@Westy22 wow...i agree with @SnookyPook , there is no standard practise, and even in the same gp, it depends who u speak to. The whole process is degrading.. one thing i guess.....at least you already have the progesterone! Do you have online contact requests at your gp? I would be tempted to use that, or e mail a complaint, drs are there for aniexty....bloods will help your anixety...one....and two...you were already told you could have them! I dont know. Just feels like no one cares at the early stage dosent it. Only way you could go to epu/ a&e is if you said you were bleeding/in pain.....whether you want to twist the truth a little or not i ges lol
@Sez281 yours seems to be flying by haha in my head your like 5wks lol all that will go quick. Do you get scans as and when you want being private then?

Sez281 · 08/03/2024 12:57

Thanks @DmcinT I got my BFP at the end of January. Still can't quite believe it to be honest! I totally get what you mean about trying to process feelings at this time. I think we're all trying to deal with it as best we can😕. It's so lovely that little Mollaí is here with you now 🥰

@Westy22 Im so sorry that you've had that response. It's just not right. I'm so lucky that my GP is the way that she is but know so many others (including my last one) that would be like yours 😠 I think getting the scan booked for some reassurance is definitely the right call now xx .

@Supertrooper101 After my dating and booking appointment Ive appointments and scans with my consultant at 16/20/24/28/30/32/34/36/37/38/39/40/41 weeks

It's bloody lucky that I have registered privately as I've just got post through the door from the main maternity wing of the hospital giving me a midwife booking appointment and dating scan at just under 14 weeks and a first consultation at 18 weeks🤔.. and that's semi private I can imagine what the wait is in the public system. I think the NHS and our HSE system are just crazy backed up at the moment

Supertrooper101 · 08/03/2024 13:37

@Sez281 thats alot of scans 🤣... been ok here, i was seen by midwife the week after calling tbf. No mention of a consultant led this time though. May have to ask 🤔. Well basically come 16 wks..... ur nerves should settle right down! Lol

Westy22 · 08/03/2024 17:30

I know thought it was crap of them tbh, they rang back and said the gp will see me but I've said it's totally pointless as they won't do bloods therefore I didn't need an appointment, I'm not sitting there for them to just talk to me about it. I guess time will tell, I don't have any progesterone @Supertrooper101 , they've never identified that I've needed it tbh so I don't think I do, my levels remained high with the last MC. I'm just going to ride it out and see how I go. If I can push to wait till 7 weeks I will. If things change and I start spotting etc I'll phone epu xx glad I've got you guys to vent to 🙈

Supertrooper101 · 08/03/2024 18:36

Vent away.... dr's receptionists do my head in. There so unique in a want to rip there head of kind of way... i just stood staring at one in disbelief the other week over somthing with my dd... took alot of effort just to walk away. Thing is, apart from one older one, they are ALWAYS changing the staff. All the time. So i know its not just me over exagerating. There basically just little shits lol i would have maybe seen the gp still, face to face the convo might have gone different. Think @Sez281 paid for hers so thats an option too. I have no idea why i thought it was you on the progesterone. I had it in my head you took it 3dpo lol its one of the above lol when do you think youl be 7wks? If all your symptons go i would phone epu regardless. Sure thats a good enough reason to get bloods surley.

Sez281 · 09/03/2024 07:55

I think it might be a universal trait of gp receptionists. There are some lovely ones but I definitely know a few where the "power" has gone to their heads 🙄 Hope you're doing ok @Westy22

@xxcxdonxx and @Jadeypie hope you're getting on ok and fertile week isn't too much of a struggle 🙈 Although I know @Jadeypie I forgot that you're on the zen vibe of not knowing where you're at, hope that's still going well! 👌

Westy22 · 09/03/2024 10:29

I'm alright, thank you @Sez281 hope your good. I spoke to EPU earlier they won't do any reassurance scans she was like we only do it after 2 and doesnt know why they said that to me, I was like so basically your telling me have another one before you'll help me? Anyway she said I can go for bloods if I want to but I've decided to wait another week as i felt like i wanted to pass out just thinking about walking in there tomorrow especially on mothers day. They said If I start spotting then call them but other than that couldn't really give me much guidance. I'm going to stick to my plan of a private scan in roughly a week, just difficult as its my OH's birthday next week too and I don't want to ruin it 😩 xx

Keep getting this dull wave of aching lower down like I'm about to have a horrific upset stomach is the only way I can describe it, bowels are fine tho. X

xxcxdonxx · 09/03/2024 12:23

@Westy22 im so frustrated and disappointed on your behalf! So only those who have have two mc’s need reassurance?!
The whole process is so broken and inconsistent.
If you’d rather not wait then take them up on the bloods, albeit it’s not an instant result or tell them a white lie you have been spotting.

I wish I could say something to make you feel a bit better but always here if you need it xx

Supertrooper101 · 09/03/2024 13:53

@Westy22 what the hell....all of us have had different treatment, told different things....all for thr same things. Why is there no consistancy. And some get help and some dont. Am with @xxcxdonxx , go for the bloods, switch of to what day it is and where you are and focus on why your there. Tell them about the dull ache and yeah, id tell a white lie or two.......

Jadeypie · 09/03/2024 17:02

@Sez281 I'm still all calm haha af ere but it's a alright one this month haha just in time for me to drink loads of wine tomorrow haha.

@Westy22 that's just so so shit the way your not getting any reassurance! As @Supertrooper101 says it's shocking how everyone gets treated differently! Definitely get the bloods done I understand about going in there but bloods might give u the relief you need till your scan xx

Sez281 · 10/03/2024 08:53

@Westy22 I'm so angry on your behalf too 😣 it's just not fair! I totally get you not wanting to go back there today of all days but maybe stick with the plan of next week. It could be lovely god your OHs birthday. With regard to the digestive pain unfortunately it's totally normal. I'm not constipated or have trapped wind but the pain is like I do. Sometimes depending on what I eat it can be excruciating, it actually woke me at 3.30am this morning 😣 You can take Fybogel sachets from the chemist and also rennie deflatine in case it is stomach acid but basically my GP (and google) say that it's normal because of the progesterone we're producing 🤷‍♀️

@Jadeypie enjoy the wine today! And happy Mother's Day to all of you ladies with little ones already 🌷 xx

Westy22 · 10/03/2024 09:07

Thank you for all your replies ladies I do appreciate you all being angry for me lol x I came home last night and had zero urge to want to go for bloods, I feel calm and like I'm trying to just accept where I'm at in this moment. Realised the OHs bday is the week after next (brain is mush) so I'm gonna hold out as long as pos. That's good to know @Sez281 , I've realised it's only happening after I've eaten and makes sense as sometimes I feel like i can taste sick. Had really bad bloat/gas last night but that's easing now, feeling a bit of nausea and slight boob pain every now and again so hoping it's a good sign x

Hope you all have a lovely mother's day xxx

Hankthehonk · 10/03/2024 10:23

Ah guys I missed the new thread, here was me thinking you'd all been awfully quiet 🙃
Trying to catch up- @Westy22 I really feel for you with your anxiety, I was exactly the same. I am so sorry you're not feeling supported by health professionals, I think I was lucky in this regard. Once my baby was born,my community midwife said she couldn't believe how calm and happy I seemed. She said she'd been worried about me and wanted to check in quickly as I'd been so anxious through the pregnancy. But it's reasonable anxiety when we've been through loss, it's just so sad that it takes some of the joy from pregnancy.

Happy mothers day to all of you (every single one of us, whether we've got living children yet or not, is a mother here in my eyes). Like @SnookyPook I've been thinking quite a lot about this time last year. My miscarriage happened on Thurs 16th and mother's day was that following Sunday. To be sitting here this year with my new baby in my arms is surreal and I wouldn't have believed you last mothers day if you'd told me. Feeling all the emotions, very lucky and complete with my two kids today but still feeling the sadness from last year as well.

Hankthehonk · 10/03/2024 10:25

@DmcinT love the name! So nice to see you back in this chat and delighted you and Mollaí are doing well.
My wee Rory will be 5 weeks old tomorrow, we're doing really well despite lack of sleep. He seems to be growing and changing so fast already which is lovely but I also want to hit pause!

Westy22 · 11/03/2024 10:12

So after feeling calmer yesterday and feeling happy I got a 3+ on clearblue, I was on the floor at 1am this morning in agony with lower abdominal pain so currently on way to EPU. Feels the exact same as the first time round as I got the pain at 4+2 with that so about 9 days later this time. Not feeling positive at all now x

Sez281 · 11/03/2024 10:24

Oh @Westy22 I'm so sorry to hear about the pain😢. Honestly it might be totally normal though🙏. My cramps from 4-6 weeks were bad enough that I needed a lot of pain relief and I was convinced AF was coming.. they've moved onto purely digestive now. Have you had any bleeding? I know that you know your own body and are 100% right to go in and get it checked. Crossing everything for you that it will be ok 🙏

Oh Westy, so sorry to hear that, that pain sounds horrible. I hope EPU do everything they can for you and that you get some positive news and reassurance. Sending lots of love to you. 💕

Westy22 · 11/03/2024 11:24

So they got a little heartbeat 💓 said its early days but they feel everything looks normal and said they don't want to see me now until the 25th, thought I would cry but I didn't think I'm just drained 🙈 so I'm officially further than last time and we have a little beating heart 💓 x

xxcxdonxx · 11/03/2024 11:37

@Westy22 that’s wonderful news!! So delighted to hear that 💜

Oh @Westy22 what a rollercoaster of a 48 hours or so you have had 🥹 I'm so relieved to hear that about the heart beat 💓 Try and distract yourself for the next 2 weeks now. (That's the day of my 12 week appointment so I'll be a bundle of nerves with you!) Go home and get some rest, I'd say you're shattered xx

SnookyPook · 11/03/2024 11:44

@Westy22 oh that's wonderful news! And a little heartbeat already! 💗 So glad you've had that reassurance. What gestation will you be by the 25th? Hopefully all will be smooth from now on. Any ideas on the pain? X

Westy22 · 11/03/2024 13:04

Thanks guys, so pain is possibly my bowels playing up due to coeliac disease and hormones. They didn't seem too interested in that tbh. Doesn't feel real atm x I'll be 7+4 on the 25th @SnookyPook feel happier that I've got a scan date to work towards tho. I'm only 5+4 now but wondering whether I'm slightly further ahead x also got my booking appointment on 3rd April so atleast I'll be checked again before that x

Paws4thought · 11/03/2024 15:17

@Westy22 ah that's fab news and a bonus having a heart beat already too, hopefully you can relax a little now:)

Supertrooper101 · 11/03/2024 15:23

@Westy22 all you was asking before was for a little support and reasurrance and no one would help. Then you had to go through that experience to get some help. Really pleased for you and that there seeing you again in 2 wks, but still really annoyed what youve gone through. But anyway, hope your snoozing right now to get some energy back lol
