TTC Active Letrozole Thread

Struggling to find an active Letrozole thread. Recently been prescribed Letrozole as I have low progesterone and signs of ovulation not being as effective as it could be, albeit I still ovulate on my own.

Would love to hear success stories or chat to people who are going through TTC with letrozole now x

It is my first Letrozole cycle and I was on 2.5mg. My lining was 8.5

That's a brilliant response to 2.5mg - i was told at 2.5mg it highly unlikely to get
more than one follicle.

i have a very high AMH (63.5) and quite a low bmi (18.5) I actually had to put weight on to get it up from 18, the goal was a bmi of 19 but not there yet but was given the go ahead and they did say that they expected a good response. I usually have very long cycles 35+ days and irregular and so this seems very strange to be so early and triggering I thought I’d need another scan next week !

I'm currently on an unmonitored Letrozole cycle (5mg without trigger). This is my 5th cycle on it.
Really hoping this is the one as I get terrible side effects from it! We only hit two days but hoping they were good days, am 6dpo today.

Hey ladies can I join? Not on letrozole (done 4 cycles unmonitored previously no joy so doc switched me to tamoxifen and trigger shot. This is my second one and both times I tested trigger out. Today is 13 days past trigger and I'm still have vvvvvvvfl but they're not getting darker so I'm thinking lingering trigger or chemical 😩 I had 5000 in Gonasi so thought it would be well out by now!

Had a few weeks off the thread but moving onto cycle 3.

I was on 2.5mg for first round, brought ovulation forward by a day and extended my LP to 12 days.

2nd round 5mg, brought ovulation forward to CD18 and currently 15dpo with negative tests. My temp has dropped today so I'm expecting AF to be here later on. So glad it's extended my LP.

Round 3 I'm back on 5mg CD2-6 and I'm getting an internal scan CD9/10/11 (depending when AF shows) to check follicles and lining x

Hi @Angelselevenx are you getting the trigger shot aswell or just doing letrozole?

@Daniki I ovulate on my own anyway so not doing trigger shots

Did anyone else have absolutely no EWCM on their Letrozole cycle? I usually have loads (too much - over a week which apparently is due to oestrogen levels being too high?) but this month - nothing?? So now I’m worrying what if the trigger didn’t work?

@Angelselevenx have you many side effects or anything from it?

@Letrozolelastchance I actually noticed that this cycle, think my trigger was timed wrong perhaps as I had none at all? Last cycle I had it the morning of my scan and the follicle was ready to pop! Had no scan this cycle he told me to trigger the same time as last cycle 🥴

@Letrozolelastchance I'm on Letrozole (no trigger) but yeah I don't get much EWCM at all now! Which can make knowing when fertile period starts hard.
It is slightly better when I drink lots and lots of water but it's nowhere like what it used to be.

Well AF came yest. I tested my trigger out,the lines never fully went away there were extremely faint even up until yesterday morning but I knew in my heart if it wasn't the trigger lingering it was a chemical. I think the trigger was gone around day8/9 as it was only the Gonasi 5000iu.
We have an appointment with the doctor at the end of this month about doing IUI so this will be our third and last monitored cycle, hopefully takes the pressure off!

@Daniki sorry to see AF came. My first round on 2.5mg I had headaches for 10 days.

Second round on 5mg no side effects.

Just started round 3 5mg so I'm hoping no side effects again!

@Angelselevenx oh great no headaches second time round, I am dreading starting tomorrow because of the headaches 🙃 hopefully cycle 3 is lucky for us both! 🙏 I have read it takes 3 cycles for a lot of people

@Daniki Interesting it takes 3 cycles!
Unfortunately we're on cycle 5 which is a failed one but for 2 of them they weren't timed right so hopefully this next final one will be successful!

BFN at 8 & 9 dpo so definitely feeling bummed as I do not want to go through those headaches again either.

@dancingfairy1 I don't think mine was timed right either, have you the trigger shot too or just the tablets? I got scanned on my first cycle and then he told me to trigger on the same day of the next one, I had no EWCM or anything that day or before it so thinking it may have been wrong, but also think I may have had a chemical this month as I had barely there squinters up until yest!
Is your next step IUI? 8/9dpo so early so you're not out yet! When I was pregnant with my son I didn't get a positive until 12dpo and I am a POAS addict!

@Daniki No trigger, just day 3-5 tablets 5mg. Only my first cycle was monitored and it looked normal - I already ovulate on my own but irregular cycles and Letrozole has made me consistently ovulate cd14.
Ever since we had our DD I barely have EWCM! And even less so on Letrozole which is hard. I hardly have any sex drive these days either so I can't rely on 'that' natural lubricant either.
Not sure what our next step would be... not quite ready to fork out for IUI or IVF yet but I'm sooo anxious about the age gap!

@dancingfairy1 yea same, my son turned 3 last month and I'm really feeling that gap! You should try the mucinex method, it's all over tik tok 😂 will try it this month myself, supposed to help with CM.we use preseed as I find im as dry as the Sahara 😂🥴 I assumed I ovulated myself also as iv gotten pregnant 4 times but my progesterone levels were always on the low side at the day 21 blood tests so we said we'd try this!

Hi guys. I’ve been lurking on this thread as been waiting to start letrozole. Found out in March I had a uterine polyp (well, turned out to be 2), so had those removed a couple of weeks ago. AF has turned up today, so planning on starting tomorrow….
Feeling a little apprehensive but also excited to see what my body does. Really hoping this will help bring us our rainbow baby x

So the mucinex method is basically taking a cough bottle that contains guafinsen throughout your fertile window, as that ingredient thins the mucus in the body, so it will thin out cervical mucus aswell! Worth a shot, I have a cough anyway so hitting two birds with one stone 😂

Does anyone know when a hcg trigger shot (5000) should usually be out of your system ? I had it on Friday evening and testing daily but it’s still showing up the same on the easy at home strips I’m just hoping it’s out of my system soon !!!!

@Letrozolelastchance usually by around day 10. If you divide 5000 by 2 per day it gives you roughly how much hcg should still be in your system!

Thankyou ! The first 3 days the test was def getting lighter now it’s not changing much and I just want the trigger to be gone so that I know if I test in a week of the result is accurate !! I’m so impatient

@Letrozolelastchance oh I know the feeling well 😝 I test it out to see if it goes negative cuz you know if it starts coming back it's a true positive!
