Struggling to find an active Letrozole thread. Recently been prescribed Letrozole as I have low progesterone and signs of ovulation not being as effective as it could be, albeit I still ovulate on my own.

Would love to hear success stories or chat to people who are going through TTC with letrozole now x

@Dija89 I would think it's more likely that you keep ovulating every cycle with the letrozole but I guess there's always a chance you hadn't.
I know how you feel, it's all that uncertainty and unknowns, TTC is so hard 😔
I always found that testing at least gave me an answer so I knew either way

Angelselevenx · 06/03/2024 07:11

Started my first round of Letrozole last night, I took it at night to try and stop the size effects and seems to have worked.

@Loz365 look at that test!! 😍 just amazing. Best of luck for yours can in two weeks let us know how you get on!

@Loz365 yesh you are righter only testing is going to give me the answer.
my doctor was adamant that I would ovulate on all 6 cycles hence they said to me they don’t need to monitor me, they said it’s very very rare that the medication would just stop working especially within months. They said you ovulated beautifully twice. I might wait till Friday and take a test. Wish me luck xxxx

Loz365 · 06/03/2024 09:02

@Angelselevenx exciting! Did you notice any side effects?

@Dija89 yes I have had 7 cycles on letrozole over the past 2 years and always ovulated once they got the dose right. Keeping everything crossed for you!! 🙏

Angelselevenx · 06/03/2024 09:45

@Loz365 I've had a few hot sweats but nothing too bad! 🤞🏼 I'm hoping it brings O a bit earlier but I doubt it.

Did you take any vitamins? I'm on the pregnacare conception max tablets and have been for the last month (before that was wild nutrition) so I don't know whether to keep going on the pregnacare tablets.

@Angelselevenx I have PCOS so I'm taking inositol, my fertility clinic recommended it and it did seem to regulate my cycles even before I started letrozole. I also took vitamin D, folic acid and coq10. No idea if the last one made a difference but continued taking them all just in case 😅

Angelselevenx · 07/03/2024 07:55

@Loz365 that's interesting! Are you still taking them now?

How's everyone else doing? Day 3 of Let today. No one warned me of the hot sweats 😂

Hi everyone,

Hope you are keeping ok!

Ready to start my official first cycle of letrozole later, I'm taking the tablets at night too to try and minimise side effects. They made me so anxious last time so hoping I cope better this round.

The hot sweats are on another level 😂

Loz365 · 07/03/2024 15:30

@Angelselevenx yep still taking them, I've googled it and looks like they're safe to continue.
Oh yea the night sweats were bad! It took me ages to work out it was the medication, I thought I was ill 🤣

@Daydreaming91 good luck! I always told myself at least if I had side effects it meant it was working 😂

Angelselevenx · 07/03/2024 15:55

And the mood swings!? @Loz365 @Daydreaming91 that hit me this morning but seems to have gone now!

Good luck with starting let @Daydreaming91 we will be in similar stages as I'm only on day 3, I normally O around CD18-23 so I'm not sure how much it'll differ on the medication

Daydreaming91 · 07/03/2024 17:15

@Loz365 thank you, haha that's exactly what my brain is trying to tell me! Hope you are doing ok!

@Angelselevenx ah good luck to you too! We can try and keep each other sane with the 2 week wait. Do you have any scans or bloods this cycle? My ovulation tends to be around the same time too

Angelselevenx · 11/03/2024 09:27

@Daydreaming91 no I don't have any scans or tests this month, do you?

CD8 and started testing LH now as I have no idea if it'll bring my ovulation day forward!

Dija89 · 11/03/2024 09:37

@Loz365 the test was positive 😊

@Dija89 Congratulations! Hope you are feeling ok!

@Angelselevenx I have a follicle scan Friday, I think this will be just to check the dose has done it's thing again. I'm on my last tablet today, I've not felt as bad this time round but the hot sweats have been worse! I'm going to start testing Wednesday I think. I'm away next week for 3 days so worried we will miss our peak window

Dija89 · 11/03/2024 11:47

@Daydreaming91 just feeling nausea . And my breast have been in pain for the last 2 weeks. Esp when it gets cold 😒

Daydreaming91 · 11/03/2024 13:25

@Dija89 I hope it eases for you! Fingers crossed for some slightly warmer weather too.

It's nice to hear that the medication works, was this your 3rd cycle?

Dija89 · 11/03/2024 13:43

@Daydreaming91 yep this was my 3rd cycle of 5mg . My 1st cycle they monitored me and they were happy with how I responded. So they gave me another 5 months and just follow the same protocol as cycle one. I didn’t bbt or use any ovulation strips we just dtd everyday after my last letrozole pill. My main symptom was very very very sore breasts. It gets very unbearable sometimes

Optimistic66 · 11/03/2024 13:46

Can I join?

I'm waiting for my period to start letrozole 2.5mg - i don't seem to ovulate regularly (maybe a couple times a year!)

Looking forward to be in with a chance to actually fall pregnant - so tired of no BBT rise or positive OPKs. Is anyone else doing a trigger shot?

Optimistic66 · 11/03/2024 13:46

Dija89 · 11/03/2024 09:37

@Loz365 the test was positive 😊

Congratulations 💖💖💖

Daydreaming91 · 11/03/2024 14:33

@Dija89 thanks for sharing, this is my first 'official' cycle of letrozole. Waiting for my follicle scan this week so keeping everything crossed for the next few cycles. I hope the breast pain eases.

@Optimistic66 hi, I'm just taking letrozole at the moment, no trigger shot. It's nice to actually feel like you are in a level playing field with ovulation, fingers crossed for you

Loz365 · 11/03/2024 15:49

@Dija89 oh my gosh!! Yay!!! I knew it! 😂 congratulations!

@Daydreaming91 good luck on Friday! Yea the hot sweats were my worst side effect, it really affected my sleep. But it worked so at least it was worth it in the end 😆

Angelselevenx · 12/03/2024 18:43

CD9 today and been getting a fair bit of ovulation pain, not expecting O to be yet as I don't normally O until CD20 but something must be going on in there 😆

OP posts:
Daydreaming91 · 12/03/2024 20:41

@Angelselevenx I actually felt some what I thought was ovulation pain yesterday so tested today and got peak ovulation on the clearblue tests. I'm CD8 and normally ovulate around CD18 so the letrozole has definitely bought it on earlier for me! Might be worth testing to check?

Angelselevenx · 12/03/2024 20:42

@Daydreaming91 no way! Did you do a strip LH test as well as I think the clearblue are a bit dodgy if it's not done over a few days (only from what I've read, I've not used them)

I did an OPK earlier and still low so not here for me yet but that's great news for you, a whole 10 days early!! Exciting 🥳

OP posts:
Daydreaming91 · 12/03/2024 21:06

@Angelselevenx Yeah I did both because it really threw me off being so early haha. Going to ask at my appointment Friday if it's normal to be that early lol.
