TTC Active Letrozole Thread

Angelselevenx · 28/02/2024 17:09

Struggling to find an active Letrozole thread. Recently been prescribed Letrozole as I have low progesterone and signs of ovulation not being as effective as it could be, albeit I still ovulate on my own.

Would love to hear success stories or chat to people who are going through TTC with letrozole now x

I only had a vvvvfl on 13DPO when I had a BFP so wait a couple of days more and you never know!

Sending a big hug 🫶

Thank you, that’s very kind x

Hi ladies, currently CD14 - first cycle using Letrozole. I normally don't ovulate until around CD 21 - 24. I had a static smiley on clearblue on CD 12 - it went straight from O to static smiley, never showing a flashing smiley. Although the lines were still weak and definitely nowhere near as strong as the control line when I popped it out. I'm also using the easy @ home OPK's and haven't got anywhere near a peak on those so no idea what is going on but I'm fairly sure I haven't ovulated as BBT still low. I am not being monitored and was on 2.5mg. Feeling v frustrated! Looks like I will need to go onto 5mg if I don't ovulate in the next few days. When do you ladies usually ovulate when using Letrozole? Does it make a difference that I normally do ovulate but later on in my cycle? I thought Letrozole was supposed to regulate my cycle (forcing me to ovulate earlier and therefore come on my period earlier!) Minefield!! Hope you're all doing okay x

There’s still time!

I usually ovulate on CD14 and I took my first round of this month and ovulated normal time🥰

BreakfastOats · 24/09/2024 09:47

@Familyfirst12 I ovulate on CD12-14 on my own. I ovulated on CD13 with my first round of Letrozole. The tablets do indirectly regulate your cycle. Good luck!

I’m so sorry, this process is nerve racking ☹️ You’re not out till you get your period though! Sending you my best thoughts 🍀

I got mine last night after going for a long run, needless to say I regretted it big time 😅 Starting Letrozole again tonight. I feel that there is such a big distance still to cross to make it to the life I’ve imagined as a family of three, so I have to swallow my feelings and keep going 🫠

Helo!
Firstly, it's so lovely to read success stories on here, it's filled me with hope.
On day 5 of my first cycle of Letrozole, I've been diagnosed with PCOS and have been TTC for 2 years. I've had bloods to show I am ovulating but irregularly when I do my luteal phase is super short and I spot from about CD 20 so hoping Letrozole will help with that.
I've got my first monitoring scan on Monday!
Has anyone else been put on Letrozole for this reason and had success by any chance?

worldwidetravel2017 · 25/09/2024 13:08

My fear is that theyll find endo next week when they do tube flush

Also good feretin = very important 4 ttc

BreakfastOats · 25/09/2024 22:16

@JolliLolli Not me but hope you get good news on Monday!

@worldwidetravel2017 You’ve done the right thing booking it despite feeling worried!

Let us know how your appointments go next week! Wishing you luck 🍀

Hi ladies, just want to see if anyone can shed any light.. I have been put on Letrozole 2.5mg. I ovulate every month normally but can vary between about day 21 - 28. I have just got a positive OPK on day 17. Do I assume that 2.5mg has 'worked' as I think I will ovulate on day 19 or do I need to go up to the higher dose as fertility clinic said they would expect ovulation around day 14 - 17? Basically should I stay on 2.5mg or go up to 5mg?

Angelselevenx · 27/09/2024 13:38

@Familyfirst12 what have you been put on Letrozole for, to boost your own natural ovulation? I'm similar, I ovulated on my own around cd20-23 but with Letrozole I ovulate cd16/17. I got pushed up to 7.5mg but only because I was put on it to increase my own progesterone which it did do, but was always borderline

@Angelselevenx I don't actually know... I am having such a tricky time with the fertility clinic that I'm with - they never explain anything properly and are generally very rude and quick to try and get you off the phone. It's driving me mad to be honest. From what I could gather she put me on it as a bit of a tick box exercise before referring us for IVF - after googling and reading on here though I was optimistic that it would shorten my very long cycles. In that sense, if I ovulate over the next couple of days which my positive OPK today would suggest, then I suppose it is 'working' to an extent? Without monitoring (which they wouldn't do, even for my first cycle on it because we are NHS not private) I suppose we will never know if I ovulate 1 egg as usual, or more.

Im on 2.5 and Letrozole brings my ovulation fwd a week

Further update in case anyone is interested😂 BBT has still not risen (currently cd21) even after peak OPK CD18. Feeling very deflated and pretty sure I've not ovulated even thought I had horrendous cramps etc I've never ovulated without a rise in BBT before. So upset by this whole bloody thing😥

It's so hard to stay positive isn't it? But keep your chin up, there's still time yet.
Do you use OPKs regularly? Because I was told to not use them by my clinic due to my LH levels fluctuating throughout my cycle. So maybe your levels were a bit off on CD18?
Don't lose hope! Sending you all the positive vibes!

Did they give you more information?

Did they give you more information?

Was a private tube flush
They cant say 100 percent
But its very likely

No foam was seen going through either tube

Theyve suggested ivf
And / or laparoscopy.

We concieved naturally last yr but then miscarriage.

I have a call with my NHS fertility consultant tomorrow

Thankfully my amh is ok

BreakfastOats · 02/10/2024 15:12

@Familyfirst12 You might be experiencing a slower rise in BBT, where the temperature increase may be gradual and not immediately apparent in the days following ovulation. I hope you see a noticeable change soon!

@worldwidetravel2017 Hope your consultant appointment went well! It's a lot to take in but it's very promising that your AMH is ok for your age, IVF was invented for tubal issues after all. I am warming up to the idea myself, although I am worried about my low AMH. I just can't wait too much longer, hoping for a natural conception with Letrozole when I already ovulate on my own.

PS. My DH has low morphology and our consultant insisted it's not an issue as his count, motility etc are all really really good. I can only go by what the consultant says but I am becoming more and more sceptical 😓If anyone has experience with this, I'd love to hear some stories!

susie1984234 · 09/10/2024 10:11

So I've moved on to my next round of Letrozole. Went for a follicle scan this morning and looks like I might have already ovulated ealry( will be confirmed with bloods) so this cycle is probably done already.

How is everyone else doing?
