TTC Active Letrozole Thread

Angelselevenx · 28/02/2024 17:09

Struggling to find an active Letrozole thread. Recently been prescribed Letrozole as I have low progesterone and signs of ovulation not being as effective as it could be, albeit I still ovulate on my own.

Would love to hear success stories or chat to people who are going through TTC with letrozole now x

@LucyLou0527 yes i think you are more than covered.

My first cycle I had sex the night of the trigger shot and day after( so only 2 times) and that resulted in a positive testy

This cycle I triggered on Wednesday night, we only managed to do it once on Thursday morning, so I hope it's not a wasted cycle.

After my MMC in July we are feeling the pressure and timing intercourse is not sexy :/

LucyLou0527 · 15/09/2024 00:28

Aw that is reassuring!

im sorry to hear about your MC, i had one back in November last year and we have only just agreed on trying again.

i have my fingers crossed for both of us!

my tests are now fully negative so I’ve definitely ovulated but i have a terrible stitch pain that’s been on my right ovary all day and now moved to my left so im worried🥲

I think the stitches and pains are more often that not just because you are super aware of what's going on down there!
Do you use a trigger shot at all or just Letrozole and then ovulation testing?

LucyLou0527 · 15/09/2024 20:05

Yeah I think it’s definitely more noticeable due to me symptom spotting!

just the letrozole and OPKs for me this month!

LucyLou0527 · 17/09/2024 12:35

Hi guys

I’m 4dpo today!

since last night I’ve had a load of excess CM, could this be from the letro? Or is this a good sign so far? Xx

worldwidetravel2017 · 17/09/2024 13:33

One thing my fertility consultant drummed into me lately is how having your feretin level at , at least 100 - can really help on fertility journey

Just wanted to share with you all

Hi, same here. I think it has to do with the levels of estrogen and progesterone changing and how your body reacts to those changes. CM volume and consistency is more meaningful around ovulation from what I know, as it helps sperm reach the egg.

A week to go for me before I take a pregnancy test, can't wait to find out!

Is anyone who triggered this month testing the hCG out? I am not but curious to hear stories about when it goes away completely. I'd be devastated if I got a false positive when I test at 14DPO 🤔

I haven't been testing out my trigger, but I think by 14dpo you should be pretty clear of it.
I have to wait until next Wednesday to test, it's my birthday on Friday and I wish I could do an early test then but I'm sure I would have a false positive as it would be too soon

What a shame you can’t test before Friday! Hope you get good news next week though! Oh and happy birthday 🥳

Hows everyone ?

Letrozole cycle 4 starts for me tomorrow

worldwidetravel2017 · 22/09/2024 22:42

Should be getting an iron iv very soon due to low feretin and heavy periods

susie1984234 · 23/09/2024 09:13

Good luck for cycle 4! What doseage are you on? That's great you are having Iron IV I think that will really help.
I'm coming towards the end of my TWW, no feeling either way atm as trying not to symptom spot.
I turned 40 on Friday so was a hard one, feeling like the odds are stacked against me but trying to remain positive!

Thank you

On 2.5 mg..

Tbh i ovulated most cycles without it

They say its to try and make me super ovulate

Tbh the last cycle was AWOL
We tried lots where ovulation was expected to be.
But due to stress and some new supplements - i actually ovulated mega late and had mega long cycle

Low feretin can also cause ovulation issues

Happy belated bday
I hear u re age worries
I turn 38 in a bit

But - as long as ovarian reserve is good etc and your ovulating - many become parents at late 30s and early 40s .

Trying to get my private tube flush bkd in for early oct

NHS consultant recommended it

Been diagnosed with menorrhagia now

Is your feretin at least 100 ?
My consultant stressed how that can help

Hope you get lucky soon

One day at a time

BreakfastOats · 23/09/2024 09:39

I carried 2 heavy supermarket bags yesterday and after that I noticed that my discharge was brown. I don’t usually get that before my period even when I lift weights at the gym. I took a test just now (12DPO) and it’s negative so getting mentally ready for my next round of Letrozole!

Staying positive is the way to go, I am reminding myself constantly that being emotional gets me into a fight or flight state and makes my body think it’s not a good time to get pregnant! So I want to stay in bed and cry all day, but I don’t 😅

Best of luck to those who haven’t tested yet and those starting another Letrozole round 🍀

susie1984234 · 23/09/2024 15:50

@worldwidetravel2017 I'm on 2.5mg as well, also was ovulating ok on my own but maybe my eggs were poor quality. I have diminished ovarian reserve but I still have hope - as you say one day at a time but it's difficult!

My Ferratin is ok I think but I'll get it checked maybe if this cycle is not successful!

I only had a vvvvfl on 13DPO when I had a BFP so wait a couple of days more and you never know!

Sending a big hug 🫶

Now not having letrozole this cycle as private clinic said i cant be on letrozole the same cycle as tube flush

Have you had your feretin tested ?

Low feretin can make implantation impossible

My consultant discussed feretin with me yest

Did they say what level it needs to be ? I’m struggling with mine so much it seems to never go above 33 the latest was 10 and I’m on ferrous fumarate

My consultant says ideally at least 100

( you could pay a couple hundred quid for private iron iv - / if you cant get iron iv on nhs)

Decent feretin = important

When we concieved last year ( then early miscarriage) - it was over 100

worldwidetravel2017 · 23/09/2024 16:43

Some private clinics charge 100 gbp per 100 mg of iron

worldwidetravel2017 · 23/09/2024 16:43

When my feretin went to 250 after iron iv last year , my quality of life was much better too

I’m barely functioning currently I will see if I meet the criteria for iv iron
