@WholeZebra Congratulations! So sorry it was three days but she must make every second feel worth it 🥰 Soak up all of the baby cuddles!

WholeZebra · 02/04/2024 09:52

@TheBirdintheCave absolutely traumatic birth haha - had every experience you can think of but strangely made positive by all of the incredible staff. I’d go through all of the hardships and every step it took to get her ten times over 🥰

Triselly · 03/04/2024 06:42

Congratulations @WholeZebra !! Such wonderful news, although very sorry to hear you were in labour for 3 days 😯 that sounds absolutely exhausting.

Wishing you every happiness with your little one 🎉🎉🎉❤️

RunningOnHope · 24/04/2024 21:35

Congratulations @WholeZebra, I hope you and Nora are still doing really well ❤️

We are currently doing consents, drugs driving next week, to begin our cycle when DWs period starts around 4th May. I'm already exhausted at the thought of going through the rollercoaster again but so desperate for it to work for us this time.

TheBirdintheCave · 24/04/2024 22:56

@RunningOnHope That's exciting! I hope everything goes well for you both! ❤️

Triselly · 27/04/2024 17:30

@RunningOnHope That’s exciting news, very understandable reaction to the rollercoaster. Sending you and your wife a hug and hope that you are both doing ok xx Please keep us up to date if you are able to.

We have our first appointment with a nurse in a week and a half for a state funded round, very very grateful for this but yes like you absolutely dreading it all again ❤️

TheBirdintheCave · 27/04/2024 21:58

@Triselly Great news for you too! I hope the meeting goes well!

Triselly · 11/05/2024 06:51

Hey guys, hope you are all having a good May and saw the Northern Lights last night (?!)

@RunningOnHope Have you and your wife started the round yet? Hope that you’re both doing alright xx

We had our meeting with a dr at a state hospital for a state funded round, it was rather intense. She said it would like be September or October for our next round, so a bit bummed as was hoping to fit in a round before I turned 38 but oh well.

And that she wanted to send me for a laparoscopy to remove endometriosis she could see on one of my ovaries. Which was a bit of a surprise as had no idea I apparently have endometriosis, but it does explain a lot. So I’m worrying about that as the waiting list for the operation is up to a year and without it our chances of success may well be reduced. Maybe it’s why our other rounds failed?

Ugh yeah so more worrying, waiting. Hope that you are all well out there xxx❤️

TheBirdintheCave · 11/05/2024 07:43

@Triselly Everywhere here is too bright to see it unfortunately 🙄 BUT I did see them in Norway a long time ago so I'm not too bothered 😅

Sounds like the meeting went well! I'm sorry it's a long way but I'm pleased they seem to be being very thorough with your care and that they're going to do something about the endo!

RunningOnHope · 21/05/2024 10:27

Hi all,

Sorry you've got a bit of a wait ahead @Triselly, definitely get the frustration of that. Have you got a timeline for the laparoscopy?

Our round has started. Bit disappointing in that we were expecting big results from DW based on the stats but actually she didn't really respond to the drugs well. So we had 6 eggs collected yesterday and 5 have fertilised. Really really hoping this lead us to a good few embryos... but it's the first rollercoaster of waiting over the next few days for phone calls with embryologists!

TheBirdintheCave · 21/05/2024 13:03

@RunningOnHope That's exciting though! Good luck! Keep us appraised of the embryo situation :D

TheBirdintheCave · 21/05/2024 13:07

Oh I forgot 😂

Baby Marcella Jane Rose was born at 40+3 on the 17th at 19.06 weighing 7lb 1oz. 47 hours of labour with a 10 minute rushed ending 😂 Irritatingly similar to the birth of my son in which we were not believed and kept out of the delivery suite until the last minute.

RunningOnHope · 21/05/2024 13:17

Ahhhhh @TheBirdintheCave that's fabulous news. So pleased for you. Sorry you had a less than ideal experience. DW had similar with DD, officially down as 2 minutes of pushing, actually closer to 30 seconds between them believing she was coming and her actually being born.

TheBirdintheCave · 21/05/2024 17:17

@RunningOnHope Oh gosh that sounds scary! I think mine is recorded as 11 minutes 😂

Annoyingly I'd been in the hospital on a side ward since 2pm whilst they tried to convince us to go home 🙄

Triselly · 22/05/2024 08:27

Aww that is fantastic news @TheBirdintheCave ! And what a beautiful name ❤️ Hope that you are all doing well, that does sound frustrating but so glad you are all good 💐❤️

@RunningOnHope thinking of you both! 5 out of 6 fertilised sounds very positive, even if it's not quite as high as you were hoping. I'm keeping everything crossed for you two, and hope that your wife has found it ok with all the procedures ❤️xxx

RunningOnHope · 25/05/2024 10:47

Hi guys, all went well for transfer. We had 4 embryos growing:

A 4BA on board, and in the freezer have gone another 4BA and two 4ABs. Same number of embryos we had with my round last year but much better quality, so feeling hopeful at this moment. Now the waiting...

Triselly · 25/05/2024 14:27

@RunningOnHope Oh excellent news!! Wishing you guys a very speedy and minimal-stress tww ❤️

TheBirdintheCave · 25/05/2024 16:58

@RunningOnHope That's so exciting! :D I so hope this is one for you and your wife ❤️

RunningOnHope · 01/06/2024 19:32

Well here we go again - let's hope this one sticks around!! 🥰

Triselly · 03/06/2024 09:17

Oh that’s fantastic!! Congratulations to you both, excellent news!! Please let us know how everything goes! ❤️😄💐💐💐

RunningOnHope · 03/06/2024 18:08

Thanks @Triselly @TheBirdintheCave - in such a bag of nerves after the previous experiences, just dreading seeing that line disappear in the next few days. Going to test again tonight so will let you know...

RunningOnHope · 03/06/2024 19:29

A definite improvement! Now 9dp5dt. No more testing until OTD on Thursday...

RunningOnHope · 25/09/2024 22:21

I know it's been a while but @Triselly are you going again in October, as I think was the plan at one stage? Been thinking of you!

Triselly · 26/09/2024 09:50

Hello @RunningOnHope how are you guys doing? Is everything going well with your wife?

Such a coincidence that you messaged today, I am starting on Meriofert today for round 4! Been down regulating since early September, first time doing a long protocol so interested to see whether that makes a difference.

It’s been a bit of a mad few months, the public hospital sent me for surgery to see if I had endometriosis at the beginning of summer, they found moderate endo, and a lot of scarring - including on my ovary and my bladder where they had been fused together at some point 😨. But apparently having endo surgery doesn’t improve ivf success so just going to have to see.

And right as we’re starting round 4, my husband and I both get Covid! He’s still in the middle of it but I’m better now, it might mean that we have to freeze any eggs and wait for him to recover a few months as it can impact sperm production. I’ve been worrying about whether we should delay everything but maybe waiting a few months will be just as bad, I just turned 38 so time is kind of pressing now.

How is everyone else doing? Xxx
