Hey there,
Does anyone want to be ttc friends and update each other on our journeys, tips and what not on this thread with each other. As I'd love someone to talk about with it who can relate too.

@starryx ah sorry it’s a BFN, is AF due soon?

@GreenMug30 I’m on cd10 but don’t generally ovulate until Cd17/18 so I’ll be hopefully ovulating next week as well. I would love to know your results of the tests as it’s something I’ll be looking at in the new year if we haven’t had any luck by then.

@HarrogateGirl welcome to the group! It can be quite lonely the TTC journey so I find it so nice having this group to put questions to and talk to people in a similar boat.

GreenMug30 · 11/10/2023 15:46

Welcome @HarrogateGirl 😊

@Roseberry22 of course, I'll share. I've got the tests now but my one has to be taken on day 3 of the cycle so I'll have to wait almost a whole month for that. I've just started bbting (when I actually remember) too. I think it's actually less stress than the ovulation sticks for me!

I also had ovulation on day 17/18 up until this past month when it went to day 15 out of the blue - no idea why! I started proceive so it could have been that - but I thought it was meant to lengthen cycles :S who knows!

Roseberry22 · 11/10/2023 19:02

I’ve been bbt for a while now, this month I’m really going to try and use it to confirm ovulation as the last couple of months I’ve been obsessing about every temperature which hasn’t helped me. I’ve just started on Proceive conception vitamins, I was already taking some different pre natal vitamins but I’ve decided to switch so I’ll see if they do anything to my cycle!

Af came early this morning, just my luck to waste money on a test lol. Brought a pack of two though so got on for if I'm late next month

Got my blood test results back today and hcg level is normal. So I think I was pregnant but had a very early miscarriage.

How is everyone else doing? Any news?

Millie1501 · 12/10/2023 19:23

I am roughly 6dpo ( didn’t use ovulation tests so this is just according to my app). I promised I wouldn’t symptom spot this month but I can’t help myself. I’m cramping a lot but this is my fourth month ttc and I have had this the previous months. Oddly I didn’t cramp as much before trying so not sure why that is. I get terrible hormonal acne which only improved while pregnant with my first. My acne has improved since ovulation but I know I can’t read too much into that, it’s just too early this probably means nothing.

I am going to try wait until I am late before testing. I don’t have any test in the house so just need to try resist buying any until next weekend. I’ve spent too much on tests in previous months and early testing just leads to more confusion I find.

Sorry to you ladies who have had negative tests recently or af has arrived, fingers crossed we all get there soon eh. I’d love to be pregnant for Christmas lol

Roseberry22 · 12/10/2023 20:24

@starryx sorry to hear that AF arrived, sending you all the luck for this month!

@Rose38 do you feel any better now you’ve got confirmation? I can imagine it’s still hard to hear.

@Millie1501 it’s so hard not to symptom spot isn’t it, every little niggle you think is this it! I also find I have more cramping since TTC I’m not sure if this is just because I’m actually paying attention now and probably always had the cramps.

Yeah I'm definitely feeling relieved. At least now I can just carry on ttc. I do still find myself taking cheap pregnancy tests each day though 🙈 it has become a bad habit. I got a bulk pack and just use 1 a day.

The cramping thing I have noticed too. I keep getting pains more than usual. But I'm assuming it's all the hormones.

Millie1501 · 12/10/2023 22:24

@Rose38 I am glad you are feeling better. It’s the not knowing that drives us crazy eh.
How interesting you and @Roseberry22 feel more cramping also. You guys might be right about noticing symptoms more now. But I also wonder if there’s something happening in our bodies that we are feeling but doesn’t result in successful implantation. Which I don’t think is anything to worry about, totally normal for fertilisation to happen without it sticking. I could be wrong but it is hard to believe I’ve cramped like this and missed it prior to trying. I could be wrong though, how do we really know what’s going on lol.

Ok so I've been ovulating for the last 2 days...flashing smiley face (on Clearblue test). The bleeding I had was last week Tue to Thu. Does that definitely mean that the bleeding was not my periods? It lasted 3 days only (during which time I had faint positive tests).
I read online that ovulation usually takes place around 2 weeks after your periods.

The flashing smiley doesn’t mean ovulation it just means you’re in your fertile window as your levels are rising. The first time I used the ovulation tests I had 9 days of flashing smiles until I got my static smile on the 11th day of using them. I’ve now started testing slightly later as I know the earliest I’ve ovulated is CD16.

Keep testing and when you get a static solid smile this is your best chance to conceive.

Rose38 · 13/10/2023 14:34

Oh thanks..I was getting confused...my period tracking app is showing today is the last day of 'high' chance of getting pregnant though. It's all so confusing. Last time I was ttc #2 and used that app it got all my dates mixed up & I ended up conceiving on a day that the app hadn't shown as a high chance..I probably should take the app with a pinch of salt. It used to predict my periods at the correct times though.

Roseberry22 · 13/10/2023 14:41

I often found the app guessed ovulation as 14 days before expected period but doesn’t allow for any small cycle differences!

Now I’ve been logging OPKs and BBT for a couple of months they do seem more reliable to when I expect to ovulate.

It’s such a minefield trying to get your head around it all isnt it, I’m sure your solid smile will come soon.

Rose38 · 13/10/2023 14:46

I'm going to give it another week of testing for ovulation and then I might just start taking a relaxed approach. I think I've been stressing too much about ttc & it's starting to feel like a chore 😂😂 My husband keeps telling me to stop checking the app & the doing ovulation tests as he doesn't believe they are accurate. We are probably just better off dtd every 2 days and seeing what happens. That's what we did last time round.

Roseberry22 · 13/10/2023 20:58

I know exactly what you mean you do all this to try and plan exactly when but then stress doing it so I think that doesn’t help either! It’s not nice when it feels like a chore is it 😂

I wish I’d just take the relaxed approach from the start but started with the OPK and bbt from the first month! I think it’s because I wanted to try start TTC before my husband so felt like I already had ‘missed months’ trying when I’ve probably just made things worse.

Roseberry22 · 17/10/2023 09:23

How is everyone doing?

I switched prenatal vitamins this cycle to Proceive conception and think I’ve had my earliest ovulation yet CD15 usually I’m at CD18, it caught me a bit off guard so we haven’t DTD as much as I’d have hoped, only twice.

Back to the TWW!

Rose38 · 17/10/2023 09:49

I've had really bad cramping last 3 days..like the pain has made me have to stop what I'm doing, that's how bad it is! Nausea was so bad yesterday that I actually vomited. Intense headaches last couple of days as well and body aching. White discharge last night as well.

Ovulation tests still showing flashing smiley faces for last few days so we have continued dtd. Period app is showing periods are due towards the end of next week...is it possible that something may have happened now?

Roseberry22 · 17/10/2023 11:29

@Rose38 Could that be onset of ovulation? The tests have always given me a solid smile around the same time as the apps predict it. And if it’s still flashing smiles the test should know your hormone levels are still rising! Fingers crossed you get a solid smile in the next few days.

starryx · 17/10/2023 11:40

Af over. Try again this month. 😊 I'm going to dtd every other day/ every day in some cases haha. Wish me luck.
Not tracking ovulation as so much stress into doing tests everyday which I don't really want.

The cramps seem a bit much to be ovulation..I mean they seem very intense. A couple of nights I couldn't sleep properly because of the pain. I would say if feels like when I used to be on my periods prior to taking the mini pill.

I only have one ovulation test left and after that I will not test anymore as it's expensive & I think it is making me more stressed about ttc.

Good luck @starryx . I think taking the relaxed approach will help you. 🤞 your positive test comes soon.

Roseberry22 · 17/10/2023 12:40

@starryx good luck this month, sending you all the baby dust! I think it does help taking a more relaxed approach. I’ve used OPK this month but more to pin point ovulation and try not over pressurise anything.

@Rose38 that does sound strange, I’ve not heard it to be that much pain for ovulation. Our bodies do some strange things don’t they! I know they’re so expensive aren’t they, luckily I bought a pack of 20 and have only used 5 this cycle, the first time using I used 11 to get a solid smile.

Rose38 · 17/10/2023 20:34

The pain is becoming unbearable...feels like the time I had appendicitis 😭 I can now feel it lower part of my stomach right hand side.

I started reading forums online and found some women develop cysts..now I'm worried if it's something like that. I do have PCOS.

Could it be implantation? It seems quite severe pain for that. It's been about 3 days of on and off pain. The pain is not there all day but when it is there, it feels really bad.

Roseberry22 · 17/10/2023 21:15

Aw @Rose38 that sounds painful! I’m not sure ovulation or implantation should be that painful or for that long? Could you try going to see a doctor tomorrow to see what they advise?

Rose38 · 17/10/2023 21:51

I just read through some more old posts on here and there were quite a few people saying that after their early miscarriage, their ovulation pains seemed really bad. Supposedly that is normal. To be honest I can't even remember...I had another miscarriage just over 4 years ago and that one was pretty bad but I've forgotten what it was like afterwards in terms of pain etc.

I'm going to see how I feel through the night & if it's still really bad then I'll go and see the doctor tomorrow.

Roseberry22 · 18/10/2023 13:41

@Rose38 how are you feeling today?
