I have a 2 year old and looking to start TTC later year. I made great friends on here last time when trying to conceive in 2020 so thought I would start a thread for anyone who is trying to conceive whilst looking after another child (in my case a toddler ekkk)

Hi all, new to this :)

TTC baby no2. Little boy is 4 and just a started school so now is the perfect time for us. We conceived him really quickly and I was very naive back then so just went with the flo (no tracking, no early tests, no temp monitoring etc)

I don’t know if it’s because I’m a few years older now but I’m already obsessing over ttc number 2. It’s only our first month trying, but I’ve bought ovulation sticks, I have about 8 pregnancy tests in the house. I’m so scared it’s going to take much longer but guess that’s natural?

anyway, started bleeding last night (not due on for 4 days) Has been period like but suddenly stopped tonight. I don’t feel could be IB as was red and had clots but not very heavy. It’s all very confusing and easy to overthink.

going to test at the weekend, but if not then we’ll try again next month :) xx

In a very similar position with a DS of nearly the same age.
We conceived him very quickly but taking longer for us this time.
About to go into month 5 TTC x

Just catching up on the ovulation chat, I'm so biased but would 100% say do not rely on the apps to give you a date as they just take the middle day of your cycle so you can easily miss it. I have pcos and AF has finally arrived after a 48 day cycle but even then, the dates were still well out. I use CB digital if it helps and fell pregnant within 6 weeks last time using them x

@FirstTimeMumma2021 completely agree. have fairly regular cycles and i don't ovulate til day 17-18 of my cycle and lots of people ovulate earlier than the 14 days so could miss it.

My friend used the family planning method assuming her ovulation was day 14 like always and one month it was randomly late. her baby is now two (to be clear she wanted the baby they were just taking a month or twos break due to having had a miscarriage)

think my period arrived thurs (after 19 days) but was very light (although red in colour) and literally lasted a day and has now stopped! still testing negative. So possibly a very early anomoly of a period. I had covid last week and was really poorly with it so I think that may have played a part and just thought ah let’s just throw in this random one day period aswel and mess the whole cycle up. hopefully October is a better month 🙏

@Dg31 could it have been implantation or ovulation bleeding?

I did think/hope this but I’m still getting BFN and ovulated tue/wed of last week so I think would have showed up now

AF has arrived this morning so it’s on to next month.

@Dg31 if it was just that Tuesday there may be too early for a bfp? Keeping fingers crossed for you x

AF finally arrived after a 48 day cycle for me. Currently 5 days in and it's like hell on earth this month lol

After 2 months of having 28 day cycles, I am now on day 30 with no sign of it starting. I have been on holiday for a week and eating badly so I do wonder if that is the cause and not that I am back to a 34/35 day cycle.
How has everyone's weekends been?

So period over, it's time to start getting down to business again this month. but my daughter is unwell (as our DH and I) so not the most romantic mood. I think ovulation should be about Tuesday so hopefully all better for the weekend to get down and dirty.

I think about 11/12dpo will be my late mums birthday so am going to try and hold out testing til then if i don't get my period first (usually get around 10dpo but sometimes a little earlier or later). think it will be lucky. but can i hold out that long

Good luck to everyone trying again this month! Going for it next week, if I can get over my permanent exhaustion from work/childcare/housework.

I've caved in and taken a test.....6 days before my period which I know is crazy but the TWW is killing me not knowing.

Anyway, serves me right as I've got a BFN and now feel deflated 😫

Can I join? Just started TTC baby no2 after getting my first period since no1. He is 9 months old and I've been breast feeding so no period til now. Feeling hopeful but a little apprehensive because we struggled to get pregnant and suffered 2 mcs. I was diagnosed with pcos and put on metformin which did the trick in the end but hoping things are easier this time round 🙏 I have just had a very positive ovulation test on Sunday so currently 4dpo and stupidly I'm imagining nausea 😂😂😂 thought I'd come on here for some support as I found it so helpful last time x

I think its O day. So one last attempt tonight. Then into the utter insanity that is TWW.
I am a bit confused though as I bought a fertility bracelet. I broke the strap night 2 as I think I put it on too tight and wrestled it off my wrist in the middle of the night 😩. Still using it with some makeshift bands to hold it on but have slept terribly since then so not sure how accurate the results are as I think you're supposed to have a period of 4 hours proper sleep or something and don't think I'm getting that in one go.
Not really sure what I'm looking at graphwise but was expecting to see a dip at time of ovulation and, in fact, there's a dip a few days ago. So might actually be a few days PO. In which case, worrying if we started early enough. Definitely covered it to a degree but will have only just scraped in at the end so panicking a bit now! Xx

4 months in. Feeling like the months are dragging 😔

Hi 👋🏼 jumping back on, been trying for 4 months now & on day 2 of the TWW. I went into this so naively as we were so lucky that DC1 was conceived the first month & thought we'd be that lucky again. I think I messed up this month & didn't test ovulation at the right time so only managed to DTD the day before & day of ovulation, I'm trying to remain optimistic though

@Cressie2 @KM8 @Bubblesandtroubles thanks for your nice messages! Always helps yo have others in the same boat (though a boat I wish none of us had to be in!)
6 dpo now and have been trying really hard this month...like twice a day,so much effort! So got my fingers crossed.
Back to the 2ww craziness!

@KM8 Loads of women get BFPs the day or two before their period so don’t lose hope. I was googling the same over the past few days (to get a glimmer of hope too) but sadly AF arrived tonight. Gutted. I also had a false positive this morning on an easy@home test which made it even more heartbreaking as celebrated!

Onwards and upwards.

I really do think that everything happens for a reason so this month was again, not my month, but I have faith that I will get pregnant one day 🤞🏻and have to enjoy each month as it comes and not obsess about having a baby. A year might pass trying and I would miss it for all the worrying. I’m going to try not to overly worry and just enjoy connecting with DH. Tonight calls for wine though 🍷 ☀️

@Cressie2 that's a helpful message I need to remember for myself!need to remember to be more in the moment. Fingers crossed for next month!
@KM8 I'm now 6 days before AF and just got a bfn 😔 so tough isn't it why can't we just know! I guess until AF comes there's still hope x

We still haven't officially started trying but planning on starting in December
