I have a 2 year old and looking to start TTC later year. I made great friends on here last time when trying to conceive in 2020 so thought I would start a thread for anyone who is trying to conceive whilst looking after another child (in my case a toddler ekkk)

@Confusedddddddd yes I do the same! I got pregnant on holiday last time so hoping that would happen this time (It didn't!) But I was defo drinking a bit, not thinking about trying and relaxed but those are hard conditions to replicate with a 2yo 😆
I go back through my pregnancy app to check what symptoms I got on which day when I conceived last time...TTC has definitely got me losing it 🥴

Mummysparrow · 18/09/2023 17:49

I had blood tests last week to check my iron, vitamin b12 and thyroid levels and results are normal but that isn't surprising as I take 200% of the RDA for Iron. However my patient access only shows TSH serum levels and I doubt they will only do that level and not T3 and T4. They generally hold back results that aren't normal from patient access until the doctor speaks to you so I wondering if they have checked T3 and T4 but they aren't normal and need to speak to me first. I would like to get on top of that before I get pregnant 😩

@Bubblesandtroubles

That's exactly what I've been doing. It's quite draining, hope can be the worst sometimes.

RedRobyn2021 · 18/09/2023 20:54

@Bumblebeemee congratulations 🥳

Cressie2 · 18/09/2023 21:12

Congratulations @Bumblebeemee! ❤️

KM8 · 21/09/2023 17:23

Just a hello to everyone.....how are we all getting on? 🥰

sunflower1988 · 21/09/2023 20:33

Af has just come,I cried in the toilet at work today...so not great 😆

sunflower1988 · 21/09/2023 20:34

You know when you're convinced this will be the month,I swear I felt implantation happen! Clearly TTC has sent me doolally

Bells3032 · 21/09/2023 21:00

@sunflower1988 I felt the same way. I was convinced that it was gonna happen this month. I don't have AF yet but my left boob is cold and spent a lot of time in the loo today which usually happens the day before af. I'm gonna be so upset when she arrives

Bubblesandtroubles · 21/09/2023 21:08

@sunflower1988 I think TTC sends us all doolally 🙈

In sorry AF made an unwelcome appearance. I hope you at least got to have a nice cuppa or something when you came out of the toilet! (And something stronger when you got home from work)

I was 4 days late this month but with negative tests so knew I wasn't pregnant. By the time it arrived I was just pleased to see it as I'd gone through my upset and disappointment and just wanted to move on to the next month.

I've got proceive vitamins and a fertilily cup thing this month. Throwing everything at it!

Xx

Cressie2 · 21/09/2023 21:27

@sunflower1988😞it’s really tough when AF comes, I felt that way last month and hope you’re ok. Next month will be your month. Keep hopeful and enjoy the wine until then!

@KM8 i only use one App for ovulation tracking (used Ovia with my firstborn and now using Flo which is really good). I also don’t bother with temperature testing as some many things can vary your temperature each day and think it will add unnecessary stress. Relying on the clear blue digital ovulation test which worked really well with my first. Caught my peak time much better than any app or temperature. I’ve also cut out caffeine and alcohol whilst trying.

Anyone else using Clearblue digital ovulation?

It clearly didn’t work for my last cycle but hoping this time round it will 🤞🏻

KM8 · 21/09/2023 21:27

@sunflower1988 oh no, but onwards to the next month ❤️ TTC is sending me bonkers too, literally all I keep thinking of. Keep ovulation testing but still negative here 🤦‍♀️

KM8 · 21/09/2023 21:32

@Cressie2 I'm using Flo too, but my periods have been so irregular since coming off the pill that I'm guessing that's not helping the data either.
I've just been using the strip tests but thinking of getting the clear blue digital ones?
I fell pregnant within the first month of trying with my 1st so I thought it would be easy this time round too!

Cressie2 · 21/09/2023 21:40

@KM8 the digital are super accurate and pick up on your LH surge every month. Let’s hope we finally get our baby number 2s. Feel very very lucky to even have one right now.

KM8 · 21/09/2023 21:46

@Cressie2 🥰

Bells3032 · 24/09/2023 11:23

So I thought my period had arrived last night. Had a bit of brown sticky bleeding but it seems to have stopped now. Still testing very very negative on a test though. Im pretty sure I'm 10dpo based on the ovulation tests. Pretty sure I'm out but is there still hope? I am so confused. With my daughter we didn't find out I was til 6 weeks as I had a short bleed and so assumed that was my period messed up by COVID

Cressie2 · 24/09/2023 14:16

It’s hard to say @Bells3032 . It could be implantation bleeding but difficult to know. I’d wait another week and test then (says she who tests loads!). Really hope it works out for you. Have you done a boots early test or a first response? X

Bells3032 · 24/09/2023 14:25

Did two first response and not even the slightest line

KM8 · 24/09/2023 14:59

@Bells3032 if the slight bleeding has stopped it could be implantation bleeding, but I know they say it's a light colour? Or it could just be old blood due to implantation. I would test again in another 3 days or so and see!

So after people recommending the clear blue digital ovulation tests, I've bought them! Yesterday I had a negative result, so was thinking today would be the same, but it's a solid smiley face meaning peak fertility??? Am I right?

Bells3032 · 24/09/2023 15:11

First day on clear blue is always negative as it's setting baseline. You need to read the instructions and start on a certain day of your cycle. If you did then yeah you probably ovulate v early and it's a peak already

FigandHoney · 24/09/2023 15:52

Hello everyone. May I join your thread?
We are on to our 2nd cycle trying for baby n2. Currently CD3.
It took us 15 months trying last time to get pregnant with our son. So not expecting things to happen fast this time.
I had promised my husband we wouldn't go crazy this time trying. As last time really took a toll on our mental health.
However I have just had a really weird cycle. With spotting and cramps from 8dpo. Was convinced we were pregnant.
And now I am starting already to feel desperate again. Tempted to test with ovulation strips, do SMEP, and the whole hog. Ergh
I did go buy us some Proceive Max Plus though. Plus Ashwaganda and Fenugreek for my husband. Anyone used those before?

fr4zzledmum · 24/09/2023 16:34

Hello 👋 We started TTC last night... 👀 after my being a solid one and done girl for the last four years (PND did me dirty). DD is 5 in January and is the loveliest girl who would be such a caring big sister.

We were lucky with TTC with her and I fell pregnant first round. I'm dubious it'll be that easy now, with my legs being in my early 30s and a good 5st heavier - so that's worrying me.

Cressie2 · 24/09/2023 16:59

Welcome @FigandHoney

@KM8 yes a solid smiley is peak. It means that your likelihood of ovulation is at its highest. The LH surge (static smiley) indicates ovulation will happen on average 12-36 hours after. So to err on the side of caution you want to have sex in the few days before (flashing smile), the day or the static smiley and two days afterwards.

Anyone else 1DPO or 2DPO?

KM8 · 24/09/2023 17:44

Thanks everyone for helping with understanding it all - definitely a newbie to the OPK's as we were so lucky to conceive quickly with our first!

Hoping we've caught a few chances within the fertile window.... 🤞🏼

Good luck to everyone trying!

SillyFillyDress · 24/09/2023 22:04

After 1 year of trying this is my first month with ovulation induction. Hormones are driving me crazy but I hope it will all work for me. It is so weird to have a schedule for sex 😅
