Anyone out there starting/continuing IVF treatment next month (April 2023)?

I’m 36, first time everything, and due to start stims early April. Wondering if there are others who might like a thread to chat/vent?

If you’re out there and in a similar position, let me know!

Congratulations on the final fyremadel @TheBirdintheCave that's excellent news! So what's happening next for you?

RunningOnHope · 07/05/2023 19:24

@CR7 it's definitely like a period, red blood and sometimes with a few bits in (sorry for tmi!) I have really heavy periods so it's not as heavy as my normal one yet, but still going strong. And it's probably heavier than DWs periods.

CR7 · 07/05/2023 19:25

@RunningOnHope I'm so sorry. No such thing as tmi on here. Hopefully the clinic will be able to get you booked in for a test to see what's going on xx

TheBirdintheCave · 07/05/2023 20:11

@RunningOnHope I'm still clinging onto some hope for you! 🤞🏻

Next for me is two trigger shots of Ovitrelle and Buserelin at 10.30 and then that's it! We're travelling into London to stay at my brother's (empty) flat on a blow up mattress tomorrow night after depositing our toddler at his house 😂 Then making the 15 minute journey to the clinic from there on Tuesday morning 😬

WholeZebra · 07/05/2023 20:11

@CR7 My fingers are firmly crossed for you! Looking forward to hearing from you tomorrow.

Our medications have arrived and are safely stored. We’ve made the decision to wait until next month to begin as we have quite a busy month with lots of travelling. So fingers firmly crossed for June this end!

WholeZebra · 07/05/2023 20:13

@TheBirdintheCave that’s so exciting. Will be thinking about you on Tuesday! How far out from London are you?

Flowerlover010 · 07/05/2023 20:19

@RunningOnHope hcg can stay in your system for a long time after a loss however people can also have significant bleeds and still be pregnant! Its a tough one to call! You will not know for definite until the clinic do a blood test and then they will do another a few days later to see if hcg is increasing. Sorry you are going through this, it is so stressful

CR7 · 07/05/2023 20:19

@WholeZebra good. Gotta be in the right head space and as stress free as possible. Make sure any fridge drugs are kept in plastic bags as some of mine touched the fridge and the boxes got wet and the drugs went a bit funny xx

WholeZebra · 07/05/2023 20:20

@CR7 fab little tip - thank you. Will go chuck them in some bags!

Excellent advice x

lemons44 · 07/05/2023 21:49

Good luck for tomorrow ladies 💗💗

Can I also ask how much progesterone people were put on? Xx

CR7 · 07/05/2023 21:57

@lemons44 I am on a pessary at night and one in the morning. I also had a progesterone test on transfer day (never had one on transfer one or two) and mine was low so I am on an a daily injection of lubion xx

TheBirdintheCave · 07/05/2023 22:27

@WholeZebra Only an hour but we don't want to take any chances with the trains so it's better to be as close as possible. We're also going to head off ridiculously early on Tuesday morning just in case 😂 I am terrified something will go wrong and all of my hard grown follicles will just disperse into nothing 😂

Not massively exciting though as nothing will actually come of it for months yet. I think the transfer will be early July ☹️

RunningOnHope · 07/05/2023 22:30

@lemons44 I'm on 400mg pessary, morning and night. I wish now I'd asked for a test too - I've always suspected my progesterone is low.

CR7 · 07/05/2023 22:32

@RunningOnHope I didn't ask for one. Had no idea they existed but it was on my protocol this time after all the investigations I had after my first two transfers failed x

CR7 · 07/05/2023 22:32

@TheBirdintheCave nothing to lose by being organised and planning everything xx

lemons44 · 07/05/2023 22:35

Thanks @CR7 and @RunningOnHope I'm only on one pessary and just a bit worried I should be on more. I may ask my clinic tomorrow

RunningOnHope · 07/05/2023 22:36

@CR7 I will have so much more to ask about at the follow up for this transfer. Definitely learned from you: "ask what they will do differently".

RunningOnHope · 07/05/2023 22:37

In completely unrelated news, does anyone remember me mentioning way back a month ago that my dream job was being advertised? Closing date on Tuesday and I've finally submitted the application tonight! It's actually been really good to have a big other project to be excited about that I do have some control over.
Now just another waiting game to see if I get an interview 😅

CR7 · 07/05/2023 22:46

@RunningOnHope sending you the very best of luck xx

Yes every time I wanted to know :

Why might it have not worked.
What have they discussed about my last protocol.
What should we do next.
What are we going to do differently next time.
What have they learned.
What can they recommend.
Do I need further tests.
What else do the clinic offer that might be relevant.

TheBirdintheCave · 07/05/2023 22:50

@RunningOnHope That's great! :D Let us know if you get an interview! 🤞🏻

Triggers all done. The jabs have been more painful over the last few days so doing three in one day was really horrid. Those thicker needles can take a running jump off a cliff 😡 Very glad it's all done with in that regard.

RunningOnHope · 07/05/2023 22:51

Saving that list, thanks @CR7.

Ah great milestone to reach, well done @TheBirdintheCave - that gruelling part is over!

CR7 · 07/05/2023 23:02

@TheBirdintheCave now it's time to relax please x

TheBirdintheCave · 07/05/2023 23:30

Ta guys :) Looking forward to a toddler free night with a takeaway tomorrow. Even if it is on an air mattress in an empty flat 😂

CR7 · 08/05/2023 07:33

Ladies. It's a positive here. Absolutely reeling. Third time lucky it appears 🥹🥹🥹
