Hey everyone!

Is anyone else trying TTC #1?

I think I’m 9DPO although my cycles vary from 28-34 days so I’m really not sure. This is my first cycle TTC so I haven’t tracked ovulation.

I took a clear blue ultra early digital test this morning and BFN, I’ve heard digitals aren’t as accurate, is that true? (The way the test was laid and how I was sat meant the ‘not’ was in the shadow so for a second I thought it just said pregnant, was gutted!)

Any advice on not driving yourself mad during the TWW? 😂

@Bluebell0921 yeah, currently got my peak today so O tomorrow but only managed to BD Sunday & tonight and then again tomorrow.
im aiming next month to not track and just go with the flow for a few months and hope that I’ve been called to gynaecology and get investigated.

oh buying a house is stressful, we bought one in october 2022 & said we’d be in the new house for starting TTC. We started TTC in feb 2023 and didn’t get into our house until June 2023.

just do what feels right for both of you, and if it means stop being careful then go for it!

woshing you all the best x

@Nmmck93 @Bluebell0921 @dormicumema @Cloud2376

Hey everyone!

It's been ages since I checked Mumsnet but just wanted to check in and see if any of you are still here? Hopefully someone has some good news?!

Nothing is new with me sadly! OH has his 2nd analysis next week, he's made some lifestyle changes but not tried supplements yet, so I'm not expecting a difference. I had a 1st appointment booked with the fertility clinic on 18th November but it's just been moved forward to 30th September, I'm shocked! 😂

We've massively chilled out with TTC, we're prioritising saving to move now, it's been nice having a bit of a mental break from it all. Obviously we're not preventing it from happening but I'm not tracking or symptom spotting, just going with the flow.

I never thought when I started this thread 21 months later it still wouldn't have happened 😅

How is everyone else?! x

@kalixxx hello! I am so glad you are doing fine and have your appointment soon!
I am actually in the middle of ivf process which is still unbelievable to me. Everything is looking really good, had a scan this morning on day 7 of stims and around 10-15 follicles that are growing , aspiration will be next week.
Feeling pains in both ovaries but it is all worth it if we get pregnant.

kalixxx · 12/11/2024 10:22

@dormicumema how are you getting on? Hoping for some good news?!

I’ve got my HyCosy in a couple of weeks, the NHS is a slow process 😅

dormicumema · 12/11/2024 11:07

@kalixxx hi Lovely, not the news we wanted jet but for now everything is ok just slow. We actually went with freeze all with 7 embryos due to ohss risk, after first bleed dr wanted to try natural fet but no ovulation due to hormona imbalance...now waiting for cycle to start so we can go for stimulated fet...cant believe its been 2 months already with no progress.
I am sorry you are waiting so much. As i understand your partners sa results werent good? I would try to push on for infertility specialist appt because thats probably the reason with you...fingers crossed for you, good luck with hycosy, take ibuprofen before!

kalixxx · 15/11/2024 09:44

@dormicumema aw I’m sorry to hear things have been moving slowly for you, hopefully soon you’ll get your BFP and all of this waiting will be worth it! What is ohss risk, there’s so many different things with conception I’m still learning new ones after nearly 2 years 😅

Yes OHs analysis was pretty poor on both tests unfortunately. We’re in very early stages with the fertility clinic. He’s has a blood test to look if there’s any genetic factors which is causing it and he’s also being referred to a urologist although we haven’t heard anything on that yet. How painful is a HyCosy, I’ve been scared to google!

OP posts:
dormicumema · 21/11/2024 12:17

@kalixxx for me almost no pain with ibuprofen! So it is male factor for you...i really hope they will start with fertility treatments soon because you waited for so long!
I finally got my period on sunday cd47 so started estrogen on monday...hopefully my lining will be good next week and then we will book first transfer!
Ohss is hyperstimulation of ovaries from all the meds...they get enlarged and can start to leak fluid something like that...

kalixxx · 27/11/2024 11:28

@dormicumema I had the Hycosy today, it wasn’t too bad but I actually thought it was more painful than I expected! Everything looks good for me though, so yes it’s only male factor.

Oh that’s so exciting things are finally starting to get moving for you. Really keeping everything crossed that you have a successful transfer and everything goes well.

Oh wow that doesn’t very nice! The things we have to go through 😓

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been on.
Still no luck on my side.
How're you all?

I had my HSG yesterday where they put the dye in to check tubes etc, my experience was horrific.
Firstly they where suppose to have me in within the first 10 days of my cycle but they weren't doing it within that time frame and had me in yesterday CD15 - it was fine until they put in the dye and the excruciating pain started I tried to go as long as I could but I was seconds from passing out. They had to stop immediately and then get a cold cloth to my head. I do think the dye was being pushed in too quick as she was told to slow down by the radiographer to start. After calming down and getting my panic attack under control. She showed me the images she got and said my left tube siezed up but some dye did go through a little bit on the left and fully through the right side. She said she doesn't see any blockages but will wait for my consultant to go through it with me soon.
About 3 hours after it I was rolling round in bed in severe pain as my strong painkillers wore off. But started to calm down. I'm just very tender today and still not 100%. Also think I'm ovulating today (predicted in app and some right sided pains) which isn't helping the pains from the HSG lol.

Not allowed to have unprotected baby dancing for at least a week as it can cause harm to baby of o where to get pregnant as the dye absorbs into soft tissue.

Has anyone else had this done and also been in the worst pain ever and that they recovered okay?

kalixxx · 04/12/2024 11:20

@Nmmck93 Hey! I’m so sorry to hear you had such an awful experience ☹️

I had my HyCosy last week as well! I’m quite good with pain so wasn’t expecting it to hurt that much but admittedly when they put the dye in I found it pretty painful! I took more ibuprofen after and just had mild cramps after but I’ve read of people being in bad pain after to so it’s not unusual, I hope you’re feeling better now! I had a little blood that day followed by quite a lot of very dark brown blood with a weird consistency, that’s settled down now.

They didn’t tell me not to BD though! Mine was CD 10 and we did BD CD 15 so I hope that’s ok, as if I’m gonna fall pregnant anyway 😅

Hope you’re doing well otherwise! We’re waiting on the clinic to follow up with my OHs blood test results for genetic testing and then I think we can have our first proper appointment, it’s such a slow process!!

kalixxx · 04/12/2024 11:21

@Nmmck93 just looked at the dates and we actually had the HyCosy on the same day!

OP posts:
Nmmck93 · 06/12/2024 19:25

@kalixxx aww HSG twins lol.
I'm fine now thankfully, but with her telling me not to BD because of the dye absorbs into soft tissue etc but I wasn't in no fit state anyways as the ovulation pains came the day after and I was in no fit state anyways. So just waiting on AF now to start the next cycle.
I'm awaiting the clinic to contact me for our first IVF appointment but here in Northern Ireland apparently it could be a long while yet so we just have to continue to try naturally.

Hopefully OH blood tests come back soon and you can get the ball rolling BUT this could be your month, you never know. Lots of baby dust to you x

kalixxx · 15/01/2025 10:37

@Nmmck93 Happy New Year lovely, hope you’re well!

The clinic finally have my OH’s genetic counselling blood test results so have booked a telephone appointment for both of us in 6 weeks time. Makes me a bit nervous that they’ve not said the results are all fine but I think this is just how they work. It’s a super long process over here as well. I first made a GP appointment in December 2023 and we’re only at this stage 😩

AF started yesterday so on to another cycle, I’ve lost count what number we’re on, possibly 25?!

How are you getting on?

Bluebell0921 · 01/02/2025 21:48

@kalixxx @Nmmck93 hello both! It’s been ages since I’ve been on here. I was just reading your updates. Any more news from either of you?

we completely stopped trying and focused on other things. I’ve since had some difficult health news so babies are well and truly on the back burner for the time being (or perhaps forever). Trying not to get too caught up about thinking about that for now.

really hoping you both get good news soon xx

kalixxx · 10/02/2025 15:54

@Bluebell0921 Hey lovely, oh I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope you’re doing ok and have lots of support around you. You never know what’s around the corner, hopefully something more positive for you and you may fall pregnant when you least expect it in the future.

No update from me. We have a telephone appointment at the end of the month with the fertility clinic. We’re not actively trying at the moment, we’re not preventing it but we’re not timing or tracking anymore. I would really like to move first now so that has become priority. AF due tomorrow and I have no doubt she’ll make an appearance!

kalixxx · 27/02/2025 21:06

@Nmmck93 @Bluebell0921 just an update from me, we had the phone call with the fertility clinic yesterday, good news is that OHs blood tests are all fine so rules out any genetic or hormonal issues. He’s still on the waitlist for a urologist appointment to look for blockages however she said we can go ahead with IVF. We’ve actually chosen to wait as we’re prioritising moving, but it’s good to know when we’re ready we can contact them and move forward with applying for funding. I’m kinda hoping OH has a blockage which can be successfully fixed and we can go on to conceive naturally, but we’ll see!

Hope you’re both well x
