Anyone else TTC #1? Just looking for TTC buddies!

Hey everyone!

Is anyone else trying TTC #1?

I think I’m 9DPO although my cycles vary from 28-34 days so I’m really not sure. This is my first cycle TTC so I haven’t tracked ovulation.

I took a clear blue ultra early digital test this morning and BFN, I’ve heard digitals aren’t as accurate, is that true? (The way the test was laid and how I was sat meant the ‘not’ was in the shadow so for a second I thought it just said pregnant, was gutted!)

Any advice on not driving yourself mad during the TWW? 😂

@Ruby030 ahhh I’m hoping AF stays away for you! I’ve not tried temping yet, I think I would probably get a bit obsessed 😅

I’m on CD26 today and I’ve had some light bleeding, my cycles are usually 29-32 days so this is very random for me. If it’s AF I’ve never been this early before, very confused!

I hope she does but I decided to do a little internal check and kind of wish I hadn’t, considering what I felt I’m pretty confident I’m out this month which sucks. Have you ovulated this cycle? Could be implantation bleeding if you have :)

Ruby030 · 17/11/2023 21:41

@kalixxx well I just do a temperature check in the morning at the same time so it’s become kind of a routine for me.

Karinx · 19/11/2023 17:22

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me joining in ☺️ This is our first cycle TTC #1. I'm currently 10DPO, have had some hopeful symptoms but testing negative at the moment. Not getting my hopes up too much, I know it will be unlikely first try but feeling excited about it all 🥰

kalixxx · 20/11/2023 11:12

@Ruby030 spotting continued Friday and Saturday then I came on yesterday, absolutely gutted as me and OH were sure this was it as I have never had spotting before ☹️

How are you getting on?

@Karinx welcome to the thread! 🥰 it’s still super early days at 10 DPO, I’ve read that 9 DPO is most common for ovulation so it’s not until 11-12 DPO that you’re likely to get a positive!

How have you found the first cycle TTC?

OP posts:
Karinx · 20/11/2023 20:03

@kalixxx thank you 🥰 I keep hearing about people that have had their BFP so early which just makes me impatient 😅 will keep testing and crossing fingers. First cycle has definitely been interesting, who knew there were so many symptoms you can pick up! And I've learned so much

Ruby030 · 21/11/2023 07:25

@kalixxx I’m sorry to hear that, it is really disappointing when you get something that you think is a good sign only to realise your body is just doing something different from what you’d normally expect that cycle. There’s always next cycle though! That’s how we try to look at it. This is a longer luteal phase for me than usual but my temperature is on its way down. I’m taking Conceive Plus ovulation support to try and get my cycles and luteal phase to a better length and it seems like they’re working which is really good. My luteal phase is normally roughly 11 days but the cycle before I conceived and this cycle it has been 14 days. I’m hoping that means odds are really good for my next cycle 🤞

@Karinx Good luck to you on your first cycle TTC. It’s really exciting isn’t it? Everyone can get a positive test at different times some people it can be really early and others it’ll only be after they’ve missed their period. For the strongest confirmation and not having to squint to see if there is a line or not it’s better to wait until the day after you’ve missed a period. I know it’s hard though I get impatient as well because I just want to know! lol

Meadows23 · 21/11/2023 11:52

Hello :)

I’ve been following this thread for a while - always hoping to see BFPs for you all.

I’ve been actively TTC for 1 year now, no preventing for 18 months. We’ve had tests done - male partner is all fine however I’ve got less than average AMH for my age and unsure whether to proceed with IVF as advised treatment sooner rather than later or whether to proceed with further investigations such as a HyCoSy.

My luteal phase is never longer than 11 days but not sure how big a deal this is!

Ruby030 · 21/11/2023 17:08

Hi :) Myself and my partner have been TTC for about the same amount of time. We considered IVF but haven’t gone down that route yet.

From what I’ve read when I’ve looked into my own luteal phase as it’s also around 11 days the same as yours some sites say that an 11 day luteal phase is on the short side. It’s not always enough time for an egg to implant before AF arrives. From my own experience as I said on my previous post the cycle before the one I conceived was a longer luteal phase at 14 days. When I’ve looked on forums there are also ladies that have conceived with an 11 day luteal phase though so it’s obviously different for everyone :)

Meadows23 · 21/11/2023 19:03

I had an appointment with a fertility consultant and then received a letter through and when they said treatment sooner rather than later it’s really thrown me - feel a bit unsure what to do next really.

I’m really glad the Conceive Plus ovulation support has been working for you and your cycle has increased to 14 days! :) I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you that you get your BFP really soon. Would you recommend those tablets? I’ve never managed to have a luteal phase longer than 11 days and I feel like if I could just get it to 14 days it would really help.

Ruby030 · 22/11/2023 07:43

It’s still up to you and your partner what you want to do though. How do you feel about IVF?

Well I got pregnant after my first full month of taking ovulation support which is when I got a 14 day luteal phase. The cycle after that where I got pregnant I ovulated a lot earlier than usual as well. As we’re back to trying I went straight back on ovulation support and I’m now on CD 15 with no bleeding and my temperature has gone back up! This is again after taking it for just over a month. So I’m out to get a pregnancy test today!

Ruby030 · 22/11/2023 07:50

I’ll let you know how it goes but yes I would definitely recommend taking them as they seem to have worked well for me personally. I take them with conceive plus fertility support as well. I would say though that I was on the fertility support supplements for a good number of months (about 5) and I only conceived after taking ovulation support as well for over a month.

Ruby030 · 22/11/2023 07:57

I’m sorry if I’m rambling I’m really excited and a bit nervous to do a test!

Ruby030 · 22/11/2023 09:53

Oh my god I just did a test I’m pregnant!!!!!

Bex4567 · 28/11/2023 04:59

Hi did any of you get ya bfp and which month

kalixxx · 16/12/2023 09:14

@Ruby030 im so sorry! I haven’t been on Mumsnet in a while but congratulations!!!! I hope everything has gone smoothly!

@Bex4567 still waiting for mine ☹️ had a BFN this morning (completely expected as we didn’t have time to DTD so only did once around ovulation). Going into cycle 13!

How is everyone getting on?

Bex4567 · 16/12/2023 11:08

kalixxx · 16/12/2023 13:37

Ruby030 · 16/12/2023 18:04

@kalixxx No worries life gets busy doesn’t it? I have a chat group I started up on fertility friend that I don’t really go on these days and I just opened it back up to find someone has been sending me messages trying to find out what’s going on and I didn’t realise. It’s all going pretty well so far I’ve had an early scan and I’m due another one after Christmas as I’m not as far along as they thought I was to check everything is progressing as they expect it to. Honestly I know everyone is excited for Christmas but I’m more excited about getting the next scan done!

I hope you get BFP soon as well I know the wait for it isn’t easy but you’ll get there. I always just got excited for trying again the next month if it didn’t happen. It was kind of the only way I could look at it really. You just have to hope.

Bex4567 · 16/12/2023 23:18

Sending u baby dust let's hope we get our bfp soon

Nmmck93 · 17/12/2023 09:44

Hey everyone, congratulations on the BFPs! Over the moon for you all.
@kalixxx i was really hoping to see a BFP from you darling! So sorry it still hasn’t happened.
i’m off my break now, currently waiting for AF to leave so I can start baby dancing again, I do think I’m gunna use the ovulation strips due to on my break my ovulation happened right after AF one month and another month it didn’t happen to like CD19 so just gunna use strips to try catch O.

we’ve been taking the pregnacare him and her vitamins during our break just so our bodies are well prepared.

im looking forward to trying again BUT I’m not looking forward to the TWW’s 🙈

dormicumema · 17/12/2023 12:36

Hey everyone, congrats @Ruby030
I am also ignoring this topic a bit, had some questions regarding hycosy so was on infertility part of mumsnet
The Only new thing is we are still on unexplained infertility diagnosis, had hycosy on Wednesday which showed opened tubes. The same day I saw my fertility specialist who suggested letrozol for 2-3 cycles and if it won't work we'll go straight to ivf.

kalixxx · 03/01/2024 09:37

Happy New Year ladies! Here’s hoping we all finally get our BFPs this year 🥲

@Nmmck93 how has your first cycle back been? How far into this cycle are you now?

I’m on CD16, not used ovulation strips as we’ve been away with family for new years so didn’t want to put too much pressure on ourselves! We did manage to DTD on CD12, 14 and 15 so we’ve given it a good go! Think we’ll try again today for good measure as I think I usually ovulate between CD14-16!

@dormicumema sorry to hear you’ve still not had your BFP ☹️

I can imagine how frustrating it is to receive an unexplained infertility diagnosis. Keeping everything crossed the letrozole works.

Where are you in your current cycle?

@Bex4567 Sending you baby dust too! Let’s hope 2024 finally brings a BFP!

@Ruby030 how are you getting on?! I hope everything is going smoothly!

@Bluebell0921 are you still looking at Mumsnet? How have you been?

Baby dust to us all ✨

@kalixxx hey, happy New Years, the only wish we have for this year is at least achieving pregnancy 🙏
I am on cd 3 and am suppose to start letrozole this evening. You definitely covered your fertile days this month! Fingers crossed for everyone! Its time to see some positives!

Nmmck93 · 03/01/2024 10:13

@kalixxx hi my lovely! Happy new year 💜 how’s it going without OPKs? I had planned to not use OPKs but ended up using them 🙈

I’m 6DPO now. ovulation on CD 14 / early hours of CD15 due to the pains lasting right through to after midnight on CD14. DTD CD10, 13 & 15 - just not confident enough.

promised myself I wouldn’t test early due to my POAS addiction. But I done one this morning and obviously negative because implantation wouldn’t even have occurred yet lol.

I had my usual pullling and twinges yesterday on my right ovary during my TWW that I always get. Going to TRY and hold out now to Sunday 10dpo to test again.

how’re you?
