Hey everyone!

Is anyone else trying TTC #1?

I think I’m 9DPO although my cycles vary from 28-34 days so I’m really not sure. This is my first cycle TTC so I haven’t tracked ovulation.

I took a clear blue ultra early digital test this morning and BFN, I’ve heard digitals aren’t as accurate, is that true? (The way the test was laid and how I was sat meant the ‘not’ was in the shadow so for a second I thought it just said pregnant, was gutted!)

Any advice on not driving yourself mad during the TWW? 😂

@kalixxx
I have one more clomid cycle left and then it's going to be either IUI or IVF. My husband doesn't want to do IVF since we have been trying for less than a year. He prefers to fix my hormones so that I ovulate, fix his motility and try naturally.

kalixxx · 12/10/2023 09:46

@ceruleansky How are you getting on? Hoping there’s good news? 🥰

We did an at home sperm test last night and it came back abnormal, it was only a cheap one which has mixed reviews but it’s still left us feeling very deflated 😔

@kalixxx
Hello!! Unfortunately my body stopped responding to clomid so from next cycle I'm starting on Letrozole.

Sorry about the test result. Perhaps you could get a full lab analysis if you haven't, might give you a better picture. Hoping from good news on your side.

SimplyChic · 13/10/2023 15:44

Hi everyone,

Still TTC here ☹️ also been diagnosed with PCOS recently so feeling rather low and having a little break with it

dormicumema · 13/10/2023 22:55

Hey guys. Unfortunately none of us here has any good news yet 🤔 😕
I had an appointment with obgyn today. It is officially 1year + 1month of ttc so we are put in the infertility box, which made me cry today :(
Anyways, going to do one more round of bloods next week and going to come again with the results to check on the ultrasound how my follicle is looking.
Dr said because my blood work was fine and the SA as well I might prosper with hycosy... The plan is to do it next month so fingers crossed... The only thing I'm afraid of is endometriosis because I have painful periods that are on heavier side... Painful like I have to take max dose of ibuprofen for the first 48 hours... Super scared of it

CRbear · 14/10/2023 16:56

Still TTC here too. Had a miscarriage at 9 weeks about a month ago and no sign of ovulation yet. Feeling really deflated.

kalixxx · 15/10/2023 10:58

Sad to see there’s a lot of us still here TTC, let’s hope that changes for us all soon! 😔

@ceruleansky oh no, hopefully your body responds better to the Letrozole. I’ve read lots a positive things during my time on these threads!

I think we’re going to get a full analysis done and just hope the test was wrong as it was only cheap.

@SimplyChic ah I’m sorry to hear! There is so so much they can do to assist though so try not to feel too deflated, I know that’s so much easier said than done though. Hopefully a little break is what you need to come back with a positive mindset. Let us know how you get on, I’ll probably still be in the concept thread at this rate 😅

@dormicumema It’s crazy how many of us are still here isn’t it! That’s great that your blood work came back good. Fingers crossed that next month will be your month, try and be excited that you’re trying something new that could well work! Again it’s so much easier to say be positive than actually being positive isn’t it!

I’m fast approaching the 1 year mark so I know how you feel, I never thought it would take this long when I started this thread!

@CRbear Sad to see you’re still here too, I remember you being one of the first to post on this thread and we’re still here!

I’m so sorry for your loss, I hope you’re doing ok. Im so scared for when it does happen to wait this long and end up misscarrying. Don’t they say you’re most fertile after a miscarriage? Keeping every thing crossed for you!

Bluebell0921 · 15/10/2023 11:10

@kalixxx sorry I’ve taken so long to reply! Completely forgot to check mumsnet. I’m pretty sure you are always entitled to statutory maternity pay regardless of how long you’ve been working as long as you give the correct notice to your employer. The employers maternity pay policy will be individual to them so worth checking the company you are applying for. Hope that helps 🙂

Bluebell0921 · 15/10/2023 11:13

Apologies @kalixxx i got that wrong! You have to earn £123 a week and have worked there for 26 weeks by the time you 25 weeks pregnant I think?! It’s on the gov website!

kalixxx · 15/10/2023 11:28

@Bluebell0921 that’s ok! Are you still taking a break from TTC? How are things with you? ☺️

That’s what I read but found it a bit confusing! So essentially you can get pregnant 1 week after starting? Or is that wrong? I’m really torn between staying in my current job and finding something else.

Nmmck93 · 15/10/2023 14:14

Hi Girlies!

so upsetting to see everyone still TTC’ing with no poisitives! Hopefully there will be an influx of positives soon 💜
im on month two of taking a break and it feels so much longer than that, I’m itching to get back into actively trying.
i’m not sure when to start back up, was thinking December, my only reason for taking a break is because I’m bridesmaid at a wedding in July next year and didn’t want to have just given birth of be a full 9 months pregnant 🙈 so I’m trying to work out when will to start back up.

hoping everyone has their two lines soon! ❤️❤️❤️

Bluebell0921 · 18/10/2023 19:56

@kalixxx its really confusing isn’t it but I think that’s what it sounds like?? I’ve gotta be honest I was so unhappy where I was I just felt that 1. That couldn’t be helping my chances of getting pregnant and 2. Having to work there during pregnancy and going back after birth just felt impossible and I felt I wouldn’t be in a good position mentally so that really helped me go for it. I’m also in quite a good position that I work for a large organisation so my work maternity wouldn’t be affected by moving roles within the org. I’m honestly so much happier now. I’m loving the job so much that it’s making me want to put off TTC for longer. I think I plan to see how I feel in the NY but it’s been so good for me to pause.

@Nmmck93 how are you feeling about the break?

Nmmck93 · 19/10/2023 13:16

@Bluebell0921 its going okay, I got a new job but only temporary until June and not as many hours as I would like BUT I’m happy in the job and enjoying it so hoping there will be a place for me again after the summer break.
were both mentally in good spirits and the break was deffs needed as we put so much stress on us. We’re being careful around fertile week and then not protecting outside of fertile week.
the past week though I’ve had some vivid dream of me being pregnant and giving birth to a little girl! I can’t wait to start trying again. We’re thinking the first month or two we’re not gunna track with OPKs and just go for it. 🙈

I see your the same with finding the break okay for you.

Bluebell0921 · 21/10/2023 19:12

@Nmmck93 it sounds like the break has been good and your ready to go for round 2. I think when we start up I’ll try to step back from the OPK testing too for as long as I can help it. Have you decide when you might start trying again?

I thought I was doing really well. Found out this morning that my sister in law is pregnant and I was so shocked I burst out crying (not in front of her luckily). Wow it’s such an emotional rollercoaster!

Nmmck93 · 31/10/2023 14:05

@Bluebell0921 sorry for the late reply! 💜
yeah I’m so ready for round 2, I’m approaching fertile week in the coming days so will probably give this one a miss then start back up in December.
only thing is, I ovulate 2 days before my 30th birthday so won’t be able to drink just to be safe so will probably spend my birthday baby dancing and chilling out lol.

aw yeah, I understand, I’ve had a lot of people announce pregnancies & then my sister in law knows we’ve been trying and then over the weekend she was boosting about how she got pregnant her first month and after her son was born in the summer she went and got contraception because she knew she would get pregnant so quick again, some people just are so insensitive and the fact she knew we where struggling and continued to boast. 🙄

kalixxx · 07/11/2023 11:39

Hey everyone!

Sorry I've been checking mumsnet a lot less, been really chilling out with TTC recently (still trying, but not obsessing!)

I'm currently on CD16, I stopped using OPKs but started to again randomly yesterday and today, both had a good line but not enough to say it was positive.

We DD on CD14 but have been so busy that's all we managed, will do again tonight! Randomly I've had tiniest bit of bleeding after DD, started very faint pink and is now very faint brown. I've never ever bled mid-cycle so a little bit worried something is going on, has this happened to anyone before? Sorry if this is TMI but it did suddenly hurt in a position we've not really done before, like it pushed something, is that normal? I've been googling but then I get scared it's something serious (I'm a worrier health wise 😅)

How is everyone doing!

Ruby030 · 07/11/2023 12:58

We’re TTC first baby, I’ve actually got a question I went in a steam room for 10 minutes yesterday and I’m just before ovulation. I’m worried this is going to have caused a problem with any sperm I have in my system from BD’ing and what it’ll mean for TTC this month. Any thoughts?

kalixxx · 07/11/2023 13:18

@Ruby030 welcome to the thread!

I read quite a bit about this at the start of TTC because I was booked in for a spa and a lot of people said not to worry and just enjoy yourself! I didn’t conceive that month but then I didn’t conceive the other 10 months so I highly doubt that had anything to do with it 🤣 I can’t remember the actual science but it wasn’t enough to put me off using the steam room or jacuzzi so it must have said it was fine.

OP posts:
Ruby030 · 07/11/2023 20:28

Thanks for the welcome I only started reading about it after the fact when I thought to myself maybe I shouldn’t have gone into a steam room. Of course it was a little late by then 😅 lol

Thankyou though that’s good to hear anyway :)

Nmmck93 · 08/11/2023 10:22

@kalixxx hi lovely! Hope you’re keeping well!

I haven’t been keeping an eye on Mumsnet as much as I’m on my break but starting up again next month.

I wouldn’t worry toooo much about the bleeding at the minute until it’s more common.
before my two endo operations I bled everytime we did the deed which is a symptom - now I only spot light pink if it was too rough, or not fully aroused. Also find that some positions that aren’t very comfortable causes spotting so could have been the new position so maybe leave that position for a while and see how you get on.

hope to be back on here a lot more next month as we’ll be back actively trying next month and I’m excited to get back at it. 💜 hopefully this month is your month. ❤️

kalixxx · 10/11/2023 18:03

@Ruby030 how far are you in this cycle? ☺️

@Nmmck93 wow time flies, I can’t believe it’s next month you’ll be starting back up TTC! Hopefully the break has done you good and you’ll get lucky for your first month back!

I stopped bleeding after a few days, worry over! I think it was the certain position just pushed something inside me, will be avoiding that one from now on 🤣

I’m not sure when I ovulated,
sometime between Sunday and Wednesday, so I’m officially into the TWW!

My OH had this appt moved so it’s in a couple weeks he’s speaking to the GP about his at home test with the abnormal result. Hoping we can get the ball rolling even though it’s been 11 months, 1 month early can’t hurt can it 😅

OP posts:
Ruby030 · 10/11/2023 18:58

I’m 3DPO so I’ve got a little wait until I know what’s going on. I’ve got everything crossed though!

Nmmck93 · 12/11/2023 13:53

@kalixxx oh the break has been great for the mental health for both of us and we’re so excited to start up again.

Yeah was deffs just the position then.
oh fingers crossed you will have that positive this month! 💜

hoping the tests go okay! I wouldn’t rely on the at home tests just yet as sometimes they can be so off! I’m sure one month wouldn’t make a difference. Fingers and toes crossed for you.

im giving it until Feb March before my partner goes and gets his tests done and I’ll get mine redone. 🙈

kalixxx · 17/11/2023 08:21

@Ruby030 how are you getting on? You must almost be at 14 DPO now!

@Nmmck93 that’s so good, you’ll feel so much better coming back to it with a fresh mind!

I completely freaked out when we did the home test but I’m trying to not think about it now!

I’m 12 DPO, maybe less actually as I couldn’t pin point ovulation and had the urge to POAS, but I’ve only got one test and it’s not an early one so did an OPK. It’s got a line but defo not positive. But then I have no idea if that’s normal at this time anyway. So that was a bit of a waste 😅

OP posts:
Ruby030 · 17/11/2023 20:30

@kalixxx I’m at 10 DPO at the moment but my cycle’s generally last about 11 days so I’ll see if my temperature drops tomorrow. I’m getting some pain in my lower back and abdomen that feels like it might be the start of AF as it’s at that time in my cycle which is not a great sign. I’ll know for sure by tomorrow as I’ll see a crash in my BBT if this is period pain.
