Hey everyone!

Is anyone else trying TTC #1?

I think I’m 9DPO although my cycles vary from 28-34 days so I’m really not sure. This is my first cycle TTC so I haven’t tracked ovulation.

I took a clear blue ultra early digital test this morning and BFN, I’ve heard digitals aren’t as accurate, is that true? (The way the test was laid and how I was sat meant the ‘not’ was in the shadow so for a second I thought it just said pregnant, was gutted!)

Any advice on not driving yourself mad during the TWW? 😂

Hi all, hope you don’t mind me jumping on this thread! On cycle 13 of ttc baby number 1, never had a bfp, had all the tests etc and all normal so now fall into unexplained infertility diagnosis. Really hoping 2024 can be our year! 🤞🤞🤞

Bex4567 · 03/01/2024 15:34

Hoping we get our bfp soon.im still here just going into cycle 6.. age 37 so worried times against me..going to not track or try and stress this month and see how things go..and try and enjoy dtd as it was becoming very robotic doing it every day...hope we get our bfps soon

Bluebell0921 · 03/01/2024 16:29

Hello all!

sending you best wishes for this new year!

@kalixxx I completely forgot about mumsnet but just thought to check. Really loving my new job and it’s been great to have a break. I was offered an interview for a promotion but realistically if I went for it I’d have to delay a baby for at least a year if not more so I decided to turn it down. It was a really hard decision. I find myself worrying what if I don’t get pregnant and then I’ve turned down a great opportunity but I felt that I’d regret not trying more so I cancelled it. I have some exciting training over the next year as part of my current role that my work is paying for and finishes in December so I think I’ll aim to start trying in April again. I’m kind of dreading it!

My SIL is pregnant and it’ll be the first grandchild so lots of focus on baby talk this Christmas. I’m very pleased for them but I do always find myself feeling a bit uncomfortable.

Nmmck93 · 04/01/2024 12:28

Hi everyone.

7dpo today Tested and this line came up within 2 minutes but there seems to be no colour but also had to use a flashlight for picture but can be seen in the daylight with the naked eye.
putting it as a possible evap as its now been half hour after the test and line can barely be seen.
thankfully, I didn’t get my hopes up at all. But now I’ve lost all faith in boots 5 day early tests.

hopingforapeainapod · 04/01/2024 16:35

Hi @Nmmck93 really difficult to say but surely 7dpo is far too early anyway - most eggs won’t have even implanted by this stage? Don’t count yourself out yet!

Ruby030 · 04/01/2024 21:34

@kalixxx Unfortunately things aren’t going well. This pregnancy isn’t working out and we’re just trying to get things sorted at the moment so we can move on. We’re booked in to have some tests done to see if I have any problems and hopefully that will help us take steps to try and make sure this doesn’t happen again.

Bluebell0921 · 05/01/2024 20:54

@Nmmck93 it’s still really early lovely! Don’t count yourself out just yet.

@Ruby030 so sorry to hear that. Sending lots of love. Wishing you luck with the testing and hope they give you some reassurance.x

kalixxx · 09/01/2024 10:46

@dormicumema same wish for us! I really hope this year is it for both of us! How are you getting on with Letrozole?

@Nmmck93 pleaseeee tell me that this turned out to be a BFP?!! 7DPO is super early but really hoping this was the start of something!

I'm 8 DPO, we don't have any tests in the house so I'm going to try and hold off buying any. I think this is the first month in a while we've really focused on timing DTD as much as poss so I'm hoping we stand a better chance this month.

@Bluebell0921 I'm so please to hear that you're still loving your new job, hopefully that's been taking your mind off the misery of TTC! I completely sympathise with you on having to put your life on hold. I'm kind of window shopping new jobs at the moment, having a look but not really applying to any because I just don't want the ordeal of getting a new job then finally falling pregnant. On the other hand am I just wasting opportunity because I might not fall pregnant anyway! 😓

It's so hard isn't it, of course you're happy but it's really hard to be around when no one else knows what you're going through!

@hopingforapeainapod Hey! We're in the exact same boat, also on cycle 13 and still yet to see a BFP! That's great that your tests came back normal but I can imagine equally frustrating that you can't directly try and fix the problem.

I have a telephone appt at the end of the month with my GP, depending on waiting times though we might have some private tests done.

Where are you in this cycle?

@Bex4567 I really hope this is our year! DTD on planned days is something I'm really struggling with, it's not bothering my OH but like you said I find it very robotic and feeling like I have to puts me off if you know what I mean.

How far into this cycle are you?

@Ruby030 Oh I'm so sorry to hear that, I hope you and your OH are coping well. Hopefully the test results can give you some answers and reassurance that you need. Sending lots of love x

@kalixxx I’m CD20 - decided to have a break from tracking this month so haven’t used OPKs or BBT, but judging by other symptoms I should have ovulated CD12-14, so that would put me between 6-8DPO I think? So in the dreaded TWW. A friend of mine just announced her pregnancy this morning so I’m feeling pretty low and despairing about it all to be honest. Whereabouts in your cycle are you? X

Bex4567 · 09/01/2024 14:10

I'm currently on month 6 ttc and in my fertile week..I've not tracked anything this month we're just doing it as and when every other day really but it's so hard when ya trying to enjoy it and feel we have to do it ...

kalixxx · 09/01/2024 16:07

@hopingforapeainapod I’m the same, I’ve not tracked either but I’d say I’m probably also 6-8 DPO!

It’s bittersweet isn’t it others announcing their pregnancy. What I find really hard is that no one knows what you’re going through!

@Bex4567 looks like we’re all taking a relaxed approach this month, I’ve not tracked either.

I’ve honestly started to dread fertile week for this reason, just feels like a lot of pressure!

I find the first half of the 2ww worst..hopefully one of us will get a bfp this month

kalixxx · 10/01/2024 07:46

@Bex4567 i know what you mean because it’s still so long until you can actually find out. I’m going to try and not test this month, I don’t have any in the house so it should be easier!

Hoping its both of us that get our BFP!

@kalixxx hey, today im cd 9/10, feel pretty ok. Tomorrow I'll go for ultrasound to see if there are Any follicles developing. I have some spotting that started on Monday, after my period ended which i read can be due to letrozole reducing estrogen levels... thats the only side effect i noticed

Bex4567 · 10/01/2024 13:31

Fingers crossed for you too hun

Nmmck93 · 10/01/2024 15:47

@kalixxx sorry I've been a bit MIA. I've been. So busy with work.
Unfortunately no BFP here, got another one of those lines on the second day boots early response from the pack at the beginning of the week. Due on tomorrow and I definitely know I'm out with all my usual PMS symptoms. We're getting my partners sperms checked in March or April if nothing by then and going to get my tests redone. Just feeling chappy about it all. We've been religiously taking pregnancare for me and him for 6 months ths even in out 2 month break.

How're you doing lovely?

Bex4567 · 10/01/2024 18:06

Hey did u retest again op

Lunamoon23 · 10/01/2024 19:03

Hello! I was apart of the group a short while ago but we put TTC on pause because of a family member falling very poorly. First month trying back for me - not been the best first attempt. I've figured my cycle out and continued to track even when we weren't trying to I know roughly when each month. And this week was my fertile week, we had sex Saturday, Sunday Monday BUT my DH didn't manage to ejaculate any of those times. This is not normal for him and he thinks him knowing that they were the times that 'mattered' he almost got stage fright and literally just couldn't. Luckily, yesterday I got my peak test and we managed to have sex last night successfully. And I believe today is ovulation day. But I don't think we've done enough this month sadly. Next month I won't tell him haha - lesson learnt.

Fingers crossed for all you ladies!!

kalixxx · 12/01/2024 15:11

@dormicumema how did the ultrasound go? Hoping for good things for you!!

@Nmmck93 ahh I was so hoping that would be your BFP ☹️ has AF arrived yet?

I’ve not heard of the boots tests having lines like this, I thought we could trust the boots ones!

I’ve got a telephone appt at the end of the month as we had to cancel last months. I’m not sure how it all works but I hope it won’t be too long until we can have some tests at least.

@Lunamoon23 welcome back to the thread! I’m so sorry to hear about your family member, I hope you’re all doing ok.

It’s funny how the mind works isn’t it! I struggle to get into it during fertile week because I know that we have to DTD so it feels forced.

Dont count yourself out though, it only takes one time for it to happen!

Keeping everything crossed for you!

Nmmck93 · 12/01/2024 21:22

@kalixxx aww I'm praying your phonecard goes well but more so that you get your BFP this cycle for you!
Yeah I've lost all faith in the boots ones now.
AF showed today at 15 dpo. I woke up and no sign and I was like omg maybe this is it, but nope. Came this afternoon.

We've agreed that we're both going to get tested again in May. (Partners first time but it'll my second bloodwork for the 21 day tests) so hoping I get my BFP before that.

I'll probably be off the thread now until after ovulation but I will keep checking for you girls.

Please even private message me on here if that's a thing to let me know how things go xx

dormicumema · 12/01/2024 22:42

@kalixxx (unfortunately) only one follicle at 13mm, was hoping for two to increase my chances...he basically said to try the same dosage every other cycle until July and if nothing happens then it will be ivf for me... he said since we are healthy and i'm soon 29 there is no rush so when we hit 2 year mark it will be time to intervene. He doesnt see a point for iui because everything looks normal.
Honestly, we will maybe do some more testing privately (dna fragmentation, maybe an mri scan for me to rule out endo), it feels like an eternity right now, I dont know how i will manage 6 more months

Ruby030 · 13/01/2024 10:21

@Bluebell0921 thanks I think we need to know what’s going on and if there’s a problem for our own peace of mind. It’s just concerning when we thought everything was fine because there was no sign of any problem at all. It’s only when we had our second scan done that we realised what had happened. The way we look at it is that if tests are done and nothing is found to be wrong then we’ve just been really unlucky plus the nhs will do things differently for us next time round which will hopefully help but if something is wrong we can do something about it. So either way our chances of everything going smoothly next time should be a lot better.

@kalixxx I’m not going to lie it’s been hard. It’s unfortunately not the first time this has happened. We’re looking at our next steps and moving forward though :)

Bluebell0921 · 14/01/2024 10:35

@Ruby030 that all sounds really sensible and like you said if everything is fine you have that reassurance and they’ll keep a closer eye on you. Keep us updated lovely xx

kalixxx · 15/01/2024 15:22

@Nmmck93 oh I’m so sorry to hear AF arrived 😔

Really hoping you get your BFP before May! At least you’ve had a bit of reassurance that your first ones were fine.

I’m CD28 today, my cycle is usually 29 days but it’s not uncommon for it to go on a few days after so I’ll see if AF arrives this week. I’m going to try and hold off testing until Friday!

I dont know if you can private message! If I can’t I’ll keep you updated on here though! ❤️

@dormicumema ah I’m sorry to hear, still keeping everything crossed that you’ll still get your BFP this month.

I hate how this is all a waiting game. 2 weeks to ovulation, then 2 weeks to find out. Long waits for doctors appts! I really sympathise with you, 6 months does seem a long time but hopefully you’ll get your BFP before then.

Keep us updated!

@Ruby030 you sound like you’re getting though it ok, I hope you had lots of people to support you!

Its so hard to be positive but keep believing that it will all work out for you soon x

CD30 and I’ve started bleeding, starting to feel really deflated now and like this will never happen.

Here goes cycle 14 😔
