So I thought I'd start a group for anyone like me who just has had a bit of a bumpy ride TTC baby number 1 and is looking for others who understand how that feels and want to hang out until we get our BFPs!

Cycle #7 for us, one chemical pregnancy cycle 5, and wondering if we even have a chance through this heatwave and what it does to sperm 🙈

Looking forward to chatting ❤️‍🩹

Welcome @Magix86 sorry to hear you're finding things a bit difficult 😔 I've found talking and sharing with the lovely girls on here a great help so hopefully it helps you too 😊 how long have you been TTC?

Magix86 · 19/07/2022 12:59

Thanks @RugbyGirl1 ! I'm sure it will be helpful 🙂

Have been trying for 8 months, which I know is still very early days but just worried about my age really (36 this year). Had treatment last year for cervical ectropion but I'm not sure that should really affect things too much. Just had day 3 bloods done and should be ovulating early next week so fingers crossed for this month 🤞🏻

RugbyGirl1 · 19/07/2022 13:23

@Magix86 I know what you mean - I was 36 a month ago so we're similar! We've been trying for 19 months now, although more cycles, as like you mine are a little on the shorter side at 27 days. I had one early miscarriage at 7 weeks in September last year but other than that, not a single BFP. It can be disheartening and mentally and physically draining. Have you told anyone you know you're TTC? Are you having any other bloods done? I'm due to ovulate early next week too - 🤞 for us this our month!

Magix86 · 19/07/2022 13:35

@RugbyGirl1 I guess the one positive of shorter cycles is you don't have to wait too long to try again 🙃
I'm very sorry to hear about your miscarriage and how long your journey has been so far. It's tough all round isn't it.
Yes I'll be going back for 21 day bloods (more likely to be day 18 for me I think...really need to try and work out the day I ovulate this month!) They've also referred me for an ultrasound. Only one friend knows but I don't talk to her about it much.
Ah similar timing for next week...this could be the month for both of us 🤞🏻🙏🏻

RugbyGirl1 · 19/07/2022 14:39

@Magix86 good luck with your day 21 bloods - no idea why they still call them that! At least your doctor was aware that not everyone ovulates on day 14, some seem to have real trouble understanding that not everyone has a perfect 28 day cycle!

Magix86 · 19/07/2022 14:45

@RugbyGirl1 I actually had to post on here about the bloods because my GP confused me 😅
The GP told me to have the first test within 7 days of my period, and the second one 7 days before my period is due. So I wasn't actually sure at all how to manage it. Thank goodness for sites like this! 😂

ZoeQ90 · 19/07/2022 15:04

Trying for almost a year now but had a miscarriage at Easter so in terms of waiting for help, I guess we're only on cycle 3. Finding it quite hard.

Angie2018 · 20/07/2022 08:51

Hey @RugbyGirl1 how are you doing? Sorry for the the late reply I had to wallow in self pity for a few days as I am not hopeful 🤣

That's good you've had tests done and they are all ok. Sometimes it does just take time! It's hard when you want something so much.

We have decided that tests will start October for us. OH has two kids from a previous so I know his sperm has been fine, I suspect it's not as good with age but he's on plenty of supplements and a good diet to support sperm so I'd be surprised if it came back as inadequate.

I've also been pregnant twice very young so I know at one time I had good eggs 🤣 my cycles are 26 day regular, normal FP and LP, ovulate between CD11-13 each month with 5 days of EWCM & ovulation pain. Temp charts look normal so I would like to think I'm ok.

Who knows though there is no guarantee is there!!

I am technically 3dpo right now but I ovulated at night so will be 4dpo at like midnight. 🙈🙈

What about you? How's SMEP going?

Ah I see, I can see why they would want all the vape chemicals out of his system.

I mean it could be the vaping stopping natural conception. Would he stop it?

Hey!! Cervical ectropions don't affect fertility lovely! I had one and had treatment and got pregnant two cycles ago (ended in chemical) I've spoken with a doctor and gynae and both said that ectropions have no impact whatsoever it's just soft cells. I'm currently cycle 7 & 33 years old.... feel stressed and worried it's never going to happen too!!

And 27 days is a perfect cycle length, stats in 28 day cycles as very low in actual fact, it's only an average. Your cycles are considered normal if they range between 21-40 days! Ideal LP is 12-14 days and an ideal follicular phase is between 11-27 days depending on cycle length. X

@Harper02 how are you?? Have you had your peak yet?? I am 3/4dpo today. Feel like a normal day. I am certainly not holding out hope this cycle x

Angie2018 · 20/07/2022 09:08

@Magix86 hey lovely to chat to you! Course you can join, welcome 🥰 just remember that many women have children way into their 40s so 35 isn't actually old at all. You are by no means too late! I'm 33 so totally get the whole body clock ticking though but yeah you are certainly in a good age bracket! I am also TTC #1. 25 day cycles are totally normal btw! Do you have any known issues?

OP posts:
Magix86 · 20/07/2022 09:31

@Angie2018 thank you! So lovely to see your positivity 😊 I think the age thing just gets to me as I've always thought I'd have children a lot earlier and it's all I've ever wanted really. It doesn't help seeing literally everyone around me having babies! 🙈
Thank you for sharing about your ectropion too - good to know it doesn't cause any issues. They did say I had a very thick endometrium though....I'm not sure exactly what this means or how problematic it is. Apart from that I don't have any known problems. Waiting to go for my day21 bloods and an ultrasound so will see what happens with that.
Cd4 today so will start on the OPK's tomorrow morning and dtd from tonight onwards....🤞🏻

Angie2018 · 20/07/2022 15:42

@Magix86 ah bless you! I have my down days and my up days! I slept well last night as I've had about 3 days of rubbish sleep so it effects me mentally. So today is a better day I guess! I have to admit I am the same, I thought I'd have kids way before now like 8 years ago or something!! And yep all my friends are having babies now too. It's horrible that feeling when you want something so much yet it's not happening. Good luck with your bloods keep us posted! I guess it will depend on how thick it is did they tell you?

OP posts:
Essexgalttc · 20/07/2022 15:59

I hope everyone is doing well today
I’m currently 2DPO
I’m experiencing up and down days
I find it harder when friends announce pregnancies or when you feel like everyone is pregnant but you (of course they’re not but it feels like it!)
Its so awful when you have expectations on how trying for a baby will be, it hasn’t been how I expected at all and that’s been hard to accept

Angie2018 · 20/07/2022 16:43

Hey @Essexgalttc how are you? I am 3/4dpo today. I'm right there with you on the ups and downs.... I'm having a neutral day today, don't feel particularly positive nor negative, just meh 🫤

Totally agree it's so hard when others announce they are pregnant or I see bumps out and about it hurts my heart!

Totally agree, we were so naive and thought in 3 months max 6 I'd be pregnant! Then Covid came along badly and stole 3 months off us! Here we are cycle 7 not knowing again 🙈🙈

OP posts:
Magix86 · 20/07/2022 17:40

@Essexgalttc feel exactly the same! I feel like I spent so long when I was younger trying NOT to get pregnant that I somehow believed that whenever was the right time it would just happen straight away! Such a roller coaster of emotions. It's great having that support here to help see you aren't alone in feeling that way.
@Angie2018 just to answer about the thickness....they said it was 15mm which my GP reacted very strongly to so made me feel like it's a huge problem but I don't know why 😔

Harper02 · 20/07/2022 19:16

@Angie2018 hey hey. I'm currently peaking, woohoo🥳 think I'll ovulate tonight/tomorrow. My ovary is OUCHHHH though🫣 how are you? Is it still hot where you are? Xx

Angie2018 · 20/07/2022 19:48

@Magix86 apparently a normal thickness is between 5-14mm and over 8mm is optimal but I've read the thicker it is the better for implantation?! I'm a bit concerned with mine maybe because my periods are only 3 days long but third day os a tiny hit of spotting. First day is heavy though like really heavy and second day is heavy. But I get worried as some people have 5 day periods. 🙈 there's always something to worry about though!!

OP posts:
Angie2018 · 20/07/2022 19:50

@Harper02 heyyy! Oh wow that's amaze! So happy for you!! Get BDing away 😁 I am 4dpo now. I'm not hopeful though. But what will be will be I've kinda given up hoping now and can't control it so just need to let it be xx

@Angie2018 ahh see I've never discussed anything about thickness or what's normal, good bad etc! Have you had any scans or anything? I only have 3 days bleeding too! First and second day extremely heavy and the most painful cramps 😫 I honestly can't do anything on those days cos the pain is so intense. I think 3 days is OK though, the length of bleeding just varies from person to person I think so I'm not sure that's anything to worry about 🙂

Harper02 · 20/07/2022 20:21

@Angie2018 eeek can't believe you're 4dpo already! Hope the tww flies in for you🤞🏼 ok trying to ✨stay calm✨ this month 🙃🤣 when is af due? Xx

Also on the bleeding thing, I bleed for 3 days now while I'm on clomid (used to be 5-6 days) and I think it's normal! My Consultant doesn't have any concerns, my thickness was fine at CD9 scan

Essexgalttc · 20/07/2022 21:00

@Angie2018 it is so hard isn’t it! Me and my best friend both conceived in Feb… I lost my twins in April and her pregnancy is (thankfully) continuing. She’s now planning her baby shower and buying clothes and I’m still grieving and ttc. I am happy for her but it is so difficult at times!
I’m not feeling hopeful this cycle either. We missed a bit of BD during fertile window and whilst there’s still a chance I’m not holding out much hope.

Also does anyone else feel like the TWW is a killer? Im constantly wondering if I’ll be pregnant or when to test even from like 5dpo! It drags!

Angie2018 · 20/07/2022 22:09

@Magix86 yeah I think you are right, as long as you bleed 2-5 tablespoons of blood each month then you are considered normal. I definitely think I am well within that range. Apparently two days period is normal it's more about the amount of blood so think all ok. That's not good about pains that bad, that must be tough. Have they said anything about that to you? I think that is actually associated with a thicker uterus lining. We've not had anything done yet. Will do in October if we have no luck by then! My partner has two teenage kids, I've been pregnant twice before when really young and we've had a chemical together two cycles ago so we both have been fertile in the past. So I'd be surprised if there was anything major but who know 🙈🤯 we had Covid in March and they say sperm take a full 3 months to recover so I think we lost 3 months to that. I did have an internal examination in March when I had ectropian treatment and she said everything looks perfect. But I've not had scans so she won't have seen my ovaries nor inside. I just hope we've been unlucky! I'm sure we will get our BFPs soon x

@Harper02 ah thank you!! It's going quick to be fair il be 5 dpo tomo so not far from the implantation window. Good for you to trying to stay calm. I also feel calm, just because I've accepted I will be disappointed again 🤣 AF is due 31st for me. Ah thanks for letting me know about the bleeding thing. That's good to know. Is everything good on your side is your consultant happy? Xx
