TTC#1 taking longer than expected... support group

So I thought I'd start a group for anyone like me who just has had a bit of a bumpy ride TTC baby number 1 and is looking for others who understand how that feels and want to hang out until we get our BFPs!

Cycle #7 for us, one chemical pregnancy cycle 5, and wondering if we even have a chance through this heatwave and what it does to sperm 🙈

I'm CD13, due to ovulate CD17 so in the DTD phase! Planning on DTD Saturday, Monday and Tuesday at the least... Hopefully that will be covering all bases.

@Harper02 oh bless you! Don't worry! Good luck in the TWW! I am 7dpo today and have no symptoms whatsoever so I am certainly not hopeful xx

Hope everyone's doing OK! I'm not feeling too positive about this month either now...get my third flashing smiley today on cd8. Probably going to get the solid smiley tomorrow. We dtd already Wed, Thurs and Fri. Won't do it again now until Mon night and then again Wednesday. Just feel like we should be doing it more!

@Magix86 don't count yourself out yet! It only takes once! How come you can't DTD this weekend? If you haven't had your peak yet though I wouldn't overly worry as long as you DTD from your peak for a few days!!

@Magix86 yay 🤞🏼 hope you get your solid smiley soon. Btw my Consultant told me not to dtd for any more that two days in a row because the count will be significantly lower🤔 you've done plenty though, fingers crossed for you. How long is your luteal phase? Xx

Just so frustrating! He is away for the weekend 😔 looking back I realise we've always dtd from the end of my period up until my peak but think the peak day is always the last day we have dtd. then we've tended to stop at that point... So perhaps that's where we've gone wrong before! I realise ovulation is after the peak too so actually maybe this is a better plan this time 😅

@Magix86 yes you're right :) we do every other day until my peak, then peak day and day after. They always say it's better to have sperm waiting up there ready to go!🤞🏼

My sister is currently 14 weeks and on her ovulation week they dtd once (a few days before O) as her hubby was away in England! It's making me try and not stress about having sex on specific days etc because if it's meant to happen it will🤞🏼

@Harper02 thank you. That's helpful to hear your consultant told you that...I keep hearing different things about every day being better vs every other day being better! Maybe the breaks in between days this month will be a good thing 🤞🏻
I'm not exactly sure as I struggle to tell the exact day I ovulate. But I get the peak either cd9 or cd10 and my cycle is between 25 and 28 days...last month I got the peak cd9 and cycle was 25 days. I find it a bit confusing working out dates and luteal phase if I'm honest 😒

@Magix86 sorry I posted over you there. I get scans to check on my follicle so I always come away with a 'recipe' as she calls it lol - the days to have sex and she's always bang on with ovulation day!! Have you heard of the easy@home tests? I find them easy to use and the app is brilliant. It will tell you what dpo you are and you can see how long your luteal phase it. Mine is always 13/14 days

@Harper02 interesting about your sister! Things like that do help to stress less, you hear a lot about people conceiving at random times and only from doing it once! I've generally thought the more sperm you can get up there the better 🤣

@Harper02 I know it's just dragging now!! Hate this part when nothings happening!!

I know many people say don't have sec everyday but latest studies do show that sex everyday presents the best chances of getting pregnant. Unless you have a really low sperm count then every other day is best. Although it does only take one!! Xx

@Magix86 yes ovulation occurs after the peak so you are likely to catch it better this time for sure!!!

@Harper02 I agree though, if you have sex a couple of times during the fertile window and close to ovulation I do agree, if it's meant to happen it will!! I just get scared that by having less sex is going to mean less sperm so less of a chance!

@Angie2018 @Magix86 when you really really think about it, it's a true miracle anybody actually gets pregnant!! 🤯🙃

🤣 exactly! You can have people do every thing they can, to time it right and make it happen and then others do it once, randomly and end up pregnant. It's a lot to get my head round.

I’m not feeling hopeful this month either. I’m 6dpo and I’m almost 99% sure my AF will arrive like it’s meant too on 1st August
Does anyone else get the comments “it’ll happen when you relax, stop trying”
Or the worst “it’s a sign your body isn’t ready yet” said to be ironically by my teenage cousin who has 2 children from one night stands

Sorry to sound negative I just feel like no one understands how stressful ttc is, I feel like I’m back to square one again after my loss and almost feel like the months are going by and I’m still in the same spot!
