So I thought I'd start a group for anyone like me who just has had a bit of a bumpy ride TTC baby number 1 and is looking for others who understand how that feels and want to hang out until we get our BFPs!

Cycle #7 for us, one chemical pregnancy cycle 5, and wondering if we even have a chance through this heatwave and what it does to sperm 🙈

Looking forward to chatting ❤️‍🩹

@Roro1423 ah we do have very similar cycles then!! Ahhh I didn't realise you were 8dpo, oh I have everything crossed for you!! It's so hard not to symptom spot but honestly I've realised that the only symptom that's worth thinking about is something that's considered a change. The only month I've had a real change in symptoms after ovulation was cycle 5 when I had conceived just it ended in a chemical.

Argh I just typed a long reply then clicked on the wrong button and lost it 😂

@Angie2018 I think it's just our ages tbh. DH was told he has to stop vaping for NHS IVF so that may make a difference, we'll see. Not our time, but fingers crossed this month is!

Good luck to everyone approaching testing time!

Roro1423 · 14/07/2022 22:04

You are so right! The cycle i had a chemical i didnt have any symptoms until 12dpo.i had intense AF cramps and spotting then i got a BFP at 14dpo. This cycle I've been cramping on and off but no real symptoms at all.

dmb91 · 14/07/2022 22:44

@Angie2018 My old gp was awful! So far so good with the new one, they're actually listening to me and doing something about it!
I don't temp, my work shifts are all over the place so sometimes I finish at 11pm, sometimes I start at 5.30am so there's no way I could temp at the same time every day.

Angie2018 · 14/07/2022 22:55

@RugbyGirl1 ah that's so annoying when that happens!! Fair enough! That could be a factor. I'm 33 & OH is 43, how old are you guys?

OP posts:
Angie2018 · 14/07/2022 22:57

@Roro1423 your last chemical sounds like my symptoms too!! I can't wait to be 7dpo when I will just know if I'm out or not 🤣

OP posts:
Angie2018 · 14/07/2022 22:57

@dmb91 ah that's fair enough about the temping! Yeah that's so bad about your old GP what a joke. So glad your current one is actually listening x

RugbyGirl1 · 15/07/2022 14:39

@Angie2018 I'm 36 and DH is 41. Both fit and healthy otherwise, just the vaping to try and stop!

The range of GP responses to fertility is mind blowing. It annoys me when I'm more clued up on things than they are!

Angie2018 · 15/07/2022 15:55

@RugbyGirl1 I know I don't trust GPs tbh, they are a Jack of all trades so I just won't bother and if we need to il go privately 🙈 hoping we don't!

Is vaping bad for sperm then? My other half vapes but the nicotine is basically nothing.

We are similar ages to you, and are also pretty much fit and healthy.

@Angie2018 had my scan this morning and all is good, going to ovulate in a couple of days🤞🏼 she also told me to 'try out' OPKs this month haha🤣🤣 also got sent away with another 6 months of clomid! Happy enough 🥰 how are you today xx

Angie2018 · 15/07/2022 22:33

@Harper02 oh that's great I am
Happy for you! I suspect we will be cycle buddies this time! Are you using OPKs? Glad you are ok though. I'm ok thanks, just trying to take each day as it comes. Seem to have a good amount of EWCM and now on day 3 of that. DTD lots.... I expect a peak tomorrow afternoon. Keep us posted xx

OP posts:
Harper02 · 16/07/2022 09:55

@Angie2018 yes we might be, tww together🤞🏼🤞🏼have you used OPKs today yet? I'm going to do one before I leave and I'll see where I'm at 🤪 hope you have a lovely Saturday xx

Angie2018 · 16/07/2022 09:58

@Harper02 yea I have used them for two months in total now! I got a peak reading this morning so due to ovulate tomorrow I think! Let us know the result!! And you have a great Saturday xx

Happy Saturday everyone! I did a frer yesterday morning at 10dpo which was BFN. I’ve just noticed a bit of spotting when I wipe at 11dpo. Not noticed this before AF before so I’m not sure If I’m having a short LP

Angie2018 · 16/07/2022 19:38

@Jod30 happy Saturday!! Tbh it could be either.... 11 days is also a fine LP so even if it's not implantation bleeding don't worry about it being 11 days it's all good. If it's abnormal for you though that's a good sign 🥰

Jod30 · 16/07/2022 20:00

thanks @Angie2018 i have a niggle in my lower abdomen so pretty sure it’s the start of an early AF. Last month with my chemical I had very sore boobs so I presume I’ll get that symptom when I finally get my BFP

Angie2018 · 16/07/2022 20:01

@Jod30 not necessarily lovely, I had a chemical the cycle before you and I had light AF cramps, spotting and zero sore boobs. I always get sore boobs before AF and the lack of them made me realise it was an early AF it was implantation

OP posts:
Jod30 · 17/07/2022 16:36

@Angie2018 thats me out for this month. I woke in the night with normal red AF flow. Oddly have no sore boobs at all which I normally get when I’m due on my period. Maybe my chemical last month messed with my usual AF symptoms. Good luck to you for these next couple weeks

RugbyGirl1 · 17/07/2022 16:58

@angie

RugbyGirl1 · 17/07/2022 17:01

@Angie2018 I don't envy you with a fertile window in this heat! Oh my god the thought of BD 😳 yeah we were told no IVF on NHS if either partner vapes so I guess it does have some sort of impact on sperm

Angie2018 · 17/07/2022 18:02

@Jod30 sorry AF has come! That's annoying! I do think chemicals can mess things up a little bit as my pre AF symptoms weren't as strong the cycle after my chemical. Weird eh 🤯 thank you I appreciate that! I have no hope this cycle, I don't know why I just think it won't happen xx

OP posts:
Angie2018 · 17/07/2022 18:07

@RugbyGirl1 yeah I read up on it and it does have an impact. That will be the first thing he's got to stop if by Xmas I am not pregnant! Haha to be honest it's actually been totally fine because we have ceiling fans and so we've not felt it at all. We've actually had some quality sex tbh and lots of it 🤣🤣 I did think in this heat it would be horrible but it's been fun! Let's hope it's worked 🙈

Have you guys had any tests at all? Just to see what could be going on? I hope it's your month!!

OP posts:
RugbyGirl1 · 18/07/2022 15:26

@Angie2018 just for info, he has to be 6 months 'clean' of vaping before they'll start IVF, and go to the GP to be 'tested' monthly to ensure he's staying off the vape!

Sounds like you've got it all sorted - are you past ovulation now? Fingers crossed for you this month! Do you temp?

Yep had all the usual bloods, FSH, LH, prolactin, testosterone, thyroid, progesterone, rubella immunity (I wasn't immune so had to have the jab which means you can't TTC for a month), clymdia antibodies.... He had a SA which was ok results, nothing jumping out as particularly good or bad of that makes sense, average! Then at the fertility appointment I had a transvaginal scan with an AFC of 18 which I think is OK for my age... have you and any tests yet?

Was going to try SMEP this month and already failed at the first hurdle 🤦 cycle day 9 today, so will start tomorrow I think

Harper02 · 18/07/2022 19:50

No updates over here, negative OPKs but lots of ewcm so I guess I'll peak soon enough🤞🏼

Magix86 · 18/07/2022 22:01

Would you mind if I join? Have found some comfort reading through these messages and realising a lot of my thoughts and feelings are similar! I'm 35, ttc#1. Going for day 3 bloods tomorrow. I have a short cycle, 25 days this month 😐 and I think I ovulate around cd10. Taking vitamins and using OPK's. Just finding the whole process kind of difficult really.
