Back now as it really is lunch time!

Natalie - I think what you are feeling is quite common. Having spent a bit of time lurking on other threads, there seem to be lots of ladies who either MC an unexpected pg or think they might be unexpectingly pg, go through all the fear and shock, begin to get excited, then find they are not. In most cases it seems to make them realise the desire for another child. Unfortuately the DH's do not always understand or feel the same. Give DH time and I am sure he will come round.

3 is a lovely number of kids, I am 1 of 3 and would love 3 myself, not sure if DH agrees with that yet though, but we have both agreed to try and keep an open mind and see what happens. No way near that stage yet, haven't even started working on dc1 yet!

NatalieJane · 11/01/2008 13:42

I think along with what I was saying about rushing into it, DH thinks a lot more practically than I do.

We have some issues with our house (we are hoping to move either to Spain or back down south, near my family) it is your average 3 bed semi, but we are bursting out of the seams with just the four of us, though where ever we move we will be looking at a bigger house. Then there is the car, we would need to change it for something big enough for two car seats and a booster seat, we have a Vectra at the moment, which DH loves so he would have to give it up!

So whilst the practical side isn't up to much at the moment, as soon as we have got the house ready to go on the market and it has sold, the practicalites will be sorted. I can't see why a tiny baby would change any of that!! DH will come round, he always does

God, I should come with a warning: Nat likes to gab on about things!

Cosmogirl · 11/01/2008 18:16

Hi ladies,

Welcome NatalieJane - sorry to hear about your MC, but you are more than welcome to join our little gang. We are all waiting for different reasons.

Well, fate is a funny thing - after my decision to come off pill, get going on the whole baby making thang, I get a call today from the guy about the job! He wants to meet me next week!! Just waiting to hear about about dates but can you believe it?

Probably will not come off just yet, need to see if this meeting leads to anything. If I get the job, which is a big if, I prob won't try for several months until I feel stable in the position. And I thought I had it all planned out......

Cosmogirl · 11/01/2008 18:20

Sorry me me me post!

BB - that is interesting that you felt really different after coming off the pill. I would love to lose the mood swings

PTWG - what contraception do you use, if you don't mind me asking?

Have good weekends everyone x

NatalieJane · 11/01/2008 18:38

Thank you Cosmo

Just butting into conversation, but I was on the pill for five years in between DS1 & 2, then went back on it last month (think that's what caused the MC) but for the whole 3 weeks I was on it, I was moody, grumpy, spotty, started putting weight back on that I'd lost since having DS2, and generally miserable, I had decided to come off the pill and try something else before we found about the MC.

But all of the above could have been down to the pregnancy although, DH said I was moody and grumpy for the five years I was on it last time (he left out the spotty and fat bit, but only because I'd have lamped him one!! )

Cosmogirl · 11/01/2008 19:34

Lol Natalie
It is good to hear that people feel better after coming off it. How nice would it be to lose a bit of weight and be a lot less hormonal!! I have been on it 8 or so years, so barely recall the pre-pill me. Something to look forward to though, by the sounds of things. Thanks.

NatalieJane · 12/01/2008 16:40

LOL I love that 'the pre-pill me' LOL It is like my 'pre-kids me' I was skinny and had good boobs, and no stretch marks...... I wonder how much surgery I'd have to go through now to get back to 'pre-kids me'! Don't think I'd want to know actually, could probably buy my own private island in the Caribean with how much it would cost

Playingthewaitinggame · 14/01/2008 09:11

Morning all,

Back to work on this dull rainy Monday morning

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Great News about the potential job offer Cosmos. Even if it delays your plans by a few months, in the long run that's nothing (doesn't make it easier waiting though!!) and it will be worth it. If you are doing a job you enjoy, you will be less stressed ttc and through pregnancy, plus if its a pay rise you will get more money for the first 6 weeks of maternity leave as well. Also, if getting pregnant doesn't happen instantly and takes a while you will regret not changing jobs if you are bored in the job you currently have.

Oh and contraception wise I use condoms. Not very exciting I admit but I dont actually find them that bad. My DH is ok with them as well, I think he likes to visibly see the contraception (when I was on the pill if my period was ever late he would always make me take a pg test) and he is so used to them now that it barely disturbs the flow. I do also like the fact that for me there is less mess, sorry if thats too much information!

Acceber · 14/01/2008 13:56

Hello!

Yes - me and my DH are planning to start trying in April (with pill free month in March) - have finally got he to commit to a time! Why April? The earliest we can have a baby is from next Jan (getting our house renovated). Am really excited!

Good luck everyone!

carmenelectra · 14/01/2008 14:06

Im gonna try foR number 3 at the end of the year. Ds 2 is only 4 mths but i cant wait ages for the next one cos of my age. LOL.

Know ive only just had one but ive got to plan ahead! Want to wait till he is at least one and im hoping to plan it so that the next baby will be born the same time next year as he was(Sept) so i can be pregnant in the summer and have Christmas off work again. Ha!I have a job where you have to work Xmas and i hate that, so if im planning a baby i may as well plan it good!

Also, ive sort of tried to work it so i can have the smallest gap possible without me not being able to cope! And this way, ds will be nearly 2. Saying this of course who knows how long it will take etc?

Playingthewaitinggame · 14/01/2008 15:53

Hi Acceber and Carmen, welcome to our little thread.

Acceber - April is so soon, you must be getting really excited (and impatient). I will def be waiting longer than that, but I will have my fingers crossed for you!

Carmen - you are organised planning dc3 already! Still its nice to have a plan and if the biological clock is ticking it probably is best to do it sooner rather than later. Still having the patience to wait till the end of the year will be hard. I am trying to leave it as late as I can this year, I think. The later my dc1 is born in 09 (hopefully, but who knows how long it could take) the better we will be financially, which is why for now at least I am "playing the waiting game"!

carmenelectra · 14/01/2008 16:05

HELLO Waitinggame!

Im organised cos i really want to have another but thinking about my age. Im 37 and if all goes to plan then id be 39 by time next one and i really want do it before im 40!!

Also, i left a big gap betweem the first two and if i leave another gap i might change my mind!Plus havent got age on my side to wait so long this time!

Doesnt feel like long to wait really now were in the New year! Gio back to work March so time will fly then im sure. Ideally, id like to get pregnant DEC ish!!

Playingthewaitinggame · 14/01/2008 16:18

Hi Carmen,

Well I think you might be doing the sensible thing. However, by Mumsnet standards you're not old, there are plenty of over 40's on here!

BroodyBaby - Not heard from you today, how was the driving test?

NatalieJane · 14/01/2008 16:58

Hello everyone

Well we have decided to definatly wait till after DS1's birthday (which is in March) before we make an absolute final decision, but if we decide to go ahead and try for no.3 we won't be trying before May. I would rather have the baby after DS1'S birthday next year just due to the sheer number of birthdays and getting over xmas we have, but fingers crossed by the time May comes round I will be back on the wagon!

Hope you are all well xx

Cosmogirl · 14/01/2008 18:23

Hi everyone,

Welcome to all the newbies to this thread. We are hanging around, trying not to get to broody!
Hope the ttc lark goes according to all your plans.

Playing - thanks for your words. You are so right - if I can get this job and it turns out to be one I really enjoy doing, that will be great and I will be much less stressed!
I have the interview on Thursday, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

I am going to take the next pack of pills, but have discussed coming off with DH and going back to condoms. He seems OK with it, which is good. I am just really curious to get off it and sort my cycles out before we go down the ttc route - whenever that will be.

And....if I do get the job then at least I have good company whilst I wait!

Cosmogirl · 14/01/2008 18:24

Hope you are OK BB - maybe off celebrating the driving test result??!

carmenelectra · 14/01/2008 20:24

No maybe im not that old but i would like to think that maybe i wont be having tiny kids when im in my 50's! I do worry that maybe i wont be able to get pregnant this time though, bit silly i suppose. Mind you i thought that both times before!

BroodyBaby · 15/01/2008 09:33

Hi alll apologies for lack of posts laptops still no fixed!! hopefully will be tonight! hope your all ok, failed test again but only just at last minute on reversing into bay at test centre, gutted oh well have rebooked, got some really interesting news and am dead excited but cant say till at home, so will post asap, sorry to be all me me me hope your all ok, congrats cosmo!! and talk properly soon, any emails to address i listed more than welcome xx

Playingthewaitinggame · 15/01/2008 10:49

Morning all,

Cosmos - I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you on Thurs. If it is meant to be it will happen, if not then at least it brings ttc a bit closer!

BB - Sorry to hear about the driving test, I am sure you will get there in the end. You could always try changing test centres if you think that may help, Portsmouth can't be an easy place to do your test, have you though about Chichester? Mind you if it was one simple thing you failed on then its probably just bad luck and I am sure you will manage it next time. I also meant to email you over the weekend but forgot sorry!

Natalie - a hard decision to make (waiting always is) but May will fly round before you know it.

Carmen - I know exactly what you mean, personally I would rather be a young Mum, but there are def advantages to being a bit older and as I said by Mumsnet standards you a still young!

Right, think that answers everyone, sorry if I missed anyone.

Cosmogirl · 15/01/2008 17:45

Evening,

Playing - my thoughts exactly! I have nothing to lose by going to the interview, in fact it is a win win situation, which can't be bad! Only thing is I am getting quite nervous about the interview, so willing Thurs to roll around so it will be over and done with!

BB - Sorry about the driving test also, but I'm sure you'll crack it next time. Like I said, it took me five goes!
Interesting and exciting news.....don't keep us in suspense! What is it?

BroodyBaby · 15/01/2008 20:50

Its me again, bright and early, am on a pc now so can read what everyone wrote!

I have a quick question for those of you who have/have had the coil, I've not had AF this month yet, was due 10th, have read that this can be due to coil, any info welcome.

hope everyone's ok xx

BroodyBaby · 16/01/2008 10:55

Just posted on another TTC thread and the cheeky person who started it, was like actually this thread is for people who are TTC NOW, how rude!!!! i am a bit offended x

NatalieJane · 16/01/2008 11:13

Hi everyone

Cosmo, good luck for tomorrow, I will be crossing my fingers as well.

BB, sorry about the driving test, I failed mine as well, never driven since! I really should start again though. Also, I wouldn't be too worried about that other thread, I had a look and they are talking about buying spells from eBay to help them concieve Don't know about you but that would put me off enough on it's own with out the rudeness! I don't know anything about the coil, so can't help you with that, though I think I remember reading on MN that the coil can stop your AF's for up to a year after it's been removed, don't know if that help's or not?

I have a cold I am so grumpy when I am ill, DH is going to have a good week! Good job I don't get ill very often!

BroodyBaby · 16/01/2008 12:15

hi natalie and everyone!

Ha ha spells?? i thought it was just good old fashioned sex!! ha ha oh well thatslightened my mood, i think i will have the coil out sooner rather than later then... Saw my god daughter monday night she just made me more broody!! 3months and sleeps 11hrs dream baby lol

Good luck for tomo cosmo, ill be thinking of you! Anyone else got any news?

Feel better soon natalie xx
