Oooh, see I'm the voice of dissent Some good balanced viewpoints anyway!

Diege · 01/02/2008 13:26

I think the only other diff with pregnacare and other multi-vits is that in addition to no A, it has more iron

NatalieJane · 01/02/2008 13:47

OK, so I spent the last 20 minutes on my bed, reading the pregnancy mag I caved in and bought yesterday but other than that I have been busy busy busy, I deserve a break don't I?!!

And since you lot are on here instead of working, I might as well join the rebels If you can't beat them.....

I am going to get some folic acid, I have never done the pregnacare stuff, just folic and then the pink multi vits for pregnant people... can't rememeber what they are called!!

BB, I tend to agree with Diege, sorry that doesn't help, but then I am probably not the best person to ask having not worked since I was 17! Why don't you talk to DP about it all tonight, and see if you can sort what is best for you both between you? Or why don't you see what comes of the job applications and take it from there? If you get offered any of them, look at what they could offer, weigh up the pro's and con's, and see which makes for the better plan?

Anyone want a poorly 5 year old? You can have him, free for postage. I'll even chuck his clothes and toys and stuff in.

Cosmogirl · 01/02/2008 13:59

Hi again, thanks Playing and Diege for the Pregnacare info. Will also read up about that tonight. DH bought a Wii for his birthday, so that will be keeping him busy for a while.

NJ - a pregnancy mag! I bet I get addicted to those when I am expecting, or I will be buying tons of books on pregnancy instead.

Goodness, is it only 2 pm? Rubbish.

Diege · 01/02/2008 14:07

Which mag NJ? . I am a mag hag anyway, and buy a fair few for my train journeys. I had a subscription to Practical Parenting last time, which a found a little better than the rather repetitive 'what does labour REALLY feel like' headlines that screamed out at me from the likes of Mother and Baby and 'Pregnancy and Birth' (I still bought those too though!). In fact I felt quite sad when I no longer had any use for them!
But now I'm going all posh dontcha know - it's going to be Junior Pregnancy and Birth from now on (to go with my bugaboo, natch )

Deige, You are right that no one can be fired for being pg but if a company wants to get rid of you they will find a way. Of course when you are on probabtion you can be fired for anything, I was fired on probation for "not fitting into the team" and I had been there 4 months but had a 6 months prbabtion. Funnily enough this was 8 days after I had tried to quit but they had talked me out of leaving because I was "so good at my job". BB has already has experience of being fired/redundant from last employers very shortly after them finding out she was 6 week pg. Of course, if she wants to stay in her job she should, she can always see what happens but I got the impression that she didn't really like her job anyway, so under those circumstance why would you stay?

NatalieJane · 01/02/2008 14:17

No one want him then?

It is Prima Baby and Pregnancy And I didn't know there were different classes of preg. mags! Although agree they are all the same on the inside, but I buy them anyway! [rolls eyes]

OK, it is snowing, pretty badly, I am considering getting DH home, if it carries on like this for much longer he won't be able to get up our street (And I speak from bitter experience!!). Or I could just leave it, and let him walk!

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/02/2008 14:17

Ooo pregnanacy magazines. I know I will get addicted to them. I used to read them in my lunch break at a previous job cos we were supposed to keep up to date with all the baby and toddler products/awards etc, so they were always in the lunch room. And when I was planning my wedding I was obssessed with wedding magazines, so I am sure ti will be the same with pg mags!!

Diege · 01/02/2008 14:23

. err no, thanks anyway but I'll leave ds thanks!

Diege · 01/02/2008 14:28

Hmm, good point PLAYING...yes, see what you mean if the job isn't right anyway. Think as NJ says that it's a good strategy to apply for new jobs anyway and see what the new opps bring, so that if a decision needs to be made soon, there is more 'evidence' to make a decision if that makes sense!
This weather is crazy!!! Has gone from hail to train to bright sunshine, snow and now it's just gale force winds! Right, off for school run!

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/02/2008 14:38

Its ok Natalie, you can keep your dc!!

How unfair everyone has snow , we have blue sky still, with barely any clouds. I love snow and we never get any.

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/02/2008 15:34

and now we have just had rain but at least the sun is coming out again.

NatalieJane · 01/02/2008 15:39

Don't worry I'll tell him no one want's him, I hope you all feel guilty for his little broken heart!!!

Well it is still snowing, poor DH!! Last time we got snowed in, was when we risked life and limb sliding down the mountain to Boots for a HPT! It was negative as well, until about a week after snow went and we got a positive!

Awwww, memories..... Can't wait to do it all again!!

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/02/2008 15:41

Oh Natalie, I have never been snowed in, how exciting, I would love it. We hardly ever see any snow here and when/if it does snow it almost never settles and certainly will not last more than a day or 2.

NatalieJane · 01/02/2008 15:44

Exciting? A bit unsettling and a lot of pissing about describes it better!

We could swop houses, you can have the snow, I'll have the blue skies

BeMyLilBaby · 01/02/2008 16:21

hello all

youve been chatty this arvo!

still undecided on what to do gonna take it as it comes i guess, but im hoping something new and better will come p just have to sopress these mad urges somedays i like this job, somedays i hate it... ho hum il see what happens

anyone got plans for the weekend? xx

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/02/2008 16:24

hmm, I would for about a week. After that I would get bored. OK, so we hardly ever get snow (which I love)but it is still light, blue sky and sun and 16:25. Further north it would be thinking of getting dark and obviously be colder, so maybe I should just stay in the lighter, warmer south and stop moaning about no snow?!

NatalieJane · 01/02/2008 16:28

Well it has stopped snowing, it rained and washed the snow away, day light is starting to go, just switched lights on, the wind is calming down, still the odd gigantic gust every now and then, but it is mainly calm, and my old beloved fence is still up and in one piece, I am pretty happy today And, on top of all of that, it isn't January anymore!!

Oh bloody hell, it is snowing again

BeMyLilBaby · 01/02/2008 16:45

lol NJ your weather sounds so loverly... least your fence is putting up a gd fight!! x

Diege · 01/02/2008 16:55

Just a random thought as I'm putting the tea on, but has anyone else started paying greater attention to CM this cycle? I think I'll start a diary too of symptoms so I can compare them come May, to see if they really are symptoms of pregnancy and not just post-ov/pre-af! Does that sound scarily control-freakish? I just know what I'm like with symptoms!

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/02/2008 16:59

Right, for once I think I might leave work on time (I actually finish at 5 but can't remember the last time I left before 5.30 and recently much later). Not sure if I will pop online during the weekend, trying not to get too obsessed with MN. If I don't chat again hope everyone has a good weekend and I wont be back in the office (so therefore surfing the net) till Tues as I am attending a trade Fair in at the NEC on Monday. Take care xx.

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/02/2008 17:00

Oh and Deige I am becoming CM obssessed. I am noting it everyday

BeMyLilBaby · 01/02/2008 17:11

same from me...im off monday thought id take a long weekend, so everyone have a good one, and ill look forward to reading all the posts

Diege · 01/02/2008 17:12

Mentally noting or WRITING IT DOWN?? I'm not at the writing stage yet, and think tghat would somehow take the preparation onto a whole new level! One thing that's not for me is the cervical positioning checking thingy . All that poking about

NatalieJane · 01/02/2008 17:43

Me me me

Ahem, what I mean is, yes I have been tracking my CM....

I always do and I had the HRH EWCM last week which is quite reassuring after the MC.

I absolutely have not written it down though....

I don't however do the cervical postion thingymebob, I don't think I have ever touched/found my cervix. I don't do much digging around there myself T'is DH's job

I will probably be about on and off over the weekend, but have possible bathroom to strip and paint, so depends how it goes. Have a nice long weekend Playing and BB, and a nice weekend to everyone else, if I don't get chance to get on. xxxxx
