New 2ww thread, have brought over mince pies and mulled wine and put up some fairylights

Come in, take your heels off and get cosy!

GG, big hugs. So sorry your Dr appt wasn't what you'd hoped for.

Spreading lots of babydust to everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

On another note, what does EPO and drinking grapefruit juice do for you? I heard you can't take EPO if PF, so should you stop during your 2WW? What about grapefruit juice?

PicknMix · 07/12/2007 19:41

Hello all,

I'm so sorry to hear that there is a lot of sadness about.

GG your Dr has NOT been helpful - after 12 months I would expect more of a response than 'come back in a couple of months'. I echo what others say in that maybe another trip to the Dr's is needed - can you perhaps see someone else? And getting DH's swimmers checked out is a good idea, rule out things one by one.

DG I really feel for you - I know exactly what its like to have long drawn out cycles, it just prolongs the agony. You seem to be so keyed up on it all so there isn't anything I can suggest. When is your gynie appt?

Abby how did you Dr's appt go?? Are you still in pain?

A massive CONGRATS to Poppysocks and TwighlightSurfer , fab news!!

Glasto I think you're right - I take EPO and I only take it for the first half of my cycle and then stop at ov - I take it cos I read its good for ewcm (and also pms symptoms - specifically sore boobs and achey tummy during af). There's nothing to say you can't take it whilst pregnant, just not recommended, although have read some women use it during labour to shorten labour pains ......

I have pretty much waved bye bye to a bfp this month as ov seems to have gone awol - no ov pain or ewcm (plus bd'ing opportunities have been a bit scarce due to in-laws staying with us - in fact, only managed it once, last night on cd19!). I just have this deep sense that its just not meant to be for us just yet. Not sure why - maybe its a defensive thing to prepare myself for the worst?

Anyway, I hope all mn'ers meeting tomorrow have a fab time - wish I could join you but am working . Hope its just what you need to cheer yourselves up a little.

Hi to all who I have missed - I apologise!

PicknMix · 07/12/2007 19:42

Geez - mighty long post from me - sorry!

ScaryHairy · 07/12/2007 20:21

DG and GG I'm so sorry you've both been having such a hard time. Take care of yourselves - ttc can be very wearing, and you need to take it easy.

GG - health insurance in the UK generally does not cover TTC (or at least my BUPA wouldn't). But I think it would be worth going back to the GP if you can bear it and insist on being referred, or, if you can, go to see another GP. I find it very strange that a GP would tell someone to ttc for more than a year without enabling them to get some basic tests.

Picknmix - sorry if I am being dim, but what's EPO? I only ask because this month I had less EWCM than normal - it had literally gone by the end of the day after my positive OPK - in spite of me guzzling grapefruit juice by the pint.

Temp was up this morning so the OPK may have been right on Monday when it said I was going to ovulate. Cervix has been hard and closed since yesterday, so I think I must have ovulated on Tues or Wed, although am a bit concerned that I was having stomach cramps all Monday night and Tues daytime. If they were ovulation pains then DH's mission on Tuesday night might have been too late, but I am glad he made it home. I guess we might have a chance. I'm going to try to put it out of my head for the moment though, and try not to drive myself mad...

PoinsettiaBouquets · 07/12/2007 21:25

Oh God you're all going to hate me, one silly night and click. Turns out those cheapo Asda early detection tests are completely unreliable as I got a BFP tonight!
I'm quite shocked, was due yesterdayish and was in a filthy mood yesterday, really thought AF was about to visit. No other symptoms other than going off hand-rolled tobacco about a day after conception LOL.
DH is surprisingly chuffed too.
So, um, babydust to yieu and yieu and yieu . Thanks for keeping me company, fingers crossed for you all.

TwilightSurfer · 07/12/2007 21:34

PoinsettiaBouquets CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

07mumstheword · 07/12/2007 22:00

GG That is just not good enough. I agree with the others go back begging and pleeding for a referal saying you just need some positive action afterall your Doc seemed to agree that you've been doing everything right. Perhaps see another GP? I'm so so sorry your appointment turned out this way I really thought you would be sent for some basic tests to start with you are entitled to it having tried for 12 months. Sorry but makes me so that you have been left feeling so deflated. I do hope you perk up.

DG I'm sorry to hear you are feeling down too. I can understand why because a 2 week wait is painful enough but for you to have to endure almost double that must be torture. I hope you too feel better soon

Abby How did you get on at the doctors? I'm a little worried you've been rushed to hospital with suspected appendacitous (dreadful dreadful sp!) or something and that's why you are not in touch. Hope you're ok.

Congrats PSB, amazing that you had those BFN's turn to a BFP today. Bet the news is sinking in now

Hello to everyone else, so much going on here again this afternoon it's hard to keep up.

And for those of you meeting up tomorrow have a lovely time especially GG & DG you really need some distraction and fun and I just know Bucky will take good care of you.

digitalgirl · 07/12/2007 23:46

thanks for the kind words ladies, I went out earlier for a large glass of wine with a friend. she told me i looked stressed, have obviously put myself under too much pressure and would probably benefit from a 'break'. i'm beginning to think that's a very good idea. not a real break...but maybe a non-charting, non CD counting, non-militant bd'ing break.

i'll think about it.

GG have emailed you and bucky re: tomorrow but wasn't sure if you would get it. Vats sounds great. Meet there at 1:30?

congrats pb good luck

OP posts:
GryffinGirl · 08/12/2007 00:47

DG - see you and bucky at Vats at 1.30 tomorrow - perfect.

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 08/12/2007 08:54

Geez you too are up late DG/GG...No beauty sleep required for the already gorgeous it seems .

I would just like to say I was the BEST behaved person at the Xmas party (i.e. The most boring)...One G&T only . No wine with my meal (although I got them to pour it and then just drank sparkling water!).

Hope everyone is feeling chirpier today. Tis the season to be jolly and all that.

Abbey where are you? Are you OK?

PicknMix it only takes one time...It's good to be realistic, but don't lose hope. I can't remember how long your cycle is but if you have a 11 day LP and your cycle is 30/31 days you could be spot on!

07MTW was in Bath again on Thursday getting blown about . Hope your neck of the woods was fairing a little better.

Hope everyone has the best weekend despite the crap weather.

Bucky drops a big bag of baby dust from the seventh floor of the MN virtual building on everyone.... **

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 08/12/2007 08:59

Oh forgot to say...I kind of have symptoms. Had a bit of tugging in the last day or so...enough to be aware of it and the white CM stuff. Had the CM before not so much the tugging thing. But only about 5dpo so probably just all the crap I am eating giving me indigestion or something . I kind of don't even believe it is going to happen each month now. It doesn't cross my mind that it could REALLY happen anymore. To the point that I am not even disappointed when AF shows up because I didn't believe it would happen anyway. Like PicknMix says maybe it's a defence thing, though I'm not consciously doing it.

madoldturkey · 08/12/2007 09:50

Good morning ladies.

First of all pb congrats! Hope everything goes really well for you.

GG stupid, stupid dr. Not surprising you felt like you did afterwards. As others have said now is the time to get the ball rolling with basic tests etc. You are entitled to those. santasmissus sorry you are not feeling any better. What can i say, apart from the fact that i have been feeling like that too, (guiltily, because we haven't been trying for so long) All i can do is send both of you a big {{{{hug}}}} and that's for DG as well.

Bucky i admire your restraint last night! Very impressive. And what did you wear in the end? Did the gress go back or not?

Bucky DG and GG (is it just the 3 of you?) have a wonderful meet up today. Am !!! Have a laugh and relax, as well as discussions about intimate bodily functions wish i could be there.

Abby how are you? Getting concerned, as others have said. Hope you are ok.

Well, i am starting to feel a bit more positive. CD4, and starting to think about BDing in a week or so (if i ov early again). Got the thread "bible" yesterday - "taking charge of your fertility" and have only flicked through at the moment, but am going to settle down and have a good read this weekend. I didn't think i could be bothered to do temping, but DH thinks it would be a good idea and he has gone out this morning to go and get me one (as well as my christmas pressie!!!!) so we'll try and see how it goes. So i guess i am officially charting! Just feels better to be doing something pro-active.

Hello to everyone i haven't mentioned. Hope you all have a good (but blustery) day. X

santasmissus · 08/12/2007 09:50

well i am feeling a bit brighter this morning, thanks bucky. hope you had a good time at the party and very clever giving the appearance of drinking

how is everyone else? hope you're all feeling a bit brighter too. dg hope you can wind down a bit and not feel too stresseed.

CONGRATULATION poinsettia! lovely news

madoldturkey · 08/12/2007 09:51

madoldturkey · 08/12/2007 09:56

Likewise SM Really glad to hear you sounding cheerier. WE WILL NOT BE BEATEN!! As someone else said recently - at some point we will all be sitting smugly on another thread somewhere discussing our newborns)

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 08/12/2007 10:53

Green dress went back got this one instead. It was fine. [wink}

madoldturkey · 08/12/2007 11:02

That's GORGEOUS!!!!

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 08/12/2007 11:12

Hello!

Thank you all for concern. I didn't actually go to drs . This makes me feel guilty now that people were worried about me . It wasn't hurting as severely in the afternoon, so I decided to leave it, rather than be poked and prodded. I came to the conclusion that if I'm pg in a fortnight, then it was implantation, and that if I'm not then I will go to drs to report pains and pursue an ultrasound to check I'm okay. It's still aching now.

However, I now have heavy, creamy discharge, constipation (joy of joys)and sore boobs . So, yes, my hopes are officially raised, probably to be dashed once more as TEW rears her ugly head a week on thursday . It's really hard because these symptomsm do convince you - but I've been through this so many times now that I'm fighting the compulsion to really think that I am.

Bucky - another stunning dress. This has made me very jealous and regretful for scarping so many mince pies and ensuring the only dress I'll be wearing to go out in resembles a patterned sack! I bet you looked lovely in it - Monsoon do some beautiful clothes.

PB Many congratulations on your BFP!

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 08/12/2007 11:13

Sorry again .

JollyBear · 08/12/2007 15:36

Afternoon everyone,

I hope everyone is feeling a bit brighter today. I've had no internet access for a couple of days so I've just been catching up on the thread. It is upsetting to hear everyone feeling so

I hope you ladies meeting for lunch have a great time, and lift those spirits. I'd love to join you up being in the rainy north is a hinderance!

Congratulations PF

Glad you are OK Abby!

GG I agree you should go back to your GP, they should at least offer you some tests. It is so frustrating, no wonder you felt upset afterwards.

Hello to everyone else!

I've no internet access AGAIN during early next week but hopefully will be back on Wednesday with symptoms to share and some BFPs from you ladies

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 08/12/2007 15:45

Woo! Festive emoticons! It's about time

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 08/12/2007 15:46

Thank you JollyBear am compensating for the pain with chocolate today

Hootie · 08/12/2007 16:10

GG - I went online today to see how your GP appt went. I'm so sorry you feel so awful, mine was EXACTLY the same - i sat in the car and cried for half an hour before I went back to work. Ring up and ask for the standard blood tests we talked about b4. Even if you carry on ttc and go back at easter they'll want to do them then - probably for a couple of cycles - so they may as well start now!!! get mad - it doesn't cost much and to know all your hormones are doing the right thing will really put your mind at rest. have a good weekend x

07mumstheword · 08/12/2007 21:24

Evening all. Me & DH have been putting up Christmas decorations and cleaning since 9am and just finished! We are having a secret santa party tomorrow for our dd with the friends we met through Ante-Natal classes so that will be six 2.5 year olds one nine month old and 12 adults. I'm exhausted and I know I will be repeating all the cleaning tomorrow evening!

Bucky Your LBD is gorgeous! I read your post to say in were in the bath so had to re-read We are expecting gale force winds tomorrow so lets hope the outdoor decorations hold up!

Abby Don't be embarressed we were worried but glad to here you are ok.

Like you Bucky & Abby I have had tugging sensations low down on one side and I am so trying not to raise my hopes. I know how well I can convince myself that any little thing can mean I'm PG. I also think my boobs feel a little heavier.

I'm going to hospital on Monday for some tests (not TTC related) and the leaflet they have sent through said to advise them if I could be PG so I phoned and told them to let them know we are TTC. The receptionist was about as helpful as a chocolate teapot and told me to go along anyway and tell them on the day. (I'm having skin patch tests and have to go Mon, Weds & Fri so could be a real waste of time). Anyway my point is that I thought I would do a PG test Monday morning to see if I can get any sign of a faint line. I'll only be 9 dpo so v v early and could be setting myself up for a fall but I gotta try for these damned appointments.

Blimey I've really gone on tonight, at least it should send you to sleep

Oh and how did your meet up go today Bucky GG & DG? Hope you had a lovely time.
