Come in, take your heels off and get cosy!

Hi GG it's been ages! How was the holiday? Lovely to have you back.

JB I've just joined FF and got the 30 day free trial. I haven't looked into costs for next month yet, lets hope I don't have to.

JollyBear · 16/01/2008 16:57

Hello GG it is super to have you back! How was NYC?!

MTW I saw a thread started by fruitloop who was concerned the trial was ending, other tempers said that when the free trial runs out you loose some of the features but it still does the basics and calculates your OV for you. I'm mean so will be sticking to the free version

hattyyellow · 16/01/2008 17:00

Hey GG how was the hols? Good to see you again (ps have had a name change from my old cat cbcb to my DD's names for their new dolls hatty and yellow)

Thanks for all the words of support for BFN...think AF pretty much on her way...

Just hoping she arrives tonight rather than tomorrow, as I have a loooooong day with a long journey to see a client. Would really rather not start mid-travel and have to rush off to train loos

Am going to sign up for fertility friend too .

ScaryHairy · 16/01/2008 19:20

Eat the melon, MOB. I'm sure I read that eating alkaline food like melon can stop (ahem) vaginal secretions from becoming too acidic and killing the swimmers.

Mibbes your DP is clearly very wise in the ways of women. Chocolate is an excellent remedy when you're feeling low.

GG good to see you back again.

HattyYellow sorry to hear about BFN. I think we are in the same boat as I think AF is due in 3 days and I am starting to cramp. I'm really quite annoyed, but that won't stop me testing and wasting all of my money until she finally puts in an appearance.

hello everyone! My everything moves so quickly round here my head is spinning. Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow after a very long time off. I'll simply have to get PG this month so I have a route out the door in 8.5 months

Love the new name cbcb now to be known as the very natty hattyyellow. Your DD's sound very creative little girls, I love their doll names

I had a lovely time away, but not so good when I got flu/bronchitus and ended up with antibotics (Note - American doctors very expensive!). So all my plans to burn overdraft in the shops failed when i spent five days in bed . It's typical - you have had a stressful year/busy job/mad Christmas and you come down with somehting rrally horrid just when you try to relax! However, being ill also seemed to delay AF, which was 3 days late and so i got my hopes up massively only for that to be dashed for the thirteenth time .

Nevermind, I am bright and sparkly with lots of TTC hope for the new year . 2008 will be my year and I am hoping that lots of DG's babydust rubs off on me . DG I am so insanely happy about your BFP and for you and your DH . I am all grin-ny sitting here thinking of little DigitalBean

hello to shreksmissus, scary 07MTW, Jolly and all the others! Hello to people I haven't met before.

Bucky - I am so sorry for the BFN . I am still here on the thread if you want a good moan and it doesn't look like I will be graduating for a wee while yet.

I have only had the tiniest skim of the threads because 4 weeks is a LOT to catch up on, so if anything major happened other than DG's absolutely fantabulous BFP news, please tell me so I don't let me put my foot in it

Lots of luck to everyone in 2008 (you probably wished each other fertile and happy new years weeks ago )

GryffinGirl · 16/01/2008 21:01

Oh no hatty - just seen news of your BFN. I'm so sorry.

twinklefairy just seen something further down the thread from you about the TTC list and people not being so friendly. I thought the same. It's just a new bunch of people who form their networks, but you stay here with us . Also, I'm very sorry to read about your grandad passing away and hope you are doing ok.

MrsEi - I've just seen that you dreamed DG's BFP, so please let me know if you see anything for l'il old me in your dreams

07mumstheword · 16/01/2008 22:09

GG Really lovely to have you back. I'm just starting cycle 10 and have been feeling really fed up and to see you hitting cycle 13 and being so up beat has given me the much needed kick up the arse! Thank you. I'm sorry you were ill whilst you were away, what a nightmare! I hope it didn't spoil it too much for you and you managed to enjoy it in the main.

07mumstheword · 16/01/2008 22:11

Sorry I think you may be cycle 14 now, I really must pay more attention to detail.

ScaryHairy · 17/01/2008 07:57

Hi everyone

How are you all?

Am pretty sure now that AF is on her way. Temps have dropped - not to pre ov levels, but way down from where they were for the second day running.

It's silly; I know the odds are against us, and I know that even spot-on timing doesn't mean it happens, but I really felt sure that we had done the trick. Now I don't know how many cycles I will have to wait until DH and I are in the same place at the right time again. . I didn't think I would be this gutted.

I will pull myself together and am losing a bit of weight in case that helps and am totally avoiding caffeine and alcohol. Might give acupuncture another go. Anyway, let's hope AF hurries up so that I can get on with trying again.

Now one of you get a BFP to cheer me up...

mibbes · 17/01/2008 08:05

AAhh ScaryHairy I'm so sorry you are feeling down. Are you getting any other AF signs ? It is not over yet but I know there is no point in raising hopes .
My AF has still not showed up and on CD39 am really fed up waiting - just want to get on with a cycle of temping now
Hi GryffinGirl nice to "meet" you.

Eleveld · 17/01/2008 08:08

Sorry to hear that ScaryHairy fingers crossed for next time.

Still no sign of AF for me either. As it's my first cycle of trying I'm not totally sure where I am. I'm pretty regular and thought it was due yesterday but it could be today.

Have been getting crampy feelings for over a week now (which is unusual, I only normally get them when AF arrives) but have got the usual lumpy sore left boob today so I'm sure it's on it's way. Like you say, when you know it's on its way you just want it to rear its ugly head so you can get on with things again don't you?

07mumstheword · 17/01/2008 08:18

Scary I'm so sorry it's so frustrating when you get the timing right and still no BFP. I do hope you and DH manage to be in the same place at the right time next month.

digitalgirl · 17/01/2008 08:59

GG so lovely to have you back!! I still can't believe it happened to me of all people...still don't feel very pg at all.
Poor you being ill over your holiday followed by a late af (she's a mean old witch), but now you're back and it's 2008 and there's a bunch of tests and stuff you were going to do after your hol that you can get down to.

SH sorry bout your temp dip....is there a chance it could be an implantation dip?? I guess you'll know today or tomorrow.

Am off to the doc's in a bit. Going to ask whether i can still go for my 'what's with these long cycles' scan to make sure all is well before i go on holiday. I also had tetanus and typhoid jabs during my fertile time, want to ask whether that could affect anything. And lastly, double check what I need to be aware of with the 12 hour flight and trying not to cook the digibean in the hot hot mauritian sun. I bloody hope everything's ok while I'm out there.

07mumstheword · 17/01/2008 09:04

DG Good luck at the doctors I'm sure he/she put your mind at rest.

GryffinGirl · 17/01/2008 11:01

DG!!!! - Mauritius, how lovely!! And I bet you thought you'd be using the time relaxing in a hammock for TTC BD-ing . No need now, so purely recreational fun! . Good luck at the doctor today! You are not allowed to leave us all behind despite being a lofty graduate now

hello mibbes - nice to meet you. I had a quick squiz at your profile and you live very near where I am from.

CD14 today for me (I think. I'll need to check after this long away my brain is more mushy than usual. I mean, do you factor in time differences ??). DH will no doubt be pounced on this evening again and then I suppose I am on the 2WW and I will be back to symptom spotting again.

twinklingfairy · 17/01/2008 11:27

Scary I am with you on this one. AF was/is due today and I was hoping against hopes that my temp would still be up this morn, but no such luck A drop from 36.70 to 36.40
So all prepared for AF's arrival and hoping, in vain, that this might put her off. You know how she likes to catch us unawares!!

I would also love to think it is implantation dip but this happend last month too and I tried to convince myself, but it took about 3 days of gradual temp dropping before AF arrived. So, am figuring that we will be following the same patern this month. I felt so sure this month, too. Just makes you feel so silly for having hope. I must think negative, it is so hard when positive thinking just leaves you gutted.

On another note. DD has just used baby signing to tell me she wanted something to eat!! I am so proud of her whenever she uses it. It is not the first time either but I still jump for joy every time. It is such a great thing to teach them. I woud never have thought she would be hungry now. We are late risers and she has only just had her breakfast. So it probably woudl have ended up as a shouting match from her as she tried to get me to understand.

twinklingfairy · 17/01/2008 11:28

How many typos
oops

digitalgirl · 17/01/2008 11:47

fairy sorry you had a temp drop too. But baby-signing! Wow, that sounds so clever...don't blame you for being proud.

GG I know, DH actually said 'aah, we can relax on holiday now'. Er, whatever made him think ttc wasn't relaxing?

Back from doc's now, all is well with jabs and holiday. I have to decide on which hopsital I want to go to before she can request a mw appt - which apparently can be between 12 -14 WEEKS!! And then I may have to wait until 16 weeks for the first scan!!
Oh well, glad the doc thinks I'm 5 weeks today (based on LMP), so hopefully that brings it all a week forward.

OP posts:
GryffinGirl · 17/01/2008 11:59

DG five weeks, ahhhh . Have you got one of those baby books which tells you what's happening day by day? I always thought they'd be fascinating to look at and see how baby is growing - "Today you are developing eyelashes, Digitalbean!"

fairy - baby signing sounds very advanced! Wow! I am impressed.

DH is going to get his swimmers tested next week at the hospital, so if they come back with the all clear or a generally positive message, I am going straight down to the doctors to have myself checked. No waiting for Easter like nasty old GP wanted me to . After all this time TTC, maybe I should admit defeat and add myself to the TTC Since Forever thread.

digitalgirl · 17/01/2008 12:16

GG no books yet, but I did get a booklet from the Dr's called 'Emma's Diary'. Not that detailed for development, but probably a good start for DH.
I'm convinced I'm only really 4 weeks as I know roughly when I ovulated (obsessed? moi?), but whatever gets me on the 'system' is fine by me.
Good luck to your DH with his test...are you hoping to rule it out or in some weird way would you be more reassured if you found out something that you could then take steps to deal with?

OP posts:
JollyBear · 17/01/2008 12:17

CD 37 lucky old me! I joined FF yesterday and it thinks I ov yesterday (temp increased significantly today- but as I've only temped twice, who knows!) so it looks like I'm going to be waiting for a while yet. I've also no chance of a BFP either as DH has been away!!

Oh well, I'm looking on the bright side I should be able to see exactly what my temps etc do when I know I'm not pregnant!

TF fingers crossed AF stays away

GG Ask to see a different GP when you next make an appointment. Fobbing you off is not acceptable.

Hello to everyone else.

PicknMix · 17/01/2008 13:24

Afternoon to everyone!

GG so pleased to see you back, sorry to hear about your illness, amazing how the body goes, 'ahhh, and relaaaaaxx' when on holiday and then all the nasty bugs come in to attack.

Scary my fellow cycle buddy - sorry hear about the temp dip. Sadly for me af turned up this morning. Am trying to be philosophical but its not working just yet. Have my fingers crossed for you that it IS an implantation drop and your temps will go back up.

TF VERY clever baby girl you have - makes the world of difference I've heard if baby can sign before they can talk, gives them so much more freedom in terms of communication and less frustration.

Right, am trying to ignore the cramping and bad mood, will not let ftc depress me.... Onwards and upwards to next month....

madoldbird · 17/01/2008 14:58

Good afternoon ladies

Jollybear, MTW & Mibbes Have obeyed orders! BDing
in progress!!! Still got today, so DH knws his job isn't over yet.

GG Welcome back. Nice to see you again. What a shame you were poorly, but i hope that didn't detract too much from having a wonderful time.

scaryhairy sorry to hear about the temp dip. I'm afraid the melon is now on the compost heap. I am interested to hear about it's effects on "secretions" though. I would have eaten it, if it hadn't gone from hard to mouldy overnight!!

shreksmissus No, you mustn't leave us, and you can spit your dummy out any time. Don't get too resigned to ftc - you never know what is round the corner. Have you thought about tests etc? You don't have to answer - i know it's a very personal question. Don't mean to intrude.

DG Glad all went well at the docs. And 5 weeks - wow!! The reality is, you are probably right, not the GP, as you know your body and your cycle, but that's exciting to be 5 weeks "on paper"

twinklingfairy that signing sounds great. Must save a lot of frustration. For her and for you!

Jollybear That's interesting to hear that FF thinks you only just ov'ed. That explains the EWCM, but what a shame DH hasn't been around. Still, it is info to take on to the next cycle, i guess.

PicknMix Sorry to hear about AF. You sound remarkably ok about it. Hope you are ok.

Hello to Bucky Hattyyellow EI and everyone else.

mibbes · 17/01/2008 16:30

Twinkling sorry for temp dip but hurray for clever DD !
MOB glad to hear you are putting in a good bd'ing effort !
GG a fellow Scot I assume . It is bl00dy miserable weather here today so you are better off in London !
DG if you are 5 weeks on paper at least the scans etc... may be sooner - how exciting ! Are you still going for the scan or did they cancel it ?
Jollybear honorary cycle buddy ! Is it normal for you to ov so late ? How can FF tell what is going on with you when you have only just started temping and you are so far through your cycle ? Did you have a huge jump in temp?
I am starting to think I may have done a DG from a few cycles back and mistaken ov signs for PG signs and therefore completely missed the boat . Wasn't this what happened to you DG when you were naive and new to ttc ? Goodness look at you now all blooming with digibean
CD 39 and still have high temp (36.8 today) but have only been taking temps for 10 days(ish) so most likely had a lazy egg . Am looking forward to temping properly next cycle as this should make it all so much clearer - we can embark on the adventure together JB
