Come in, take your heels off and get cosy!

good morning everyone,

I hope we are all well and in a festive mood, i've brought mince pies and a chocolate yule type log ( oh and plenty of fresh fruit and veg for me!!)

Well ladies for those of you who smoke or used to smoke you will know how i feel, i did try and cut down when i was ttc (not very successfully) and now on day 3 of no smoking!! its killing me but baby is much more important!!

Update on symptoms, well i had very little this month, had a tugging feeling in my womb for a few evening, boobs very very slightly tender and both of them not just my usual one boob!! Biggest difference for me was very little cm, in fact so little i barely noticed it!!

However before i ouvlated there was enough cm/ewcm to sink a ship!!!

Hope any/some/none of that helps!!! I'm off to eat more, i cannot stop eating ( but they may be solely due to not smoking!!)

Babydust to all ***

GryffinGirl · 06/12/2007 10:08

morning all

I am in the most boring part of the month - CD2 and it is duuuuuulll. Funnily enough, I have no symptoms to report

I can't hand around long today because we all had a pep talk at work last night from the big bosses along the lines of "there will be a recession, we are all doomed, you lot will all have to work harder, if you don't you will have to opportunity to consider a career change. p.s. we're watching you", which put a bit of a dampener on the old festive cheer! AND after we won that award last week you'd think they'd give us time to bask in the glory a bit . Ho hum, better get up the duff quickly so they can't make me redundant

santasmissus · 06/12/2007 10:38

just a quick one as i'm desperate for sleep (nights at the moment)

heellllooooooooo everyone, the above desperation for sleep means can't write to everyone

feel very hormonal, almost unusually so, have some draggy/achiness in lower abdomen but have been like that on and off for nigh on 10days now, some nausea but probably due to tiredness, tiredness but probably due to nightshift. starting to panic that these are all imaginary and perhaps i didn't even ov this month anyway probably links back to v. hoemonal, either for af or pg, obviously hoping the latter. still no definite sign of her though. think i put no show yesterday down as a curiosity and if no show today surprise

night night all

digitalgirl · 06/12/2007 10:46

scaryhairy yes, I'm really near you I live in Muswell Hill! do you fancy coming to our meet-up on Saturday?

gg that's a bit shitty of them, hardly going to 'pep' you all up is it?

hi picknmix and hi everyone else

well for what it's worth I did a hpt today as I'm supposed to be going out with work tonight. another BFN . it should be accurate because i should be due today. however, I don't even feel like AF is due anymore. I don't know what is going on. CD40 and not a bloody clue.

I just want AF to come today so that at least it will show the temp charting is right and also prove that the acupuncture worked. I'm fed up of getting my hopes up and then having them dashed.

stupid thing is I really don't want to go out tonight, even though that was the whole point of doing a test.

OP posts:
GryffinGirl · 06/12/2007 11:22

oh DG no . I am so, so sorry to hear that it was BFN. I know exactly how you feel, m'dear. Thinking of you, and I suppose it is not over until AF turns up. I am sure that all the temping and charting will stand youin great stead and prove all your hunches right.

santasmissus - fingers crossed for you. Are you testing today?

bambam30 · 06/12/2007 12:04

good morning well actualy now it's afternoon i am on day 14 and most of last night i had dragging pain in my lower back and a liitle to yhe font on the right is this ovulating pain? tmi i know but we have bd this am have bin doing a day on and day off so to speak and will continue to day 18 oh i so i said i would not become obsessed it only our 1st month of ttc!!!

madoldturkey · 06/12/2007 12:14

Good morning everyone

DG so sorry to hear about the BFN i hope that AF turns up, at least. i feel guilty for moaning about her turning up here early - at least i know where i stand. I really hope that she turns up ASAP for you. I can understand you not wanting to go out tonight, but maybe a few drinks might be in order after all this??

santasmissus

Shazza2002 · 06/12/2007 13:06

Really sorry about your BFN DG really don't know what to say to help. So hoping a big hug will be ok >

GG Understand entirely about the work thing. After waiting best part of 2 years to start TTC no 2, because of trying to be sensible, have enough money and waiting for the right time etc. Now looks like we may also be made redundant. Which is rather crap. Entitled to enhanced company maternity pay, cause of length of service all in all entitled to 30 weeks full pay. But if made redundant I'm screwed. I do a bit of HR so have been onto the employee/ers law people to see where 'company' stand when making PG people redundant, as in are they obliged to pay the CMP aswell. So waiting for response. Sorry for babble, I know the most important thing is having a healthy baby but anybody think luck comes in one door and goes out the other?

sarahnh · 06/12/2007 13:42

DG my heart goes out to you, i really hope it will turn into a BFP.. how are you temps? are they still up?? Big Huge Massive Hugs

Sorry to hear about your threatened redundancy Shazza, i know a little about employment law as have been doing recruitment for more years than i care to think about so will give you any help if you need it!!xxxx

poppysocks · 06/12/2007 14:24

So sorry to hear about your BFN DG and about the work situations, GG and Shazza. So much for Christmas cheer, but then I suppose mince pies and mulled wine all provide a sugar packed distraction.

No mulled wine for me this Christmas. BFP this morning!!!!

It was pretty faint, but wasn't expecting AF until the weekend. Couldn't resist the temptation and with DD and I leaving DH home alone for a week from tomorrow I wanted to know while we were still together.

Will check again tomorrow because the line was faint, but I've learnt from you ladies that a line is a line. Right?

digitalgirl · 06/12/2007 14:42

congrats poppysocks!!

OP posts:
sarahnh · 06/12/2007 14:57

yeahhhhhhh Poppysocks

so so pleased for you!!!! fingers crossed the line will be even stronger tomorrow!! If its any consolation I'm still testing every day!! xxxxxx

Excitable · 06/12/2007 14:58

Scary your DH gets the cool husband points from me this month - that's fantastic dedication! I will be telling my DH all about that in the hope that some of it will rub off on him. He is being uncharacteristically rubbish this week and I am not taking it well.

Poppysocks a line is a line is a line - congratulations! No worrying about August babies, now. Honestly this is really true, I know a real live astro physicist who was once an August baby and now lectures in something called Cosmology in Rome and is the cleverest man I know.

I have pre-menstrual symptoms big time - I'm stroppy and unreasonable and want to eat lots and my brain has gone. Brain has gone big time, actually. I nearly called poor PS Poopysocks, which isn't at all fair. I'm only CD 13 for goodness sake - how can this be? Anyone know if this is a symptom? Hormones are driving me mental. I'm going to have them all removed as they are so pointless. Anyone else for a hormonectomy?

poppysocks · 06/12/2007 15:14

Thank you everyone! Perhaps poppysocks wasn't such a sensible username...!

Not too worried about the August baby thing as we live north of the border where it seems that the cut off is actually end of Feb/start of March, so this one will actually be slap bang in the middle of the year, whereas DD who is the end of Feb will be the one always trying to catch up. May change if we end up down south again, but will deal with that if/when!

Only thing making me feel slightly nervous is that we always said that a 2.5 yr gap was what we hoped for, ideally. Checked up and it seems my due date will be 17th Feb. EXACTLY 2.5 yrs after DD's. Seems too good to be true....

Sorry Scary forgot to also salute your DH's dedication before. Good stuff!

Sarah - any idea when you might be due?

sarahnh · 06/12/2007 15:20

poppysocks, no idea, i am going to see midwife on the 18th Dec, been speaking to my step dd who is training to be a midwife.. i explained my last two dodgy cycles of 36 days and the fact that i had some spotting in the previous cycle and my last AF was nothing to write home about and she reckons I may be further along that what i thought!!!

We here's hoping... i really reckon not so i think around the 16th August but really really not sure!!!xxxx

GryffinGirl · 06/12/2007 15:41

OHMIGOD contratulations poppysocks ! You never have to worry about August babies if you are North of the Border (which in my humble Jock opinion is the best place to live ) That is brilliant news! Bucky and me will just have to drink your share of the mulled wine

Shazza - this job uncertainty stuff is killing me. I am really sorry to hear you may be in the same boat My firm's enhanced maternity policy is blardy good and I was holding out to get PG. I have been pretty miserably over-worked for along time now and don't like my job, but I am too scared to change and lose out on all the benefits, 'cause I keep thinking "it will be this month" or "just one more month and I will be PG".

"scaryhairy" - come to the meet up on Saturday lunchtime! i think we are still deciding on a venue but it will be central-ish London

hello to everyone else.

Well, I may not have a baby but I have heard the patter of tiny feet around my flat and I have little ones running around - mice that is. The gryffin household has some unwelcome guests. Anyone got a cat I can borrow

Excitable · 06/12/2007 16:46

You can borrow my cat, GriffinGirl but you might regret it. He has a really disconcerting habit of laying out remains of mice like a science experiment - very gory and also messy.

twinklingfairy · 06/12/2007 16:50

Yeah poppysocks
Thats four BFP's today, tht I have heard of

So pleased to hear that it is feb/march that the cut off is, North of the Border, cos I am up there too and I was a little worried for my september born DD but not worried at all now

CD15 here and nothing to report, a little EWCM but not too much, temps are still up and negatives on my OPK tests so not much BD going on. Hope I am not getting all these signs wrong and missing BD opportunites but really don't think I have ov'd so don't see much point in trying to jump a tired DH.
Next week I will get going though, I reckon. Mind you, haven't tested today, who knows I may have to jump DH whether he likes it or not

bambam30 · 06/12/2007 17:03

errmm [hangs head in shame] i was just wondering if answear my earlier question this is my first ttc month i got a ds 2 but he was a very happy chance after 5 cycles of ivf and 4 of ai and eventually just gave up and hey presto but now want another bambino [sorry am waffling] anyway i had dragging pain in my lower back and lower right abdomen for most of last night and am on day 14 could this be ov pain i sometimes have a 28 day and then other times longer or shorter so am confused and a bit scared that i have got on ttc train again ....anybody?

Excitable · 06/12/2007 17:10

Sorry bambam - I've had pains like this around day 14 too. The first time I had a 28 day cycle and the second time I had a 43 day cycle. The pain was enough to wake me up both times. No dragging pain at all this month, so I'm completely confused. i'm sure it's connected to your cycle, but if anyone has an explanation, I'd be interested to know too!

GryffinGirl · 06/12/2007 17:53

excitable - mutilated mice my not be very nice, but it's probably better than having one skittering around my kitchen , so if I could borrow Tiddles I'd be much obliged . DH is absolutely phobic about rodents, which is really very funny

madoldturkey · 06/12/2007 18:06

Just dashing in to say poppysocks Congrats!!!!! Lovely news, and there i was earlier saying we needed a BFP here - thank you for obliging

GG my 3 cats are just packing their bags and getting on the train to offer their services to you. What station shall they get off at?!

poppysocks · 06/12/2007 19:28

It's a pleasure madoldturkey! Just keeping my fingers crossed that the line's still there tomorrow morning and that I haven't just imagined it. (Did get poor DH to check, having just turned the lights on this morning with no warning!)

I'd offer you my daft cat GG but she has a habit of dragging poor caught animals and birds in alive, thinking that we'll somehow be more impressed that way.... So, we don't have a mouse problem as it stands, but do get one occasionally when she lets one go.

Bucky2007 · 06/12/2007 20:42

Congrats Poppysocks

DG hope you went out and are enjoying yourself. I hope it does turn into a BFP but if not it looks like I will be the only boring 2ww-er on Saturday . I am being really good today but tomorrow is our company Xmas party so I have to hatch an abstinence plan. Oh dear I sound like a right alkie...I'm really not, you just become so aware of what you drink when ttc.

GG and shazza that job stuff sounds horrid. My question is..WHY could they not wait till after Xmas it's only bleedin' 18 days away (not counting xmas day)?

Bucky2007 · 06/12/2007 20:52

Oh, got a dress from Monsoon...I bet at least 4 other people are wearing it tomorrow night! Then again, there are only about 10 women in my company so maybe just 2 will have it on.

Its a shorter emerald green version of the purple one Helena is wearing in the photo on here party dress
