MsSparkle · 14/01/2008 13:06

Hello all, my tummy felt really tight last night and i have cramps this morning. Purhaps Af is on her way??

hattyyellow · 14/01/2008 13:53

MsSparkle - could still be pg signs...fingers crossed...

Anyone mind if I just yell arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh into cyberspace?

Finding the wait this month as hard as the first month we started trying again.

Was so calm the last few months, but now it's just infuriatingly annoying and I am finding it so so frustrating.

Bucky what happened to your mantras?

hattyyellow · 14/01/2008 13:55

ps MOB well done you for the alcohol free weekend, I am so impressed!

Jollybear sorry for the BFN..how confusing with the EWCM though, hope that a BFP still turns up for you

loubers · 14/01/2008 14:53

I have been trying for no3 for 3 years now and almost to the point of giving up. I am on day 24 of my cycle and have been having weird brown potting (sorry tmi)for the last few days. I have just turned 39, so wondering if my body is really telling me something, "like your too old love for more babies"!

PrePG · 14/01/2008 15:21

Was previously on the 'Waiting Till January' thread...but since it's January, can I join you all?

6dpo - last night my breasts were so swollen and HEAVY that I ahd to ask DH to feel them to see if he thought the same. He said they felt much denser than usual and they looked quite veiny too.

Today am feeling yucky in my tummy, sore lower back and heartburn, I think. Also getting hotflashes (but that could be down to not knowing how to dress for the freaky London weather anymore!) and feeling a bit lightheaded/dizzy.

thanks for letting me share

hattyyellow · 14/01/2008 15:56

ScaryHairy · 14/01/2008 19:41

Hi everyone

Sorry to hear about all the BFNs. I had one too myself, but then I cracked and tested at 9 DPO so what on earth did I expect?! Bucky it sounds like yours was too early too, so you never know...

MrsSparkle - could be AF, but could it be implantation?

I am 9dpo (or only 7, depending on whether or not you believe Fertilityfriend) and symptoms include really bad cramps and bloating (could be gastro, could be AF, could be implantation), the roof of my mouth tastes funny (metallic? kind of bitter), and I have a sore left boob. Unfortunately if it does turn out to be negative this month I am going to be very disappointed as I have this sort of feeling that it might have worked this cycle. None of this is based on anything much other than the certainty that DH and I had sex at the right time for once... Fingers and toes are crossed.

07mumstheword · 14/01/2008 19:45

DG Although I imagine every possible symptom each and every month when I think back to being PG with dd I didn't have any symptoms until 6-7 wks. It makes you think it's not real but relax and enjoy those tests can't be wrong and I'm sure you'll feel queasy soon.
Also I have a question for you....I've been reading my book about temps and the temp is supposed to go up after ovulation so am I right in thinking that the temp thing is really about knowing your whole cycle rather than dictating the best time to BD? If your temp goes up it appears you've missed the boat so to speak. I will do more reading but you explain it all so well.

Shazza I'm so glad to hear things are going well! Thanks for thinking of us.

Sorry about your BFN Jollybear When you get a BFN you just want AF to get on with it so you can start again?

Welcome loubers & PrePG good luck in your TTC quest.

Hi MOB Hatty Bucky and anyone else I may have forgotten.

ScaryHairy · 14/01/2008 19:52

Yes 07 - temp going up and staying up for three consecutive days is confirmation that ov has already occured. By the time the temp goes up it is usually too late to get pg (the ideal time for sex being shortly before or around ov).
I use OPKs, CM and cervical position to spot when ov is coming and then use temps to confirm that it has happened and that my body did not just "gear up" for ov and then stop for some reason.

07mumstheword · 14/01/2008 20:02

Oh thanks scary it makes sense now. I've collected the fertility monitor from my friend today so I will use that in conjunction with temping. I still have a few CB opk's aswell so might do that as well!

Eleveld · 14/01/2008 20:21

I am TTC to conceive (think on CD 26/27) and have been particularly (in fact, very unusually) 'dry' this month. Practically no CM of any description.

Anyone else had this at certain times? Should I read anything into it?

Thanks

07mumstheword · 14/01/2008 20:28

Eleved I have been very dry over the last couple of cycles. Someone on MN said that sometimes CM doesn't always reach your knickers but is up there.
AND
DG has just said somewhere that she found plenty of CM high up when she was on cervix watch. I'm trying not to read too much into it but if anyone else has another an opinion I would be grateful too.

Eleveld · 14/01/2008 20:31

Thanks 07

It just feels very unusual for me. Although to be honest it could just be that I never noticed before TTC - not used to paying attention to every single sign/symptom that goes on with my 'equipment' iykwim!

LuckyBucky · 14/01/2008 20:39

OMG I just wrote a massive thing and it deleted itself....arghhhhhh .

Basically I said:

TEW is punctual if nothing else. The old stinky ugly evil upherownarse spoiler turned up on time so I am on CD1 . Fingers crossed for my cycle buddies scaryhairy and picknmix {and everyone else of course)

Welcome to PrePG and Loubers. Babydust to you.

and now I am going to change my name because I am not luckybucky, having left my wallet at home, getting drenched by passing cars and having to come back home for a second time to change this morning and now having to go onto Cycle 9 .

07mumstheword · 14/01/2008 20:47

Oh Bucky I'm so so sorry . But if it is any consolation we are cycle buddies I'm CD1 today too. We are close in cycles too I'm heading into cycle 10. Have you bought a thermometer yet?

07mumstheword · 14/01/2008 20:51

Bucky I just popped over the to waiting room and you've updated the list but you're not there with me cycle buddy Are you ok? Don't leave me now.....but I understand if you feel you have to.

MrsEi25 · 14/01/2008 20:54

sorry bucky that AF got to you hun xx i got my long awaited BFP on my cycle 9/10 so you never know it might be a lucky one for you too {{{{{hugs}}}}}
xx ei xx

Bucky2008 · 14/01/2008 21:25

...I had a strop and took myself off...didn't want to think about ANOTHER cycle . I haven't got my thermometer yet, MTW...although I am glad I have a new cycle buddy .

Feel a bit dumb now though and its a bit embarrassing to add myself back on, unless I pretend it was a mistake.... I thought nobody would notice if I sneaked off. I didn't want to say I was going in case I changed my mind, but the idea of ANOTHER month of the egg checking and BDing with military precision is frankly quite unappealing.

I think I am going to be here forever and you are all going to graduate and leave me behind . Oh geez, I'm depressing myself let alone anyone else....sorry!

coolkat · 14/01/2008 21:27

Oh Bucky, sounds like you had shitty day. I had one of those yesterday, pranged DH car, would not have minded if it was mine but his pride and joy, bastard concrete post! Then DD bit through lip in horse riding lesson when horse tripped.

Heres to next month when hopefully I will be back symptom spotting to.... going docs friday as things don't feel 'right'

Hope your all holding up. Loads of BD?!!!!

07mumstheword · 14/01/2008 21:46

Bucky I know exactly what you mean about yet another cycle of military precision BD'ing. It's having a bad effect on our sex life as I peak up to and including a couple of days after OV then I'm not bothered and DH feels used.

You must you must add yourself back on, just sneak in in the morning to update or tell them the truth they'll understand a hormonal strop!

I keep thinking everyones going to leave me too. I've been looking at some old friends on the antenatal threads, Sweetkitty, Shazza, Pigley, Sarahnh to name but a few and it made me think bloody hell will I ever get there. We will
They are all doing fine by the way, SK and Pigley had their scans, Sarah's feeling sick and Shazza is fine! We'll get there I can't wait to feel sick and vow not to moan

ScaryHairy · 14/01/2008 21:51

Sorry that AF showed up Bucky. I can quite understand you wanting to stop planning for a bit. It can put such a strain on things. The problem is that once you start "trying" it's hard to stop.
Still maybe book yourself a nice posh holiday, bin the OPKs and try to relax for a cycle? Go easy on yourself; it will come good in the end I'm sure.

PicknMix · 14/01/2008 22:27

My cycle buddy Bucky - I'm soooo sorry to hear about af arriving. SUCH a witch and perfectly understandable that you are feeling stroppy and hormonal. I'm still waiting at the mo - think my af is due on Sat (at a rough guess, its always a bit haphazard in Picknmix land) and I have practically nothing going on to indicate I might be pregnant. I have slightly sore boobs (nothing unusual there), a wierd sour taste in my mouth (could be due to spicy pasta I ate a few days ago) and constipation!!!! DH is all excited but I, although originally feeling positive, am now feeling down and resigned to af rearing her ugly ugly head.

Sorry, me me me......

MTW also very sad to hear about af arrival for you too. I'm only on month 6 and that feels long enough. You're right, temping is a 'hindsight' type of thing, gets you to see a pattern in your cycle rather than predicting ov. But combined with your fertility monitor I think you're well and truely armed for bding battle, so to speak! Its nice to hear an update on all the old symptom spotters though, glad to hear they're all doing well, thank you.

Hi to newbies PrePG and Eleved. Eleved I've heard evening primrose oil can help 'dryness' (but have read conflicting advice on taking it so I only take it in 1st part of cycle) and so can drinking lots of water. Altho, hats off to MTW for passing on the DG baton of knowledge - she is quite right, cm can 'hide' and cervical persuits can reveal all sorts!!!!
