I am contemplating ov sticks if I don't have any joy this month. Mainly because it will give me something new to obsess over...

I am somewhere between 1 and 6 DPO (ah, the exact science of ttc!) and am 11 days will AF due. Am so glad I have christmas day and post christmas party to distract me in the mean time!

Incidentally, is everyone still thinking that drinking (a civilised amount, a couple of glasses of champagne for me) before a bfp is acceptable behaviour? I just don't feel I can convincingly lie throughout the christmas period when I probably won't get a bfp on NYE anyway!

digitalgirl · 20/12/2007 10:48

sorry AF got you both cbcb and fairy. another round over here please barman.

hopefully after abstaining from alcohol completely didn't bring a BFP, nor did staying off it in the 2ww, I am going back on the booze till I get a BFP. Currently sticking to wine and champagne though (am sure I'll be swigging lunchtime G&Ts next cycle). Although after 5 months of either not drinking or only having the one glass I seem to get pissed rather easily now...cheap date.

sm hope you and your family are ok this xmas.

picknmix a non painful surprise AF is very good news (maybe not as good as a BFP though). Means all your hormones are balanced.

ooooh Mulled Wine!! I had forgotten about that! Yes please, a big mug of the stuff for me! No dainty glass for me!
Mince pies!? Pass the plate!

I used ov sticks and took my temps this month. Reckon I will just do the temping next month. We BD'd late this month cos I was waiting for the ov stick to tell me when, then we got stage fright!!
Should just have trusted what my body was telling me.

Part of me is secretly pleased to not be pregnant this month. My brother is coming up for new year and, while it would have been nice to announce a baby on the way, it will be fun to relax and take a good drink with him and his new lady
He lives at the other end of the country so that it means I rarely get to see him.

. Where is everyone? I wanna come and party too .

TEW has been super busy today. What's going on???? Did you all smack her about a bit, or did she manage to dodge you? Pull her hair next time and have a dynasty Alexis vs Chrystal fight and kick her ass. Actually, maybe I am the only person old enough to remember Chrystal and Alexis .

Where has my cycle Buddy PicknMix gone? hello there...hope your having a good day. I hope I don't scare you off like I did Abbey when she was my cycle buddy. .

Hi DG you have been very quiet. Are you out largin' it?

Ah well, seems like I missed you all, give me a call from the club if you are still in there. I fancy a bit of a bop and I've got my virtual party dress on. [grin[.

mummy2olivia · 20/12/2007 21:24

Hi again everyone- been knicker watching today. only 2dpo- what is wrong with me??!!

Can I have a drink???

digitalgirl · 20/12/2007 22:41

quite surprisingly I've been on my own at home for over two hours and have only just succumbed to MN

suddenly started spotting again. which is rather annoying at CD9, have also had a constant ache down there which is odd. wondered if it was from the examination on tuesday. having not had a smear for a good few years I had forgotten just how uncomfortable that contraption thing is, a thought briefly flashed across my mind 'if this is unpleasant then what the hell is childbirth like and am I sure I want to do it?'.

the gynae also checked the size of my womb with her fingers which was also really weird...i suppose those of you out there who are already mothers are tutting at my naivety.

also, just watched a disturbing thing on the news...'natural cesareans' very very weird

well I've been taking this 'back on the booze' decision to heart. having quaffed champers at the company do on Tuesday night, I then met friends for bellini's last night and then another friend for a glass of wine today at lunchtime. DG's got her festive hat on now where's that virtual sherry?

It is one thing to be poked and prodded when you are in labour, quite another at any other time. That does not sound nice at all, not surprised you are feeling a little sore DG.

My sister, now that is another thing. 23 and she took mum when she got her smear
And, when it is anything at all to do with discussing her nether regions, she insists that either I or my mum accompany her (then sits and stares at us when asked any questions, so we have to answer for her). I think that is a little niaive.
Where in earth did she get it from. I had my first smear when I was 16 (maybe I should be embarassed by that but they told me to get it done as soon as I was active, so I did as I was told) I didn't see the fear in it at all. They showed me how to check my boobs, at the same time, it all felt perfectly normal and natural to me.

Oh god just look at that ramble. I have defo had a few too many mugs of mulled wine

hopefully · 21/12/2007 09:56

So how soon after ov am I allowed to start imagining pg symptons? I am 2-4 DPO (not charting or anything, so am estimating based on ewcm/length of cycle) and cannot find even a hint of an imaginary sympton yet. I want some! Anyone got any they want to lend me?

digitalgirl · 21/12/2007 10:12

hopefully some eggs implant as early as 5dpo...so from tomorrow you can symptom spot with gusto. but don't let that stop you today.

i've just been talking to my mum about my long cycles. turns out she had the same. over 45 days, with 14 day AFs. and me and my sister are proof that you can conceive on wacky cycles. hooray!

anyway, am on CD10 and still spotting .

Fantastic DG, I will spend the rest of my last day at work before christmas imagining cramps, nausea, tiredness etc to my heart's content!

I really feel for people with long/unpredictable cycles. With my impatience/general brattiness, I would be having a proper tantrum if my cycles weren't regimentally organised.

Excitable · 21/12/2007 13:39

I'm very bored with my long cycles too. Another one and I think I'll have to cart myself off to the doctors.

Is an ache at the front of my pelvis on the right hand side a symptom?
