Come in, take your heels off and get cosy!

Hello all.

Welcome back GG

Still no AF here. Couldn't resist testing again and still BFN. I don't understand. If LPs are always the same...how can I get a on CD14 one month and AF or CD27 and then get a on CD14 another month and no AF and no sign of AF on CD29?? . Even if the egg hatched a bit later it wouldn't be two days later surely??

JollyBear · 17/12/2007 17:04

Afternoon all,

I'm not sure Bucky, fingers crossed you are one of those ladies who takes a few days of AWOL AF to get a BFP.

I'm afraid I have a rotten cold so must retire back off to bed now. I've already had one cold this winter

[waves to everyone - slopes off to bed with albos oil and a box of tissues]

ScaryHairy · 17/12/2007 19:52

Hi everyone

DG I am so glad to see that you are feeling better.

Bucky I have had the same thing as you this time. Fierce cramps, then brown gunk (not enough for a tampon) and then ... nothing. I had this a couple of cycles ago, though, and AF did start up after 24 hoursa or so so for me it is probably nothing. I've got everything crossed for you though.

Actually I have have twinges low down on one side (now gone). I was wondering whether it (and the brown gunk) might be the result one of those follicular cysts. Have any of you ladies got experience of these?

07 your DH sounds lovely and supportive. I hope you're feeling happier now.

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 17/12/2007 20:01

Bucky hope remains until TEW sings. I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

Mums really sorry to hear about TEW. I hope you have success for your anniversary - it would be a lovely present.

Well, like most other people on here it's been a very emotional month. I think it's because it's Christmas and it would be so lovely to tell family that we're expecting a new member. there's certainly something more poignant about ttc at this time of year.

I'm not due until Thursday, but I'm expecting her. I'm not going to fib - I'm secretly hoping, but a large part of me is already resolved that I'm not pg again. I feel run down and ill (my lymph gland in my neck has been sticking out since March which is rather worrying, it's now slightly larger than a golf ball. Am on referral for it). It's been a long half term and the kitchen is a hassle, but ttc has certainly made things twenty times harder. I don't know whether I'm capable of taking an unpressured approach to the whole thing. I honestly don't know what else DH and I can do to make a baby. I'm sure many of you can identify with this.

I feel fat (and I am, it's not an illusion! Pushing 13 stone and filling size 16 to capacity. Married life has truly made me chubby and takeaway every day is not helping). I feel fed up. I want to be pg, have a nice new kitchen that costs what was estimated to fit and with few trips to B&Q for missing parts, and for it to be Christmas. Ahh, presents!!!!

Sandies · 17/12/2007 20:39

Hi all. It's been a long, hard term Abby. Chillax chick. Only a couple of days to go.
I'm hopeful for you Bucky - best of luck x
I'm affected by the brown gunge so af is on target - prob Thursday or Fri.Time is ticking and I'm def not getting any younger.

07Christmasistheword · 17/12/2007 21:19

Just popped in to say thank you all for your kind words. I'm feeling ok today. Like you Abby I just don't know what more we can do to make a baby and I'm not sure if I could even "Pretend" to be relaxed about it. I really want to give a what will be will be attitude but a few days into my cycle I start thinking of OPK's, then the BD'ing and finally the torture of the last week. what's a girl to do?

Bucky Fingers crossed for you hun.

Sandies I read your story you have had a rough ride of it, I hope things come good for you soon. I'm just heading into cycle 9. I'm 34 so starting to wonder if I'm getting past it

Abby Sorry you're feeling fed up too. I'm struggling with my weight at the moment, I'm squeezing into my size 12-14 thinking that I may have to go up another size especially with all the chocolate we have and the lack of will power I have! I'm just going to go with the flow over Christmas and New Year and yes you've guessed what my New Years Resolution is...

Sorry to anyone I may not have mentioned personally and thanks all for being so nice.

Give me a couple of days and I should be back on form again planning my seduction techniques and getting ready for action.

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 17/12/2007 23:02

Just come back from yet another Christmas do..my third! This one was my work department christmas dinner. Not too late back thank goodness. One more to go on Wednesday, then there is mum and pop dinners weekend before Christmas and weekend after and its all over. Apart from actual Christmas day that we are going to the pub for dinner for...hurrah. First time ever I am having xmas at home!

Anyway. Just popped in to say goodnight. Drank lots of wine, if there is to be no baby there will be wine! And that's all I have to say on the subject.

digitalgirl · 18/12/2007 10:17

bucky left a message for you in the waiting room.

have just come back from a very quick doc appt. not a big surprise to find out that my progesterone test showed i didn't ovulate. it was done on CD29 of a 45 day cycle, 8 days after a positive opk (cd21).

that makes two cycles in a row (that I know of) where I've had the LH surge and no egg.

am looking forward to telling the gynae all this info later. i wonder what diagnosis he'll make: PCOS? Peri-menopause?
I can't have used up all my eggs, I was on the pill from age 17 to 27.

acupuncturist is sending me for a second opinion with another acupuncturist who also does herbs. am beginning to lose my faith in this. so far, the only positive things this acupuncture has done is give me really clear skin and give me an excuse to leave work early on monday. I suppose this cycle didn't get any longer...but then it didn't exactly get much shorter. I'll give it a couple more cycles. maybe once i can give them the gynae diagnosis they'll be able to target the treatment better.

good luck this week abby, you've got a hell of a lot on at the moment...I hope you manage to relax over the xmas period.

GryffinGrinch · 18/12/2007 10:58

hello everyone

DG - I am so sorry about your test results and progesterone levels . Try not to worry and think too much about it, which is easier said than done, I know . There was a thread on here before talking about PCOS and how treatable it is, but i am jumping the gun. Thinking of you m'dear and sending you lotso f happy festive wishes. maybe acupuncture takes some time - it sounds like it is very relaxing

Abbey and 07 - Can I join the "my clothes are too tight too" club . It doesn;t help that generous people bring tins of Quality Street into the office. I am dreading going home at Christmas to stand next to my skinny-minnie sisters and size 10 mum

Morning Bucky - fo you have a hang over. You have had the best party season so far and enjoy all the wine [fgin]

DH and I have been busy BD-ing as much as possible 'caus eit, but he is off abroad tonight for a couple fo days which is not great timing, but I have resolved that until i get back from hliday in mid-Jan, I won;t stress about TTC

hello sandies - hope you are doing ok today. The teachers on the thread (you and Abbey? )will be finishing up soon - I bet you cannot wait for the holidays.

update#2

went to gynae's appt today. she's set me up for all the blood tests: FSH/LH, prolactin, testosterone, progesterone and the thyroid one. obviously as we've only been ttc since aug, she won't be looking at it from a fertility angle just the irregular periods angle.

have a scan booked in for jan 21st, but unfortunately coz I'm now on cd7, I'll have to wait till next cycle to do all the blood tests...if it's anything like the last two cycles I'll be on holiday during the crucial days. so, might have to wait till feb/march time....don't mind really. nothing they'll do about ftc till august anyway, so a couple of months won't make any difference.

so, am not going to do opks anymore (too expensive and don't indicate ovulation anyway). will continue to take temps for a couple more cycles. am also going to not guess when I'm on the 2ww at all this cycle. will do a test just before i go on holiday (jan 27 - CD46).

so that's all folks. can't really do more at this stage other than get bd'ing once AF finally hits the road. DH has promised we can bd every other day ALL cycle and with my 6/7 week cycles that's a BIG promise .

OP posts:
PicknMix · 18/12/2007 19:58

DG In some ways I want to say 'yay' cos it sounds like your gynae Dr is being very thorough - it is annoying that you're going to have to wait a while for the tests but must be a slight relief that all is being looked into and will hopefully give you some indication of what is going on. Sounds like a good plan to stop with the OPKs but continue temping - if anything to just give your temps to the gynae next time you go, 'every little helps' and all that.

I had BIG surprise today - thought it was weird that my back was hurting a bit (thought maybe I'd picked up something heavy and hurt it) and then - wham - af pays a totally early visit on me. No pre-warning and - apologies for tmi - it just literally gushed out whilst I was serving a customer at work. Had to make excuse to run off to toilet . No excrutiating pain, no boobs that hurt to even brush against just back ache. Am much earlier than expected - only cd 31 (usually 42+ day cycles). Odd.

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 18/12/2007 20:32

Woah PicknMix bet that was a bit shocking .

DG at least you have got the ball rolling sooner rather than later and you can feel a bit proactive about it. Nothing worse that feeling like you have no control over what is happening to you.

TEW sent her identical twin from O7MTWs house over to mine today. She caught me off guard so I couldn't slap her about . So CD1 but still living with the CD14 mystery . Thanks DG for attempting and explanation. I kind of get what your saying, but its still a bit odd. And I am still suspicious of my LP?

Nice to see you CBCB where've you been? I'm right there with you in the feeling frumpy brigade. I keep eating Thorntons toffee though , its like a compulsion. We got a hamper as a gift from DPs work and there is the biggest box of toffee ever in there. I am getting SOOOO rotund its v. bad.

Afternoon all,

My cold is now passing thankfully and I can almost breathe again through my nose, hurrah for that

Abby Your cats pics are gorgeous! I know it was last week when I was talking cats with Glasto but I've been under my duvet since then! Your story about your lost cat being returned to you was lovely Glasto. I was welling up a bit. I have to visit the vets today as Mr Tabby has a very weepy eye. He isn't going to like me later on.

PicknMix that sounds awful! Surprise gushing at work, poor you.

DG Glad your appointment was OK. It is good to hear they are looking into your cycles. Your DH is committed, you'd best get his stamina up on spinach and steak. I hope we can spot symptoms together in the new year cycle buddy!

Hello to GG Bucky 07 cbcb Sandies and anyone else I've missed!

twinklingfairy · 19/12/2007 16:53

Hi all, haven't been on for ages cos I have had zero symptoms I am pretty certain I am out for the count this month too, BFN this morn and small amount of brown spotting this avo, sorry if TMI.
I said I was gonna leave it to Saturday to test too, but just couldn't resist this morning.

I couldn't take my temp properly either this morn, DD woke up at 7.30 and I norm take the temp at 9. So I knew it would be lower.
In the end I got about 1hr sleep(they say you should have 3hrs sleep before taking it) and took it 9ish as norm, but it was waaay higher than 7.30 so I dunno what is going on, but I am fairly sure it is dipping

twinklingfairy · 19/12/2007 17:17

ooh!! Maybe my temp dip was for implantation!
Have just input my info on fertility friend and it says I am in the implantaion period. I hadn't thought on that.
Only 11dpo today.
Could be implantation?

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 19/12/2007 17:47

It's quiet on here. I'm just popping in, amidst the chaos, to say hello to everyone. I'm thinking of you all.

Sorry about AF Picknmix and Bucky. Think TEW is soon to jump me, am feeling pmt and I'm due tomorrow. I am so getting sloshed this Christmas. I realise this is not sensible, but it's been earned!

I'll be back soon, when the mess dies down.

Excitable · 19/12/2007 17:57

Oooh Twinklingfairy I hope you're right.

I've got loads of symptoms this month. I'm clumsy, I'm really hot, I've lost my brain big style, I've had backache, I've been constipated and everything is a bit smelly today especially tmi my wee. Is smelly wee a symptom.

I'm still well aware that none of this is conculusive proof that I'm pregnant, but I really hope it is. Really REALLY hoping. Absolutely setting myself up for a fall in the new year.

No idea when AF is due because of wacko cycle lengths, so she could make an appearance any time in the two weeks beginning on Saturday...

Excitable · 19/12/2007 20:16

TEW is spending way to much time with us. Do you think it would help if we were really mean to her when she's here? Perhaps we could pull her hair and send her to Coventry? She definitely deserves it...

santasmissus · 19/12/2007 20:23

hello

been offline the last couple of days, fil funeral yesterday, it was as ok as it could be under the circs.

congratulations pennybenjamin on your bfp

well, not sure if we might have missed the egg boat again not too bothered as have had lots of stuff going on. was opk but stayed at my mothers on monday and forgot to take one. did one last night declining levels i think. ewcm last night. did bd last night too so maybe ok. apparently it's 24-36 hours after surge and have had some ovvy type pains today; opk -ve today. we shall see, we shall see, not getting too worked up about it at the minute - maybe will by the end of 2ww.

mummy2olivia · 19/12/2007 21:09

Hi Guys!! Can i join you? Came on here about a year ago for a few months cos we ttc before our wedding. Gave up for a bit and started again in august (confused yet??!!). well wedding has gone now and I'm in cycle 5 and still not pg. boo.

I need some serious support and someone to talk to- sick of hearing 'it will happen' when right now i feel like it never will

O'd yesterday and now on 2ww. fingers crossed. feel tearful today at the thought of more disappointment.

twinklingfairy · 19/12/2007 22:48

Hiya mummy2olivia Don't worry you are not alone. I am on my 5th cycle and am starting to feel like it will never happen for me either. Well, that is to say, I have a lovely DD but really want number 2.

Mustn't complain I guess, so many others try for twice as long!

Well, reckon I am gonna get hit by TEW tonight, my brown spotting has turned pinkish Though, TMI alert, the brown was very stetchy earlier, does this mean anything hopeful at all??

But hey, at least we have a cycle buddy in on another
