Come in, take your heels off and get cosy!

Hmm, meant to comment on Excitable's symptoms and selfishly forgot . Are you OK now Excitable. Hope it was just a freak incident and all has returned to normal now .

Abbey I just checked the waiting room and I am actually CD23! So by Sunday I will be CD28! So should get a result one way or the other...still scared though.

DG Where are you hiding?? You can't escape us you know, we will track you down on other threads on MN and stalk you till you come back .

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 11/12/2007 21:48

Hah!!

It's the Grinch, come to steal Christmas...

.

That's okay, as long as he leaves us DG .

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 11/12/2007 21:49

I've started a thread on pregnancy (premature - I hear you say ). Asking ladies how long it took them to conceive. I was being nosey.

They type fast over there! They're a very lovely bunch. We need to hurry the BFPs so we can go and join them...

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 11/12/2007 21:53

Bucky OOOO - you could test even earlier then! I might have done a sneaky one tonight after all the testing talk. BFN. Which we all knew, given it's CD20 and last wee of the day rather than first! Damn my impatience .

I've got to take 90 children to the theatre tomorrow night. I hate the responsibility of it. I'd rather be at home eating the Roses my DH brought home from work! Think of me, as I disappear under a mound of haribo and complaints from members of the public...

hidingbehindthesofa · 11/12/2007 22:06

hello again,
i've been lying low trying not to obsess, but have been reading these threads lots!
great post on the pregnancy site abby - its really nice to read all the responses.
i'm on CD7 and waiting to get going with BD'ing. impatient

twinklingfairy · 11/12/2007 22:07

Presumably u are taking them to the panto abby?
In that case tell the members of public to wheesht, its meant to be noisey!!

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 12/12/2007 07:05

Unfortunately, no twinklingfairy - a production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Am stressing. Will be a long day...

Morning all,

Sorry to hear about your FIL Shreksmussus. christmas is always a sad time when you have lost a loved one. Hope your family are ok.

DG - Please don't leave I agree with what the others have said. It doesn't matter if there are any symptoms to spot or not. Do let us know you are ok.

[waves madly to everyone else]

I am on day 28 and am usually 31- 40 days, but I've just started getting brownish start of AF stuff but have no usual AF symptoms. Could it be implantation bleeding or am I clutching at straws?! I think I ovulated about CD 19/20.

GryffinGirl · 12/12/2007 11:17

morning all,

I go away from the thread for one day and it gallop sforward!

DG - we simply won't let you leave the thread. It's not really for symptom spotting all the time, but hanging out with a bunch of very nice TTC-ers and we'd miss you far too much if you left us. I can't believe the nurse can't interpret the test result for you

abbey - SIL has (i think - BIL told me and he didn't go into great detail) premature ovarian failure or premature menopause, the upshot being that they cannot conceive without a donor egg and IVF/hormone therapy. I don't know what they are doing now and I suppose, like me TTC and keeping it very private they are not telling anyone their plans. I don't want to pry and actually think DH and I are the only ones they have told - MIL and FIL certainly don't know, but may have guessed. They both earn good salaries, but I have noticed that they don't go on such nice holidays now and have put off doing up their kitchen which they were talking about last year, so I wondered if they are paying/saving up for treatment

Bucky - excellent symptoms!!! keep us posted.

annie - absolutely agree with the charting thing and have been using OPK's for a couple of months which has confirmed what I had guessed through EWCM spotting and counting days - that I have a regular as clockwork 28 day cycle and OV at about day 13. I am going to go back to the doctors, but in all honesty, I have had the wind taken out my sails and will park it until the new year. That's partly neccessity 'cause I am away for 3+ weeks over Christmas and New Year anyway.

hiding are we cycle buddies this month?

hello to everyone else and many festive greetings to you,

07mumstheword · 12/12/2007 11:22

Bucky & Abby I'm planning on testing Sunday too. I don't feel PG but can't wait and it does my head in. AF is actually due Monday so I could test earlier (and may end up doing so knowing my impatience) but we are going out with friends on Saturday night and I don't want to be disappointed/emotional if it is BFN and I don't want to let it slip out if it's a BFP.

I'm trying to be positive as it's our first wedding anniverary 30th Dec so if AF does show we could be conceiving our second DC on that special day in a luxury hotel room.

Hello to everyone else and DG you haven't really left us have you?

digitalgirl · 12/12/2007 11:47

haven't left...been lurking

went out to a xmas party with work last night. Boss#1 has been off on paternity leave. Turns up and corners me to tell me all about changing nappies etc. End up talking to Boss#2's wife, who is now 13 weeks, she asks me when I'm going to start having babies. I pretended I couldn't hear her .

I think any pregnant woman who asks a childless woman when they're going to start a family, clearly hasn't had any problems conceiving. I would NEVER ask anyone that in front of other people at a party.

Best of luck to those testers this weekend, I hope you get your xmas bfps

PicknMix · 12/12/2007 11:53

DG I can't assume to know just how you're feeling at the moment but you sound so despondent. I agree with all the rest that this is no longer a 2ww thread, more a 'pore your heart/troubles/joys out' thread. Please don't go anywhere!

GG Not sure if its any help to you but the Nice Guidelines on fertility are worth a read in terms of what is expected from the NHS with regards to fertility issues. Unfortunately, as with most things, it is a postcode lottery but the NICE guidelines do state that after 12 months of ttc is the norm for beginning tests etc. If you can wade through it all, print that bit out and wave it under your gp's nose when you get back from holiday!!

Am getting excited for all you Sunday testers - I'm still a long way off so am living my ttc poas addiction through you guys at the moment!!

GryffinGirl · 12/12/2007 13:27

and for you DG at that insensative woman at your Christmas party. I would never think of saying that to anyone. I am so sorry that had to happen to you.

GryffinGrinch · 12/12/2007 13:29

thanks for the guidelines picknmix

JollyBear · 12/12/2007 13:54

DG - What a horrible experience. and Hope you feel ok today.

How's everyone else? Any symptoms twinkle, excitable, bucky, anyone else?!

Oh Abby, I love your thread on the Pregnancy board!

digitalgirl · 12/12/2007 13:56

gg you got a xmas name!

apart from you ladies...this has cheered me up today

OP posts:
07Christmasistheword · 12/12/2007 14:18

Hi DG So glad you're still here. How insensitive of people last night they really have no idea. I always squirm when I'm asked "are you having any more" I want to scream YES IF I BLOODY CAN!! But normally say politely hopefully one day. Also someone said " it's about time you had another" and I wanted to say it's about time you minded your business! thats my rant.

I've gone all Chrismasy too

GG love your new Christmasy name, I'm a little uninventive (sp?)

Abby Looked at the thread about how long it took people to conceive. A lot of them seem quite young, made me feel old Some long one's there too. but got there in the end

GryffinGrinch · 12/12/2007 14:52

07CITW - I can't take credit for GryffinGrinch. That goes to Bucky who suggeste dit. I had a creative name blank!

DG - I am PML at that clip. I love the Muppets!

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 12/12/2007 15:27

I can't see the link DG . The internet gestapo have blocked it...grr. Glad you are still here

Jollybear brown blood is old blood so it could in theory be implantation. Although I think most people see it a little earlier...I had the same thing about the same time as you though so it's possible!

Just popping my head in again. Finn has his Christmas Party at Dog school tonight and he will be (or at least I hope he will be) doing his piece de resistance...putting his toys away in his bed, for his party trick. They all have to do a trick for the last class so wish me luck!!

Waves to all....

Sandies · 12/12/2007 20:10

Hi to everyone. I'm very new to mumsnet and the whole TTC thing. Am 36 39 OK, I'm 41, had three kids and thought I would have no problems having one 21 years after the first.....Seemed a perfectly sensible thought at the time!! Been reading the thread for a few nights and can tell yur a fun bunch, can I join? Not many women my age are ttc!!.

coolkat · 12/12/2007 20:57

postcard from CoolKat

Hello ladies, all seems well in your neck of the woods, hello Sandies, they are a lovely bunch on here, hard to follow as so much happens but great.

As i said last time my bleeding stopped and not used contraception but waiting period befor try again. I feel like m/c not happened to me.Life just continued. Things seem really hard at home me and DH are both so short with one another. I don't think we talked enough about what happened

How did Finn do Bucky? hopefully star of the show, our puppy getting a little better although not convinced!

DG you can not leave the thread, I feel for you as you must be feeling down. Thinking of you.

See you soon Ladies - Love to you all. X

digitalgirl · 12/12/2007 21:04

welcome sandies , so going for number 4 then! good luck!

I think AF has arrived and not with the usual crippling cramps. so that would make that cycle 44 days, which is an improvement on the last one. perhaps acupuncture has worked after all. I'm also a bit pissed after sharing a bottle of pinot with a friend tonight

OP posts:
Sandies · 12/12/2007 21:08

coolcat I had a mc in Oct. DH couldn't/wouldn't talk about it for ages. I read somewhere that men feel an overwhelming guilt as they watch us go through the symptoms and after effects. I left DH to it and found a friend who had had a mc years before. DH came around and opened up eventually, very emotional.Hope all goes well, don't rush into anything. Very sensible to wait at least a month. I needed that time to mourn and to acknowledge that I had been pregnant - and grieve for all those thoughts, the love and plans I had for the little might.X

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 12/12/2007 21:17

Welcome Sandies.

How you doing today dg

OOOh guess what....Finn won first prize HURRAH . He was soo good and clever. I felt so proud!
