Hi everyone and welcome Sandies. DG - poor you having to put up with that at a party...

Am glad to hear that the acupuncture might be helping you. I used acupuncture from about 6 months after my DD was born when I felt terribly out of whack. My periods had come back when she was 14 weeks old, but put in irregular appearances only and I had pains every month or so but no bleeding. I credit the acupuncture with getting me down from 60-90 day cycles to 36 days each time. I think there is lots of value in doing things that feel positive and involve taking care of yourself, and I found acupuncture very relaxing.

I have a tummy ache this evening, which could be AF coming, implantation or stress, frankly. Last night my car was vandalised (some fecker stole the BONNET) and, ok, it's only a car, but it has been a big hassle to deal with today. Plus I saw it happen so have had about 2 hours sleep as I had to deal with the police, get my car taken somewhere safe, find my insurance policy etc etc.

Am having a couple of glasses of wine to calm down and hoping that if my egg is up to anything good it won't mind too much...

I'm continuing to feel sick, but again that could be stress and today, in the work canteen the strong smell of fish nearly made me sick... although it might just have been terribly smelly fish!

digitalgirl · 12/12/2007 21:18

xposted coolkat thinking of you too. glad the bleeding's stopped, hope you and DH manage to relax a little over the next few weeks. xmas can be a tense time without the ttc rollercoaster complicating things.

OOh sorry dg just saw that TEW got you . Well at least there is wine .

Try to keep positive for another round...

Sandies · 12/12/2007 21:23

Oddly enough it will be number 5 DG! My fab and lovely grandson lives with me, DH and myself are his legal guardians. He's 2.5 and is soooo lovely we thought we would try again.Cheers! I'm on wine and alone...sounds very sad indeed...

digitalgirl · 12/12/2007 21:26

scary that is a pain! why take the bonnet?? hope your tummy ache is a good ache and not a bad ache!

bucky congrats on Finn's star prize!! all thanks to his clever mistress teaching him the best trick ever!
am ok thanks, not feeling as rubbish as last time TEW came knocking. it's quite light at the mo...and after holly's 'light period' turned into a BFP I'm holding out far too much hope! silly digital girl, will she ever learn?

ScaryHairy · 12/12/2007 22:08

They took the headlights too, and not the radio (the glovebox had not even been opened) so I think they were just after spare parts, perhaps for their own car, rather than on a general trawl for anything of value. It was the wierdest thing I have ever seen. The police found it pretty strange too!

Sandies · 12/12/2007 22:14

poor you scaryhairy. The wierdest thing we had nicked from home were ice lollies from the freezer - it wasn't all they took but def the strangest. Year 10 boys nicked tampons from my bag at school - fairly wierd too. TEW? I'd like to sympathise but have no idea...

digitalgirl · 12/12/2007 22:21

i once had the wind screen wipers nicked off my car. was annoying because it was raining and I couldn't drive anywhere till we got some new ones.

My friend had the handles of her handbag pinched at school. Made us laugh. I have the old familiar cramps which signal her arrival but a week early. Naffed off

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 13/12/2007 07:16

Sandies - Welcome. Are you a secondary teacher too? Another educator of the ungrateful?! What do you teach? Am writing this through the haze of dragging myself out of bed after theatre trip last night. I'm still worrying I left one behind and don't know about it yet. It's been the longest and most painful half term. A week and a day to go (not that I'm counting ).

Morning all! Hope everyone has a lovely day.

07Christmasistheword · 13/12/2007 08:56

Hi everyone.

Bucky Well done Finn, you must have been sooo proud!

DG Glad to see you're still here. I don't know whether to say TEW got you or not? At least the cycle was shorter.

Welcome Sandies It sounds like you have a full house already good luck with having another.

Scary How odd! Very frustrating for you. They musn't have been after the parts musn't they? Hope the insurance deal with it swiftly for you.

Abby Hope all the children got back safe and sound last night.

I'm CD22 (of a 26/27 cycle) and for the last few days I have had a pulling/crampy type sensation low down on my right hand side. I am obsesssing as usual wanting to test but frightened to test. I think I may have convinced myself I feel a bit quesy from time to time and that my boobs feel slightly heavier but all this can be AF so I should just put it to the back of my mind, easier said than done!

PicknMix · 13/12/2007 09:57

Morning all!

Hello to Sandies and welcome

DG think I might have crossed posts with you yesterday - really pleased to see you're back but not so pleased to see AF has arrived (although its good that only 44 days this month, long but better than before).

Bucky - yay to finn!!!

Scary how very annoying for you - what a complete arse some people are. Wierd and annoying in fact

Abby have you managed to account for everybody yet? No waifs and strays still at the theatre?

mtw I don't want to add to your obsession but your symptoms sound very promising - have my fingers quietly but firmly crossed for you!

Well, last night my DH was working a night shift and guess what turned up?! EWCM in abundance..... Am cos its yet another month that we'll miss - this morning I have stomach ache which always marks ov for me so thinking tonight will prob be too late (plus I have my works Christmas 'do' so will be late home). Bugger.

twinklingfairy · 13/12/2007 10:00

Oh Scary You said you watched them doing it??
How long did the police take to get to you then?
Sorry, I forget Is there a DH/DP in the house?

twinklingfairy · 13/12/2007 10:02

How do you ladies feel about taking your DH's name, when you get married?
My SIL didn't take it and has posted a spikey comment on bebo because we sent our christmas card to the 'fairies'

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 13/12/2007 10:03

Right there with you O7CTW, I swear I have had a dull ache since my cramps the other day . And there was me going 'oh no, am beyond being bothered about it anymore, don't even worry about AF blahdiblah', now I am clutching at straws and focusing on every feeling. My sense of smell is supersonic at the moment. However, I do get that pre AF sometimes and she is due at the weekend!

I really want it to happen for all of us on the thread at the same time though....

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 13/12/2007 10:08

Twinklingfairy pmsl at . Do I take it that she took offence to you addressing the card to Mr & Mrs B, instead of Ms A & Mr B? If so, I would roll my eyes twice and say, if you are a strong independant woman and you know your own name, why would it bother you if somebody called you Mrs B (unless you think your husband is a muppet of course, and then you shouldn't have married him). I think, keep your name if you want to, many of my friends have for a variety of reasons, professional, being the only child etc., but it's pathetic to get upset if you get the odd bit of correspondence addressed to you both traditionally.

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 13/12/2007 10:09

So there tee hee .

twinklingfairy · 13/12/2007 10:14

Yes, she did. The was two-fold though because she is constantly doing our heads in (ok prob mainly mine) with her nonsense, but also cos she actually posted the comment. It was so clearly aimed at us cos that is how we communicate really.
But I feel that she did not take the name, to please her mother (who she so desperately wants to please but who never is) and because she does not think much of BIL family. Long story and history

PicknMix · 13/12/2007 10:20

My friend hasn't taken her husbands surname (we have many long conversations mulling over the merits of it) but she hasn't told her family that she has kept her name as they are quite old fashioned and she's not quite sure they'd understand!

Your SIL sounds a delight though infact, sounds vaguely reminicent of mine

GryffinGrinch · 13/12/2007 11:10

woweee Bucky it sounds like you have really excellent symptoms this month! When are you testing? p.s. see you romorrow!

DG - I have only skimmed the thread, 'cause work has been manic and I am so sorry that AF turned up. It is sh*t, but I'll be here for a while longer to keep you company I think

scary - cannot believe that they nicked the car headlights. Weird!

sanies - welcome to the thread! Lots of us are TTC our first on this thread, so it's great to have another person with "experience" in the TTC lark

hello to everyone else and sorry if I have missed anything - I haven't been able to keep up and check in as much as I;d like.

Update - DH went to the doctor's this morning and had a far better exerience than me! He has been referred to the hospital to test his little swimmers. Amazingly, he can go at any time to the hospital for the test (walk in clinic ), but you have to abstain from BD-ing for 3 days before you go. We haven't this week and Mon, Tues, Wed next week are the KEY days for us, then it's Christmas, then we are away . Sooooo, the question is, do we give BD-ing a miss during the crucial time this month or postpone everything until nearly Feb when we get back from our holiday? I am inclined towards the lattter. I think it would put a tremendous dampener on our Christmas if we found out something major. Oh decisions, decisions....

santasmissus · 13/12/2007 11:40

morning all

hope everyine is ok. have brought some cranberry muffins mmmmmmmm.

sorry tew seems like she's making her way to some of you

promising symptoms bucky.

glad you're still here dg hope you're a bit brighter.

cheeky beggars scary!

was proud to takle dh's name, tf. agree with bucky strong independent women who know their own name needn't get so worked up about such trivia, unless husbands is a muppet as bucky then shouldn't bother with him never mind name!

thanks for all the kind words re fil. we're going back next week for funeral but leaving dd with my mother. mot ope you and your family are coping as well with your loss.

07Christmasistheword · 13/12/2007 12:19

Bucky The smell thing is another good sign. Are you still testing Sunday? I think I will but since I last posted I don't feel the PG symptoms. It really is as if I made it all up then once I got it off my chest felt there is no hope again this month, even the stitch thing seems to have gone.

Picknmix Damn this timing thing 12-48 hours is just not enough sometimes.

Twinkling I was proud to take my DH's surname. Some people are funny aren't they.

GG Good news for DH being seen so quickly maybe that will give you some sway with your doctors in the new year so you can get seen by a specialist too?

santamissus Hope the funeral goes as well as can be expected.

digitalgirl · 13/12/2007 12:27

oh yummy, I love cranberry muffins!

thanks for all your warm and positive words girls. am desperately trying to limit my MN time today as have some ideas to write up for a brief.

bucky & ctw looking good

gg I say wait till after the hols, his swimmers ain't going anywhere so might as well enjoy christmas.

scary hope you got more sleep last night

fairy I've kept my own surname, but still like it when I see Mr & Mrs on cards...

picknmix I get EWCM all over my cycle. probably means i'm not ov'ing...but you might have some more today and so you'll still be in with a chance.

I am also clutching at straws...AF was a bit red last night, but now is brown, a lot more like the spotting I got last cycle and my temp seems on it's way back up again. I honestly have no idea if this is a proper period because it doesn't feel anything like my last one (no sore boobs at all this week or morning cramps).

The acupuncture could have affected it OR it could just be that this is a withdrawal bleed because I've not ovulated. I was getting EWCM two to three times a week for the past couple of weeks so it's quite likely.

working from home today...must change out of my dressing gown...will be one of those rubbish mums who never washes her hair

OP posts:
BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 13/12/2007 12:56

I agree GG wait till you get back. If there is no problem you could come back with a BFP, if there is a problem then like you say why would you want to know over the party period!

07CTW Don't lose hope. You did have some symptoms...you never know . I stared at my super cheap Ebay tests this morning. They were WAY cheaper than I realised, i.e. just stick of paper . So not sure how they will work. Apparently they are early tests, but I have yet to be convinced. Anyway, if I don't chicken out, and AF doesn't turn up, I will test on Sunday AM.

DG What's going on Poppet? . Did they EVER tell you about your test results, you were going to ring the doctor weren't you, or was that going to be next week?

PicknMix you can get EWCM 5 days before you ov. Although if you felt a twinge, it might be imminent. I say just go for it, at least there will be chance! Fingers crossed.

Sorry...talking with my mouth full of cranberry muffin. How rude of me .

Ooh guess what else...today is a good day . Finn is a champion and I am too. I got a promotion and payrise...yeeha.

p.s. GG and I are going to a boring work thing (although it will not be boring with us there ), not a big knees up that we have not invited everyone to!!

digitalgirl · 13/12/2007 13:03

hooray bucky for being such a winner! what a lovely xmas pressie from work.

Rang up a couple of days ago and nurse couldn't make head nor tail of the results, so had to book another doctors appt to find out. It's Tuesday next week, the morning of my Gynae appt. NHS is such a farce sometimes
