@Geriatric1234 I ovulated on CD9 this cycle - confirmed by temp rises. I was fuming at my crinkly ovaries too but I did some Googling and there’s a really good research paper that suggests the hormone process when you’re older just speeds up the selection of the mature follicle and not the actual ‘cooking’ of the egg. I’ve explained that really badly 😂😂 Anyway, it gave me a bit of hope. Feeling ropey overnight so did a test and think I’ve got a squinter again (only 10DPO) so let’s see if the positive research bears fruit!!

Geriatric1234 · 17/07/2021 06:52

Oooooohh congrats-in-waiting @GuessHowMuch!! And yeah, I think if you’re younger (under 40) it isn’t such a ‘concern’ (though it’s a mild one anyway!) but over 40 it’s potentially not ideal. Xx

02Carol · 17/07/2021 21:43

Evening ladies, just need to offload somewhere, it's looking like a downward spiral here, my 2 week urgent has turned into September, my MRI I did have, was carried out incorrectly, don't even get me started, and my OH got SA back and it's not good.

I'm teetotal....(personal choice)

And I have found myself with a bottle of rum, yet TTC journey! Whoooooo

selina37 · 17/07/2021 22:47

@Noodella18 I was taking B6 (probably too much at 100mg but OH got them for me and they were 100mg tablets and halving them was a pain).

Long story short, it worked well for the LP spotting (really well) but if I upped the dose or forgot to take them, I'd unexpectedly bleed for a few days! So I'm off it for now but I know the spotting will return 😕 I may just revert to good old 50mg but will see how this cycle goes first. Xxx

thislittlebird · 17/07/2021 23:15

@Marvellouslymadmum theh don’t seem to care about MMR unless you’re doing IVF🤪

We told the in laws today. Thought it was best to tell them in case they asked if we wanted kids or whatever now we’re married. Hard if it doesn’t work but at least they will know not to ask.

@02Carol well, enjoy the rum. This shit is too hard and it breaks us all. What was the issue with the SA?

thislittlebird · 17/07/2021 23:18

We’re on holiday, and visiting the in laws at the same time, really great barn conversion accommodation and lovely views. We made a good choice.

Have two months off from ttc now because of the bloody MMR, probably no more ttc for us before IVF. Weird.

@02Carol How are you feeling this morning? What happened with the MRI?!

I was hungover all day yesterday and had a Burger King for lunch (first in about a decade) and then we had dominoes for dinner. I’m an advert for how NOT to TTC (and remember, I’m almost 43!!)! Xx

Geriatric1234 · 18/07/2021 09:14

@thislittlebird Now THAT looks delightful!

Theosmommy2011 · 18/07/2021 10:11

Well it looks a bit like torture to a foodie like me but honestly, I think I'd try anything when the pain gets bad enough. Been terrible this weekend but I have been on my feet a lot. Here it is xx

Noodella18 · 18/07/2021 16:58

@marvellouslymadmum ah well I hope it sorts itself out! I was so surprised the difference it made to my cycle.

@Geriatric1234 it was 20mg b6 but had some other b vits in the complex, a very high b12 dose indeed. It was the Solgar liquid b complex in the bottle with the gold label case you wanted to try!

And I'm fine thanks for asking ladies! I'm 10+3 today, not loving pregnancy due to the morning sickness/reflux, but battling on. I had an early scan last week and all seems to be progressing OK which is a relief. Just waiting for the chromosome tests to come back and to pass that 12 week threshold.

02Carol · 18/07/2021 18:40

@Geriatric1234 they send me for the wrong type, so complete waste of time and taxpayers money and NHS resources.

I've decided to end my TTC journey, so it's a childless future for me.
I hope others have better outcomes and it's bullshit that some people get it so much harder than others.

Baby dust to you all. Thanks ladies. Over and out x

Geriatric1234 · 18/07/2021 19:18

@02Carol What a nightmare!

Cor what it’s worth I think the living “childree” rather than “childless” is as positive a future as one with a BFP. If you’re on Instagram please check out these accounts:

@childfree_guru
@tiffany.jmarie
@thefruitlessfigtree

All of them are incredibly positive, and two of those women have unexplained infertility and are embracing childfree living. The reality is positivity alone won’t provide children for some of us, so it’s good to recognise a childfree life is also full of joy!

Lots of love xxxx

KatRee · 18/07/2021 19:27

@02Carol So sorry you've had to go through all of that. Look after yourself xx

AnxiousWannabe · 19/07/2021 16:44

@02Carol
The most important thing is to stay healthy. Everything else is secondary.

I'm at the end of tww myself and just sinking into the usual depression waiting for af. Sometimes I wonder if it's all worth it as I was happy before embarking on this journey.

I often watch medical drama and see how mothers willingly give up their lives for their kid's during pregnancy to childbirth...and question if this is what I'd do if I am put in the same position.
Maybe that's why I am not a mother.

MargotChateau · 19/07/2021 18:17

@02Carol I’m so sorry to hear about your rough experience with the NHS.

I read your post today after my own rough run in with them today and have all the empathy in the world.

MargotChateau · 19/07/2021 19:10

@Geriatric1234 the accounts you mentioned look positive I’ll have to check them out. I need a plan b as a back up.

@Theosmommy2011I also have endo and that diet looks like hell, but I’ll try anything to increase my chances. Wonder how it works alongside the ‘it starts with the egg diets’

re nhs ivf. I was referred onto a clinic by my nhs fertility specialist and was told I met the criteria. I then had a phone call from another of my specialist’s colleagues today who told me I shouldn’t have been referred as the criteria changed during lockdown and now my AMH is now too low for nhs funded cycle. Apparently it was a grey area when she first saw me (now tightened up) which she neglected to tell me. I was told it was guaranteed and I’d been having ivf within two months.

Apparently now the decision is with the CCG, and my nhs specialist won’t pull my referral but it might get pulled by the CCG.
The whole thing was so unethical, my specialist told me to stop researching plan b’s , do this cycle then look at private Etc.
I suffer from anxiety so being told things are guaranteed then told they aren’t was extremely distressing. The way I was told was also awful. Bleck rant over

Marvellouslymadmum · 19/07/2021 19:57

@02Carol so sorry to hear that, I hope you're ok, take care of yourself.

@thislittlebird oh I see! That's ok then, prob won't effect me. Sometimes I think it's easier to say something. That looks lovely where you are, will you still try naturally while waiting for ivf?

@Theosmommy2011 that diet does not look like fun! And for me being a veggie means I would basically just be eating fruit and veg 😂

@Noodella18 glad everything is going ok for you, I've literally just stopped taking all supps at the moment, I trapped a nerve in my back Friday so been non-loco all weekend and on some very strong pain relief so this month is probably another no go anyway

@MargotChateau that sounds awful! I don't know how they get away with some of the things that go on! I had to go to a&e Saturday as I trapped a nerve in my back and they didn't even look at it! Just gave me a load of painkillers and sent me away 🤦🏼‍♀️

Misty84 · 19/07/2021 21:31

So sorry @02Carol. Look after yourself and find happiness again 🌸

AnxiousWannabe · 21/07/2021 09:07

Dpo16 and bfn ...oh well. I'm getting used to this

Misty84 · 21/07/2021 11:36

Sorry to hear that @AnxiousWannabe, remind me how long you’ve been trying for? It does get wearying…

Tip for anyone doing IVF, my clinic meds cost over £1800, I’ve just got a quote from Asda pharmacy for £1600. Small saving in the grand scheme of things, but every little counts! Thanks @thislittlebird for that x

AnxiousWannabe · 21/07/2021 12:19

Seven months lol. I'm depressed but ok depressed..

thislittlebird · 21/07/2021 12:21

@Misty84 that’s great, every little helps definitely helps! I’ll be looking into doing the same.

We’re still in Cornwall and my husband got the job 😐😐😐 . So this Londoner will be moving to the depths of the south west in the next year which is terrifying to me and it’s ivf at least in part on my own and living away from the husband for some time. I can’t leave my job right before ivf, I need to stay put for the mat leave if ivf works. It’s going to be a very stressful few months to say the least.

Good that he can get a job he does down here, which is rare and without a pay cut, and we’d planned to move here eventually but it’s all very sudden now it’s happening and it’s real. Moving to the area we would like to live is going to be tough because there’s so few houses on the market in our price range, certainly not what we’d want, and we don’t want to increase our mortgage which is currently pretty reasonable. Ugh....it’s all going to get very complicated but it is what it is. He has told the job he’s having fertility treatment and will need time off.

@Marvellouslymadmum we can’t try naturally because of the MMR. Not allowed with rubella in the system 😑. So it’s not great but I guess we can have a rest before ivf starts, try to lose a few pounds along the way.

thislittlebird · 21/07/2021 12:22

Oh, and yesterday I got a text from Guys ACU about my referral, so at least it’s in the system now.

ElsieG3m · 21/07/2021 15:56

Hi ladies,
Been a little quiet on here lately as the whole 'process' was getting a little overwhelming. We've had all of our tests now (I think!! 😅). I had a hycosy which indicated some adhesions around my left ovary but the consultant thought that both tubes were patent (my bowel was in the way but the dye was pooling at the end so overall seemed ok). All my blood results have been good. Husbands dna frag was normal but he has low morphology. We were advised to try naturally for another month or so (that was last month) before moving to ivf. So it's all feeling a bit real and overwhelming but guess we'll just have to see how things go.

I'm sorry for everyone who has been having a tough time on here and hope that you are all finding happiness and keeping well otherwise!

X

AnxiousWannabe · 21/07/2021 15:56

Cd1 for me.
@Misty84 can I ask - is fertility clinic usually a mess ? I'm just going through clueness admin folks and it's frustrating
