TTC first baby (dc1) after MC

Hello, I know there are similar threads for TTC after miscarriage/loss, but I thought it would be good to have a thread for those trying for their first baby. Personally, I know a few friends who've sadly had MC but they were all pregnancy number 2 having already had a healthy baby on first pregnancy. All 3 are now pregnant again which gives me hope but I can't help but be stressed/worry if I will ever have a healthy pregnancy and be able to carry a baby to full term. So I feel like I'm in a slightly different position to those TTC after loss who already have babies. I hope that isn't insensitive. Hopefully there are others TTC their first and we can support eachother.

My story is 27yo, came off pill sept 2020. Pregnant January 2021, had a scan at 7 weeks, dated 7+1 and saw a HB. Had a scan at 9+4 and baby hadn't grown and no HB so MMC. Had surgical management so ERPC on 5th March. I have just finished bleeding earlier this week snd trying straight away before first period. 🤞🏻

Sorry for your loss OP. I had a mmc on my first pregnancy in 2019 and had an ERPC also. It was completely awful! I fell pregnant again 8 months later and am now looking at my 6 month old rainbow baby girl having a cuddle with her great Nan (our bubble). Good luck!

justwant2beamum · 20/03/2021 16:34

Hey @Chanel05 aw thank you so much for sharing I'm so glad to hear a positive story that you got your rainbow baby. I hope and pray every day that will be me soon 🤞🏻

Hi, I’ll join!

First pregnancy in November 2020, found out on 30th dec that baby has no heartbeat and measured 6wks (we saw hb at 6wks so must have stopped soon after). Had Erpc on 11th jan 2021 and have been ttc ever since! xx

justwant2beamum · 20/03/2021 18:36

Hey @Mellous sounds like very similar stories I am just a bit behind you. We also had an early scan at 7 weeks and saw a HB so stupidly thought everything was ok and told close family and friends (parents and about 3 friends each) then at the next scan I still measured 7+1-2. So cruel baby's heart basically stopped the day we saw it 😩. I've been Googling like mad and still don't understand how you can see a healthy HB then it just stop 😩

Hi @justwant2beamum I’m sorry for your loss! Sending my love to you.
I’ve been off the pill since March 20 and really actively trying since about July 20 (tracking ovulation avidly etc).
Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage in February - I was only about 5 weeks.
I haven’t had my first period since my miscarriage yet. And I’m still very emotional and sad.
I’m 27 too and my husband is 29, every time I log onto social media or walk into work, someone else is pregnant - it’s breaking my heart.
I hope we both get some good news soon.
Try to be strong and positive, but I know it’s so difficult xx

TTC94 · 20/03/2021 18:57

My miscarriage was February 21* @justwant2beamum so I was trying for about 11 months before I got a positive pregnancy test x

ploopypleepy · 20/03/2021 19:48

Hey guys! Sorry to hear about your losses, such an awful thing to have to go through. I'd love to join, I had a partially molar pregnancy and was given the all clear in February. This is my 2nd cycle TTC x

justwant2beamum · 20/03/2021 23:32

Hey @TTC94 aww I know exactly how you feel, celebs, influencers, friends, family. It's pregnancy announcements or babies or pregnancy posts atm. I deleted my facebook and Instagram and haven't looked back x

Welcome @ploopypleepy

Hi ladies can I join? 🤗
Im 25yo, I had a mmc (8+5) detected on New Year’s Eve 😞 Had MVA on 21st January. This would have been DC1 for me too. I know exactly how you feel about worrying if I’ll ever have a healthy baby. Before conceiving my periods were every 8 weeks or so for about a year so I already didn’t think it was possible as I had no idea what my body was doing. I was doing blood tests for the GP when I found out I was 3 weeks pg. Now I’m wondering when/if it will ever happen😞 it’s so hard when it’s DC1 to feel any hope at all.
And I agree with PP everyoneeeee seems to be pregnant right now which makes it even harder. Xx

justwant2beamum · 21/03/2021 10:06

Welcome @Notabs so sorry for your loss. Yep exactly how I feel. I know MC must be awful for everyone in their individual ways but definitely the not knowing if you can have/carry a successful pregnancy is the most torture for me. I'm driving myself mad. Then a lot of threads are people with recurrent mcs and that just sends me into a meltdown wondering if that will be me. 😩

OP posts:
Notabs · 21/03/2021 10:15

Yep I am the same! I am convinced that it’s going to be me going through this a million times 😭 however the research shows that even people who have been through mc, for example, 10 times it’s still extremely rare for them to never have a baby so I’m clinging on to that hope that it will happen one day! 🌈 Are you going to track your ovulation or just dtd now you’ve stopped bleeding?

ploopypleepy · 21/03/2021 10:23

What cycle day is everyone on? According to Flo i ovulate tomorrow, is anyone going to be with me through the 2WW? X

Notabs · 21/03/2021 10:39

I’m currently in the 2ww @ploopypleepy 🙏 xx

TTC94 · 21/03/2021 12:29

I’m also in the two week wait, but my period is due today or tomorrow!

I’m not feeling positive though! Quite the opposite.

It will be my first period since my miscarriage though so I guess having one will be a sign of reassurance that my body is back to normal.

I have no symptoms of pregnancy and do feel like twinges of my period are coming...

Hope you all find your two week waits go fast and fingers crossed for you all!

@ploopypleepy @Notabs xx

justwant2beamum · 21/03/2021 13:54

I'm CD17 if you count ERPC day as CD1 - no idea when I'll ovulate or be due AF this month as I've not had a period yet post MC (except the MC bleeding). Nearly at a negative today though this was my test with FMU so I think HCG nearly out my system so hopefully I might ovulate?

@justwant2beamum CD1 is the day of your erpc Thanks.

When I had my erpc I eventually got a negative test on cd21 and ovulated on cd31. I caused myself so much stress that month so please be kind to yourself.

justwant2beamum · 21/03/2021 17:27

Thank you @Chanel05 looks like I'm hopefully heading in a similar direction - think I'll do another IC midweek and hopefully will be fully negative then will maybe do some opks so I know if I ovulate. Good luck to all those in TWW - keep us updated if you're testing hopefully we'll get some positive stories of hope of our own in this thread. 🤞🏻 baby dust to all ✨

justwant2beamum · 23/03/2021 08:38

@TTC94 did you test or did you get AF? X

OP posts:
TTC94 · 23/03/2021 08:56

@justwant2beamum Af arrived overnight...

Depressing but not surprising!

Are you still waiting for yours? X

justwant2beamum · 24/03/2021 17:55

Aw @TTC94 sorry to hear that :(

I've no clue when to expect AF - I only stopped bleeding last wed. If I get AF my usual 28 days after ERPC then it's due 3rd April. But as yet opks are blank so don't know if I've ovulated/if I even will or when AF is due. Depressing. I really wanted to at least get some positive opks so I'd have a last shot at a 2021 baby

OP posts:
Notabs · 25/03/2021 09:46

@justwant2beamum I didn’t get any positive OPKs before my AF but I got two in a row like 3 days after my first AF, it can come at any time after MC things are all over the place 🙏 @TTC94 sorry to hear that Flowers , I haven’t had mine yet but I have had “pink stuff” today so will see what happens xx

danielleb97 · 25/03/2021 10:38

Hi, is it okay if I jump on this thread? 🌈

I'm so sorry for all of your losses. ❤️💐

Found out I was pregnant 28th December 2020 & went for an early scan at around 6.5 weeks where there was no sign of pregnancy. Went to my EPU and got diagnosed with a PUL. Was in and out of hospital for around 3 weeks with a suspected ectopic (HCG continued to rise despite nothing showing on scans) and eventually had an ERPC at the end of Jan, at which point my HCG started to go down.

This has been our first month back TTC because I got my first AF after the loss on 26th Feb, she should actually be due today but no sign of her yet!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 25/03/2021 11:31

Had a loss at 7 weeks in October. I'm about 1dpo this cycle. Periods didn't come back properly - four days shorter than pre-miscarriage and a late ovulation since. No luck getting pregnant again so far.

I tool soy isoflavones this cycle, and my ovulation came extremely early for me! CD12, about ten days early. So hoping its worked this month, although it caught me unawares and I didn't have enough sex before 🙈

Good luck to us all x

lucerito · 25/03/2021 11:44

Hello all!

I'm so sad and comforted at the same time to read your stories. The heartbreak of loosing a baby in the womb is something only those who gave it can understand.

I have been suffering with chronic pain for the past 7 years, and was on meds for it for 5 + years. Stoped last year with great difficulty, and also stopped taking the pill.

Got pregnant suffer quick, and thought everything was ok.

Went for my first scan at week 10 and was told the babies were messaging 7 weeks and that there was not heart beat 🤯😭😭
Had a D&C in late July last year.
Was afraid of getting pregnant again, the pain of the loss it's too much!

Praying and believing that this time will be different.
Same for you all!

justwant2beamum · 25/03/2021 11:51

Welcome @danielleb97 @lucerito and @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 so sorry for your losses. It's horrible isn't it. I feel like I'll never experience a happy/blissful pregnancy and so many people get multiple of them and just breeze by.

That sounds promising @danielleb97 are you going to do a test? X
