Thought I would start a thread for people trying to conceive their 2nd child. Hope some of you lovely ladies want to join in to keep each other sane!

So as I said I’m TTC #2. This is my first cycle. I’ve been tracking my period on the Flo app since my DS was born so have a good idea of my ovulation window. According to the app I’m due to ovulate tomorrow but I got a stronger result on a clear blue ovulation test yesterday than what I did today. DTD yesterday and hopefully again today if we find the time.

My first pregnancy was kind of unexpected i fell pregnant very quickly - around 2 months - after coming off the pill. I have not been on the pill for over a year and have been using condoms instead so it will be interesting to see how long it will take this time.

@tuxedocat I wasn't told if there was any future risks. At the time there was no placenta issues and There was no lifestyle or health issues on my side etc so i think it was classed as unexplained. Induction was great either as his heart rate dropped so low during induction. I would hope as it was unexplained that I would get regular growth scans but need to see what happens.
It hasn't stopped my DC, they went from 2nd centile height and weight to 98% at 2 years old

I had never heard of ICP before and had to look it up. That's quite a high percentage chance of it returning. Do they have to monitor it throughout your future pregnancies?

@Kimblebee19 fingers crossed the next few days have nothing and it’s a positive month! It must be tough waiting for an appointment and I think sometimes you have to just go for it and hope for the best. Lockdown has really been a bummer for delaying things hasn’t it! I’ve got my fingers crossed for you xx

@moonpie32 that’s great there is no long term implication. And wow, great going for your DC!

Luckily when I was induced I was already in early Labour so they popped my waters and that was all. Was a relief as my levels came back high and they mentioned the word ‘stillbirth’ so I was so anxious. I believe in another pregnancy they take regular bloods and monitor closely. So likely I will be consultant led, I had to take some antibiotics for a tooth infection a few months ago and it made my liver play up with itching so I would think it’s probably likely I’ll get it again 😞 but hopefully it’ll be more manageable this time around! It feels weird possibly going into another pregnancy and knowing so much about what can happen!

How is everyone else holding up today?

@tuxedocat that must have been scary but at least next pregnancy you'll have the correct care throughout and it can managed.

I have romanticised the idea of finding out on Mothers Day if I am pregnant, so I do want to hold out for Sunday to test....BUT I'm still feeling so nauseous and no sign of spotting....and so I've saved some of the morning's pee for when DH gets up 🙈
To dig out the expired cheapie tests or tip it away and stick to my guns...?

I have not tested again, I got myself in a bit of a state the other night, I think I’m just fed up if this lockdown and was obsessing over testing so decided to leave it for a couple of days. All the symptoms that I’ve been experiencing have past apart from feeling tired so I’ve now convinced I’m out for this month. AF is not due for another 6 days however going from OPKs I think I ovulate slightly earlier than normal. We will see what happens.

I also had a pretty straight forward pregnancy with DS, I was induced at 40+3 after developing PUPPPS at around 37-38 weeks. DS was also back to back but turned right before delivery. His heart rate dropped when they broke my waters so oxygen and fluids for 30 minutes then the drip was put in and it was all straight forward from there on in!

@Kimblebee19 that is sounding positive, it would be lovely to wait until Mother’s Day if you can fight the urge!

@Babytale1 hope you’re feeling better and you are still in til AF is here. We become so hyper aware of our bodies it’s hard not to obsess! It’s so difficult not knowing. On the home stretch now though 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Kimblebee19 eeeek! Let us know how you get on. I understand the curiosity, plus if it’s expired will you really believe it either way?! Equally Sunday seems so far away.

My AF is due next Friday, so Ovia tells me 6 days to test. I’m half wanting to wait until next week and see how it goes, half wanting to get a test this weekend and see what happens. I know if I get a test this weekend then I won’t really believe it until after my period doesn’t turn up.

The 2ww is horrendous 😂 we are damned if we do, damned if we don’t!

Hi, hope i'm okay to jump on this thread!

We are TTC 2 too, we fell pregnant with our son in my first cycle off the pill but we are on cycle 4 this time and nothing yet! We haven't always been DTD at the right time of the month either I don't think. I know we haven't been trying that long but i had naively assumed it would be as quick a second time round. We must just have been really lucky!

Im going to test Mother's Day which will be about 2 days before AF is due, fingers crossed!

Still, not sure what my cycle is up to this month so very possibly too early. Will order some FRERs and test again along with @JJ94 on Sunday if still no sign of AF!

Have you had any symptoms @JJ94? And how old is DS? Fingers crossed for you!

@Babytale1 sorry to hear you've not been feeling great. Its really easy to feel overwhelmed at the moment, with no outlets or much else going on. Silver linings is negative tests = being able to enjoy social gatherings to the fullest when we can again. Lots to look foward too as well as babies...home stretch now.

5dpo and boy is it dragging already!
I had the worst fatigue yesterday, I could barely hold myself up, also felt very nauseous all day. Had creamy cm too yesterday, is that normal after ovulation?! I thought it was just before.
Today, I feel fine, it's as if yesterday never happened! (I do have an under active thyroid so it could have been something to do with the fatigue)

@Kimblebee19 our DS is 18 months old, we wanted quite a small age gap but each month the gap is getting bigger 🙈
I caved this morning and tested with a cheapie test, big fat negative 🙄 although i always keep it in my head that we're not out until AF shows up!
I've had cramps the past couple of days, feeling a bit sick/dizzy. But its so frustrating how similar pregnancy symptoms are to impending AF symptoms! Have you had any symptoms?

I caved and got a FRER today and BFN. I’m not due till next Friday 19th so I knew it was a long shot.
I’ve had the weirdest dreams and my boobs are fuller. My nipples look bigger and the little spots (montomgery tubercules?!) are much more prominent. I think I had this last pregnancy but I can’t remember!

Tomorrow would be 6 days til my period so not sure if to test or just wait.

Afternoon ladies, I got my BFP a couple of hours ago!!

Can’t quite believe it, especially on the first cycle and it being a last min decision to try this month. I’m cautiously optimistic. AF was due on the 18th, making it 5 days early for testing. However I think I ovulated on the 1st rather than the 3rd of the month, which is what happened with DS. I suppose it must just be my cycle.

6dpo today and no symptoms other than feeling really tired but that's probably just normal for me. Xx

I'm nearing ovulation I think- although day 6 of "high" peak 🙄 my cycles do vary so started a little early as it said to start on shortest cycle- just wishing this cycle was a short one!!

I've been ill the last couple of days with a head cold and total exhaustion. I had that last time around 6/7DPO but I'm not looking into it too much. I just don't have a great feeling this month even though it's only cycle 1. I think we were just too late to the party!

@Babytale1 Congratulations!!! Now you can blame that meltdown on hormones
It was a (very ) last minute decision for us to start trying as well...hoping that luck rubs off on me for tomorrow.

@tuxedocat I wouldnt read into that negative so early, wait a couple of days if you can and test again. Keep us posted 🤞

@JJ94 definitely not out until the fat lady's singing, are you still testing tomorrow with a FRER? I've got mine ready to go tomorrow.

Symptom wise i'm still nauseous but less so than I have been...and my chest is aching but not where i'd expect so I probably just went a bit mad swinging the boy around yesterday haha. Have had milk filling up feelings for over a week though, had no boob pain/size change in last preg. A few crampy feelings here and there and TMI but feeling like ive come on down there but go to the loo and nothing - had that last time i was positive (had a LOT more cramping though, spent several days convinced AF would arrive any moment). Oh and i'm the furthest into my cycle with no spotting since mid Nov, longer if it stays away tonight! 🤷‍♀️

Oh that sounds promising @Kimblebee19 those have been my symptoms since getting my bfp on Wednesday so hopefully yours will come too. When are you testing?

Oooh really? I'm testing tomorrow. Yesterday's test was negative, but i'm trying not to read too much into that because it was a cheapie, expired, kept in a hot airing cupboard test. Might just be fooling myself...i'm convinced our bodies like playing games as soon as they know we're trying.

@Kimblebee19 i have got a clearblue digital one which says it can be used from 6 days before a missed AF, i will do a cheapie test first though!
I've definitely built it up in my head but how lovely would it be for us to get BFPs tomorrow 💕
I have been having the same feeling of AF arriving too!! I have been dreading going to loo for the last couple of days but everytime I do there's no blood there which is a relief!

@tuxedocat i agree not to read too much into the negative with it being a little early to test, the pregnancy hormones may not be high enough yet to be detected on a test.

OMG congratulations!! 😍 happy mothers day!!

I did a cheapie test and it came back negative, so i dont want to waste a clearblue test 🙄 i still never believe the negative until AF arrives though 😂
