Hey 😋

Thought I would start a thread for people trying to conceive their 2nd child. Hope some of you lovely ladies want to join in to keep each other sane!

So as I said I’m TTC #2. This is my first cycle. I’ve been tracking my period on the Flo app since my DS was born so have a good idea of my ovulation window. According to the app I’m due to ovulate tomorrow but I got a stronger result on a clear blue ovulation test yesterday than what I did today. DTD yesterday and hopefully again today if we find the time.

My first pregnancy was kind of unexpected i fell pregnant very quickly - around 2 months - after coming off the pill. I have not been on the pill for over a year and have been using condoms instead so it will be interesting to see how long it will take this time.

@moonpie32 7dpo now! The gas is reaaaaaal today! I’ve non stopped burping it’s ridiculous 😂 everything and anything I eat makes me burp.

@moonpie32 @tuxedocat hopefully the gas is a symptom that this is your month!

I couldn't get any frer tests, everywhere was sold out of that particular one. Managed to get a boots own brand test that states you can test up to 5 days early... couldn't resist... did the test and got another BFN.
I honestly dont know why i do it to myself.

@JJ94 oh no, I’m sorry. It’s still three days before AF so still time though. Those HCG levels are probably still doubling away 🤞🏻

@tuxedocat I'm alright. I don't have a great feeling now. I'm worried we missed our window for some reason with not doing OPKs. Symptom wise I had pink tinge when I wiped 5/6dpo and the same today which is either 8 or 9dpo.
Vivid dreams, gas and bloating, total exhaustion. If AF does arrive I've had a proper shitty month 😂😂

@JJ94 you may have ovulated/implanted slightly later though so there is still a chance.

@moonpie32 I’m feeling good actually. I feel quite chilled about it all for some weird reason, I’m not sure why! Cautiously hopeful. I’ve been trying to keep as busy as poss and not read too much into everything unlike last time I was Googling frantically all day every day. I’m trying to be realistic that implantation is from 6dpo at the earliest so I shouldn’t reaaaaally be feeling much. It’s hard to stay levelheaded but I feel like reading into too much will just make me more sad if it’s negative!

@tuxedocat yeah that's exactly how I want to feel. I want to avoid symptom spotting but it's so hard not to think about it.
Google is an enemy when it comes to TTC (or any symptom spotting really) as marylou1990 had every symptom you have and had her BFP at 7dpo 😂

I'm dreading testing tomorrow morning, after getting a BFN yesterday i just feel like i'm out. I will test first thing and see what happens though. It would be the best birthday present DH could get.

@JJ94 don't be disheartened by yesterday's BFN. AF isn't here so there is still a chance!

I'm only 9dpo and AF is due on Thursday so will see what happens then.

@moonpie32 if i had some cheap tests in the house I would deffo be testing again right now! Thank you for your reply, i am trying not to be negative about it but it's hard! We managed to conceive in my first cycle after coming off the pill with DS son so I naively assumed we wouldn't have any trouble when it came to trying for our 2nd. Xx

Good luck for Thursday or are you going to test early?

Also, could i ask how long everyone has been TTC so far? It would be interesting to know how we are all doing a 2nd time round xx

This is our second cycle. Last cycle was my first off the pill so I didn’t think it was likely given I would have no idea my cycle is, we managed to conceive on cycle #2 last time with my son. In hindsight we wish we had started sooner but I guess that’s hindsight, theres never a right time is there?!

@moonpie32 good luck for Thursday! I had a thought to POA OPK but thought better of it 😂

Thank you - I've had sore boobs the last couple of days but that's also an AF sign so goodness knows. I'm defo not testing till Thursday if no AF at the earliest.

We are only really on our 1st cycle as we decided halfway through last month. We took 8 months to conceive DC1 so I know to be patient. Plus I'm 3 years older now 😂😂

@tuxedocat when are you due AF again? I get so caught up in my own I have no clue 🙈

@moonpie32 Saturday I think! I’ve got quite a busy week so hopefully it’ll fly by. I’ll still be bricking it to test 😂

I got a BFN this morning, plus AF was right on time this evening. I was honestly really upset but I'm trying to stay positive for our next cycle.
This will be my 5th month off the pill, with our son we conceived 2 weeks after coming off the pill. I just honestly didn't think we would have any trouble conceiving straight away again 🙁

Every month i'm thinking what could we have done differently 🙄

I’m sorry @JJ94 💕 I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to stress. What did you do last month, could you take time off the OPK’s to just have less stress?

Hi all, anyone still around here? Sorry for the BFN, @JJ94 (and if anyone else had one I missed). Anyone had good news? I'm reaching the end of this cycle but really really confused and quite worried about ovulation and what is going on with my body. Used OPKs from cycle 2 first time around, and noticed I was usually ovulating around day 20 of my cycle. Got pregnant cycle 3, but reckon we missed out on FW cycle 1 due to assuming I ovulated earlier than I did, and on cycle 2 I was incredibly ill, with a dangerous fever, so cycle 3 was probably our first good chance last time and it went well for us. We are now on cycle 4 this time, and I am so confused about what I'm seeing on OPKs. Cycle 1 I started testing late as they didn't arrive till late, so I was fairly sure I'd missed the peak with the tests but we had covered around day 20 anyway. I was surprised to find I got a peak reading just two days before I was expecting my period. Because of that weird reading, I then tested past the peak the next months. The second month and this month, I have had another peak really close to the end of my cycle (the third month I didn't test all the days, as was out of OPKs). So I have been getting peak readings this cycle again this week, over a week after the other peak. I'm so confused and concerned! Any insight is welcome! Thanks!

I have only ever got a positive OPK once, I always test in my fertile window according to apps but still only ever had one positive.
What you've just said makes me think i should test at other times during my cycle too?

@JJ94 I wouldn't recommend it actually, because it cost me a lot of peace of mind over the last few months as I stressed whether my body was ovulating properly etc. Anyway, mystery solved: I just got a BFP this morning! I did some research and found out that some ovulation kits testing for the peak will show a peak when you are pregnant, as it's the same TYPE of hormone, though not the same hormone itself. Well, I had peaks solidly for the last week (I have enough monitors to test daily at this stage), and then I used a pregnancy test this morning. ClearBlue Advanced Digital and it said Pregnant 2-3 weeks. That's such wonderful and lovely news and I am so thrilled! Of course, it does mean that the last few months this happened, the likelihood is that I experienced chemical pregnancies, which I will have to think about and process. For now, feeling happy and wishing you and anyone else lurking here the same joy soon x

Hey @JJ94 I'm alright. AF arrived this yesterday so another cycle down. Onto #4. Bought OPKs and a BBT thermometer today to properly start.
