Hey 😋

Thought I would start a thread for people trying to conceive their 2nd child. Hope some of you lovely ladies want to join in to keep each other sane!

So as I said I’m TTC #2. This is my first cycle. I’ve been tracking my period on the Flo app since my DS was born so have a good idea of my ovulation window. According to the app I’m due to ovulate tomorrow but I got a stronger result on a clear blue ovulation test yesterday than what I did today. DTD yesterday and hopefully again today if we find the time.

My first pregnancy was kind of unexpected i fell pregnant very quickly - around 2 months - after coming off the pill. I have not been on the pill for over a year and have been using condoms instead so it will be interesting to see how long it will take this time.

Please feel free to share your journey so far xx

@JJ94 100%. Imagine! Thing is I spent half the time drinking cocktails so I could have had symptoms and not realised Grin

JJ94 · 16/03/2021 17:45

@moonpie32 quite possibly! Dizzy, nauseous, tired all about the same! 😂

Babytale1 · 16/03/2021 18:11

@moonpie32 how are you feeling now?

@Kimblebee19 I’m ok so far, just bloated and sore boobs! How are you? In my area you just phone a booking line, GP won’t see you. I have my first appt on the 26th April via video call and scan on 14th May.

@tuxedocat hope you get your BFP 🤞🏻

@JJ94 exactly my thoughts...maybe cocktails are the key 😅

@Babytale1 that is so exciting. Doesn't seem that long away does it?
I'm ok now. Still a little blocked and my joints and back are aching cos when I've been sleeping, I've barely moved at night. Nurseries have a lot to answer for with the colds 🤣

JJ94 · 17/03/2021 08:09

I caved! (I knew i would) 🙈
Tested last night, still BFN 🙄 still no AF, now 3 days late.
I just wish i knew either way! I'm still feeling sick, dizzy, crampy and getting vivid dreams, along with lack of AF i just dont believe the tests.
But if I was in fact pregnant then surely by 3 days late i would be getting a BFP by now?! With my son i tested 1 day before my AF was due and it came back positive.
I dont know what to think. I know i am just best waiting to see if AF shows but the wait is so frustrating!

I can't remember if you had said you'd been using OPKs but you might have ovulated late? You aren't out till AF shows. What tests are you using? I also caved this morning and took a test (pressure from hubby!) and got a very very clear BFN. But AF isn't due till Sunday and it was just Asda cheapies (although still on side of no anyway!)
May2311 · 17/03/2021 08:51

@JJ94 did you use OPK? I actually didn't get my BFP with DD until I was quite late so I agree your not out until AF arrives! It's so hard when this happens as you just want to know either way( preferably with a BFP!) What type of test did you use? Also if still no AF in a couple of days perhaps try with FMU! Hopefully in a couple of more days you will have answers. Xx

@moonpie32 sorry about BFN although as it was only with an asda cheapie and early I would class you as out! Again fingers crossed for that BFP soon!!

I'm only 1DPO and it's dragging 🤣🙈

Xxx

May2311 · 17/03/2021 08:51

@moonpie32 that was supposed to say WOULDNT class you as out yet!! Xx

JJ94 · 17/03/2021 09:03

@May2311
I have only used OPK's a couple of times and couldn't pinpoint when i had actually ovulated. So i'm going by a fertility friend, glow and flo apps to determine when my expected period should be.
I have just been using cheap tests i got from ebay, ones with pink handles and a screen rather than paper. I did use a clearblue digital on Sunday though which also came back negative. 🙄
I will wait a couple more days (or until tomorrow at least 😂) and with fmu. I had all intentions of waiting until the weekend but i just get frustrated and get the urge sometimes 🙈

moonpie32 · 17/03/2021 09:07

@May2311 ha I knew what you meant don't worry! Grin Thanks. That's my thoughts. I'm holding off till I'm late and probably getting a better test tbh! I have no idea if I'm 10DPO or 8DPO as the 2 apps I use (why I don't know 😂) have different DPOs.
This month I'm going with the flow anyways!

Fingers crossed the TWW flies in for you!

JJ94 · 17/03/2021 09:07

@May2311 hopefully the TWW will go quickly for you! It can drag can't it 🙄 I totally get why so many of us test so early!

May2311 · 17/03/2021 09:08

@JJ94 don't we all 🤣 TTC journey is all about peeing on sticks constantly!! 🤣🤣 keep us all up to date! Perhaps get a FRER I feel they are the most accurate/sensitive! X

JJ94 · 17/03/2021 09:08

@moonpie32 @May2311
got my fingers crossed for you both Smile

JJ94 · 17/03/2021 09:14

I might pop into town and get a couple of FRER tests today! And then do my best to save it until tomorrow morning earliest 😂

I just wondered how old your little ones all are? Mine is 18months old, and we really wanted a small age gap but it's getting bigger each month 🙈

May2311 · 17/03/2021 09:30

Hahaha if you have the urge pee on a cheap ovulation stick instead and save the FRER! 😂

My DD Is 10.5months. We also want a small gap. Hopefully so they entertain/play well together!! My hubby & brother have a 8 year gap and he hates it so he has always wanted them close together. X

JJ94 · 17/03/2021 10:04

Haha i've not quite reached that point (yet 😂)

My husband is the same with his brother there is about 7 years i think, but me and my brother there's 21 months and we grew up really close!

I wish we started trying again sooner! X

moonpie32 · 17/03/2021 10:28

Thanks @JJ94 same with you!

My little one was 2 in December. I'd always said I'd want a 3 year gap.

tuxedocat · 17/03/2021 10:35

My son is 3.5 so will be 4 by the time we have a second. A bigger gap than I wanted but the last year has been hell and I have a hectic job with little mat leave so we thought sod it. I ordered some FRER on Amazon (2 for £6!) so will test when they arrive likely tomorrow or Friday when I’m due on.

Feeling a bit period crampy today (but not as dull if you know what I mean?!) and also dead aggy this morning but I know that can be quite normal (the cramps more so😂) so am keeping my 🤞🏻

coconutlatte44 · 17/03/2021 10:52

Hey everyone, posted this on the other March bus but think I might be better off in this thread bc I think I feel quite differently this time around than I did when we were trying for our first!

We have just (casually?) started trying for DC2. My son is nearly 14 months. Has taken me until about a year to feel up to even thinking about another. My son is an atrocious sleeper and up until 6 months was up every 90 minutes or so. Now at 14 months he wakes up 2-3 times a night, which is manageable, but I haven't slept more than 4 hours in a row since I was pregnant, and often it's much less than that. I obviously adore my son but found the sleep deprivation robbed me of a lot of the joy I expected to feel in his first year.

Anyway, now feeling decent enough to try for number two, and now that we're trying I feel more obsessed with it than I thought I would, given that I am pretty nervous about potentially adding another non-sleeper to the mix. I'm on CD19 and we dtd every other day from day 10 (10,12,14). On Day 14 it was in the bath though and now I'm worried that may have impacted our chances, lol - was just trying to keep things a bit more spontaneous but now feel silly about it! My husband started feeling ill the day after (too much sex? 😅) so we stopped there although I think O day may have been day 15 or 16.

I seem to get pregnant quickly but we had a mc before my son was born so I'm very aware that even if we do get pregnant soon, nothing is certain.

Fingers crossed for everyone here!

tuxedocat · 17/03/2021 11:14

@coconutlatte44 hiya! Welcome 🥰

I think it’s hard to play it cool when TTC #2 because you’re so much more aware of everything!

Don’t feel silly for keeping it fun! It’s the most important bit and being chill and fun about it is way more fun than being strict and regimented.
I am also nervous about adding no2 - as much as I want him to have a sibling it feels v scary to be going back to the baby days and the no sleep etc. I try to remind myself that these are the days we will miss the most when we are old and grey! Plus I think newborn days second time round will be easier as I know what to expect

JJ94 · 17/03/2021 12:03

Hi @coconutlatte44!

Definitely don't feel silly! It helps to mix things up a bit I think, it stops it feeling a bit robotic when TTC Smile

Xx

coconutlatte44 · 17/03/2021 12:50

Thanks for the welcome @tuxedocat and @JJ94. I wasn’t even sure I was going to come find a thread this time around but now that it’s happening I feel the urge to talk to other people who are in the same stage!

Re the bathtub I’m more feeling silly that it might somehow have decreased the chances of it being successful 😅 I know you can get pregnant in water but just can’t help but feel there’s a chance the water could somehow interfere 😂😂😂

May2311 · 17/03/2021 13:18

@coconutlatte44 welcome!! Agree that you are doing the right thing keeping things exciting/light- takes the pressure off! I don't think you need to be worried about it decreasing chances you DTD regularly enough over your fertile window I would say even without the bath time!

@tuxedocat oooo good deal on amazon I'm going to have a look now! Thanks for the tip. If your due AF Friday hopefully you will have a nice line if even if you test tomorrow- let us know!!

Xxx

tuxedocat · 17/03/2021 13:52

Agree with @May2311 @coconutlatte44 I think that sperm reach the cervix very quickly so I don’t think the water would interfere too much. They live in the body for days so 🤞🏻 They’re hanging around!

It feels nice to have a little corner to vent and talk about the weird things you notice!

I am at the mercy of Amazon delivering so will test when they arrive 🤣 somewhat annoyed I didn’t select prime but also kinda glad because it gives me a reason not to test!

moonpie32 · 17/03/2021 14:26

@coconutlatte44 welcome and I love your username that March bus has too many conversations going on for me 🙈
No need to feel silly! This is a great wee thread to chat on. Everyone is nice and supportive!

@tuxedocat that's a great deal but with this mornings BFN I can't really convince hubby to get them as he has the prime account Grin
