@claireb7rg it really has gone quick!
20wk scan on Tuesday and had a detailed one at 16 and 17 weeks so not too terrified for once!
I've been very very poorly throughout but will be all worth it in January xx
Just ready to finish work and University in December and enjoy Christmas and then some time off with my little boy before his sister arrives xx

porger80 · 20/09/2020 12:49

@MaryShelley1818 congrats on your pregnancy, would you mind if I asked you a question? In those 18mo waiting to conceive your second, would you have/did you consider IVF or did you just accept that it would either happen or not happen?

Namechanger0800 · 20/09/2020 13:28

Thanks @Chatbash72 - I def think progesterone May be an issue. I've had a look and think I need to up my spinach, broccoli and nuts etc
Interestingly this month has been the worst for the spotting and I had been eating along of rubbish in the weeks beforehand ! Did u have any particular success with veg/ fruits?

Have a GP on Monday so will have a chat and see what she says

No of course I don't mind. We would never have considered IVF, just too much pressure for me. We already had our gorgeous little boy though so felt very lucky to have him and he would have been enough for us.
We said from day one we'd just see what happened. We did go for fertility tests at the hospital though, just to rule out any easy fixes but everything was perfect. We had just decided to withdraw from the consultant during lockdown and had drawn a line under it when I got pregnant in May. A complete shock as only had sex once that month due to being poorly. And it was a good 5-6 days before ovulation.

MaryShelley1818 · 23/09/2020 08:14

Quick update from me.....had 20wk scan yesterday and everything looks perfect. Went into local lockdown restrictions last week so unfortunately DH couldn't come with me but got some nice pictures and confirmed she's definitely a little girl 😍💗💗💗

Springroll89 · 23/09/2020 08:31

Catconfusion · 23/09/2020 14:04

Amazing news @MaryShelley1818 congratulations! Xx

MaryShelley1818 · 23/09/2020 18:20

Thank you so much. Hopefully gives people a bit of hope xx

Sunbird24 · 23/09/2020 20:18

@MaryShelley1818 what lovely news!

I’ve had my first ultrasound today and moved from down regulating to stimulating, so hoping for an egg collection in about 2 weeks...

ecostats · 23/09/2020 20:41

@MaryShelley1818, lovely update, I'm so glad your scan went well 😀

@sunbird24, I hope everything goes well with the stims for you, fingers crossed.

My second IVF cycle has been successful so far. BFP last week so we'll see if that works out. After 2 mcs, I'm pretty anxious and taking things a day at a time.

Sunbird24 · 23/09/2020 21:35

Well done @ecostats, will keep everything crossed it sticks for you!

Hobbes39 · 23/09/2020 21:55

Hi! I have been away for a long time, so not sure if anyone will remember me, but my twins are now 1 😱🥰
I was just back in Mumsnet for other reasons and had to see if I could find out how everyone was getting on & I saw your news @Cleozeta & @Russkispy! Huge congratulations! I'm so pleased for you & hope that the next few months go smoothly!
@CritterTamer - so sorry your frozen transfer didn't work this time - I honestly dont know how you are going through it all again, your twins must sleep a lot better than mine! 🤣
Anyway, I just wanted to wish you all well - for those that I don't know, I hope that the fact I'm popping in here as a 43 year old with 1 year old twins gives you hope! Good luck all x

Hopefully123 · 24/09/2020 13:52

Hi Sunbird24...hope ur well. Just to ask what does down regulating to stimulating mean? Sorry I'm not familiar with these names. Thanking you so much x

Sunbird24 · 24/09/2020 20:07

Hi @Hopefully123, the down regulating injections stop you ovulating so that your ovaries start as a bit of a clean slate, then when you start stimulations it encourages them to develop lots of eggs at the same time (hopefully!) for collecting together. Think I’ve explained that right but sure someone will correct me if I’ve missed anything!

Chatbash72 · 26/09/2020 08:18

Fab news @MaryShelley1818
@ecostats 🙏🤞🤞
Hello @Hobbes39 glad all is well.
Month before last I had mid cycle bleeding, last cycle was ok regular as clockwork, this cycle more bleeding. Well cross between spotting and bleeding. Spoke to dr yesterday and although she tried to go down the this is norm for peri route I also have a little bloating and back ache, she is sending me for an ultrasound.. which my friend has said is an urgent referral which has freaked me out a little. It will be good to know what's going on in there..

Hello Ladies can I join this thread? My other group of 40+ mums-to-be has gone a little quiet. I am 42, have been trying for a year, one CP conceived naturally and one MMC at 8 weeks from IVF. Still waiting for AF to come back from that (it was in August) and then planning another cycle of IVF. No kids yet, and finding this quite hard.

ecostats · 01/10/2020 07:16

@Anxiousbuthopeful, welcome to the group. There are a few of us here in similar situations. I'm really sorry about your MMC, it's an awful thing to go through. When are you planning your next round?

Thanks for your support everyone, I'm just waiting it out for my scan next week.

BooseysMom · 02/10/2020 15:04

Thank you lovely....how are you doing? Xx
Anxiousbuthopeful · 02/10/2020 22:34

Hi @ecostats, AF arrived on Tuesday and attempting my next round already but such poor antral follicle count that I think it may get cancelled. Have had a miserable couple of days worrying about it but feeling a little more positive now - even if it does get cancelled next month might be better...

GanderousGoose · 03/10/2020 19:50

Hi please can I join too (not sure if I am already on somewhere!). 40 and TTC no. 2. DS is nearly 14. Had a BFP at 9dpo and got good line progression on FRERs but had a CP in Aug and painfully aware of my age plus being overweight... Pics attached.

ecostats · 03/10/2020 20:59

@anxiousbuthopeful, what's your AFC and how many eggs do you normally get? Only asking because I have got 3 eggs collected each round with 2 blastocysts from the 1st round and 1 blastocyst from the 2nd round. So not high numbers at all but my clinic says that's what they'd expect from my age and AMH level.

Anxiousbuthopeful · 03/10/2020 21:06

Hi @ecostats - I am 42 with low AMH. Got 8 eggs (4 fertilized) at my first round, BFP but miscarried at 8 weeks. Now starting off with 5 AF, not sure what will happen next.
