Catconfusion · 12/08/2021 10:21

Congratulations @SamoyedFan123 such good news.

Just thought I’d come on to say I’m expecting baby number 2. Conceived just after my 42nd birthday. I’m 6 plus 4 and we just had a scan showing the heartbeat. Obviously it’s early but we’re hopeful this is it for us.

I hope everyone else is doing well. Xx

FutureMum · 21/08/2021 19:50

Congratulations catConfusion, and good luck to everyone who keeps trying. I am 44 now and my body keeps telling me it’s in the perimenopause, so DC3 seems more unlikely. I try to remain positive, eat healthily, take supplements, but my stress levels are high, esp during the summer holidays. This is how things stand at the moment. I feel quite lonely as only my husband knows of this longing. But every month is a new opportunity x

Catconfusion · 21/08/2021 20:14

Thank you @FutureMum I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way. Is there someone you can confide in?

You just never know what might happen. A friend of mine was told at 37 she was perimenopausal. At 40 she went on HRT because her symptoms were so severe. At 41 she fell pregnant and it was a complete surprise. She didn’t think it was possible. It’s amazing what the body can do and you’re right, each month is a new opportunity. I wish you all the luck in the world! Xx

Hello ladies. I wanted to post an update. I had one of the frozen embryos implanted in August. It stuck, split into twins (!), saw heartbeats at 6 week scan and then miscarried at 7 weeks. So sad to lose them and now 43 so desperately worried it won’t happen again and I will just have to find a way to muddle through without.

Anxiousbuthopeful · 14/09/2021 12:29

Hello everyone! Update from me. One of my frozen embryos implanted, split into identical twins and then I miscarried at 7 weeks exactly. I am in bits, also because it feels like the last chance. Have one more frozen embryo to try, and then will keep trying naturally for a bit and then DE I think. Need some hope…

Anxiousbuthopeful · 14/09/2021 12:30

Sorry. Tech malfunction. Couldn’t see my update so posted again but of course now there’s two. Apologies. Hope everyone is doing well.

Littlemiss41andfabulous · 16/09/2021 19:46

@Anxiousbuthopeful I'm so sorry to read what's happened to you.

There have been recent posts on Mumsnet from mums in mid 40's that have successfully conceived grown their babies to term, so there is definitely hope. I completely get you being in bits right now as you grief your twins.

I hope you've had people around you to comfort you, and space to process what's happened.

I wish you all the best with your next embryo, when you're ready xxx

Hi ladies, not been on for a while. I'm 41 and stopped trying so much.
However, picking brains and thoughts before I go into overdrive.... went on holiday and it was around the time of ovulation. I'm on CD26 today now and have started bleeding lightly. My cycle is usually between 29 to 34 days. I'm wondering if AF is just early or if it could be an implantation bleed.... that would be so unexpected.
What other signs should I look for at implantation?

Franklydear · 12/03/2022 06:39

Hi, can I hop in? I am 44 trying for number 2, ds is 11, I am currently in a pickle, af is late, I’ve been spotting for 3 days, no af, bfn 2 days ago,

Realitysucks · 12/03/2022 21:20

Omg not been here for ages ! @Catconfusion congratulations so pleased for you ! @BooseysMom how are you hope all ok!

So we are a month away from baby Jakes 2nd birthday! Can’t believe how quick it’s gone. But I’m officially done ladies ! 44 and menopause is
Starting! I did well to squeeze him in at 42! It really was one last gift from Mother Nature !

BooseysMom · 06/04/2022 15:07

@Realitysucks.. just resurrected this old thread! Is this the last one we had going? Anyway you asked me how i was and i've only just found it by pure accident as I was browsing thru the conception pages! I'm OK thanks, def peri menopausal at 50 but am happy with my DS. DS is 8 would you believe! How are you?

Realitysucks · 06/04/2022 18:30

@BooseysMom ohh bless I’m good thanks! Little one is two a week on Saturday ! I’m definitely feeling the menopause! Can’t believe how time has flown! This is the last thread I could find as lost you guys for a while lol !

BooseysMom · 08/04/2022 02:38

@Realitysucks.. Hello! Glad you saw my post! Yes it's been nearly a year since you last posted and the thread drops out of my watching list so I lose it but then rediscover it from time to time! I love the way that you can still find the 'old' crew! Didn't you have twins? Or was that @crittertamer? Sorry my memory is awful now..blaming menopausal brain fog!

Hopefully123 · 11/03/2023 12:17

Hi anyone concieved with small follicles?

Reddog76 · 30/09/2023 13:53

Hi there,
Wondering whether this thread was still going or could be revived???

46 years old here and ttc no.2. Had my first at 41 and was hoping to hear some success stories from this thread......

Littlemiss42andfabulous · 30/09/2023 19:58

Hi @Reddog76,

I had my first at 41 and am now 43 and 27 weeks pregnant with my second. Both were conceived naturally. My first took 13 months to conceive, and this one took 5 months. All the best TTC number 2! XxX

Reddog76 · 01/10/2023 01:26

Hi @Littlemiss42andfabulous

Congratulations! I hope all is going well. Did you take anything in particular? I did SMEP when I conceived my DD but it was tough and I'm not sure we are able to do that now. 😂

Stranger3 · 01/10/2023 11:39

i had a baby at 45. She is now two and, appropriately, a terror :). Took 3 months to conceive, just using OPKs. I feel incredibly lucky but it is definitely possible. Best of luck!!! X

Littlemiss42andfabulous · 08/10/2023 23:57

@Reddog76 sorry for the late reply. We literally tried to have sex every 2 or 3 days for about the middle fortnight of my 28 day cycle. We didn't always manage it! I took pro-conceive supplements too. XxX

Franklydear · 22/05/2024 19:04

So I’m not that crazy ttc number 2 at 46, number 1 is 14, so it definitely feels like starting again, also everyone I know ttc is under 40, and mostly under 30 so feels very lonely here

zelda200 · 23/05/2024 09:01

Hello Franklydear... hope all goes well. Recommend Melanie Brown the fertility nutritionist. She really helped me conceive at 45. Think it made a big difference. xxx

Franklydear · 23/05/2024 19:19

Thanks, I’ll check it out
