@SamoyedFan123.. Ah, thank you! How are you?

It's ok, I just like popping by every now and then to see how everyone is. I spend more time on the one child families thread, and apart from the monthly hormonal rages (!) I'm in a good place for most of the time Smile

zelda200 · 13/05/2021 08:41

In case this is useful to anyone: I had a baby at 45.5 (after a miscarriage at 44) and I'm convinced it was because of the advice of a fertility nutritionist. She put me on lots of vitamins and minerals including CoQ10 (there is research evidence this improves IVF results) and a healthy diet. I did this for six months and finally conceived and had a healthy baby. I also felt much better in myself even before I conceived, which is a nice gift to yourself in stressful times.
I don't want to give false hope to anyone, but really want to pass it on in case it is of any help (I recommended her to a friend who also conceived and had a baby over 40): melaniebrownnutrition.com/

Hi ladies, I hope this thread doesn't disappear. So will post to keep it alive.
I'm 11DPO today and already tested negative on a FRER yesterday, so am not feeling optimistic about this cycle.

Littlemiss40andfabulous · 22/05/2021 16:40

Hi everyone, just jumping onto this post for the first time (I should be littlemiss41and fabulous now)

@zelda200 thanks for the advice. I bought a book recently 'it starts with an egg' on the advice on another over 40's forum and was impressed with the evidence base the recommendations came from. On the back of it I've just started specific multivitamins and Coenzyme 10 too.

You need to take them for 3-4 months to have an effect as the way they work if they improve the development of your immature eggs in the months leading up to when they are mature and you ovulate.

I was feeling quite despondent before but that has given me some hope and something to aim for!

SamoyedFan123 · 22/05/2021 17:47

@BooseysMom Hi! Sorry I missed your last post - as @birdbybird said, this thread is in danger of disappearing which would be a shame given how long it's been going! I'm fine thanks - 33 weeks this weekend and huge 🐳
@Littlemiss40andfabulous I would recommend CoQ10 or ubiquinol too - I used it in our successful IVF cycle and baby no 3 from that cycle is due in a few weeks now!

Pinkywoo · 22/05/2021 18:54

I'm on day 21 of my cycle but no idea how many dpo as I've not had a positive opk despite constant testing, I'll just have to wait and see what happens in a weeks time.

BooseysMom · 23/05/2021 18:49

@SamoyedFan123 .. Congratulations! Flowers

Pinkywoo · 01/06/2021 08:09

I'm three days late and have taken several tests over the last few days but all were negative. I had my second dose of the vaccine a couple of weeks ago so maybe it's affected my cycle, has anyone else had this?

Pinkywoo · 05/06/2021 08:21

Never mind, af is here Sad

Springroll89 · 05/06/2021 09:52

Sorry @pinkywoo mine was about 3 days late a couple of weeks ago which was actually very handy as it waited until after our weekend away when we were swimming. It still messes with your head though doesn't it. Hope you're ok

Anxiousbuthopeful · 15/06/2021 18:26

Hello ladies, just popping in to see how everyone is doing. Still TTC, turning 43 in a month and trying not to feel like it is the end of the road!

SamoyedFan123 · 15/06/2021 19:23

@Anxiousbuthopeful it's not the end of the road! I'm 43 and 36 weeks pregnant. Admittedly it was a FET but the embryo was made when I was nearly 41. Been quite a few ladies on the pregnancy board aged 43 recently too.

Anxiousbuthopeful · 15/06/2021 20:51

Thanks @SamoyedFan123! That’s so comforting to hear. How is the pregnancy going?

SamoyedFan123 · 15/06/2021 21:12

@Anxiousbuthopeful it's good thank you, baby is measuring huge so induction booked for 28th June - i can't wait as it's so hard being this big in the hot weather and looking after my two year old twins as well!

I really hope you get your BFP soon - have you been trying long?

Anxiousbuthopeful · 15/06/2021 21:20

@SamoyedFan123 - hurrah! Almost there! I’ve been trying for a year and a half, with three chemical pregnancies (two naturally conceived and two via IVF) and an early miscarriage via IVF. I also have two untested frozen blasts from two further IVF cycles (which yielded one blast each) which I will transfer next month. It has been a long road and hard to keep hopeful!

SamoyedFan123 · 15/06/2021 21:42

@Anxiousbuthopeful that's great that you still have frozen embryos, but I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriages - hopefully one of those frosties will be the one 🤞🤞🤞🤞
We're incredibly lucky to get twins from our second fresh cycle in 2018 (first cycle was a BFN with no crisis), and then to have another viable pregnancy with one of the two frozen embryos from that same round. At the time aged 40 they told us 15% chance of one baby! I think you have every reason to be hopeful with the two embryos you have left. - are you gong to test them out just transfer them and hope for the best? I was never convinced about the benefits of testing so we never tested any of ours.

Chatbash72 · 20/06/2021 15:58

I lost my baby last year, found out my bro and wife were having another on my due date and now the name they are using for baby if it’s a girl is the name I had chosen for our baby if it was a girl….
I’m not sure I can quite get my head around this….
Period is late, they are here for lunch and Sod’s law is I will come in later tonight…
My mind is like a washing machine trying to keep my emotions together
I just want everyone to go home now so I can sob my heart out

I am so sorry @Chatbash72. I understand how horrible this all is. I am CD 1 again and feel so sad too.

SamoyedFan123 · 20/06/2021 21:05

@Chatbash72 sending hugs - that sounds so rough (NC from CritterTamer btw)
How you're okay and they've gone so you can get some rest now xxx

Chatbash72 · 23/06/2021 10:48

Am struggling to feel the positive self that I normally am… think that the weekend has rocked me…
I feel old and useless, I feel that if I shared my m/c history with my family I would just get scorn and judgment for trying to have kids at my age and selfish or greedy because I already have kids..
it’s ironic really because af hit as regular as clockwork on Sunday night to my body isn’t past it..
I still ovulate but I feel like I can’t shake this helpless feeling…
Normally I’m “ new cycle, new start” but I’m just tired.. and angry.
Angry that I can’t share with my family, angry that I can’t and now my beautiful baby name is gone.. ( which I know is crazy because I can still use it…. ) but hormones aren’t thinking very well..
😞😞😞
I need my fertile mojo back 🙏🙏🙏🤞🤞

@Chatbash72.. I completely feel you. I remember you very well from when I was on here alot and you were always positive and encouraging and supportive of everyone ttc. I'm really sorry to hear you lost your baby last year and I send hugs and love.
I feel exactly the same, old and useless, and I also have an unsupportive family who would ridicule me if they knew I had been ttc at 48! Even though its totally nothing to do with them. I just try to remind myself they are idiots and have as little to do with them as poss.
I hope you're ok. We're in this together Flowers

SamoyedFan123 · 03/07/2021 09:31

Hi ladies
I don't want to be insensitive here, but if any of you ladies from the original group remember me (crittertamer), i just wanted to let you know that my little boy was born on Thursday afternoon at a whopping 8lb 12oz by VBAC. We are so in love and can't wait to get him home to meet the twins! I'm 43.5 so there is hope after 40 ladies xxx

Congratulations @SamoyedFan123 Crittertamer! He's gorgeous! So exciting for your twins ☺️

My little boy will be 8 months tomorrow. Our journey wasn't straight forward and in the end we used DE and I love my baby boy so much!

Baby dust to you all who's still trying. 🫂🫂

SamoyedFan123 · 03/07/2021 10:50

Hi @Russkispy, great to hear from you again and congrats on your baby boy! I'm so glad you had a happy ending!

Think I'm going to officially sign out of the ttc forums now as I'm definitely done this time, but wanted to maybe offer some hope to those still on this thread ❤️

Russkispy · 03/07/2021 11:12

I'm not on any forums but happy to help anyone who's got questions about DE. We have 1 child with my OE and baby boy with DE.

And we're definitely done with babies! In a nice possible way!

@SamoyedFan123 so happy for you! 😘
