👋

SomnolentSekhmet · 24/07/2020 09:24

Just thought I'd ask a question of you knowledgeable ladies. I took ubiquinol very briefly (300mg) but stopped as it gave me palpitations which were scary as hell. Did anybody get that? Any suggestions to help?

@SomnolentSekhmet so sorry to read your update. Are you going to go for another scan or just wait it out 😕 Big hugs to you.

I always took at least 200mg of Co enzyme Q10 so cant help you on your question, sorry.
I also take baby aspirin and omega 3 (omega 3 on its own as it can affect absorption of other vitamins) and a decent pre conception multi vitamin.

I’m supposed to be ovulating today but OPK is negative 🤦🏽‍♀️ Will test again later today but not looking good this month.

SomnolentSekhmet · 24/07/2020 11:20

I'm going to give it a week or so and if the spotting hasn't progressed then try to get a scan at the EPU. I've had a natural miscarriage at 13 weeks some years ago and found it quite traumatic, ending up on a drip for blood loss so I'd rather avoid a repeat of that if possible. Thanks for the kind words, it really does help :)

ecostats · 24/07/2020 16:33

@SomnolentSekhmet, really sorry about what you're going through. I have taken 225mg of co-q10 a day for several months and not have heart palpitations, or any other side effects. DHEA on the other hand...

Thanks for starting a new thread @Chatbash72!

Glad everything is going well @maryshelley1818 Smile

Giraffeskills · 24/07/2020 17:15

@SomnolentSekhmet I had similar with ubiquinol when I started taking it at 400mg, also a bit of lightheadedness. I dropped to 200mg and both went away so it might be worth trying a lower dose. I think it is worth taking if possible.

So sorry to hear the news from your scan, I've been watching in the background and was really wishing you the best. I hope the next few weeks aren't too difficult. xx

SomnolentSekhmet · 24/07/2020 17:21

Thanks for all your kind words. I'm actually doing okay at the moment, I think because there's always the option of donor eggs in a year or two :)

lucieloos · 24/07/2020 19:38

So sorry to hear @SomnolentSekhmet

shinylovesshoes · 24/07/2020 20:18

👋🏻 Just adding myself back in. Now 4 days post ovulation so just a waiting game for me now

HouseOfRunners · 24/07/2020 21:35

@SomnolentSekhmet I bet that was truly awful for you 😔 Did they take a blood test for hCG levels?

Still no ovulation here and don’t even feel like it will happen. I guess that’s “normal” at our age? Perhaps I’m peri menopausal 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have had some weird hot flushes this year. Very infrequent but definitely happened.

Russkispy · 25/07/2020 00:06

@chatbash72 thanks for new thread. I'm still in the background. Rooting for you all! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

claireb707 · 25/07/2020 07:15

So sorry @SomnolentSekhmet xx

I go solid smiley this morning so now for 3 days in a row 😂🤞🤞

Has anyone else noticed issues with the femometer app and taking pics of opk tests. Since the most recent update this week it's stopped showing the test and I just get a blank box where the test should be. 😩😩I've messaged them and they said it could be network issues but it's only done it since the update. Its fine whilst generating the result but when it gives a score the test has gone

@HouseOfRunners have you noticed changes with your cycle over the past couple of years? Perimenopause tends to follow a pattern with them shortening, then lengthening. I've been in the shortening stage for 3 years now so I think there's still time, even if you are perimenopausal :)

HouseOfRunners · 25/07/2020 08:37

@SomnolentSekhmet they are much shorter and much lighter....and one month recently (TMI alert) it was like my insides were coming out 😬😩 Not clots but massive bits of tissue - sorry for the description!!
We will keep trying and see what happens.
Still not ovulating so who knows what’s happening this month 🤦🏽‍♀️

@claireb707 I use that app and their opks and haven’t had that issue....yet 😄 Great to see those strong lines 💪🏼

Hopefully123 · 25/07/2020 10:34

Hi thanks for adding me x

SomnolentSekhmet · 25/07/2020 11:22

@HouseOfRunners Any chance you started OPK testing too late? For me, ovulation varies between days 10 and 15 now so I have to start testing pretty damn early to catch the surge. Stupid bodies!

HouseOfRunners · 25/07/2020 13:28

@SomnolentSekhmet hmmmm you might be right....I’ve been tracking using the app etc and maybe I just missed the signs 😩 I’ll see how the next few days go but feel this month is a total miss!

Springroll89 · 26/07/2020 08:40

So sorry for your loss @SomnolentSekhmet x

HouseOfRunners · 26/07/2020 11:47

So it seems I’m late to the part this month....just got a 33% reading on an OPK.....so let’s see.....perhaps tomorrow will be the peak.

HouseOfRunners · 26/07/2020 11:47

*party

HouseOfRunners · 26/07/2020 19:06

@SomnolentSekhmet how are you doing?

SomnolentSekhmet · 26/07/2020 19:18

I passed the sac a couple of hours ago but am feeling surprisingly sanguine about it all. The whole process was a lot less painful and scary than my last miscarriage. Got myself a bottle of wine and just spending time with the kids I have. Although I've also ordered some OPKs from Amazon so I'll be trying again asap.

HouseOfRunners · 27/07/2020 10:53

Oh massive hugs to you @SomnolentSekhmet ❤️ I have been thinking about you x

So out of the blue today I got a very strong peak result 🙄😄 DH is over the moon he will be getting some action for the next few days. Poor deprived man.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Glad you're feeling ok in the circumstances, thinking of you xx
