Hello, joining this thread. I have 2 DCs, almost 10 and 2. I am 43 and just managed to get period back as DC2 breastfeeds at night. TTC number three, we eat healthily but we are no spring chickens and life is stressful. Time will tell. Best of luck to everyone x

MaryShelley1818 · 19/08/2020 13:28

I rang the hospital because my nerves are shredded and I can't wait any longer - she rang the lab for the results for me and.........really really low risk! 1 in 6000 which is amazing at my age. She said NT scan and bloods were perfect 😊 Can't describe the relief! Xx

Russkispy · 19/08/2020 17:41

@MaryShelley1818 what a relief! You can relax now. A bit and one day at a time. You're doing well!

ecostats · 19/08/2020 20:07

@FutureMum, welcome to the group!

@maryshelley1818, amazing news, you must be relieved!! Smile

Rubyroost · 20/08/2020 00:02

@MaryShelley1818 that's excellent news, glad you have got some relief. It feels good doesn't it.

Thank you everyone. I know it's not 100% but I feel really reassured and relieved. It's the first time in 5weeks today that I've woken up without a pounding headache.

We've cancelled the Harmony redraw, and booked a Gender Scan for 2nd September.

It's time to just relax for a little bit and try and enjoy it.

CritterTamer · 21/08/2020 16:24

Hi ladies, I fell off this thread I think when it changed to number 6 and only just found you all again. I hope everyone is doing OK but I had had the time to read it all and catch up yet.

Yesterday I finally had a frozen embryo transfer after several delays due to covid, then a cancelled cycle due to a poor quality lining so feel grateful to have got to this stage, but I'm kind of feeling that it's just not meant to be after everything that has gone wrong so far so I'm not at all confident. The embryo thawed to a great quality and started hatching before the transfer so I'm trying to keep a bit of hope alive though 😊
Anxious TWW now for me - anyone else in the tww?

Russkispy · 21/08/2020 22:37

@CritterTamer nice to hear from you. Am not in tww but crossing everything for you! Hope you and your twins are doing well!
I'm currently 29 weeks 😚

CritterTamer · 22/08/2020 07:05

@Russkispy that's great! Third trimester so not too long to go now 😊 I can't remember whether you have other children or not?

ecostats · 22/08/2020 07:54

@crittertamer, good luck for your tww! I'm stimming on a fresh cycle so hopefully doing an SET in a couple of weeks time.

@MaryShelley1818, glad you can relax a little bit Smile

Russkispy · 22/08/2020 08:17

@CritterTamer yes, have a 3 year old DD. And this one is DE. And we're expecting a baby boy 💙

CritterTamer · 22/08/2020 10:29

@ecostats so exciting for you! Is it your first go at IVF?
@Russkispy a boy and a girl then! Perfect 😊

ecostats · 22/08/2020 10:44

@CritterTamer, no I had a MMC in May from the 1st round (and a MC last Nov) so I'm a bit wary of how this one is going to go. Trying not to get my hopes up basically...probably a situation that a lot of us in this thread are in!

hmmm123 · 22/08/2020 11:12

Hi all

Just checking in. You may remember me I had an ectopic last year. Still seeing what happens but no luck .. I have resigned myself to it not happening but have a little bit of hope every month. Congratulations to everyone who is pregnant and good luck to those trying

Is cleozeta still on here? I'm thinking of her

Russkispy · 22/08/2020 22:30

@CritterTamer thank you! Yes, my family would be complete once this baby is here.

@hmmm123 I remember you 😀 hope you're ok? @Cleozeta is on another thread. I've tagged her on here

CritterTamer · 23/08/2020 07:27

@ecostats sorry to hear about your MC. I hope you have better luck with this cycle 🤞

ecostats · 23/08/2020 08:48

Thanks @CritterTamer, you too! 🤞🤞

CritterTamer · 23/08/2020 11:00

Thanks @ecostats. I think it's all over for me. Had a few implantation twinges and things for last two days but woke up at 2am today to nothing at all and the strong feeling that it's all gone wrong 😭

ecostats · 23/08/2020 11:07

@crittertamer, don't give up, it could be that the implantation has finished! If you're not bleeding, youre still in the game. And even if you do bleed, you can't know for sure until you do a test. Stay positive 🤞

gizmo167 · 24/08/2020 11:27

Can I join please? I'm 42 have one DD aged 7, been with my new partner for over 2 years now, hadnt been trying but not preventing either but found out I was pregnant in January, unfortunately had mc at 5wk5d, hit me harder than I thought it would!

Since then have had serious doubts that I have been ov, one noticeable difference is that I havent had the sore boobs I normally get before AF, this was one of the very clear symptoms when I got the BFP, my cycles have been 28-29 days since the mc, first month obviously was longer but since they have been regular.

I have pcos and had trouble conceiving my DD, I think I've just given up really, the Dr didnt give me much encouragement after my MC, her advice was that I couldnt expect my eggs to be good forever could I!!!!

Anyway, I'm CD29 today and AF hasnt appeared yet. I've convinced myself I wont get another BFP anyway and promised myself I just have to get over it, I'm too old and the MC was my last chance! I've no sore boobs whatsoever, cramps just like before AF, not as dry as I would be CM wise and have had strange stretching pains in my tummy, to the extent that I couldnt lie on my side last night, my body playing some other trick on me no doubt!

Anyway sorry for the long rant and I look forward to reading about loads more BFP's x

Hi. Has anyone over 40 years old took DHEA to concieve and successfully continued the pregnancy.

CritterTamer · 25/08/2020 19:21

@Hopefully123 I used testosterone gel which is pretty much the same thing for my last IVF cycle. Had a big impact on egg quality and that cycle resulted in my twins (abs the frozen embryo I've just had transferred back 😀).

Giraffeskills · 25/08/2020 20:44

I used DHEA and have conceived naturally for the first time ever at 42. Now 9 weeks so very early days but an early scan looked ok. Trying to not get too excited just yet... I have a DD aged 2 through IVF, since then we have done 3 unsuccessful cycles, although I was using DHEA for the last and it was much better in terms of egg numbers, and we have a frozen embryo left from that.

I do really believe DHEA helped us, but I strongly recommend reading It Starts With The Egg which has advice on who DHEA is suitable for (not everyone), how to monitor blood levels etc, plus some info on other supplements and lifestyle etc that we also followed.

Good luck.

Hello! Can I join? I’m 40 and have been TTC for 20 months. I have two other children who I conceived first cycle tried. So this is unexplained infertility for me (although I’ve only had the day 3 and 21 blood tests).

Really interested in the discussion about DHEA, I hadn’t heard of it before! I have recently bought “it starts with the egg” but find it a little scary!

I’m on cycle day 7 now and really want it to work this cycle even though the chances feel so slim. So want to try something new, just to give me some new hope!
