I think 6mm is about the minimum you can have for a successful implantation so it's possible. Did you see a triple layer in the lining as this is far more important than the thickness I believe (although I think after ovulation the lining compresses down and looks different so it might not be easy to see a triple layer). I definitely wouldn't give up hope though.

Hi, is it ok if I join you? I'm 40 and ttc my second, DS is 16 months now and we've been trying for the last 4 months. I've had numerous ovarian cysts, (mostly dermoid) meaning both ovaries are damaged so time is against me!

Anxiousbuthopeful · 03/03/2021 21:01

Hello! Nice to meet you @pinkywoo and thanks @SamoyedFan123 for responding. I got my period last night so definitely out. Also a bit worried because it is so light (which would fit with the thin lining observation, right?). Have had two endometrial biopsies so maybe to do with that...

SamoyedFan123 · 03/03/2021 21:34

@Anxiousbuthopeful sorry to hear that AF got you. Hopefully it was just a one off wonky cycle and your lining will return to normal soon 🤞 I struggle with thinnish lining too and had nightmares trying to get it right for my Medicated FETs.

Welcome @Pinkywoo. Do cysts have to mean that your ovaries are damaged? I thought they were fairly common (not suffering I know much about so genuinely interested).

Pinkywoo · 04/03/2021 00:28

@SamoyedFan123 not normally no, most cysts are fluid filled and only need removing if they're absolutely massive, but dermoids are solid so need operating on if they get over 6-7mm. They're the ones that have bone, hair and even teeth in them!
I had 3 dermoids removed from my right ovary which was left very small and damaged, and because of the way they grow the one on my left will be doing damage. When I've finished having children they'll remove that one too but I'll probably lose the whole ovary. Sorry that was quite long!

SamoyedFan123 · 04/03/2021 07:03

Oh my goodness @Pinkywoo that sounds unpleasant - I'm sorry you've had to go thru that. I now have images of ovaries full of teeth! Good luck with your TTC journey xxx

Pinkywoo · 04/03/2021 07:40

One of the ones they removed did have a whole tooth in it! They don't let you keep anything now though, DH was very relieved Grin

Twochews78 · 08/03/2021 19:18

How are people getting on? I’m waiting on AF which is due about now and it feels like it taking forever!! Going to get cracking after that. Got my first vaccine on Saturday which left me feeling rubbish yesterday but better today. Anyone else had their’s yet?

Anxiousbuthopeful · 08/03/2021 19:56

I am feeling a bit miserable as my IVF cycle was cancelled because of very high progesterone and low response at day 3 of stimms. Had a cyst last cycle which may explain it. Or else just hormones going a bit loopy...

SamoyedFan123 · 08/03/2021 20:06

@Anxiousbuthopeful I'm sorry to hear that your cycle got cancelled. Day 3 of stims seems really early to cancel for low response - my clinic don't even scan to check until 7 days of stims. Are you going to start again next month?

@Twochews78 sorry to hear that your vaccine made you unwell. I had covid over Xmas and it's a bloody awful thing. I was going off her a vaccine soon as I'm asthmatic, but since I'm pregnant I don't think they'll give it to me. I really don't want covid again though! Are you trying naturally or waiting to start a treatment cycle?

SamoyedFan123 · 08/03/2021 20:07

Sorry that should have said hoping to have a vaccine soon*

Twochews78 · 08/03/2021 20:27

Sorry, you must feel very disappointed!!

Twochews78 · 08/03/2021 20:34

Sorry that was Anxiousbuthopeful!

Samoyedfan123, I’m asthmatic too, I’m not sure. I’m in Glasgow and was looking at the guidelines and I think you might be able to ask for it, I’m sure frontline workers who are pregnant get it. I can imagine you don’t, sounds brutal!

I’m trying naturally, I’ve been very lucky with getting pregnant with my other two but you just don’t know! I’m two years older, so will just have to wait and see.

Anxiousbuthopeful · 09/03/2021 07:09

Thank you @SamoyedFan123 and @Twochews78 - I am a bit disappointed but feel better this morning. Hoping it is just a blip but can’t get a straight answer out of my doctors about what could cause the hormonal imbalance...

Gosh @samoyedfan123 how scary to get Covid when pregnant! Is it still very bad where you all are?

SamoyedFan123 · 09/03/2021 12:16

@Anxiousbuthopeful I'm in South Wales, and it was awful here back in December and January, but it's called down hugely now. We are heading that moon - essential retail and hairdressers, etc. might be reopening next Monday in Wales 🤞 I was 10 weeks pregnant when I got it and it was really unpleasant on top of first trimester fatigue and morning sickness. I was poorly for 5 weeks and still can't smell or taste properly 😭
I hope you manage to get some answers out of your consultant soon and you can get started again quickly. Cancelled cycle are incredibly frustrating xxx

SamoyedFan123 · 09/03/2021 12:18

OMG, so may typos from my auto correct! Calmed down, hearing and non - essential retail!!!

Fishergirl · 10/03/2021 19:22

I've dipped in and out of this thread for ages and it's so encouraging to see successes and bfps but I think I've come to accept that another baby isn't going to happen for me. I'm going to have a clear out in the Easter hols and get rid of all of the baby stuff that I have kept from my ds. I'm absolutely dreading it. I get choked thinking about it and it brings back memories of all the miscarriages and babies that didn't make it into the world. Sorry for the misery post!

Springroll89 · 10/03/2021 19:54

I'm with you @Fishergirl it's hard but I think it is a big relief at the same time. We've been trying for number 3 for 2 1/2 years with only 1 chemical pregnancy in that time and I can honestly say I am feeling OK and even a bit positive about it. Finally. I'll shortly be 43 and I feel like that time has passed and I'm lucky for what I have. I even don't spend all my time thinking about it which is just such a relief! I hope you feel OK soon xx

Fishergirl · 12/03/2021 23:09

Thank you @Springroll89. I'm glad you're feeling positive and feel relief from not having to poas monthly etc etc! I'm sure I'll get there. Just not looking forward to the journey. 😞Xx

Springroll89 · 13/03/2021 07:34

I hope you have success or get to that point @Fishergirl This is going to sound completely ridiculous, and I may seem really stupid for saying it, but since we got a kitten a few months ago I do actually feel better. It's a distraction and maybe someone else to concentrate on/receive my maternal feelings. Stupid I know, and no help if you already have a pet or don't want a pet. We hope to get a dog in a couple of years which I'm also looking forward to. Hope that doesn't sound too silly, but that's "my truth" (!) Xx

Catconfusion · 13/03/2021 10:26

Hello ladies, I’ve dipped in and out of this thread since ttc my ds at 40. I’m now 11 months PP and actively trying for number two. I’ll be 42 in June. I have crazy irregular cycles of 28-60 days. Always been like that so not age related.

First cycle in January we dtd once without any monitoring and I got a bfp but had a mc early on. This cycle we tracked and timed perfectly but bfn 🤷🏻‍♀️. Feeling like my hormones are all over the place after the early loss. Anyway hoping to chat to you.

Sending love to all those who feel they’re coming to the end of their journey. I’m so optimistic about getting pregnant again I do wonder if I need to be a bit more accepting of it not happening and being ok with that. Xx

Pinkywoo · 14/03/2021 08:44

@Fishergirl that sounds really tough, I've kept all of DS's clothes "just in case" and have completely run out of space. Hopefully, although it's hard to do, having a clear-out will be like a weight lifted. Flowers

Anxiousbuthopeful · 16/03/2021 13:34

Hello everyone! I have a question. My last 3 cycles have been tampered with. The first I took estrogen for a FET which was cancelled after a few days of medication (endometritis), so I got a period/withdrawal bleed as soon as I stopped taking estrogen (around CD 12). The cycle after that I had a cyst, had a weird and light period starting CD 25. The cycle after that I started taking gonadotrophins for an egg collection which was cancelled because of high progesterone, stopped medication on CD 7. Now on CD 14 but OPKs don’t show ovulation. Is it normal for my hormones to be all over the place? I also worry that it may be age related (42).

Fishergirl · 17/03/2021 07:01

@Springroll89 funnily enough I was thinking of the very same thing the other week!

Fishergirl · 17/03/2021 07:05

@Pinkywoo thank you Smile I do think it'll be like a weight lifted (eventually!). I just know I'll be sat on the floor reminiscing over each baby gro/outfit/baby toy/the sleepyhead Sad. I'm lucky to have a beautiful son though and mustn't forget that.
