Oh I've just seen that you have had negative tests? That is strange! How sensitive are your tests?

Rubyroost · 25/10/2020 15:57

Or could be possible chemical?

DigiSmith · 25/10/2020 16:00

I’ve been using Clearblue digital, but since the peak thing, I’ve run out of those so used a Sainsbury’s one. There’s so much out there that’s confusing so I’m waiting a couple more days to test again. Waiting is so hard!

Rubyroost · 25/10/2020 16:09

They are normally pretty sensitive and if the ovulation tests detect a pregnancy, you'd expect a pregnancy test to. I've used the sainsburys one and it picked up my pregnancy relatively easy. Are you reading it right? Some have just a blue line, others a cross.

DigiSmith · 25/10/2020 16:15

Yeah, I’m looking at the instructions when I do it because it feels like I’m making things up in my head.

Rubyroost · 25/10/2020 17:26

That's very strange

DigiSmith · 25/10/2020 17:56

So the question is could I just be ovulating at this point, even though I ov’d before and still no AF?

Rubyroost · 25/10/2020 21:35

Gosh, no idea. Sounds odd

dobzyj · 01/11/2020 11:50

@lucieloos thank you for the confidence boost! Congrats to you too

DigiSmith · 01/11/2020 12:39

I went for my blood test on Friday and results hopefully in tomorrow xx

Rubyroost · 01/11/2020 15:48

@DigiSmith to check hcg? Have you done another pregnancy test?

SamoyedFan123 · 02/11/2020 16:34

Hi ladies, I used to be on these threads under a different username (CritterTamer) but had a bit of a meltdown after a failed FET a couple of months ago and deleted all my social media accounts and this one because I found it too hard to be on here. Are any of the original gang still around?

I'm 42 and have 17 month old twins concieved through IVF, and have just had a BFP from our second and last frozen embryo from that same IVF cycle. I'm completely terrified that it's not going to stick and could really use a handhold from some sympathetic fellow older wannabe mums xxx

lucieloos · 02/11/2020 16:48

Hi @SamoyedFan123 I remember you. We only chatted briefly but I think you used my local clinic in wales. So pleased that you got a bfp from your last fet. I got a completely unexpected natural bfp after deciding we couldn't afford anymore ivf. It will be our 3rd baby (first 2 ivf) but I'm 41 and also really terrified of how things might go. I'm 6+4 today and have an early scan booked for next Monday and my first midwife appointment next Wednesday. Happy to hand hold. There's also a thread on the pregnancy boards called 'old ovaries new lines' which is for us older ladies with bfps if you want to come and say hi.

SamoyedFan123 · 02/11/2020 17:09

Hey @lucieloos - yes I remember chatting to you 😊 congrats on your pregnancy - amazing to get a natural BFP after trying for so long and having IVF! I'm only 4+1 technically so huge potential for it all to go wrong still but I feel so shocked and grateful to have got this far after spending the last two months convincing myself that it would never happen again and trying to find ways to be ok with that.

I will look for the other thread xxx

Chatbash72 · 02/11/2020 18:52

@SamoyedFan123 congrats critter
That's fab news.. 💕💕💕💕

@SamoyedFan123, congratulations! It's such a rollercoaster, it's probably good to step away sometimes.
I'm nearly 12 weeks now, just waiting for the harmony test results.
@lucieloos, I may check out the thread you mentioned, it sounds appropriate!
@MaryShelley1819, hope you're doing well.

SamoyedFan123 · 06/11/2020 21:36

@Chatbash72 @ecostats thank you, and good luck with your harmony test results! 🤞🤞🤞That everything is fine for you @ecostats.

I'm stressed out as I'm getting brown spotting on and off. Clinic says not to worry about it and my tests are super dark positives now, and still getting darker so I'm just trying to remain positive. Had first beta HCG test yesterday which was great at 1300 ish so just have to hope that follow up test on Monday shows a good rise 🤞

ecostats · 06/11/2020 21:49

Thanks @SamoyedFan123. An HCG of 1300 sounds good, 🤞 for it doubling. Could the spotting be because of the progesterone support?

SamoyedFan123 · 07/11/2020 05:48

@ecostats I've got absolutely no idea what is causing the spotting - I've used the progesterone pessaries many times before and never had so much as a single spot (on failed or successful cycles) so it seems unlikely, but who knows?

Realitysucks · 08/11/2020 21:21

@SamoyedFan123 omg congratulations!!! I’m popping in and out still! My bubs is 7 months now! So pleased for you!! We are waiting till Jan to try again as I had a csection but thinking it’s never gonna happen like before.

Catconfusion · 09/11/2020 09:44

Lovely to see some pregnancies on here. Congratulations @SamoyedFan123

@Realitysucks I’m in exactly the same boat as you. DS is now 7 months and we’re going to start trying in January as I had a c section. I’m 41, 42 in June next year. Feeling quite anxious about trying again. I’ve just got my first AF but I had to stop breastfeeding to get it. Hoping to get back to normal for January. How are you feeling about trying again? Xx

Realitysucks · 09/11/2020 10:09

@Catconfusion Hi yeah I’m anxious too ! Even though I’m breastfeeding still my AF came back for my 6 week check, then skipped a month and now quite regular but unbelievably heavy for days 2 and 3. I will be 43 in Jan so just hoping it’s not the start of things to come!

Catconfusion · 09/11/2020 10:27

It so hard @Realitysucks dealing with the anxiety. We had a mmc at 10 weeks and then an early loss before DS. So scared of it happening again but thankfully we got pregnant quite easily despite my two monthly cycles. The statistics for our age are dire. I keep trying to be positive and seek comfort in the fact I’ve done it once before. Hoping we are both fine this time.

Such a good sign you got AF back and they’re coming regularly. Are you taking any supplement? Xx

Realitysucks · 09/11/2020 11:53

@Catconfusion I know it’s dire isn’t it. That’s my fear too we were lucky that I didn’t have any problems it just took us a year and 2 failed Ivf attempts once I stopped all the first and supplements it just happened. So No I’m not taking anything except breastfeeding supplements which are the same really.

Catconfusion · 09/11/2020 14:15

@Realitysucks great news you fell pregnant naturally and maybe now your body is geared up for going again. It must have been a super stressful year before dc came. My doctor said fertility is best soon after having a baby so you’re timing is as well as we can.

I fell pregnant the first time by accident on my honeymoon. I needed a surgery after the mc but then was pregnant again 3 weeks after that, it ended two weeks later. We had a load of tests done. The doctor thinks it was bad luck as no signs any age related issues. My second mc was likely due to being so close to the surgery. The next time we tried we conceived my son four months later. I’m just hoping we can fall pregnant quickly again. My biggest fear is more losses as it was really traumatic.

I guess anyone undertaking a pregnancy carries that risk. It’s just higher post 40. I’ve read it can be as much as 50%. Just hoping the clean bill of health the doctor gave me last year bodes well. My weight is an issue now as baby was huge. Just trying to stay positive and get to a normal bmi before we try. Xx
