Pregnancy after MMC

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I had a MMC on our second pregnancy last month. (I have a 1 year old)
I should of been 9 weeks at my Scan but baby was only 8 weeks 4 so it had just happened. 3 days later I had a private D&C as I didn’t want to risk the hospital/ the trauma of dealing with it at home with my little boy.
I had bleeding on and off for 2 weeks after (6th of April was the D&C) I had regular bloody tests, my last one my HCG had come down to 70 so 3 days later I got my first negative test.
I had an internal to confirm no retained pregnancy and was given the all clear to try again straight away. I’ve had cystitis this weekend to add to my problems and now I’m getting this on my tests. Had anyone experienced anything similar, what are your thoughts? Feel like my body’s just giving up on me haha! I’d love to be pregnant again but I’d just be surprised if it could all happen within such a small time scale

And yes that's how I felt. Still a little sad but mostly relief that the miscarriage is finally over and I can look forward knowing everything is as it was before 🙏

@MrsTtobe ahhh I’m sorry 😫 so rubbish. On the plus side Atleast your body has got everything okay and you can start fresh in a week. Try to keep positive. I think I’ll be joining you on the next month TTC. I think the one negative test I got 3 weeks after D&C must of been a fluke and those faint lines on the original post were left over hormones. I’ve had all negative tests since and the past two days cramping in one side. Just want to get it over and done with. We DTD every day days for 3 weeks to try not to miss ovulation so I’m thinking maybe I just didn’t ovulate this month (my doc said that was possible) hopefully it hurry’s up so I can join you on next month. Same as you also @Frankincense88

How many tests have you done lovely? I just can't allow myself to store them in the house because I know I would be like a woman possessed. 🤣

@Bells993 haha no pressure... cycle day 44 still no sign buy also no pregnancey symptoms... I am not feeling optimistic will wait untill end if next week then maybe call the doctor. I am starting to feel very fed up by it!! I just want to get back to TTC. Sorry all of the tests have been negative since.
Fingers crossed we get good news soon girls!!

Got everything crossed for you ladies. 🤞🏼CD9 here so going to start OPK testing tomorrow. Feels weird thinking that it's back to square 1 after not doing testing since the end of Jan. Enjoy the rest of your weekend - it looks like it's going to be a sunny day! Xx

@MrsTtobe hahaha no 🤣 just my 1 year old running me ragged 🤣 I’ve done too many tests! I need to stop buying them; it’s such a waste of money. I have a stash of them next to my toilet and I just do them for fun (Desperation) sometimes 😫😂 still no other symptoms and no spotting so I’ll try to wait a few more days and see what happens. I’m 6 weeks tomorrow now from my D&C with on and off bleeding the two weeks after so surely I’ll be due on next week. Just want to get it Over and done with so I can start fresh! Feel like my body’s just toying with me, sure you feel the same @Leaf87 still hope for you though 😍🤞

@Frankincense88 that's exactly how I feel. My first AF since Jan (other than miscarriage) and it's just that feeling of back to square one.
AF is heavier than normal too which is shit but expected as it's the first one since. 😔
Trying to focus on this time next week and dtd and actually feeling like we have something to focus on again.

@Leaf87 and @Bells993 praying for both of you. If not bfp then AF to arrive soon.

Hope you've all had a good weekend. Ive eaten too much and drank too much. As of tomorrow im going to do some exercise and eat well. Or at least better.😂

Wow girls - been such a busy day today so just catching up.

@MrsTtobe - think of it as even though AF has started you are still that one step closer to that BFP. Every day is a day you are getting closer to that....plus you can drink!! I was naughty yesterday and had a few blood orange G&T's - which I've decided is my new favourite drink :P

I did a PT this morning (my first one this cycle) and it was a negative so feeling bluh....trying to convince myself it is too early to test (AF is due on Saturday) but realistically I think I ovulated all over the place this cycle so not sure if we dtd at the right time. The past 6 days have been hell from work for me so have had no energy for any funny business :P

I have had to put the other "spare" tests in the downstairs cloakroom so that I'm not inclined to test earlier than Friday!! Eeeekkk - counting the days! Until then - is it ok to have my G&T ;)

@msanne finding it very hard not to do the test that is in my bathroom right now! I keep telling myself I will not test till Wednesday but I am getting twitchy! I just need to know either way its driving me mad. Have a G&T life has to have some normality!

@Leaf87 - did you get some of those cheapy test strips. I got some off ebay for a steal and they're working out well for when I do cave in (first time this morning). I wasted too many of the more expensive ones last time when I tested far too early!

I've got my G&T in hand - still working though. Killer week at work so will be burning the midnight oil for all the wrong reasons!

Im determined not to have any in the house because I know I will be trying constantly. Only going to test if I'm at least 3 days late in future.

Should be finishing this period today or tomorrow so will be ovulating soon 😬😬 I'm nervous and excited to get going again. X

@leaf87 second vote for the cheapy tests - I bought a 30 pack from Amazon for about a fiver as after my MMC I had to wait for a negative and didn't want to waste my expensive ones.

@MrsTtobe I'm also only going to test if I'm late from now on - I spent a sickening amount of money on tests last time for it to turn out badly anyway. Not making that mistake again! I've got a digital clearblue leftover and a Home Bargains one I think alongside my cheapies!

Morning ladies! @Frankincense88 @MrsTtobe I am hanging on till friday... i had period like grumbling last night so expected to wake up this morning to AF but nope nothing. It's hard as having to guess when I may have ovulated.I do not have any cheap tests any recommendations??
If Af shows up I think I will try tracking my ovulation next month as well so throw all your recommendations at me!

They're only £2 for 10 which is a bargain - but so far only showing negatives on it (i tested again this morning - boo)! I've been having awful cramping as well so was sure AF may be arriving early but just not sure. My mouth (specifically my toungue) also feels really odd, almost numb. But I can still taste everything so god knows what is happening!

The G&T was amazing - i must have another tonight methinks! I finished working about 8pm but have been on calls since 8am - the whole of this week is madness. Roll on the BHWE I say!

I'm also with you - I didn't use OPK this month - so if AF does arrive I will need to get some of them too. Did you ladies go for the cheaper OPK kits or for the Clearblue? Is there a difference?

@MrsTtobe Haha, it's going to be a busy week in this house😂 I wasn't expecting a flashing smiley for a few days as I don't usually ovulate until around day 16/17 and last time I used them I went straight from 'low fertility' to 'peak fertility' we DTD twice that weekend and that was when we conceived. So would def recommend them but we'll see what happens this month I guess!

Still no AF for me either. If I’m counting the day of D&C as my first day of my cycle I’m currently on day 44, 45 tomorrow. God knows what to expect, trying not to get excited that I haven’t had one yet but at the same time after the cramps I had the other day (which have gone now) I must be about to come on any minute. Feel like your body just knows when you play tricks on you doesn’t it

@Bells993i know its hard I am heading towards day 46/48 lost count. Still no sign but feel so bloated I think she is teasing me!!! Urge to test is sooo strong, maybe I will crack tomorrow.

I dont feel pregnant so not surprised. However I am desperate for my Af to return 7 weeks now... feeling annoyed

@Leaf87 try not to be too disheartened. Our bodies have been through a lot and therefore our cycles are understandably all over the place. For all you know you might have only just ovulated a few days ago or could be tomorrow, you just don't know so just keep dtd! You're not out yet x

@MrsTtobe I know, I wasnt expecting it to be positive. I just really want AF to show I am bloated and feel like she is around!! But you are right i have no idea when i ovulated so it's hard. I am still having a wine tonight tho!!

I really hope that you don't mind me joining you? I had to have a surgical termination of my 2nd pregnancy back in April as the 12 week scan showed that baby's skull hadn't formed properly and wasn't compatible with life 😢. Very, very shocked and sad, especially as we have a healthy 2 year old.

I really want to get pregnant again ASAP, but despite my DH and I doing the deed pretty much constantly since I stopped bleeding after the surgery, AF unexpectedly showed up today. Not feeling at all positive with everything, especially after reading that you can me very fertile after a termination. Just feel like I want to chat to others who have been in similar circumstances as I don't know anyone IRL who have been through this. Xx

Hi @newbiejourney I'm so sorry to hear that. That must have been very hard for you to go through.
Think we're all in the same boat regarding conceiving straight after miscarriage. I know personally I was hoping I was pregnant straight after as the internet seems full of people conceiving straight after. But it wasn't to be and my first AF arrived Friday. 😔 Its horrible but hoping we all get there eventually ❤
