Pregnancy after MMC

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I had a MMC on our second pregnancy last month. (I have a 1 year old)
I should of been 9 weeks at my Scan but baby was only 8 weeks 4 so it had just happened. 3 days later I had a private D&C as I didn’t want to risk the hospital/ the trauma of dealing with it at home with my little boy.
I had bleeding on and off for 2 weeks after (6th of April was the D&C) I had regular bloody tests, my last one my HCG had come down to 70 so 3 days later I got my first negative test.
I had an internal to confirm no retained pregnancy and was given the all clear to try again straight away. I’ve had cystitis this weekend to add to my problems and now I’m getting this on my tests. Had anyone experienced anything similar, what are your thoughts? Feel like my body’s just giving up on me haha! I’d love to be pregnant again but I’d just be surprised if it could all happen within such a small time scale
Thanks everyone

CD17 for me and waiting anxiously! I don't know how I will manage the next 2 weeks as I am symptom spotting constantly! I did some Joe Wicks exercising this morning - which probably wasn't the best thing, but trying to keep myself busy! Even if it means the dreaded exercise!

MrsTtobe · 12/05/2020 18:47

@msanne I know the days seem so long don't they at the minute being in lockdown. Right I've been to Asda and ive brought a test. If I've not come on by Fri then going to be brave and just test just so I can get on with some normality and know that AF will be on the way soon. That will be CD 38.
What symptoms you having lovely? Ive had very tender boobs and really bad skin but that's about it. Also had ewcm about 2 weeks ago.

msanne · 12/05/2020 20:31

@MrsTtobe - I am with you! i have my fingers and toes crossed for you and Friday is only a few sleeps away! I already went and bought some Clearblue tests (a bit pre-emptive I know) - but mainly cos I want to make sure my HCG levels are going up and it gives you the weeks indicator...

With my last pregnancy, the first telltale sign that something was wrong with the baby was because my HCG levels were not rising enough...which is surprising as I felt the worst out of all 3 of my pregnancies with my last one!

In terms of symptoms now - I am actually feeling pretty good _ i honestly am putting it down to the supplements I've been taking (Seven seas Cod liver oil plus multivitamins, EPO, and Folate). My energy levels are defintley up, but i'm not sleeping well (restless/worried about work/home schooling/new pregnancy etc). My boobs keeping getting like random really painful twangs, some random odd tastes in my mouth and my lower stomach does feel crampy. In terms of CM, it was pretty Egg whitey the last few days but seems to have a almost yellowy/brown tinge now (sorry TMI). slightly worried I jumped around too much this morning and may have caused the beginnings of another AF....but I'm probably symptom spotting...help!!

How I wish I could just drink a big glass of wine right now!!

xoxo

CD40 over here..... no signs of anything what's so ever. In my mind I have decided my AF should show up next week! If not will do a test after that and maybe call the Dr as its dragging on now!
@MrsTtobe @msanne all very exciting fingers crossed for you both

MrsTtobe · 13/05/2020 06:51

Morning ladies, @msanne yes that's how I would describe my boobs, like painful twangs! 😔 And ive woke up this morning feeling a little crampy 😔 so got a feeling AF on the way.
When did you say your AF was due? Was it end of May? And I caved at the weekend, I had a couple of small ish pink gins but felt terrible after. 😔

@Leaf87 you're a few days ahead of me then lovely. It's so frustrating isn't it. Im hating my body at the minute for not doing what it should. For the miscarriage, for no AF yet...🙄
Did you say if you've done pg test recently? How long ago was your negative one again? X

msanne · 13/05/2020 07:23

@Leaf87 - time will tell. I think I may be being a bit presumptious being all ready to test when I have only had one cycle....but we shall see!

@MrsTtobe - I am due AF on the 23rd so still got 10 days and counting!
I checked my CM this morning and the EW has gone. So if I have ovulated it is over now. the wait now begins....

Whilst checking this morning though I found a big lump inside me (seems to have appeared overnight) so will need to now call the Dr about that and get it checked out.

MrsTtobe · 13/05/2020 07:27

@msanne what do you mean? A big lump? Where? Hope you're ok. Im sure it's nothing, this ttc life causes all kinds of anxiety. Xx

needanewusernameplz · 13/05/2020 07:34

So sorry you lost your baby, OP. Xx

We had a similar issue a few years ago, where we had a miscarriage and it was very early, at 6 weeks and the doctor gave us the all clear same as you because medically, it should have all been possible.

It might have been caused for a million possible reasons but we had another early miscarriage. My instincts said it was too soon to try again so we decided to leave it and wait.

Not saying thats what you should consider but there is a lot to be said about taking time to emotionally recover and not to put too much pressure on yourself.

Best of luck, wish you every success on this journey!! Xx

msanne · 13/05/2020 07:51

@MrsTtobe - when I was checking for CM this morning, I noticed a large cyst-like lump inside of my vagina. I'm sure it wasn't there before as I have been checking myself regularly for CM.

Going to call the DR this morning - but hoping it's just a cyst or something....xx

MrsTtobe · 13/05/2020 08:04

@msanne hope you're ok. Yes im sure it's nothing to worry about. Let us know how you get on. 😊

msanne · 13/05/2020 14:30

Hi Ladies,

Been to the Dr's - she had a look and basically said that it looks like harmless tissue (polyp or cyst). Apparently it is normal "scarring" that is caused post-childbirth or fluctuations in hormones....just need to keep an eye on it.

Hope you're all having a good day xoxo

Frankincense88 · 13/05/2020 14:32

@msanne phew! What a relief. So pleased all is ok x

msanne · 13/05/2020 14:38

@Frankincense88 ((((((big hug)))))))

Leaf87 · 13/05/2020 18:23

@msanne that is good news! Glad everything was ok Flowers

MrsTtobe · 13/05/2020 19:11

Hey @msanne glad all is ok. Our bodies are worrying things but good on you for knowing and checking your own body. I dont think I would know what's supposed to be in there or not. 🙈😂

CD36 still no AF. Woke up a bit crampy this morning but wore off now. I read today that natural miscarriages can cause more of a delay than a D&C and the average time to ovulate after a natural miscarriage is about 29 days and first period to come around CD43 is average so looks like I could be waiting another week or 2 😭

msanne · 14/05/2020 10:36

Thank you @Leaf87. I cannot tell you - at the moment it is like one thing after another - I need to catch a break already!

@MrsTtobe - I think that is right too. It makes sense as your body is on its own clock. But then in saying that - each body is unique so listen to your own body. I know we are all overdosing on symptom spotting but I cannot believe how far I have personally come since suffering this termination. I am so much more clued up now on my body - things I took for granted in my first two pregnancies. The other thing I have learnt is to trust my gut. You always know what is best!

Sending you lots of hugs and love. 2 weeks is going to swing by and we are all here for your venting!!

xoxo

MrsTtobe · 15/05/2020 10:57

@msanne totally agree about trusting your gut. I knew 100% I was having a miscarriage even though everyone tried to reassure me. Even at my 8 week scan I had a bad feeling. Even though everything was fine for another 3 weeks after that. I just had a funny feeling from the start. Strange!

Right... a bit of drama. CD 38 - still no AF. I caved this morning and did a test. It was a CB one. And guess what. I peed in a cup, dipped for exactly 5 seconds. Left it 3 minutes and it was completely blank. No line in the control window. Nothing. I followed the instructions exactly. 🙄 What a waste of money. So now im going to give it till Mon/Tues and try again. 🙈 Feel like it's a sign I shouldn't be checking yet. 😂
Pissed off!! Happy Friday everyone xx

Leaf87 · 15/05/2020 13:51

@MrsTtobe that's rubbish very annoying! Leave it till next week then test... I am still have no sign of AF. I keep waking up at 4.30 for a wee... trying not to focus on it...

@msanne going with your gut 100% I said to my mum 5 weeks in before any bleeding scan anything ' I dont know mum I just dont feel pregnant, i think there is something amiss ' so maybe you do know!

msanne · 15/05/2020 14:23

@MrsTtobe - that sucks hun. These tests are expensive and when they don't work it makes it even more frustrating! I have ordered some cheap tests off ebay and am going to use them in the first instance followed up by Clearblue if and when I am "confirmed".

I am trying really hard to keep all the negative thoughts out of my head but it is so difficult isn't it?! When something happens to you that you thought never could, it bring a massive reality check and every possible outcome seems so much more "real". But in the same instance if such bad luck can happen then the opposite is also true - so wishing all of us good luck!

@Leaf87 - it is totally normal that you are feeling stressed about AF - i really hope your body resets itself soon. Are you due to go back to the Dr at some point if it doesn't resume?

I am holding out on testing at all as not sure if AF is coming for me (have all my PMS symptoms but on steroids atm). I am on cycle day 21 now and waiting patiently.....praying that I develop some patience as it has never been one of my virtues!! xoxo

Leaf87 · 15/05/2020 18:06

@msanne I was seen at the hospital 3 weeks ago and signed off. I may resort to testing soon, as I really want a glass of wine with dinner! I think I ovulated around the 4/5 may so may be a touch early. However this is all guess work!! I have had PMS symptoms (maybe Confused) I think like we have said isolation makes all feeling worse including PMS

Everyone keep there chin up, it's the weekend and I think it should also be sunny again. Sending you all positive vibes Smile

Frankincense88 · 15/05/2020 19:02

@Leaf87 cheers to the weekend! 🥂

Next week is fertile week for me (all being well.) CD 7 today. Got my CB OPK and bought some pre-seed after reading a thread on here about it. Has anyone used it? X

MrsTtobe · 15/05/2020 19:27

AF has arrived ladies! 😭😭😭 Im relieved in a way as at least I know everything is back to normal and working as it should. But it's never great to come on is it! 😔 So here we go officially with ttc... yet again!!🙄
On the plus side I'm planning on having a massive red wine with my dinner. Lots of coffee for breakfast and maybe even some pate and soft cheese just because I can. 😬🤣

Fingers crossed for you all. 🙏

@Leaf87 have you got a date in mind when you will test?

@Frankincense88 how exciting. Keep your energy up for next week then. 🤣 I've heard about pre seed but no idea what it is? Is it lube? We use baby oil 🙈 conceived our dd and then got pregnant after 4 months of trying but ive heard it can slow swimmers down so it worries me! 🤣

Happy weekend x

Frankincense88 · 15/05/2020 19:33

@MrsTtobe it's always disappointing when AF arrives but at least you know where you are in your cycle now and know that everything is in good working order.

Yeah pre-seed is a lube that mimics CM and I read that loads of people on here have had success with it so thought I'd give it a go. Nothing to lose, right? Although like everything, I guess results differ from person to person.

Cheers to the red wine - prosecco going down nicely here! 🥂🍷

Noti23 · 15/05/2020 19:34

I got pregnant with my beautiful boy a month after my MMC (9 wks). Good luck, op. Sometimes these things just happen but let yourself hurt and then look forward. I felt absolutely crushed after my mmc and it affected the way I felt about the pregnancy after (guilt and resentment, even feeling like I wanted the 1st baby). It all disappeared when I felt ds kick for the first time though. Let yourself grieve and be kind to yourself. Most importantly, let it go when you feel the time is right and don’t cling on to negative feelings out of guilt x

Leaf87 · 15/05/2020 19:39

@MrsTtobe I reckon I should be due Tuesday(ish) it's my birthday that day so I wouldn't be surprised if it shows up Hmm. I am pretty sure I wont be pregnant and I am ok with that but would like to get AF so we know where we are.
@Frankincense88 worth giving it a go! Nothing really to loose and everything to gain I have heard positive things about it tho! Fingers crossed you catch this cycle then we will all be racing to get some 🤣
