Hello Ladies.

I’m mid 30s ttc my first. I was on the depo before, I know that causes issues to fertility and it will take longer. It was three months before my periods came back but I’ve been regular as clockwork since. Fairly certain I’m ovulating (lot of signs pointing to it) but still no baby. Im due again in the next couple of days and I can tell I’m going to come on.

I tried with my ex a few years ago for 7/8 months (although it was a very half hearted and not really a surprise it didn’t happen.) I wanted a baby for different reasons back then and got very upset every month. I was determined not to get as upset and try be more relaxed with my new partner but I’m starting to find it hard.

How do you cope with the disappointment of another failed cycle?

@curbsideprophet thanks for the reply! How long have you been trying for?
Only started using the ovulation tests last month just to double check I was ovulating when I thought I was . I also get the cm and painful ovulation so can usually tell when it’s happening ....
Am on day 9 of my cycle this month so will currently DTD every other day , will change to every day around 14-16 . Fingers crossed for us both x

CurbsideProphet · 11/05/2020 07:45

@Bree2212 this is cycle 6 for me. I've had 2 chemical pregnancies, so my body does sort of know what it's supposed to do...

Twinkletoes85 · 11/05/2020 10:18

@Bree2212 I see what you mean so it’s not been a continuous two years of trying as you’ve had months where you were unable to dtd. Gallstones are not pleasant, are you ok now?

The plus side of agnus castus from what I’ve read is it helps pms too, so I figured it’ll hopefully help to catch on but also help my pms if it doesn’t happen 😂

Thanks @CurbsideProphet - that sounds like a good option. I'm in London so I imagine there should be something similar around here!
Good luck with your BD this month, and enjoy Smile

Hi @Bree2212! Sorry to hear about your gallstones but good luck for this cycle!
Apart from the Seven Sea vitamins, I take Evening Primose Oil (which has improved CM production) and Iodine (because my thyroid level is just within the normal range). Will be looking into Agnus Castus too, because I get pretty bad PMS, and CoQ10 that I saw mentioned on another thread. Although I don't want to become a walking pillbox hehe

@Twinkletoes85 how are you doing? You must be coming up to test time soon? Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Twinkletoes85 · 11/05/2020 12:45

@beachbum85 still no af. I might test tomorrow but to be honest I’m so nervous!

How are you today?

OP posts:
Lindsey02 · 11/05/2020 12:54

Afternoon all

Hope you are all ok? Any news from anyone?

I’m currently cd20 and I feel pretty crap, possibly a bug. I constantly feel sick but not actually sick, got shooting pains in my arms and back ache. Pains in my boobs but like indigestion pain and an upset stomach 👎.

Twinkletoes85 · 11/05/2020 13:26

Hi @lindsey02 oh that doesn’t sound fun at all! I hope you’re feeling better soon x

OP posts:
Bree2212 · 11/05/2020 13:51

@CurbsideProphet sorry to hear that! But you are right , your body knows what to do and will do it again! I have everything crossed for you x

@twinkletoes85 definitely going to look into the Agnus castus then ... my pmt has been awful lately ! Don’t know if it’s the covid situation or what .... starting to feel sorry for my other half Grin . Gallstones are much better now thanks , only the odd flare up. Still waiting on the gallbladder removal op, was due to have it done then it got cancelled last minute because of covid. I have read a few people with gallstones on here struggled to catch and then caught as soon as they had their removed . Not sure if it’s just coincidence or what? when is your af due?

@beachbum85 I’ve seen a lot about COQ10 and also DHA so think I’m going to start off with those 2...

beachbum85 · 11/05/2020 14:10

@Twinkletoes85 Keep us posted!
I can totally understand your nerves! I was really jittery until I tested yesterday, even though I kept telling myself that it should be no different than waiting for AF.... didn't work! I'm OK today, just wishing that AF would hurry up and show up now so we can get started on a new cycle.

Ugh, sorry to hear @Lindsey02 - hope you feel better soon!

@Bree2212 I'll add DHA to my list of things to look up, as I hadn't heard of that yet. Sounds like TTC will keep getting more expensive Hmm

Fingers crossed for everyone! x

Twinkletoes85 · 11/05/2020 14:17

@beachbum85 I will keep my fingers crossed for you for the next cycle!

@Bree2212 I wonder if it’s just the body being able to focus on the baby making instead of looking after the gallbladder? Hopefully if it doesn’t happen before you can have it removed then it will be not long after! I’m between two and four days late, I’ve been 26 days but one month went 30.

@twinkletoes85 so sorry to hear that ... worst feeling ever isn’t it Sad

beachbum85 · 11/05/2020 14:42

Ohhh I'm sorry to hear that @Twinkletoes85 Sad
Sending you a virtual hug x

Twinkletoes85 · 11/05/2020 14:43

@Bree2212 yeah it’s pretty rubbish. I’d tried not to get my hopes up anyway but it’s still disappointing

OP posts:
Twinkletoes85 · 11/05/2020 14:45

@beachbum85 thank you, just wait for af and then onto the next month!

OP posts:
beachbum85 · 11/05/2020 14:52

Definitely! It will always be disappointing, but let's keep hopeful that next month will be our month

Twinkletoes85 · 11/05/2020 18:32

@beachbum85 yes you’re right, pick ourselves up and try again 😊

Fifol · 11/05/2020 21:00

Aw @Twinkletoes85 sorry to hear that

What is agnus castus actually for girls? I don't take anything like that but would be definitely open to trying

Cha0907 · 11/05/2020 23:37

Hi ladies. Hope it’s ok to jump on. Haven’t posted for a while as tried to take the while ‘just don’t think about it and it will happen’ approach and stopped using OPKs but lockdown has given me some free time and all I’ve done is constantly think about having a baby so back on the opks and overthink every niggle and twitch I feel 😭 ovulated on 6th May and AF due next week. Just need to speak with people in the same boot 😂

Twinkletoes85 · 12/05/2020 09:13

@Fifol that’s what the box says! I’ve seen it mentioned quite a few times so thought I’d give it a try.

Hi @Cha0907 I’ve been trying that approach, I’ve not been able to stop thinking about it 😂

How long have you been trying for?

OP posts:
PinkFlamingoGirl · 12/05/2020 09:17

Hi @twinkltoes

I have been reading this thread as I feel in a very similar boat. TTC baby #1 and on cycle 6. 9DPO.

Can I ask, do you take any conception vitamins along with the Angus cactus? I might try this next cycle, is it for lengthening LP ?

You can I'm not very optimistic this cycle. Well secretly I am but I don't say that out loud because then that makes the BFN or when AF comes even more disappointing!

I have my fingers crossed for all xx

Fifol · 12/05/2020 09:32

Thanks @Twinkletoes85 very interesting I get awful cramps so worth a shot!

Nat4392 · 12/05/2020 09:33

I’ve taken Agnus Castus for the first time this cycle (although just one a day rather than 2 and only up until ovulation) and I’ve ovulated 2 days later than usual, still in my LP (8DPO) so we’ll see if it has made a difference!

Cha0907 · 12/05/2020 09:33

@Twinkletoes85 it’s so hard 😭 this is 5th cycle actively trying. How long have you been trying?

Never heard of Angus cactus will need to looking in to this!

@PinkFlamingoGirl I have only been taking folic acid on its own x
