Hello Ladies.

I’m mid 30s ttc my first. I was on the depo before, I know that causes issues to fertility and it will take longer. It was three months before my periods came back but I’ve been regular as clockwork since. Fairly certain I’m ovulating (lot of signs pointing to it) but still no baby. Im due again in the next couple of days and I can tell I’m going to come on.

I tried with my ex a few years ago for 7/8 months (although it was a very half hearted and not really a surprise it didn’t happen.) I wanted a baby for different reasons back then and got very upset every month. I was determined not to get as upset and try be more relaxed with my new partner but I’m starting to find it hard.

How do you cope with the disappointment of another failed cycle?

@PinkFlamingoGirl welcome 😊

I’ve not started with it yet, waiting for af to arrive and I’ll start it then. I don’t know exactly how it works if I’m totally honest. Just seen good reviews.

Good luck and fingers crossed for this cycle! X

@Fifol worth a try!

@Nat4392 you’ll have to let us know if you see w difference from taking it. Good luck x

@Nat4392 yeah definitely let us know! And best of luck!

Fifol · 12/05/2020 09:52

@PinkFlamingoGirl I take Pregnacare which has folic acid and some other vitamins, don't think it helps with anything but more for general health

PinkFlamingoGirl · 12/05/2020 09:57

I also take pregnacare. Yeah I've heard good things about Angus Cactus as well. Not sure what it does exactly either but apparently good things lol. I think I'll try it next cycle too.

Lindsey02 · 12/05/2020 11:07

Morning all hope you are all ok?

CD 21 for me today and already wondering if AF will come this month. Anybody else hoping to test soon? Star

Kitttycatt · 12/05/2020 11:08

Hello all,
Can I join please as I can relate to all of your messages. I am 35 and this will be my 8th cycle ttc baby no 1. I went to my GP back in March who sent me for blood tests that all came back normal. I was also referred to the fertility clinic but my appointment was cancelled due to the current crisis. I had a miscarriage back in Dec 18 at 6.5 weeks - before I had started trying. I began trying last Oct after my wedding and since then nothing.

Trying to keep my hopes up but it's hard. Started the SMEP last month and I'm going to try Agnus Castus this month, should be arriving today. I've either heard good things or that it can really lengthen your cycle... willing to give it a go though!

Wishing everyone lots of luck xx

KK251289 · 12/05/2020 11:18

@beachbum85 Same boat as you! Been trying since October and nothing 😔😔. So frustrating, especially the week before you're due on wondering if every symptom is pregnancy or period pain! Good Luck this month everyone x

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/05/2020 11:39

Hi, all sounds very similar to me. 34 and been trying 8 months now. Due on on Sunday and have my usual period symptoms but who knows?! I do ovulate early (day 10 on a 24 day cycle) but get the occasional 26 day cycle so hoping when one of them come along I'll ovulate later and have a better chance. Have also started taking agnus cactus to see if that does anything to make me ovulate later. Have started them already as I just know I'm coming on.

beachbum85 · 12/05/2020 12:02

Hi everyone, nice to have you on the chat! @Kitttycatt I'm so sorry about your past MC

So many similarities here:
I went to my GP in Feb, took first blood tests which came back with mildly elevated thyroid values, and I should take a seocnd reading in July. But my transvaginal ultrasound was cancelled due to COVID...
Tried SMEP last month too
I ovulate around day 10 too - hadn't realised agnus cactus could help ovulate later

After a week of symptom spotting with practically no symptoms, I'm waiting impatiently for AF to arrive (supposedly tomorrow) we can start again

Very best of luck to all and keep us updated!

KK251289 · 12/05/2020 12:11

It's just gets to the point when you have every symptom of AF and you just want it to hurry up and arrive for the next attempt!

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/05/2020 12:20

@beachbum85 hello, I'm not sure if it does help you to ovulate later or not as only just started on them but I hope it does. I'm more taking them to help with my crazy pms symptoms tbh! Will let you know how I get on though. I've also heard coq10 is good for egg quality but not sure if it helps to ovulate later or not. I'm willing to try anything at the mo tho as maturer eggs fertilise easier (or so I've heard). Mind field right!

Kitttycatt · 12/05/2020 12:23

@beachbum85 We are very similar. I was pleased my GP was willing to get things rolling straight away, hoping my appointment will be rearranged in the next couple of months.

I know the last couple of days before AF arrives are the worst, it really effects my mood! I'm starting the SMEP again on Friday :)

Twinkletoes85 · 12/05/2020 12:49

Hi ladies, welcome to the chat!

@kitttycatt I’m very sorry to hear about your mc. Let us know how the agnus works for you and if it’s any use. It’s positive that your blood tests were normal, this virus has been really frustrating for a lot of ladies on this thread in terms of cancelling appointments. Hopefully this free time will help us all!

@notyetamumbuttrying Fingers crossed the agnus helps with your pms, I know how you feel about being willing to try anything. It’s hard to try pick the right thing! How are you tracking your ovulation?

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 12/05/2020 13:02

@Twinkletoes85 thanks for the welcome! I use CB digital ovulation sticks and the Flo app and it's pretty spot on as tend to get the smiley the day before the app predicts. My worry is the whole early ovulation/immature egg situ. Although I've heard other women still be successful so suppose I just gotta keep trying n trying 😫

Twinkletoes85 · 12/05/2020 13:09

@notyetamumbuttrying I use Flo too (only the free version) I’ve only been using cm to check and it seems flo is usually accurate. Glad to know it is! I’ve been considering signing up to ovusense and trying that out as it’s supposed to be really accurate for predicting ovulation.

I understand your concern, I don’t know much about potentially immature eggs I’m afraid. Yes all you can do especially in current situation is keep trying but it can be so frustrating can’t it? I’ll cross my fingers for you x

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 12/05/2020 13:21

@Twinkletoes85 yeah same with the free version. Have you seen the secret chats section in the back? I love it lol!
Oh ttc is the most frustrating thing I've ever had to do tbh!! I have the 12 month mark spurring me on as then we can go for all the tests etc. But also hope it doesn't get to that point. Thanks and I'll cross my fingers for you too! Smile

Twinkletoes85 · 12/05/2020 14:29

@notyetamumbuttrying yes the secret chat bit is fab!
I agree with it being the most frustrating thing. I like to have a plan for things and this is just something you have very little control over. Drives me bonkers!

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 12/05/2020 14:33

@Twinkletoes85 ditto!

Bree2212 · 12/05/2020 15:10

Hi all- could anyone give me a bit more info on the immature egg situation? Have done some research but not 100%. When you all say you want to ovulate later .... I usually ovulate on day 14-15. Is this good? Thanks in advance x

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/05/2020 15:18

@Bree2212 definitely good! Ideal I would say as you prob have an average cycle of 28 days too. It's only a concern if you ovulate before day 11 and after day 22, so nothing to worry about! Wink

Nat4392 · 12/05/2020 15:18

@Bree2212 day 14-15 is absolutely normal so don’t worry. I think less than 10 days is considered abnormal as the egg hasn’t had long enough to mature before being released

Bree2212 · 12/05/2020 15:35

@notyetamumbuttrying @nat4392 thanks both .... yeah my cycle is usually 28/29 days so I ovulate half way through ....

Day 12 of this months cycle for me ... so should be ovulating in the next couple
Of days x

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/05/2020 17:19

@Bree2212 best of luck! Get some practice in now too if you can Wink

PinkFlamingoGirl · 13/05/2020 08:00

I think I'm out this month ☹️ 10dpo today and some brown cm when I wipe. Normally my LP is only around 12 days so I think that's the start of AF coming. I've read a lot about implantation bleeding and as much as I really want it to be that, I think it's pretty uncommon so I want to be real with myself. Also I don't have any other symptoms. Feel really down. I know there are a lot of people who have been trying a lot longer but it feels like forever to me and I can't help feeling so disappointed. I know you guys know what I mean.

I will try and have a word with myself and stay positive for next cycle.

Twinkletoes85 · 13/05/2020 08:17

@PinkFlamingoGirl sorry to hear af is on the way. I don’t think it matters how long you’ve been trying as soon as you decide you are it’s hard not to be disappointed when it doesn’t happen.

I’m a big believer that you have to allow yourself a bit of time to be sad about something, so take an hour or a morning or a day whatever you need after that all we can do is focus on the next month and try again. Xx
