Hello Ladies.

I’m mid 30s ttc my first. I was on the depo before, I know that causes issues to fertility and it will take longer. It was three months before my periods came back but I’ve been regular as clockwork since. Fairly certain I’m ovulating (lot of signs pointing to it) but still no baby. Im due again in the next couple of days and I can tell I’m going to come on.

I tried with my ex a few years ago for 7/8 months (although it was a very half hearted and not really a surprise it didn’t happen.) I wanted a baby for different reasons back then and got very upset every month. I was determined not to get as upset and try be more relaxed with my new partner but I’m starting to find it hard.

How do you cope with the disappointment of another failed cycle?

@posy1 yes, it's very intense. We've been trying for a year although we missed some due to illness, being away and I think we've missed some by not really fully understanding the ttc ins and outs. The free smep book was interesting. We've just finished the 3 days in a row and had to go morning, morning, night to leave a longer rest time for round 3! Tomorrow is rest day and then we've 1 more. It seems like the fw has extended hugely. I don't think we could do it month after month though 🤣🤣

Hoping41 · 02/06/2020 20:52

@fez148 smep is the sperm meets egg plan. It has a free ebook you can get on Amazon or there's tons on Google. It just lets you know when to dtd. It's quite intense though, it's not for a stressful month!

Hoping41 · 02/06/2020 20:56

@kitttcatt sounds like you have a really helpful dr there. I'm glad they're being proactive for you. I just need my oh to get his second sperm test then we'll be referred too. Can't say oh is too excited though!

Fifol · 02/06/2020 21:04

@posy1 fingers crossed!

jessmcg · 02/06/2020 22:16

Wow everyone has been busy today! Loving this thread!
@Hoping41 we did SMEP this month for the first time too! We don’t DTD super regularly all the time so we definitely felt we were upping our game this month. Let’s see if it works! Not feeling hugely hopeful to be honest as have felt like crap all week but in a pretty AF way.
@Fifol Thinking of you! Are you sure they’re AF cramps though? I’ve been a bit crampy the past couple of days, think I’m out too, but trying to stay positive just because I really want to try not be too down in the dumps. Although I know the minute AF comes I’ll be a total misery for 48 hours or so whilst I get over the fact I’ll be moving into my 10th cycle of TTC!

jaxs23 · 02/06/2020 22:20

@PinkFlamingoGirl @Fifol @kitttycatt thank you.
I am 13 DPO today. Got my BFP yesterday at 12 dpo. Fingers crossed it sticks.

@jax23 ahhhh congratulations xx

Cha0907 · 02/06/2020 23:07

Hi all

Hope everyone is good. Just catching up but seems like I’ve missed a lot. Was so busy with work last week and have tried to make the most of the good weather over the weekend as I am in holiday this week.

Took an ovulation test on Sunday and there was nothing but got my static smiley today. I feel like this cycle is flying in and I’m hoping that because I haven’t been so focused on it this month that it might go a bit better 🤞🏻 The comment from earlier in the thread saying that each month that passes means you are closer to your BFP Has really stuck with me... positive mental attitude and all that 😊

notyetamumbuttrying · 02/06/2020 23:13

Good to hear @Cha0907 wishing you all the best for this month!! 😊
Think I congratulated you on another thread @jaxs23 but congrats again 🥳

KK251289 · 03/06/2020 00:14

@jaxs23 massive congratulations so happy for you Smile

jessmcg · 03/06/2020 05:59

@jaxs23 so happy for you! Big congrats. Hope that this sticks for you. 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Just took a test at 11DPO and it’s a BFN. Of course it is. So bloody bored of TTC now and so let down by the whole process, which is just meant to be so lovely and bring us all so much joy - whoever said that TTC was fun LIED I tell you. They lied!

Tilly1403 · 03/06/2020 06:54

@jaxs23 big congratulations to you! I really hope it sticks for you.

@jessmcg I hear ya! I'm feeling exactly the same this month. Absolutely focussed, doing everything 'right', and still nothing. It makes me want to say 'fine, screw you then, of this isn't meant to be happen I won't bother!', but then the best month comes around and it starts again. The people that think TTC is fun maybe need a bit of perspective about what the word means!

Aokbaby · 03/06/2020 07:11

Hey everyone so my bbt dipped back to control this morning, 36.4 and af is here with a vengeance, so disappointed as I really thought it was our month-everything done right and still didn't happen!! Gutted x

jessmcg · 03/06/2020 07:14

@Aokbaby I absolutely feel you and sending you ❤️. This whole journey is incredibly frustrating at times and really gutting. Take care of yourself and be kind to yourself. A new cycle and a new opportunity lies ahead for you xx

Aokbaby · 03/06/2020 07:23

@jessmcg thanks so much, think I'm not going to track this upcoming cycle, maybe just my bbt, Def not opks as I just felt disappointed each time I used them weirdly. Really gonna try and stay positive like the other ladies have said, a failed cycle just means you're one step.closer to bfp xx

PinkFlamingoGirl · 03/06/2020 08:10

Morning everyone,

@jaxs23 eeeeeek sooooo happy for you! Congrats!! How are you feeling?

Re the whole DTD chat, hubby and I have been together 10 years this year and are still active in that department however I must be honest and say that it has definitely ramped up since we started TTC and that's basically because I've been more up for it when before I could take it or leave it lol. Everyone is different though and it doesn't matter if you DTD 7 days in a row or once as it only takes one. We have been lucky working from home so feel like we have a bit more time than in real working life.

I've enjoyed reading about all the supplements! Didn't know about them although they are mentioned in the book. How is everyone getting on with the book? I am also scared to take anything other than my pregnacare incase it mucks up my cycle which still isn't back to normal I don't think. Although I wouldn't know because I was on contraception for about 14 years!!

I'm now 2dpo and the wait begins. I had a dream two nights ago that I got those two pink lines. I hope it was a premonition and not some cruel joke lol.

@jessmcg sorry about bfn and @aokbaby I'm sorry about AF ☹️ hope you are both ok.

Fifol · 03/06/2020 08:24

@jaxs23 amazing news congrats! Keep us posted on how you're getting on

@jessmcg sorry about the bfn. Not sure if AF cramps they actually subsided after a while last night. My boobs are still sore and my temp hasn't dropped this morning but AF could still come. I haven't done the temps before this month either so I dont even know what I'm looking for other than it's meant to drop before af!

@Aokbaby sorry about af coming. Look after yourself

Twinkletoes85 · 03/06/2020 08:25

@jaxs23 congratulations!! I love seeing positive tests on here 😊

@jessmcg I’m sorry for the bfn it doesn’t get any easier to see

@Aokbaby sorry af has arrived! I’m due in 5 days and I was starving yesterday and bit upset stomach today which is a pretty good sign af is planning on arriving. I didn’t really have much hope for this cycle anyway.

@pinkflamingogirl oh I hope that was a premonition and this is your month!! Fingers are very tightly crossed for you

@PinkFlamingoGirl and @Cha0907 all the best for the tww. Fingers crossed this is your time!

jessmcg · 03/06/2020 08:38

Thanks everyone for your messages. I’m really pleased that I’ve put myself out of my misery this month as I think the waiting would have killed me. Better to just know! Sometimes I prefer to wait, but this month wasn’t one of those months. Onwards and upwards! Going to book in for some tests for me and OH today.

Wishing all those in their 2WW lots of luck! Have my fingers crossed for you all xx

Hoping41 · 03/06/2020 08:44

Sorry to hear about ther bfn/af arrivals. I totally agree, in a month in which you've done everything right, it's even harder to deal with. I'm just everything the tww so I'm going to head out and buy Sesame and sunflower seeds after reading about seed cycling. I feel like I need something to focus on and feel in control of.

Twinkletoes85 · 03/06/2020 08:47

@Hoping41 what’s seed cycling?

KK251289 · 03/06/2020 09:07

@jessmcg I'm so sorry about the BFN, I know it's horrible, I did the same early last week and I know it feels awful, I felt like I wanted to give up. Take care if yourself over the next few days.

@Aokbaby I'm sorry about AF showing up. Onwards and upwards for this month, keep going.

MummyOfZog · 03/06/2020 09:27

@jaxs23 - massive congratulations! How exciting!

@jessmcg - I'm the same. I know a lot of people prefer to wait for AF but I find I'm so impatient i'd rather test and see a BFN than keep hoping and convincing myself I'm pregnant whilst I wait for AF. It's such a mind f*ck this ttc stuff, I swear. I try to tell myself I'm staying relaxed about it all but its so hard to when I'm having to pee on a stick every day for an OPK for my Clearblue fertility monitor, or take temps. Meh.

As for me.... I'm on day 15 of my cycle. Have been getting "highs" on my monitor for the past 4 days so hoping my "peak" will arrive over the weekend (I always get quite a few highs before my peak!). In the past week 1 friend, my SiL and a close work colleague announced they are pregnant and whilst I'm thrilled for them, I'm finding it a bit tough.

Keep on keeping on and all that!

Hoping41 · 03/06/2020 09:47

@twinkletoes85 it's about eating 4 different seeds - 2 in the first phase to increase estrogen and 2 in the second phase to increase progesterone. I'm just entering the tww so I'll go and but the sunflower and sesame. There's lots of discussion on them being ground to release the oils. I think you take between a teaspoon and tablespoon daily.
