Hello Ladies.

I’m mid 30s ttc my first. I was on the depo before, I know that causes issues to fertility and it will take longer. It was three months before my periods came back but I’ve been regular as clockwork since. Fairly certain I’m ovulating (lot of signs pointing to it) but still no baby. Im due again in the next couple of days and I can tell I’m going to come on.

I tried with my ex a few years ago for 7/8 months (although it was a very half hearted and not really a surprise it didn’t happen.) I wanted a baby for different reasons back then and got very upset every month. I was determined not to get as upset and try be more relaxed with my new partner but I’m starting to find it hard.

How do you cope with the disappointment of another failed cycle?

@fifol @notyetamumbuttrying glad it’s not just me. It’s not that I don’t feel ready but you’re right the days of spontaneity and just being lazy all day will be long over.

I’m sorry Covid has halted your search, it sounds like the property market will be moving again soon so fingers crossed will you find something and be all moved in in time for a baby to arrive!

@Aokbaby Hello! So glad to have another person in the same boat. Do you ever get mid cycle spotting? Otherwise could be implantation bleeding for you perhaps? Have my fingers crossed for you! I’m ok. Think I’m out this month. I’ve had some dull aches on and off for a couple of days and I’m pretty sure I had that last month too, so I think AF will show on Friday. However I have weirdly been having quite savage heartburn on and off since 8DPO, so was considering testing to put myself out of my misery potentially on Weds... are you going to test or hang on in there?

Twinkletoes85 · 01/06/2020 21:49

@Missgoldilocks that makes a lot of sense! My DP is not a morning person either. I’m hoping I can get him on night shifts at some point 😂

Your son will be at a good age to help (if you can convince him to!) can teach him dirty nappies haha

@Fifol got my fingers crossed for you! Im a couple of days behind you but I’m a bit crampy today so I think I may be out I’m afraid. Whilst I’ll be sad I’m also equipped with lots of good info from all my book reading this month, so have new stuff to try for my next cycle - just trying to stay upbeat and cross everything for now, but I’m not hopeful.

@Twinkletoes85 I’m constantly terrified! You are not alone. My OH would get up at midday if he could whereas I’d get up at 5am willingly. I find the diff body clocks so annoying but I feel we will come into our own if we have a baby... now just to make that happen!!!!!

Aokbaby · 01/06/2020 22:16

@jessmcg had spotting before but not as early as this, I think I ovulated about 8days ago (was late ovulation) are you tracking bbt? Mine has been high since ovulation and dipped by about 0.5° this morning which is when I started spotting, not sure what is going on, think I might hold off until Fri or to see if I start bleeding more, it's so difficult not to get your hopes up xx

Fifol · 01/06/2020 22:27

@jessmcg you never know! I haven't had anything unusual so I'm really unsure and the waiting is really just torture. It was a public holiday here today so I'm kind of looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow to get my mind off it. I find it totally all consuming in the few days before AF is due 😬 like you I'm just staying hopeful for now. So tempted to test to out myself out of my misery

Missgoldilocks · 01/06/2020 22:31

@Twinkletoes85 I'm counting on him doing bits and pieces for the baby!! Haha he's a really good boy, he really likes babies he has more patience than me! :) must be a virgo thing hahaha. I'm just a little sad that I've had to wait this long to give him a sibling! Would have loved him to grow up with another sibling similar age and have lots of fun, instead he's around grouchy adults all the time 😂

Hoping41 · 01/06/2020 22:44

It's good to see everyone honesty on here. I'm definitely the same. I have spent a lot of my life doing what I wanted to do - travelling, working abroad etc and never really wanted to settle down until I met my partner. My mum died a couple of years ago and seeing her in the last few months really shifted my perspective on life. I kind of realised that at the end, it wouldn't matter where I'd been, it would matter who I'd created my life with. So, here I am - later to the ttc party then most - hoping to make a family.
I definitely like Netflix binging though!!

Posy1 · 01/06/2020 22:53

@Twinkletoes85 completely understand the terrified feeling. Even though we really wanted a baby when trying for my daughter, there was also the 'how will I cope with a little person being totally reliant on me every second of the day' feeling. It got it worst with when my hormones went haywire at about 9 weeks pregnant. Thought what the f*ckkkk are we doing, my life will never be my own again and began to completely panic, even though trying to conceive had consumed me for so long. It really is all worth it though and it's amazing how natural it feels when they do arrive. Haven't been away from my daughter for even one night since she was born and not ready to be yet, but I could not have imagined that before.
It still hasnt stopped me panicking again this time though.😂😂

Mid cycle spotting ladies, really hope it's implantation for you all. Hopefully the vitamin D from the last few weeks has helped!

@Missgoldilocks, yes cycle buddies. Let hope this cycle ends with a bfp for us both.

Posy1 · 01/06/2020 23:01

@Hoping41 I'm so sorry about your mom, it can't be easy. Sending hugs. Xx
I really like your way of thinking about life and what matters is who you spend it with.

Twinkletoes85 · 02/06/2020 08:36

@Hoping41 I’m sorry to hear about your mum. It does matter who’s in your life but I think you have to live for you too before you’re ready to settle down. That happens at different times for everyone. Life has a funny way of making things happen for you when it’s the right time, sometimes it just takes a little more work than you’d expect.

@Posy1 it’s nice to hear from you girls who have been through it already and that it’s normal and worth it! I suppose we forget how adaptable human actually are.

Morning everyone.
So I've just taken my temp and it's dipped today so I'm anticipating the arrival of AF today or tomorrow Sad My husband has booked in for private semen analysis later in the week (He told me yesterday, he arranged it himself off his own back! He never does anything for himself (I even have to manage his online banking because he's so disorganised!) so I'm super impressed!). I was secretly hoping I'd be able to tell him to cancel the appointment because we don't need it but that's looking pretty unlikely now.
Given that it's probably the start of a new cycle for me I'm going to give it a go taking Agnus Cactus, along with my usual folic acid and CoQ10. Are there any other supliments that any of you are taking that you've found benefit from? Or have been recommended to you?

notyetamumbuttrying · 02/06/2020 09:14

Hi @Tilly1403 sorry to hear af is on her way! I take those and also vita dha. Have a google of that and see if you want to add it in. Good going on your husband! Mine was looking for some at home ones online but we'd been warned off that they were bogus. Will tell him to go down the private route instead! Hope all turns out well for you both Thanks

jessmcg · 02/06/2020 09:23

@Aokbaby Could be an implantation dip. Wait & see! Have my fingers crossed for you 🤞.

@Fifol I’m tempted to test too. I haven’t in months as I find it so difficult, but this month I think I might. I’m feeling pretty weighed down by it all today and would rather just know so I can move on with my life. Feeling very irritable and grumpy!

jessmcg · 02/06/2020 09:24

@Tilly1403 sorry to hear AF may be on her way. Sending you ❤️. Think I’m out too as I’m getting more AF symptoms now and they all feel exactly as they do normally. Xx

MummyOfZog · 02/06/2020 09:31

@Tilly1403 I'm not taking it this cycle, but when I feel pg with DS I was taking evening primrose up to ovulation. It made a really noticeable difference to the amount of EWCM I produced. Other than that it had no other effects that I could see, and didn't lengthen or shorten my cycle or delay Ov so none of the annoying/worrying changes to cycle. You can get it anywhere, might be worth a shot?

I have heard amazing things about taking soya isoflavones from day 2-6 which acts a bit like clomid. It can mature the egg and produce a strong ovulation. However, I've been to scared to do this in case it mucks up my cycle at all as my cycle is pretty irregular at the best of times!

Hoping41 · 02/06/2020 09:34

@Tilly1403 that's really good going off your husband. It's great that he's being so proactive. Fingers crossed everything comes back normal and, if af does arrive, you can move into your new cycle knowing all is ok.

Hoping41 · 02/06/2020 09:37

@Twinkletoes85 that's a really nice way of putting it. It's definitely true as well. I've reached all milestones later than the norm in terms of wanting a 'proper job', house and stable partner so it makes that I'm late to the baby game too. Here's hoping this site brings lots of luck to all of us.
It's glorious sunshine again so I'm battling between doing work or going to sit in the garden 😀

Hoping41 · 02/06/2020 09:39

@MummyofZog that's really interesting re the supplements. I've tried loads so far so will Google those ones too.

Kitttycatt · 02/06/2020 09:53

Hi everyone! So I caved this morning and tested at 12 DPO and a BFN!! My temp dropped today so was expecting it. Anyway now I can move on to cycle 9 prep! I will also up my supplements next cycle, might start with omega 3. AF due Thursday.

Twinkletoes85 · 02/06/2020 10:07

@Hoping41 makes perfect sense, this is just your time. I tried with an ex and luckily it didn’t happen. I try to look back and think it just wasn’t my time. I’ve now got the partner I feel I was waiting for all along who my family love (none of them were that keen on the ex), the house I’ve always wanted and a good stable job with people I really like. I’m trying to stay positive that now it’s my time for a baby too since everything else has fallen into place.

I would definitely choose sitting in the garden if I were you!

@kitttycatt I’m sorry for your bfn. Are you ok?

OP posts:
Missgoldilocks · 02/06/2020 10:36

@Tilly1403 sorry to hear you think af is on the way, I hope its not!

@Kitttycatt sorry for your bfn 😔❤️ wishing you all the luck for cycle 9!

Dtd so much is too much pressure for myself and my partner, we don't do it a lot as it is lol so I think this month I'm just going to take it easy and only dtd like twice day before ovulation and day of ovulation, dtd like 5 times in a week is just horrid!

notyetamumbuttrying · 02/06/2020 10:42

I agree with dtd that often @Missgoldilocks! We struggle to want to that often during fw. We managed it this cycle but haven't done it since so I wonder when we'll next even do it again! We've gone the whole tww not doing it before cos we're just not that active anymore. 5 1/2 years together will do that to a couple lol!

Kitttycatt · 02/06/2020 11:08

Thanks @Twinkletoes85 @Missgoldilocks I'm ok, trying to stay positive, I have my appointment with the fertility clinic in a couple of weeks so feel i'm moving forward with that.

Twinkletoes85 · 02/06/2020 11:22

Hi everyone, I think we’re almost at the limit for this thread, shall I start a new one for us to move across to?
