Probably the only place I feel comfortable enough to share details of when I had sex and what is going on with my vagina 😳
So as the title says I'm 40 and some extra and desperately ttc since 2017, I've had 2 miscarriages in this time 1 being a Mmc and the other at week 12 which was horrendous. If you want to join for some love, support and a chat please do!
Don't let me be Billy no mates 😢

What a lovely thread and refreshing to read.

I am 40 and TTC #2. 2 x miscarriages before our DD and 2 after as well and now just recovering from a failed IVF cycle. Me and DH decided we would stop trying if the IVF was unsuccessful but he really wants to carry on trying for another year. I'm not so sure. It's so bloody sad and I think deep down I am coming to terms with having an only child even though that wasn't our intention. I got married at 34 and we starting ttc straight away so that's 6 years so far of ttc/miscarriages/investigations/pregnancy etc etc and I think I want to move on now. BUT...if I was pregnant now it would be amazing.

@Mumof4andahalf any news?
@chickoletta hope everything is going ok?
I'm due AF either tomorrow/fri/sat. I do vary between 24-26 day cycles!
Been having tender boobs since last Fri but I do get that pre AF too!! Otherwise no other symptoms. Will wait till next week to test though!

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 04/03/2020 17:16

Hi ladies
I'm not TTC but just wanted to wish you all well. I had no 2 at 42 and no 3 at 44. Keep trying, stay positive, it's not over until the menopause Smile

Chickoletta · 04/03/2020 17:27

Hi @mazdaz25. Yes, all well here, thanks. Yesterday I was worried that I didn’t feel as sick but it’s back with a vengeance today! Booking appointment with the MW booked for 30th March.
Hope everyone else is keeping ok.

Chickoletta · 04/03/2020 20:31

@KellyMarieTunstall2 So reassuring - thank you!

Mumof4andahalf · 05/03/2020 06:46

@mazdaz25 I'm out this month 😢 glad you're feeling sick @Chickoletta!! Hoping it's not too bad for you though? X

Hello everyone. Hope you are keeping well. So I got a faint positive on my first response test yesterday. I tested again today and it is exactly the same. It is ok for the line not to be getting darker? I am still a day away from the expected start of my period. Thank you for your help.

Mumof4andahalf · 07/03/2020 19:19

@Anxiousbuthopeful I wouldn't worry, you're really early still xx

@Mumof4andahalf thank you! fingers crossed...

mazdaz25 · 07/03/2020 23:55

So AF came yesterday in the end.
So here we go again!

CamdenTownie · 09/03/2020 21:39

Hey everyone,

I'm halfway through AF and feeling really sad today 😔 just that it's so far out of reach for us now, we've been trying for almost two years. I know I should think myself lucky for the children I have. Ttc is just always on my mind.

Hello ladies...popping by with a happy story to hopefully keep spirits up ❤️

I didn't meet my DH until I was 37 and so we started trying pretty much right after getting married at 38 (DH being a year older). Had one chemical pregnancy and then a mmc before 12 weeks later the same year. Totally threw me as I'd naively assumed all would be fine. I then went on a bit of a mission to get tested for NK cells etc (just didn't want to have more losses if it could be helped). Spent thousands. Got very ill on a programme of steroids. Had another loss at 8 weeks while on the meds. Decided to give up the protocol as I was so unwell (had the shakes, palpitations, extreme fatigue) and let nature take its course. I carried on with ubiquinol supplements, gentle exercise and five elements acupuncture (not the same as traditional acupuncture). A few months later fell pregnant and had my DD a month after my 40th Smile. Started trying again about a year afterwards (I had a section so had to wait). Had another early loss at around 8/9 weeks again. AMH tested and average for age. Fell pregnant and had DS early this year at the age of 42 and a half! It can happen 🙏🏼❤️

The only other thing I did besides the above was to use temperature tracking - for the last two pregnancies I bought an Ava bracelet. Due to DH's shifts we only managed to DTD a couple of times each cycle which is totally contrary to the advice of trying more regularly. On at least a few of those (including the cycle with my last pregnancy) I ended up self-inseminating as he was just too tired and I wasn't about to waste any days when we finally did end up in the house at the same time Grin

Somehow we got lucky...but I hope it helps even if to give some moral support about pregnancy after 40. It wasn't smooth sailing but you can get there ❤️❤️❤️❤️ xxx

karryk · 10/03/2020 05:30

Sorry, forgot to add that after my section I needed a hysteroscopy to clear scar tissue and was told that I likely had a blocked tube so the chances of falling pregnant naturally were tough.....

Anxiousbuthopeful · 10/03/2020 14:12

Chemical pregnancy. Such sadness.

Holidaywindowshopperaddict · 10/03/2020 16:15

@KellyMarieTunstall2
Hope you don't mind, could I please ask...were they through IVF?

Mysocalledlifexx · 10/03/2020 16:24

I just had a baby & im 40 was trying for a year went & got a smear test & got pregnant just after that so i do think this is what helped me get pregnant
Good luck to u all x

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 10/03/2020 17:10

@Holidaywindowshopperaddict no IVF, natural conceptions fortunately.

Chickoletta · 10/03/2020 22:17

@Anxiousbuthopeful - so sorry to read this. Thinking of you. X

Anxiousbuthopeful · 11/03/2020 07:04

@Chickoletta thank you. How are you doing?

Chickoletta · 11/03/2020 17:31

I’m really well thanks, @Anxiousbuthopeful. Very tired and struggling to keep on top of work, kids and impending house move as I want to go to bed at 9pm, but grateful to be still hanging on in there for now!

Anxiousbuthopeful · 11/03/2020 17:58

So pleased! It CAN happen! Dusting myself off, will try again this coming month and let you all know.

DioneTheDiabolist · 11/03/2020 18:09

I'm another who isnt TTC, but I had DC2 at 44. A lovely surprise, I thought I was going through menopause.Blush

Chickoletta · 21/03/2020 11:15

Hi ladies. Just checking in. Hope you’re all keeping well. Maybe self-isolation with partners will be good for TTC...?!
I am now 7+3 and doing well, I think. Will be glad to get to my scan. No date set yet. Take care in these crazy times everyone. X

Anxiousbuthopeful · 21/03/2020 12:07

Oooh @chickoletta! How exciting. All good over here, I live in Milan (Italy) so pretty hard hit but just staying home and laying low. How is everyone else?

Mumof4andahalf · 26/03/2020 16:35

How's everyone doing? I've lost the plot the last few days, happy to be locked away from people as i spend a lot of time at either work/Home. Got plenty to keep me busy and a kindle on hand but I'm finding the constant criticism from my partner and daughter about 'home schooling' unbearable. I wish they would stf up and leave it to me! Add to that a pukeu teen and tearful 10 year old! Eldest has moved to her dads for isolation and that upset me far than it should but when you spend a fortune trying to shop to keep a large household going because you didn't panic buy and 2 leave I'm slightly pissed off!
How's everyone else coping?
@Chickoletta how are you?
