Probably the only place I feel comfortable enough to share details of when I had sex and what is going on with my vagina 😳
So as the title says I'm 40 and some extra and desperately ttc since 2017, I've had 2 miscarriages in this time 1 being a Mmc and the other at week 12 which was horrendous. If you want to join for some love, support and a chat please do!
Don't let me be Billy no mates 😢

@2alreadywantanother I would really recommend OPKs. I am 42 and with my cycle getting shorter and no longer feeling ovulation pains - and rarely seeing any CM I was panicking that I wasn't ovulating. But I started doing OPKs and it seems that I definitely am. I had a chemical pregnancy last month and have just got a smiley face on the clear blue OPKs today.

2alreadywantanother · 26/06/2020 10:35

@Kirinm the only reason I didnt this month was because when we discussed it and decided it was just a few days into the cycle. I didnt tell him it was my fertile window so as not to out pressure on him, but I'd say he knows 😂😂 poor thing is exhausted lol

2alreadywantanother · 26/06/2020 10:41

Sorry, had to check out what a chemical pregnancy was. That must have been hard.
This kinda thing frightens me, my DH is a worrier and fears the worse. But he always thinks ehats for u wont pass u.
This 2WW is the worst tho lol it's like someone tell me already. I havent even started taking vitamins yet. Must get folic acid this wkend. I was looking up ttc ones, most say not to take if thyroid issues. I've underactive thyroid. So I wont go near them.

kirinm · 26/06/2020 10:43

@2alreadywantanother I was much more upset than I thought I would be. I guess it is because of my age and I'm worried we have very little time left. I personally don't think I want to try once I'm 43. Just a personal preference - I think TTC ends up putting your life on hold a bit and I don't want that to go on indefinitely. I may feel differently by the time my next birthday comes along though.

I have become stupidly emotional about it all. I really need to try and detach from thinking about it all the time.

2alreadywantanother · 26/06/2020 10:48

@kirinm I completely know where ur coming from. I know I'll be devastated when AF arrives never mind what u went through.
The age is my worry. Not sure how long we will try for. See what happens, DH is younger than me so hes probably not concerned about his swimmers. But he is about my age and complications.

kirinm · 26/06/2020 11:07

@2alreadywantanother yes my DP is 35 so much younger than I am. We had our DD nearly two years ago and that pregnancy was fine - I bled a lot but that wasn't due to age. I didn't even think of the potential complications at the time but after reading a thread on here about women over 40 ttc, it has made me quite anxious.

2alreadywantanother · 26/06/2020 11:11

@kirinm yeah my 2 pregnancies I had pre eclampsia symptoms near the end of both, I hurt my bank on 2nd which later on resulted in my having a herniated disc. So that was our biggest concern. Our eldest son is T1 diabetic so the last 18mths we were focused on his care. So we hadn't really time to think about having more. But I'd regret if we didnt at least try. DH is been very supportive lol

Good morning: question about trying to conceive and breastfeeding. I am 40 and trying to conceive our second child for a few months and no results so far. The first was very easy. We finally decided to consult an IVF Doctor Who suggested that breastfeeding my toddler is probably not helping. She is only breastfeeding very little in the morning, once a day. She is 2 and a half so probably it wouldn't harm stopping but I and she still enjoy it! Should I stop? My periods are regular and I believe I ovulate every time, judging from positive looks. I even conceived in December but sadly had an early miscarriage.
Any advice? Any experience of very little breastfeeding harming chances for a conception? Thanks in advance!

lucieloos · 26/06/2020 18:14

I think so long as you are ovulating and having regular periods it shouldn't affect anything. You could always get your prolactin levels tested but again if you are having regular cycles it should be back down to normal by now.

Mumof4andahalf · 30/06/2020 22:09

But of a depressing question and I'm so sorry to ask but for those that have had losses how long until you lost all symptoms? For those that don't know I went to the epu at 9 weeks but there was a gestation sac and yolk sac but no visible pregnancy. I started bleeding 8 days ago, passed lots of clots and tissue on Saturday and the bleeding stopped yesterday. Still lots of symptoms though. My boobs are still painful, nipples huge and still feel really queasy with cramps and backache. 2 previous losses symptoms went before the bleeding started.last times I was told to take a test a week later this time I've got a follow up scan in 9 days time to check my dates weren't wrong, they Definately wasn't unless I got a positive test 2 days before I conceived!

Hi hun , how are you doing ? ❤️ I would say I had symptoms (after a d&c) for about two weeks and when I went for a check up about three weeks I had a line still on pg test so was still hcg there . It does take a while . I did ovulate again about three weeks after that ( the way your body just pings back like nothing has happened eh ) I hope you’re doing ok given the circumstances xx

Anxiousbuthopeful · 25/07/2020 20:35

Hello ladies. Just to let you know that I did one round of IVF in July and have had a positive HCG test. Thrilled but obviously very very early days and lots can happen. Hope everyone is doing well....

awbaby · 25/07/2020 21:42

@anxiousbuthopeful Congratulations Xx you must be so happy. What day are you on?
I've also just had a positive hcg test, but I'm just scared something will go wrong again. But I keep testing everyday since the first one just to make sure. If I make it to 6 weeks I will try and get an early scan. I'm 4w+2 and counting.

Anxiousbuthopeful · 26/07/2020 07:12

Hello @awbaby! Congratulations! I am also very scared. 4w + 5d here...

bb077 · 27/07/2020 15:09

Hey posted on here a while back have been ttc since MMC in January I'm 43 and have had a blood test but doc can't discuss till Thursday anyone else shed some light
Blood taken CD21

Serum LH = 41.3 IU/ml
Serum FSH = 64.7 IU/ml
Serum Progesterone =0.6 nmol/L
Serum Oestradiol = 92 pmol/L

lucieloos · 27/07/2020 15:25

@bb077 fsh, lh and estradiol should normally be measured on day 3 so I'm not sure how relevant those results would be. Progesterone should be measured 7 days before expected period so day 21 if you have a 28 day cycle. To show ovulation levels would need to be above 10nmol/L so your results show that you haven't ovulated but how long are your cycles? Maybe the test was done at the wrong time.

bb077 · 27/07/2020 15:33

@lucieloos thanks for your reply ! I have been using the clearblue advanced monitor From CD6 and it’s been high constantly on the carton but the monitor says low I guess because it’s constantly high it’s not registering a surge I used wandfo LH strips Also and they were darker than control every day I also did urine FSH test which is positive on day 3, 10 and 21 So I’m guessing this means pirimenopause as they are all high all of this cycle and progesterone is low. I usually ovulate ... or register a surge anywhere between CD11-16 since I have started tracking it stance the MMC in January the sonogram lady said I released 2 eggs

Anxiousbuthopeful · 02/08/2020 17:36

Hi @awbaby - any news from your end? I had another blood test on Friday and my hcg levels are still doubling but I don’t feel pregnant (yet?) so still very concerned. First, very early, scan next Friday (when I will be 6w + 3d

awbaby · 02/08/2020 19:14

@Anxiousbuthopeful I wanted to get past 5w1 as that's when I had a miscarriage before, so I'm happy I have. I was worried I had no symptoms as well but I've had a weekend of constant hunger which I remember last time, but not much else.
Good luck with your scan, hope everything goes well. I have got a scan booked in 2 weeks too as I just want to know everything is OK, so it's going to be a long wait.

Twinklelittlestar1 · 02/08/2020 21:50

Hi! can I join? I'm 40, ttc #3 (I have one son but lost a daughter at 7 months pregnant 4 years ago.) in the last year I've had three miscarriages- one mmc and two chemicals. I'm going to speak to my doctor tomorrow about any help/ advice they can offer.

awbaby · 07/08/2020 09:27

@anxiousbuthopeful good luck with your scan today.

Anxiousbuthopeful · 07/08/2020 12:13

Thank you @awbaby! Can’t believe you remembered. How is all going with you?

Anxiousbuthopeful · 07/08/2020 16:47

Had scan. Everything looks ok but no heartbeat. Apparently at 6wks + 3 days that can still be ok? Does anyone know? I am a bit concerned....

Sunshinelove8 · 08/08/2020 12:03

Hi there I think it may be ok , it might start in the next couple of days hopefully but also I didn’t have one at 6 week 5 and it never developed probably after that . How were the measurements ? I know how frightening it was for me at that time so big hugs , can you rescan in a few days ? X

Anxiousbuthopeful · 08/08/2020 12:29

3mm fetal pole. Rescanning next week. So scared and so sad.
