Hey, I've started a more broad thread this month rather than a bus so we can keep it going rather than starting new ones every month.

Here are my stats
TTC no 2 (2 years to have no 1 but we weren't actively trying and I knew nothing about my cycle and DTD not so often)
Cycle 12
AF/BFP 12th Jan
Age 30

Feel free to tag some more @tamalala @Sunflower2019 @ceebee21

Morning ladies! I'm CD10 and I woke up with awful ov pains at 2am. I had it slightly on my left side and lower back, but my right ovary was worse, there was so much pressure there that it felt like the egg was going to burst through. I've got a dull ache there off and on now and lower back ache. I'm also having some vaginal twinges but I have no cm at all 😕☹️ I'm not using opks this month so planning to dtd tonight and tomorrow and Monday if possible. All my apps have me due to ov on Tuesday at CD13, which is the time I usually ov so I'm confused by the pains I had/have 🤔 I get these pains every month but I'm just worried I've ov early this month. We've only dtd this week on Tuesday. Now I'm thinking we should have done it yesterday to increase our chances but DH was away overnight last night 😕

@BFP2020 yeah, that was my plan. Definitely today and tomorrow and then if we dtd Tuesday, which is when I'm supposed to ov then hopefully I'll be covered. I'm just a bit worried because I don't have any cm 😕

@Tamalama I would say you will be well covered 😘 all you can do is your best every month

@BFP2020 yes, that's all I can do. Some months I've dtd loads and other months not so much so it's just a lottery really! 🤞

BFP2020 · 04/01/2020 10:00

@Tamalama it only takes one sperm 🤞🏼

@BFP2020 that's very true. The only annoying thing about not using opks is I won't 100% know when I've ovulated so I won't know when to start counting my dpo days 😕 x

Report
BFP2020 · 04/01/2020 10:13

@Tamalama I try not even count now just go by when my longest cycle was since trying and if I don't get AF by then then I've a really good chance of getting a BFP x

I agree with @BFP2020, and definitely dtd every day from today, no need to skip any days surly if he's around though? Just every day this weekend and next week to cover all bases?

Report
Tamalama · 04/01/2020 10:35

@ChampooPapi yep, definitely plan to dtd today and tomorrow and maybe Monday. Not sure I can do every day for a week though 😂 plus I read that dtd every day can decrease the quality of sperm?
When I spoke to my gp she said to dtd every 2-3 days throughout the month and maybe just increase it around ov or just every other day.

@BFP2020 I think I'm going to track it that way too, just wait until af is due and hopefully it'll be late! When I know af is due I'm going to try not to symptom spot!

ChampooPapi · 04/01/2020 12:29

@Tamalama I have read a few recent studies saying that it doesn't decrease the quality, the more sex the better basically. Especially through our your cycle unless you are 100% on your ovulation dates. I really hope we see some bfp on this thread this month, this is my third month and I'm getting impatient but this thread helps keep me grounded and realistic every time I log on as I can see some other have been trying for much longer. Some days seriously drag though don't they! Today is definitely one of those where my head is in the baby clouds!

A news study suggests that daily sex helps ensure that sperm isn’t attacked as an invader – and that the fertilised egg implants into the uterus

I found another study about this so I'm going for every day this month. So far managed it, but definitely won't be on it every month 😂

Hey ladies, todays OPKs are negative, would you still DTD? I think I missed the Ov, I guess it happened before earlier than it should, damn it :(( today's is the 15th day of the cycle x

Tamalama · 04/01/2020 22:44

@ChampooPapi ahh I didn't realise that, interesting article too. I guess the thing is I don't think I can be arsed to do it for 6-7 days in a row 😂 fingers crossed you get your bfp his month, what dpo are you?

Report
Tamalama · 04/01/2020 22:45

@Hola84 I'd still dtd if you can because you may not have yet ovulated? X

Report
BFP2020 · 04/01/2020 22:48

@ChampooPapi They all day different things but in my opinion I really don't enjoy doing everyday I actually get sore 🙈

@Hola84 I'd keep testing as you can ovulate late my latest was CD 18 one month. Do you get any other symptoms like EWCM or the pinching pain or pressure? What was your longest cycle? One thing I've learned over the last 12 months is Luteal Phase is normally 14 days so 14 days after you O if you don't get AF you have a great chance of getting a BFP. My luteal phase started at 11 days(the first month off implant) and went to 12 and the last 5 months it has been 13 days. That's why I'm asking what your longest cycle has been because if you count 14 days back you Ovulated later that month??

@Tamalama, @BTP2020 thanks :-) my longest cycle has been 29 days back in November. No other symptoms really, I usually get bloated belly, sensitive boobs and back pain, but this is just literally a couple of days before the period is coming, and more of a heads up. Next month I will test from the first day after period is over to be absolutely sure when I'm ov. There is a tiny little bit of hope left that Ov didn't happen yet, but we've been DTDing around the Ov dates over past six months and nothing, so maybe I am wrong with regards to the Ov date as I don't get any symptoms. I would love for one of us to get a bfp this month! Fingers crossed for all of you x

@Tamalama yes I think it's just if your partner has slower/low sperm count or something now, that they suggest taking a day off in between. However I will certainly not be doing it next month , I just have no idea about ovulation Currently with my different cycles so need to cover all bases and kind of an experiment I guess 🤷‍♀️

He's also away three days from today so I won't be on my back all month 😏

CD10 today and have now dtd 7 days in a row, really enjoyed it so far and it's been at different times ect so still joyful and a spontaneous.

I'm going for a follow up with my Dr Thursday about my surgical management back in October , I assume all is ok but after hearing absolutely nothing since I do want to see what's what.very short periods since so something's a bit off, but I was pregnant for nearly three months and I'm only on my third month trying so I imagine i could be looking at a winter baby at this point

@Chanel05 did you have to get a referral for the tests by your GP even though you went privately, or did you just arrange it yourself? X
