Hey, I've started a more broad thread this month rather than a bus so we can keep it going rather than starting new ones every month.

Here are my stats
TTC no 2 (2 years to have no 1 but we weren't actively trying and I knew nothing about my cycle and DTD not so often)
Cycle 12
AF/BFP 12th Jan
Age 30

Feel free to tag some more @tamalala @Sunflower2019 @ceebee21

@Kataa Can I ask you what prompted the Laparoscopy? Did you have bad pains? My doctor now suspects I may have Endo and has reffered me?

@Hola84 How long are your cycles? CD 10 seems quite early to get a positive OPK?

I've had the blood tests done and I am def Ovulating I can feel it anyway. I also had an ultrasound and internal ultrasound back in Sept to check for cysts and they found a few small Polyps on my Right ovary but the doctor said they were so small they weren't worried about it. She never even mentioned ENDO. I then decided to go to a different doctor and advised of my symptoms and she said in her opinion she would be surprised if i didn't have ENDO so she referred me. I am supposed to get an app in Feb publicly but I think If get AF on the 12th which i suspect I will think I will just go privately and get the ball rolling.

@BFP2020 we just plan to DTD every other day, definitely the day before ov and on the day itself. Like you, I can feel when I ov so I'm going to go by that. No opks for me, when I spoke to my gp recently she said to ditch them as it can just cause additional stress. I just think of all the money I wasted with the clearblue digital ones 🤦‍♀️
How are you getting on? What's your plan? X

BFP2020 · 02/01/2020 11:13

@Tamalama Do you have all the pressure like me or just a little stabbing? The OPK's really are a waste of money I did the cheapies for awhile and they worked the same as the digital you just had to test a few more times during the day. Last month we did CD 8,10,12,14,16,19 and no BFP. This month I was going to do the odd numbers but it didn't work out like that so we just did CD 11,13,14,16,17. The first 2 days is always fine but the other days are like doing the dishes and I find we are both finding it stressful. Is your OH getting frustrated with the DTD at certain times? I'm pretty sure I ovulated Mon so I am currently in my TWW not holding my breath though just waiting now for my pains to start. Had cramps backache tender boobs from Ovulation last month.

@BFP2020 I get pressure and the ovary pains. When I've got my positive opks it was around the times I got the pains so I know I definitely have ovulated. I used the expensive and cheapies too, and like you, if I got a positive on clearblue I'd also get one on the cheapies, so I worked out the cheapies are just as good. At least there wasn't the stress of blank circles, flashing smileys and statics! Having said that, I'm not using any opks at all now, moving forward. In theory I plan to dtd every day each month but it never works out that way. I don't tell DH when I'm ov as I don't want to stress him out, although he probably guesses because we dtd more often! 😂 we dtd before af arrived, and he said hopefully that will get you pregnant (he meant it in a nice way), and I was like um no, that ship has sailed this month, I'm in my tww! 🤦‍♀️
I'm currently 8dpo today, and according to all 4 apps, my fertile window starts today and I'm due to ov next Tuesday, which will put me at 13dpo, which is usually spot on each month... I've got a few twinges in the ov area today (I seem to get it in the right side most months) but I get that a few days before I ov, then it disappears and then comes back whilst I ov. X

I know it's probably unlikely, but after the few months of trying I am doubting everything I knew about my body and the cycle lol 😂 it's very regular though, 27 days on average

@Hola84 Have you done OPK's Before?

@Tamalama the every 2nd day is probably the easiest to do to be honest. If I don't get a BFP this month I'm actually just going to go with the flow until my app and just DTD whenever we feel like it. Because it has been so long it really has taken the fun out of DTD. Sad Have you had tests done you may have told me this already?

@BFP2020 yeah I know what you mean, and I just find the tww all consuming, and I find myself just so distracted and not myself 😕
They won't do any tests until the spring because we started ttc in May 2019, and the gp said to start tests March/April time this year. She said there isn't much they can do though because I have my DD with my DH and I also fell pregnant December 2018, so I am able to get pregnant with my DH.
When I had my mc last Feb I had 3 internal scans and was told my ovaries look fine, no issues with them and everything else looks fine. I'm 39, so maybe my eggs just aren't as good any more 😕☹️
Keeping everything crossed for you for this month x

@Tamalama I know what you mean about not being yourself during the TWW I'm always on edge and just really hoping it's going to be my month. I thought because of you age the start testing after 6 months? x

@BFP2020 no, only just started this week, I have naively thought I wont have any issues as I didn't have any with my son and just been hoping and waiting each months. I guess it was 4 years ago and things do change!! Last month I was couple of days late (and it's usually super regular) - I was disappointed X 1000! As one of the ladies mentioned, DH is getting a bit frustrated with almost scheduled DTD and someone close suggested that perhaps I am not ovulating when I think I am (or what's more accurate when the app suggests I am) so I went for the opks. Just done it now, and there is a very faint second line, according to the instructions it means the result is negative

Tamalama · 02/01/2020 13:11

@BFP2020 I thought that too but apparently it has to be a year because the person I want to have a child with I already have a child with, which supposedly means that neither me or DH have any fertility issues... that does make sense, just sucks we have to wait so long to have any kinds of tests and even those will be basic ones. No possibility of IVF to be offered, which I do understand, so really it's just a case of just keep trying...

@Hola84 my DD turned 3 in November and I fell pregnant within 3 months of coming off the pill. I fell pregnant last year after 2 months of coming off the pill but it ended in a mc. We've been trying again since May but nothing so far, which makes it even more frustrating because it's happened so quickly before ☹️

Does anyone else ever feel like they have 0 hope in the tww? I am 8dpo and since 1dpo I have just assumed I am out already and feeling disheartened!

@BFP2020 we are definitely happy with either, but I do fear the boy situation a bit because I feel that I know how to 'do' girls.

I'm going for it like a loon this month, only three day period so started dtd on cd 4 and now ticked off cd5,6 & 7. Going to do 9,10 & 11 if possible as then my partner is away untill Thursday.

I'm going for everyday this month he is here 💪

@Chanel05 all the time. The first few months I expected to fall pregnant but now it feels like playing the lottery. If I ever do get a positive I don't think I will believe it until I see the ultrasound.

Hi @BFP2020 part of the reason I had the laparoscopy was because I did get quite bad period pains (would take 2xparacetomol and 2xibuprofen all day for first day and a half and would still sometimes get pain) although no other significant symptoms. They also partly did it because I went for a hycosy and they weren’t able to do it (long story and thankfully quite rare apparently- I don’t want to worry anyone else if they’re having one!) so they were able to check my tubes during the laparoscopy.
I’m pleased to say my period pains are not so bad anymore (although I do still get pain) so it was worth doing. Hope that’s useful 😊

@Tamalama, I totally get that! I feel exactly the same, and I was waiting cause I wasn't sure if I wanted the second and then once I've decided and finally convinced hubby, nothing is happening. I did have a cyst on the ovary back in October and needed to wait a month to ensure it disappears and the doctor did say that if it happens the chances are smallish. I'm wondering if I have it again, back to the doctors in Feb to check. Hopefully everything is okay. I'm supposed to be ov tomorrow, fingers crossed! X

@Hola84 I can help you with telling you when an OPK is positive which ones are you using? My OH is really fed up of the schedules DTD it frustrates me so much🤦🏻‍♀️ what CD are you on?

@Tamalama why isn't there an option of IVF?

@Chanel05 me the minute I ovulate I'm just wishing the 2 weeks away because I know I'm going to be disappointed and it really gets me down. I've tried being positive I've tried not thinking about it I feel I've tried everything and nothing seems to help it's just harder for some ppl and I'm one of them and I feel this month I've come to terms with that a lot more x

@Champoopapi I'm in the same mindset as you my little girl is 4 and a diva a boy would be totally out of my comfort zone and I'm afraid if I've a boy next my OH won't let us have a third and I've always wanted three 🙈 you are going to be wrecked after all that what CD do you normally O?

@Kataa I thought you were going to say you had pain all through the month I get bad O pain and then my PMS can't start some months from O day on and it's cramps and backache! It's almost like a relief pain wise when AF does arrive even though every month I'm praying I'm one of those ppl who have cramping and backache and still get a BFP🙈

@BFP2020 I think endometriosis can be very variable, it can be severe with not much pain or mild with lots of pain, only way to know for sure is laparoscopy I think. It also depends on where it is, I was told an ultrasound can show it up if it’s on the ovaries but you can’t see it elsewhere.
It’s certainly worth seeing if you can have the operation, must be very unpleasant to have pain half the month, I found it frustrating enough planning my life around just days 1 and 2 of my cycle due to pain!
