Hi girls! I know we wanted to start a thread for the ones who didn't get their BFP this month.

@Skyla01 @Mrsrobinson247 @SarahMS I know you wanted to join.

Anyone else welcome to join us on our conception journey and looking to test around 2nd week in December.

TTC #1 (2nd pregnancy)
Cycle #2
AF due around 9th September

This is my 1st month using OPKs - anyone got any advice on when to start testing?

Hope I'm okay to join

TTC number 1
Cycle 2
28 years old

Timing-wise this month would be absolutely perfect for me and my husband to get pregnant so I have all my fingers and toes crossed that this month is the one!

Sunflower2019 · 17/11/2019 19:21

Hey girlies, just watched brightburn omg it was so dark! Trying to take my mind off af etc! Have just bought some more clear blue sticks as thinking I may test twice daily when I get further on, also going to buy some cheapies. Thanks @amysara24 for app recommendation I got a free trial of Femometer but to be honest it’s not thay great in comparison to Premom! So may try that one you said 😊

How is everyone feeling? Af due to end on the 21st so then after a couple of days can start the clear blue sticks!

I felt a little down earlier, prob hormonal and said to dp maybe I’m running out of time at 32.. nearly 33! I know I’m not old but it’s so heartbreaking each month and wondering why it’s been such a hard task! I know people have been trying for years and I do already have a child but it still seems to really bring me down! I have been getting more clued up I guess and maybe it takes a while for the pill to completely leave your system, god knows!
Went to b&m earlier and bought some Christmas bits and had a McDonald’s so a nice treat Smile

Hope everyone had a good weekend!!!!

Xxxx

Hi ladies,

I've been lurking on here for a while but I would love to join a chat.

I'm 31
TTC for the first time
Cycle 4

We tried SMEP last month but didn't follow the guidelines 100% so we are trying it again this month. I've started temping this month too alongside opks which will hopefully help pinpoint ovulation rather than the usual guess from the opk.
Today is cd8 so started SMEP today. I'm just hoping we can actually stick to the days this month Blush

Ellsbells112 · 18/11/2019 08:24

@Sunflower2019 hey lovely ❤ you definitely are not drinking out of time but its hard not to think like that when these things happen! You have plenty of time please dont stress about it you will definitely get pregnant again and it will stick!

I really want to watch brightburn too! So its cd16 for me if I'm correct when I ovulated but still no period and still bfns. No cramps just a pressure feeling!? I don't feel pregnant at all so I'm just annoyed because I want to try again but it looks like my body is making it difficult for me 😒 I've got a doctors appointment on tuesday anyway so we will see

Mumofboys17 · 18/11/2019 08:33

Hi ladies.. mind if I join? 😊
Age 27 & DH is also 27
TTC #2
Cycle #4
AF due 19/12 (long cycles up to 37 days)

I’m using OPK’s, plus recently downloaded the Ovia app, after last month going crazy and spending a fortune on testing too early this app seems perfect for me as it gives me a countdown as to when I can test again, I’m not using the ‘fertile window’ it mentions as gospel though I rely more on OPK’s for that personally as I seem to ovulate at random points in every cycle!
How is everyone else doing? X

Sunflower2019 · 18/11/2019 09:19

Morning and welcome newbies :)

@Ellsbells112 I feel for you, it’s worse the not knowing but maybe you’re having a longer cycle, and maybe they are just still trying to even out? My cycles have been all different lengths since coming off the pill, I’m not too worried as my lp was short some months which can be an issue! Hoping this month will be clearer!
Those tests I had done came back all good but still worries me there’s something but I’ve read it’s normal to take a year, so I guess I keep plodding on but in the new few months if nothing then I think I will look into it further.
It sounds silly as ill be happy either way but wanted a baby before August (due date) because of the whole school thing etc! I know we can’t pick and choose but it was just preference really but I’m still going to keep trying and if it happens it happens and it will when it’s meant to.

Just having a coffee and then I am off to my reflexology appointment, I’m quite interested to know how it’s going to go I’ve spoken to the lady and she said it’s best to start at the beginning of your cycle so that’s perfect. I am also going to ask her about some other things!

Has anyone got any suggestions on alternative therapies for trying to conceive? I could try acupuncture I suppose.

How is everyone else it seems to have gone a bit quiet but I guess it will until we’re all in the two week wait again xxxx

Sunflower2019 · 18/11/2019 09:20

@Mumofboys17 I also ovulate at random times it’s been anywhere from cycle day 10 to last cycle cycle day 18 which is crazy and it made my cycle so long 33 days to be exact rather than the usual 27! X

Mumofboys17 · 18/11/2019 09:32

@Sunflower2019 I thought it was the only one!! 😂
Yeah my cycles go up to 37 days some months so it really is a complete guessing game most of the time! It took us over a year to conceive DS1 so trying to stay chilled about it all but so stressful when it feels like everyone else around you is getting pregnant with minimal stress!! 😬

Ellsbells112 · 18/11/2019 09:45

@Sunflower2019 my body shouldn't need to sort itself out as I wasnt on hormonal contraception not for 6 years, I had a copper iud and I had that taken out in april. I've had regular cycles with it in and with it out so that's why I really dont understand what's going on 😓 I dont think I ovulated properly I don't know I guess I'm just guessing right now so I'll talk to the doctor about it tomorrow. I always come on late in the day cd17 or bang on cd28.

Ahh that's nice, enjoy the reflexology! I think I will look into the acupuncture after blood tests lol. Will you cut down on coffee? I'm having a coffee before I head to the gym lol. I guess the best thing for conceiving is not to stress and relax but it is so hard to do that, I think the reflexology will help you with that so fingers crossed lovely:) xxx

Ginblooded · 18/11/2019 11:49

Hello ladies, hope it's ok to join!
I got my bfp last week but unfortunately it ended in a chemical pregnancy 🙁 so I'm back on the bus for next month and feeling more positive now!

Age: me - 30 dp - 33
TTC #2
Cycle #3
Ov: (roughly) 28th - tempted to buy some opks
Af due: 12th December

Good luck everyone!

MrsA2019 · 18/11/2019 12:00

Hi Ladies,

I hope you don't mind me joining your group.

I am 31, TTC for the 1st time and on cycle 4.

I am using ovulation sticks and appear to be ovulating but so far no luck! I was 2 days late last month and was convinced but BFN Sad

AF due around the first week in Dec so thought this may be a good group to join.

The TWW is awful and I am constantly symptom checking. People keep telling me to stop thinking about it but easier said than done - at least everyone here is in the same crazy boat!

Fingers crossed for us all Smile

Mumofboys17 · 18/11/2019 12:21

@Ginblooded sorry to hear about your chemical 🙁 that happened to us but we did conceive DS1 the cycle after! Hope this is the month for you!! X

@MrsA2019 I can’t bare the TWW. I’m a serial early tester!! 😬 hoping the app I’ve downloaded will help stop me over testing this month.. only 30 days to go before I can test now apparently 😂😂 that sounds so much worse than 2 weeks!!! X

HappyMouse · 18/11/2019 12:34

Good morning everyone. Can I join? I don't post very often but I'm always popping on to see how everyone is getting on. I'm feeling a bit down at the moment and becoming a bit obsessed 🙈. MMC July. Now on Cycle 4 of TTC #1. Age 36, husband 35. Used OPKs last cycle. Lots of baby dust to us all. Xx

Ginblooded · 18/11/2019 13:13

@Mumofboys17 thanks! I did read that your fertility is increased after a chemical so that's what I'm focusing on 😊

summershine2204 · 18/11/2019 13:46

I read the title to this and though "oh why is there a post so far ahead in the future" and now it's just clicked that is when my TWW is up 😭😭

It's going to be a long two weeks!

summershine2204 · 18/11/2019 13:49

Oh and I missed of,
23 and TTC #1 my cycle so so out of whack due to PCOS however I was put on metformin 2 months ago and had two cycles back to back!! We've been TTC for around 18 months now however it's been a complete stab in the dark with my cycles but now I'm using OPKs and BBT ... does anybody have any websites etc that I could give to my DH - he thinks I'm obsessed with peeing on little sticks and I keep explaining it has to be done every day and he just laughs and tells me to stop over thinking it.

He does want a baby, he just doesn't realise there's more to it than just dtd.

He's had his semen analysis so it's all down to my silly insides it seems :(

Mumofboys17 · 18/11/2019 14:00

@summershine2204 without being funny, have you ever showed him some of the threads on here? My DH read up on a few when we were TTC the first time and it opened his eyes quite a bit! Unfortunately I think even with all the knowledge most men seem to think it’s always all about DTD 🙄😂
Are you using pre seed too? I only use it when I’m having positive OPK’s but got pregnant using it before x

Katie1109 · 18/11/2019 14:11

Hi everyone, hope you don’t mind me joining x
I’m 29 and TTC our first.
Regular-ish 28 day cycles (max 30) . This is cycle number 6 for us and I’m on CD 6 with af due between 11-13 of December. It’s my 2nd month using OPKs, last month I had a peak on CD 15/16 x
We managed to get pregnant in August but sadly had an early mc :(. I am really, really hoping for a nice Christmas surprise xx
Is everyone here due around 2nd week of December? x

Mumofboys17 · 18/11/2019 15:21

Hi @Katie1109 😊
So sorry to hear about your loss x
Im just finishing AF now but am next due on around 19th dec, ages for me yet!!

Anyone else just considering the SMEP method? 😬

Tenerife12 · 18/11/2019 15:26

Hey everyone
My af is due in the 8th December
So hopefully will be lucky x

HappyMouse · 18/11/2019 15:39

Hi @katie1109 so sorry to hear of your loss. Our dates/cycle are exactly the same! Fingers crossed for the perfect Christmas gift! 🤞

MrsA2019 · 18/11/2019 16:13

@Mumofboys17 I had never heard of the SMEP method until this thread! I think we have inadvertently almost followed it this month but I know you have to be pretty on the ball from what I've just read....you never know it could have worked!
It's got loads of positive reviews on their website so deffo worth a shot!

Mumofboys17 · 18/11/2019 16:17

@MrsA2019 me either!! 😂😂 I mean I’m sure DH would be up for giving it a go haha.. but, how on earth do you keep it going for a whole month without some serious fanny burn?! (Sorry if tmi... but.. seriously..) 🙃😂

MrsA2019 · 18/11/2019 16:25

@Mumofboys17 (I can't tag you for some reason) Girl, I hear ya! Even DH was getting to the point that he was unsure if he was up to the challenge...poor thing somehow managed Grin although from what I've read I think we've now got 1 more BD to go before we have a night off Grin

Mumofboys17 · 18/11/2019 16:45

@MrsA2019 Hahaha!! 😂 love this!
I’m thinking to aim for every 2 days rather than every other day.. especially in the earlier days of my cycle, don’t want to burn out all the good swimmers before they’ve even had a chance to put their swimming caps on! 😉 then every day once the OPK’s get darker 😬
